A Front-Row Encounter with Jim Ellis — Celebrating a Swimming Pioneer

A Front-Row Encounter with Jim Ellis — Celebrating a Swimming Pioneer

Leonard share a personal highlight meeting Jim Ellis, founder of the PDR Swim Team and inspiration for the movie Pride, and discusses the importance of representation in swimming.

They dive into the controversial rise of Xania Monet, an AI-generated R&B artist whose multi-million dollar deal and vocal likeness to real singers have sparked legal and ethical debates in the music industry.

The show also examines two viral incidents: a bystander attacked after a false theft accusation and a Texas trooper’s shoulder bump of college players that drew condemnation from LeBron and others, plus sports talk and local event updates.

00:01:37 --> 00:01:41 Hey, Mr. Young, what's going on? Hanging out with you. What's happening?
00:01:42 --> 00:01:46 Hey, Dave. Everything is good. This is Leonard Young, CEO of National Black
00:01:46 --> 00:01:51 Guide, DelawareBlack.com, Black Media Specialist, all-around good guy.
00:01:52 --> 00:01:56 Everything's good, Dave. No complaints. Well, I'm sorry. Of course,
00:01:56 --> 00:01:59 there's always complaints, but no complaints to state.
00:02:00 --> 00:02:04 We definitely can't complain, can't we? Right. Yeah. Yeah. So, yeah.
00:02:05 --> 00:02:10 But, you know, we're in a place in a different world,
00:02:10 --> 00:02:15 you know, every time you turn on the news, we're sitting there,
00:02:15 --> 00:02:18 we listen to stuff that's being said, everything that's being done out there,
00:02:19 --> 00:02:24 and you say to yourself, you say to yourself that you've been in a,
00:02:24 --> 00:02:31 You say to yourself that you can't be surprised by anything more,
00:02:32 --> 00:02:35 but then something new comes up and it surprises you.
00:02:36 --> 00:02:41 See, like every day we hear something, you know, you figure we're in the point
00:02:41 --> 00:02:47 in our lives now that nothing can surprise us, nothing can shake us anymore,
00:02:47 --> 00:02:48 and then something does,
00:02:48 --> 00:02:52 you know, and things just keep surprising us, you know.
00:02:53 --> 00:02:58 I agree. Yeah, yeah. It's just never a dull moment. Never, ever.
00:02:58 --> 00:03:02 But here we are. That's the world we live in.
00:03:03 --> 00:03:09 We're definitely in a really, really strange universe.
00:03:09 --> 00:03:15 You know, I almost feel that the parallel universe that they talk about on these
00:03:15 --> 00:03:21 comic books and the movies and all that stuff, I'm really starting to believe
00:03:21 --> 00:03:22 there might be a parallel universe.
00:03:23 --> 00:03:26 Because some of the weird stuff that's going on there, you'd be like,
00:03:27 --> 00:03:31 okay, is this really happening?
00:03:31 --> 00:03:34 You know, but hey, what can you say? What can you say?
00:03:36 --> 00:03:43 But you know did you anything exciting this weekend or yeah i i did exciting
00:03:43 --> 00:03:47 and time consuming so this was actually one of my stories so i just want to
00:03:47 --> 00:03:53 kind of talk about it real quick but this weekend my son had a swim meet in philadelphia,
00:03:54 --> 00:03:58 And it was hosted by the Philadelphia Department of Recreation.
00:03:59 --> 00:04:04 And, you know, I like their team because they have a lot of black swimmers on
00:04:04 --> 00:04:07 there and a lot of good black swimmers.
00:04:07 --> 00:04:12 So, you know, like I think it's good for my son to see and, you know, he's good, too.
00:04:12 --> 00:04:17 But it's good to kind of see that representation in swimming.
00:04:19 --> 00:04:27 Now, one of the banners that they had hanging in the, in the pool was for Jim Ellis, right?
00:04:27 --> 00:04:35 And Jim Ellis was the founder of PDR Swim Team. And he was the one that the movie Pride was about.
00:04:36 --> 00:04:39 Yep. And Dave, I know you saw it because you saw every single movie that ever
00:04:39 --> 00:04:41 came out. Yeah, that was a decent movie. Yeah.
00:04:42 --> 00:04:47 Yep. So, so while there was a swim meet sitting in the stands on Saturday,
00:04:47 --> 00:04:57 there was a guy sitting poolside and he had like a chair almost pulled up poolside
00:04:57 --> 00:04:59 and I could see was an older black guy.
00:04:59 --> 00:05:04 So on Sunday, I was like, Quincy, okay, I was like, you see the banner right there.
00:05:05 --> 00:05:09 You know, like you can see what he looks like. I want you to go to,
00:05:09 --> 00:05:14 you know, I want you to go up to him and see if that's Jim Ellis.
00:05:14 --> 00:05:18 And you already know kids these days, like, oh, do I have to? Why?
00:05:19 --> 00:05:24 You know, so the whole meet, I'm waiting for him to walk over there because
00:05:24 --> 00:05:27 that area was like for swimmers only or, you know, swimmers officials.
00:05:28 --> 00:05:34 So he does walk over. So afterwards, you know, when he's done and I'm like,
00:05:34 --> 00:05:36 Quincy, I need you go there and see.
00:05:36 --> 00:05:38 And he was still scared. He had to take a friend to go over with him.
00:05:39 --> 00:05:42 So he walks over and I could see him talking to the guy.
00:05:43 --> 00:05:46 And he was talking there for like five minutes.
00:05:46 --> 00:05:50 And, you know, I'm trying to wait for the signal so I can go over and get a
00:05:50 --> 00:05:53 picture with him or something. And he don't give me no signal.
00:05:54 --> 00:05:58 And then he starts walking back over. And I look at him and he said, yeah, he said, it's OK.
00:05:59 --> 00:06:03 And I'm like, God, darn it. Well, you know, come on now. So we go over.
00:06:03 --> 00:06:05 So why do we walk? It was. So it was him?
00:06:05 --> 00:06:10 Yep. It was him. Oh, yep. So we, yep, we go over.
00:06:11 --> 00:06:15 And as I'm walking over with Quincy, I'm like, okay, you know,
00:06:15 --> 00:06:17 what did he say to you? Like, what are you talking about?
00:06:17 --> 00:06:22 And he said, well, he was asking me my times and asked me how old I was.
00:06:22 --> 00:06:28 And then he said, when I told him I was only 15, he looked me up and down because,
00:06:28 --> 00:06:32 you know, Quincy's six, three, almost six, four at 15.
00:06:32 --> 00:06:37 So anyway, long story short. So I get over there, I introduced myself,
00:06:38 --> 00:06:41 you know, of course I got to give my shameless Al Bundy plug,
00:06:41 --> 00:06:45 like, Hey, back in the day, I scored four touchdowns and, you know,
00:06:45 --> 00:06:50 so, you know, I'm telling him that because Dave, I actually met him when I was in high school.
00:06:51 --> 00:06:55 He had come to the university of Delaware. There was a swim meet there and PDR,
00:06:55 --> 00:06:59 his team had come and I talked to him at that event.
00:06:59 --> 00:07:02 You know, of course, before the movie, I didn't know all about him like that,
00:07:02 --> 00:07:05 but you know, we knew PDR was a good team that had a lot of black people.
00:07:06 --> 00:07:10 So, and he had asked me to come up there and swim with PDR.
00:07:10 --> 00:07:14 But of course, you know, Delaware to Philly for practice, you know,
00:07:14 --> 00:07:14 that's not going to work.
00:07:15 --> 00:07:20 So anyway, so then he's like, yeah, he's like, I was talking to your son and
00:07:20 --> 00:07:22 you know, he says he does this and this. I was like, yeah.
00:07:22 --> 00:07:25 And he was like, how many times does he work out?
00:07:25 --> 00:07:28 And Quincy was like, how many times do you work out per week?
00:07:28 --> 00:07:29 And Quincy was like, two.
00:07:29 --> 00:07:32 And I was like, no, he works out five to six days a week. He thought he was
00:07:32 --> 00:07:35 talking about like lifting weights and stuff like that.
00:07:35 --> 00:07:39 But anyway, long story short, very nice, very knowledgeable,
00:07:39 --> 00:07:42 you know, on the sidelines, still very active.
00:07:42 --> 00:07:45 You know, his mobility may not be there all the way.
00:07:45 --> 00:07:48 But and, you know, we took a picture of him and I can't lie.
00:07:48 --> 00:07:51 That like I was geeking on the way back to Delaware.
00:07:52 --> 00:07:55 Like I was excited. it. You know, I looked at that picture.
00:07:55 --> 00:07:58 In fact, if you get a chance, I posted on my Instagram, my Facebook today.
00:07:59 --> 00:08:00 Yeah. So just impressive.
00:08:00 --> 00:08:07 But anyway, I say that to say for anyone who does not know, Jim Ellis in Philadelphia,
00:08:08 --> 00:08:15 founder of PDR, is credited with founding the first black swim team in the nation.
00:08:16 --> 00:08:22 And he did it in 1971. I'm sorry, first predominantly black swim team in the nation.
00:08:23 --> 00:08:28 It was founded in 1971 and he's still active in coaching today.
00:08:28 --> 00:08:33 Dave, that is 45, 44 years. How old is he?
00:08:34 --> 00:08:39 Um, so I think he's 78 years old. Okay. All right. Yep.
00:08:39 --> 00:08:49 And yep. So PDR, they have their, some of their swimmers have broken national age group records.
00:08:49 --> 00:08:55 They have made U.S. national teams. They have qualified for the Olympics.
00:08:55 --> 00:09:02 Jim Ellis has been honored time and time and again with awards and achievements and stuff like that.
00:09:03 --> 00:09:08 And, of course, he was the focus of the movie Pride, which starred Terrence
00:09:08 --> 00:09:15 Howard, Bernie Mac, rest in peace, and I think Elyse Neal, right?
00:09:15 --> 00:09:19 But for anyone who's not familiar with the story, great story.
00:09:19 --> 00:09:23 Check out the movie. The movie is based on his real life events.
00:09:24 --> 00:09:28 But I can't lie. That was like the highlight of my day.
00:09:30 --> 00:09:33 And you geeking. You know, your son probably.
00:09:34 --> 00:09:39 Did your son get excited after you realized it was him? Not really.
00:09:40 --> 00:09:44 Yeah, they take everything. Dave, you know, these kids don't really get excited.
00:09:44 --> 00:09:49 And it's funny because when we were going to the meet, oh, no,
00:09:49 --> 00:09:51 well, this was after when we were on the way home. He was like,
00:09:51 --> 00:09:58 yeah, my mom had told me to watch Pride, the movie Pride, before the swammy, but he didn't.
00:09:59 --> 00:10:04 And in fact, I'm glad you reminded me because I found Pride on HBO Max.
00:10:04 --> 00:10:07 So I'm going to have him watch it. You're going to have him watch it, okay.
00:10:08 --> 00:10:11 You're going to sit him down. You're going to make sure y'all watch it together.
00:10:12 --> 00:10:16 Well, I'll try, but I want to make sure he watch it. Maybe I'll quiz him. Okay.
00:10:18 --> 00:10:23 Okay. All right. Well, that sounds like a great look. So you had an official
00:10:23 --> 00:10:25 sighting. There you go. Yeah.
00:10:26 --> 00:10:29 Okay. All right. All right. History at its best.
00:10:30 --> 00:10:33 Yeah. Yeah. Black excellence. There you go. Black excellence.
00:10:34 --> 00:10:40 You know, and especially when it comes to sports and something other than football or basketball.
00:10:40 --> 00:10:42 Right. That's a great thing. You know what I mean? You know,
00:10:43 --> 00:10:47 because most of us are, that's for, you know, most of the notoriety is football.
00:10:48 --> 00:10:54 Basketball, and then baseball, you know, but, you know, when you hear these,
00:10:55 --> 00:10:58 you know other sports swimming and
00:10:58 --> 00:11:01 soccer those kind of sports you know that's and someone
00:11:01 --> 00:11:04 is doing what they're doing and then we have pioneers as
00:11:04 --> 00:11:08 well right especially right now you know especially with here you know here
00:11:08 --> 00:11:14 we are you know over the next few weeks or so we're in the founders day mood
00:11:14 --> 00:11:21 where all the you know sororities and all the fraternities are celebrating their Founder's Day,
00:11:21 --> 00:11:25 you know, so it just falls in line pretty perfectly there. So, yeah.
00:11:26 --> 00:11:31 By the way, happy Founder's Day to the Qs. They're the ones that's up right now.
00:11:32 --> 00:11:39 I know we just had the Deltas too, right? No, the Deltas in January.
00:11:40 --> 00:11:44 It was Sigma Rho, right?
00:11:45 --> 00:11:48 I think it might have been the Zetas. I forget.
00:11:49 --> 00:11:55 I think it was Sigma Rho. Okay. Yeah. Yeah, I think their founding day was this
00:11:55 --> 00:11:58 week, too. Yeah. Well, last week. Last week.
00:11:59 --> 00:12:03 Okay. Well, congratulations to all the great sororities and fraternities,
00:12:03 --> 00:12:06 because they're all coming up. Yeah.
00:12:07 --> 00:12:14 December 4th. Yeah, that's right. Yeah, that's your December 4th. Yeah. Okay. All right.
00:12:15 --> 00:12:21 And which one is the oldest fraternity? Alpha.
00:12:21 --> 00:12:25 Okay. The oldest and the coldest date. Yeah, I knew you were going to say that.
00:12:25 --> 00:12:30 I knew you were going to say that. Also, the AKAs are the oldest and the oldest
00:12:30 --> 00:12:33 sorority, right? The AKAs are the oldest sorority, right? Yeah.
00:12:34 --> 00:12:36 Okay. And theirs is the 13th, I think.
00:12:37 --> 00:12:41 Right, yeah. I knew theirs was coming up, too. In fact, it's funny because the
00:12:41 --> 00:12:45 AKs and the Deltas are like two days apart.
00:12:45 --> 00:12:49 I think the Deltas are the 16th of January. Mm-hmm.
00:12:49 --> 00:12:53 And AKs are the 13th. Okay.
00:12:54 --> 00:12:58 All right. Cool. Cool. Well, hold on. Let me just Google real quick.
00:12:58 --> 00:13:02 Yeah, let's make sure I know before we. No, no, Dave. I'm sorry. Get some hate mail.
00:13:02 --> 00:13:05 Hold on. Let me switch it up. I apologize.
00:13:06 --> 00:13:12 The Deltas are the 13th and the AKs are the 16th. There you go. All right. Oh, Dave.
00:13:13 --> 00:13:17 Yeah, you're going to get us canceled, man. You're going to get us canceled, man. Oh, Dave.
00:13:17 --> 00:13:21 I'm sorry. The AKs are the 15th. Oh, my God.
00:13:22 --> 00:13:28 These are your sisters, man. Y'all supposed to be taking care of them, right?
00:13:28 --> 00:13:29 Well, Dave, you remember we
00:13:29 --> 00:13:32 were talking about everything that just keeps on hitting us in the head.
00:13:32 --> 00:13:35 So, you know, blame my memory. Blame it on that? Okay.
00:13:36 --> 00:13:40 But just by the final correction, just in case we edit everything else,
00:13:41 --> 00:13:44 Delta's Founders Day is January 13th.
00:13:44 --> 00:13:52 And aka Founders Day is January 15th okay alright well like I said they're all
00:13:52 --> 00:13:58 coming up so we knew you know so you know so I'm sure and,
00:13:59 --> 00:14:03 It's funny because you know when they're all going on because they're all over
00:14:03 --> 00:14:06 your timeline and everything, you know, so, yeah, so,
00:14:07 --> 00:14:10 all right, well, congratulations to everyone for their Founders Day,
00:14:10 --> 00:14:17 if they haven't already celebrated, and the ones that are coming up, so, all right, okay,
00:14:17 --> 00:14:23 all right, I guess we got a few stories to talk about, so I guess we'll go ahead and get into that.
00:14:23 --> 00:14:28 Oh, and just a reminder, you know, got a lot of feedback about last week's show
00:14:28 --> 00:14:31 and our guest, Mr. Larry Borenhill.
00:14:31 --> 00:14:36 Just keep in mind, they're doing their book signing tomorrow over at Eastside
00:14:36 --> 00:14:38 Charter in Wilmington, Delaware.
00:14:39 --> 00:14:43 Starting at, I think it's, what time did you say? Six?
00:14:44 --> 00:14:48 Yeah, I think it was roughly. Yeah, I think it's six o'clock. Yeah. And until 7.30.
00:14:48 --> 00:14:54 So if you get a chance to stop over, support the brother, buy a book,
00:14:55 --> 00:14:59 you know, and get a sign when you go. So, all right.
00:15:00 --> 00:15:03 All right. Let's see. Got, you know,
00:15:04 --> 00:15:11 remember back in the day, there was a very popular commercial where it involved
00:15:11 --> 00:15:15 the selling of a cassette tape.
00:15:15 --> 00:15:20 For those of you that know what cassette tapes are or remember what they are.
00:15:20 --> 00:15:25 You know, we used to use cassette tapes for everything at one time.
00:15:25 --> 00:15:26 Of course, that was so long ago.
00:15:27 --> 00:15:34 And the commercial, it would say, is it live or is it Memorex?
00:15:34 --> 00:15:39 Okay. Yeah, remember the Memorex commercials? Yeah. I do. Yeah, so.
00:15:39 --> 00:15:44 Well, this story sort of reminds you of that commercial.
00:15:46 --> 00:15:51 And what we're dealing with now, and whether it's live or whether it's Memorex.
00:15:52 --> 00:16:00 And that is AI-generated personalities, singers, and music.
00:16:01 --> 00:16:08 So, you know, just like we can't stop talking about our federal government and
00:16:08 --> 00:16:15 our leader, the free world, right now, AI is just the big of the subject right now.
00:16:16 --> 00:16:24 And so I didn't know much about this particular person until this weekend when
00:16:24 --> 00:16:27 I kind of stumbled across the interview that she did.
00:16:27 --> 00:16:32 And I must admit, the story just kind of fascinated me.
00:16:33 --> 00:16:38 And so I want to see, I want to share with you guys about this story.
00:16:39 --> 00:16:42 So let's see here.
00:16:42 --> 00:16:46 I'm going to read this story to you And so
00:16:46 --> 00:16:49 you can see how fascinating this is There's a
00:16:49 --> 00:16:54 new artist Her name is Zania Monet
00:16:54 --> 00:16:57 And she is
00:16:57 --> 00:17:00 an AI-generated R&B artist
00:17:00 --> 00:17:05 Created by poet Talisha Nikki
00:17:05 --> 00:17:08 Jones Zania Monet is an
00:17:08 --> 00:17:12 AI-generated R&B artist Jones used
00:17:12 --> 00:17:24 the AI music creation tool Sunu to turn her lyrics into songs and has recently
00:17:24 --> 00:17:30 signed a multi-million dollar record deal with Hallwood Media.
00:17:30 --> 00:17:37 Monet has gained significant popularity with songs charting on Billboard and
00:17:37 --> 00:17:40 accumulating millions of streams across platforms. Thank you.
00:17:41 --> 00:17:46 You can watch this video to learn more about the creator on Zanay Monet,
00:17:46 --> 00:17:48 and there's a link to the video.
00:17:49 --> 00:17:52 Now, just a little bit about it.
00:17:52 --> 00:17:59 It says the record deal, which was signed in September 2025,
00:18:00 --> 00:18:07 it was announced that Jones signed the multimillion-dollar deal for Zanay Monet
00:18:07 --> 00:18:09 with the independent label.
00:18:10 --> 00:18:16 Popularity in the charting. Monet's songs have become popular quickly with millions
00:18:16 --> 00:18:19 of streams and appearances on the Billboard charts,
00:18:20 --> 00:18:26 including the adult R&B airplay charts and hot gospel song charts.
00:18:27 --> 00:18:30 And she's getting radio play as well.
00:18:31 --> 00:18:35 Now, of course, there's always a controversy when it comes to this type of stuff.
00:18:35 --> 00:18:40 It says the rise of Zania Monet, they, along with other AI-generated artists,
00:18:40 --> 00:18:42 has sparked debates in the music
00:18:42 --> 00:18:47 industry about the role of artificial intelligence versus human artists.
00:18:49 --> 00:18:52 So that's just a little bit about that.
00:18:52 --> 00:19:00 Now, also, there's another part of the controversy, whereas people kept saying,
00:19:00 --> 00:19:06 when you hear her songs and listen to her words,
00:19:06 --> 00:19:09 that her voice sounds very familiar.
00:19:10 --> 00:19:15 And they're saying that she sounds a lot like K.
00:19:15 --> 00:19:18 Michelle, the singer K. Michelle.
00:19:19 --> 00:19:24 But Kay Michelle has had a lot of people reach out to her and say,
00:19:24 --> 00:19:26 hey, I'm really feeling you're a new song.
00:19:27 --> 00:19:31 You know, that's really a great song that she did.
00:19:31 --> 00:19:34 And she's like, what are you talking about? And then, you know,
00:19:34 --> 00:19:39 of course, she was told about this and she went and listened and she agrees
00:19:39 --> 00:19:41 herself that it sounds like her.
00:19:41 --> 00:19:50 And so Kate Michelle is luring up Because she's planning to sue About them using
00:19:50 --> 00:19:54 her voice And this is not the first time that Kate Michelle said That her voice
00:19:54 --> 00:19:57 has been used in AI-generated songs.
00:19:58 --> 00:20:06 There's also a video They have created a video artist That has her singing on
00:20:06 --> 00:20:12 a couple different videos Of a couple of her songs Have you seen any of this yet? Yes, I have.
00:20:13 --> 00:20:23 What do you think of the presentation of who and what they have put together
00:20:23 --> 00:20:27 as far as her look and everything? So...
00:20:29 --> 00:20:36 First of all, I think it's wild because now anybody can create a character that
00:20:36 --> 00:20:38 can create music and sing it and all that.
00:20:39 --> 00:20:43 So I think that it's really going to mess up the industry.
00:20:43 --> 00:20:47 And, you know, kind of like, you know, even when we talked before about AI putting
00:20:47 --> 00:20:53 people out of jobs, this is going to go for entertainers, producers, directors.
00:20:54 --> 00:21:01 You know, songwriters, you know all that so i agree i mean i i do agree i think it's wild and,
00:21:02 --> 00:21:05 dave to be honest i don't know if it's like i don't know if it's
00:21:05 --> 00:21:08 anything we can stop because people are like keep on
00:21:08 --> 00:21:11 making songs and whether they're associated with
00:21:11 --> 00:21:14 an artist or not because you remember i told you that that
00:21:14 --> 00:21:17 sono sunu that was the same program i
00:21:17 --> 00:21:20 used to make a song about the campground so that
00:21:20 --> 00:21:23 was the same program yeah yeah for the campground yeah
00:21:23 --> 00:21:27 i remember you playing that yeah yeah so you
00:21:27 --> 00:21:30 know it's kind of like now is that a free is that
00:21:30 --> 00:21:33 a free program yes but
00:21:33 --> 00:21:36 i think with the free version you can only do so much like you
00:21:36 --> 00:21:41 may only be able to like make four or five songs and but the the song that they
00:21:41 --> 00:21:45 made for the campground was kind of catchy you know like a country mute and
00:21:45 --> 00:21:49 you know like you can specify so much so i just put in some basic words about
00:21:49 --> 00:21:54 the campground and i said make it sound like a country song you know And, um,
00:21:54 --> 00:21:59 it was good now on the flip side, the part about K Michelle,
00:21:59 --> 00:22:03 I feel that, well, let me ask a question.
00:22:04 --> 00:22:10 Well, it's a question, but not a question. If this, and what's the lady's name?
00:22:11 --> 00:22:14 Xanthia? Xania. Xania. Okay.
00:22:14 --> 00:22:19 Let's say Xania was a real person and she sounded like K. Michelle.
00:22:20 --> 00:22:25 You know what? Would anybody be tripping? No, because right now in real life,
00:22:25 --> 00:22:27 we have a lot of these female artists that sounded like.
00:22:28 --> 00:22:31 Yeah. So, I mean, that's kind of my thing. Like, okay, she sounds like K.
00:22:31 --> 00:22:39 If they they think she sounds like k michelle but i mean like one how do you prove it,
00:22:39 --> 00:22:42 and then two is kind of like there are a lot
00:22:42 --> 00:22:45 of people who sound like other people you know yeah
00:22:45 --> 00:22:51 so so my thing about that is just i don't think she can come after her for that
00:22:51 --> 00:22:59 unless they know for a fact that they you know try to i don't know i don't know
00:22:59 --> 00:23:03 i mean in my mind it's like a lot of people sound alike like if she was a real
00:23:03 --> 00:23:04 person nobody would be tripping,
00:23:05 --> 00:23:08 well i'm sorry they would be tripping they would be tripping they would still
00:23:08 --> 00:23:12 be tripping yeah you know that's uh yeah somebody's gonna find some hate somewhere
00:23:12 --> 00:23:19 you know but i know i was listening i was looking at one of her videos now in
00:23:19 --> 00:23:21 this particular song and video.
00:23:23 --> 00:23:28 She sounds like, to me, you can hear Beyonce and you can hear,
00:23:28 --> 00:23:31 okay, Michelle in her voice.
00:23:31 --> 00:23:33 Definitely. You can definitely hear Beyonce.
00:23:33 --> 00:23:35 I'm telling you, you definitely hear Beyonce.
00:23:36 --> 00:23:43 And I'm like, wow. You know, I'm saying, God, she sounds like Beyonce here to me, you know?
00:23:44 --> 00:23:49 But then you're looking at her and you say, okay, well, definitely she don't look like Beyonce.
00:23:49 --> 00:23:52 Say and the way that the way they chose to present
00:23:52 --> 00:23:59 her in the video form of her singing and everything you know of course you know
00:23:59 --> 00:24:03 she's very appealing you know she you know they're making sure that she's easy
00:24:03 --> 00:24:09 on the eyes and you know and she you know and definitely she looks like she's
00:24:09 --> 00:24:11 singing because she's you know,
00:24:12 --> 00:24:16 It's, you know, it's not, it doesn't look fake. It doesn't look fake.
00:24:17 --> 00:24:20 They've done a very good job of what they've done with it.
00:24:20 --> 00:24:26 It just looks, but you can tell there's some kind of futuristic kind of style
00:24:26 --> 00:24:27 to it. You know what I mean?
00:24:28 --> 00:24:31 Yeah, so, but this is where we are, folks.
00:24:31 --> 00:24:40 I was listening to the interview with the young lady, Nikki Jones, who created her.
00:24:42 --> 00:24:45 And even in talking about her because she was
00:24:45 --> 00:24:48 on tamarin hall show and she was talking about
00:24:48 --> 00:24:52 this multi-million dollar deal and she
00:24:52 --> 00:24:54 was like you know kind of you could tell she was kind of
00:24:54 --> 00:24:57 hesitant to really say too much about it you know
00:24:57 --> 00:25:00 because she's got she was
00:25:00 --> 00:25:07 able to get a deal for this imaginary person and you got real life artists that
00:25:07 --> 00:25:14 can't walk into the same place and get a deal and have just as much talent or
00:25:14 --> 00:25:18 better than this person does. Well, this made-up person does.
00:25:19 --> 00:25:26 And this is what's scary is because, you know, he is right now,
00:25:26 --> 00:25:33 Zania Monet is being credited with being the first AI-generated artist to get radio play.
00:25:35 --> 00:25:38 This is where we are. Yeah. and
00:25:38 --> 00:25:44 she's got like five or six uh four i've seen at least four or five of her singles
00:25:44 --> 00:25:51 on spotify right now unbelievable you know so i just wanted to talk about that
00:25:51 --> 00:25:56 i just said you know especially me being a music kind of guy i was like.
00:25:57 --> 00:26:02 These people that have been singing for years and out here, you know,
00:26:03 --> 00:26:06 trying to get every dime, every nickel they can.
00:26:06 --> 00:26:14 And here comes this person, not even real, getting a multi-million dollar contract.
00:26:14 --> 00:26:19 And get this, she owns all the masters, too. I'm sure.
00:26:21 --> 00:26:24 You know because he got this multi-million dollar
00:26:24 --> 00:26:27 deal and was able to own the masters to
00:26:27 --> 00:26:35 this person i think it's i think it's you know i think it's a i think it's a
00:26:35 --> 00:26:40 little on the weird side but the fact that it's a black woman that came up with
00:26:40 --> 00:26:45 this and it's not like a you know in real Like we always have the white,
00:26:45 --> 00:26:50 the white managers and, and all the, you know,
00:26:50 --> 00:26:53 the backing is always somebody like a Clyde Davis or somebody like that,
00:26:54 --> 00:26:56 that's making all the money off of us.
00:26:56 --> 00:27:02 I, I, I just feel, I'm kind of glad that it's not a white person and I hate
00:27:02 --> 00:27:06 to put it this way so bluntly that created this, this character. Yeah.
00:27:08 --> 00:27:12 And was making money off of it. That it is at least one of us.
00:27:12 --> 00:27:17 You know? I agree. But, you know, I feel like this puts the word out. Not the word out.
00:27:18 --> 00:27:21 The lookout for more people doing this. Because it's like.
00:27:22 --> 00:27:25 I'm sure there's already a lot of people doing it. We do. Because they think
00:27:25 --> 00:27:26 about it. I mean, if she's R&B.
00:27:27 --> 00:27:30 Okay. Well, somebody got to be the first AI rapper to get a record deal.
00:27:30 --> 00:27:31 Somebody got to be the first AI. Well, we did.
00:27:32 --> 00:27:35 Remember, we talked about that AI rapper a couple years ago.
00:27:35 --> 00:27:37 Yeah. I remember that. Remember that?
00:27:37 --> 00:27:42 But, you know, I think they discontinued him. Right, they did. They did.
00:27:43 --> 00:27:46 Yeah. And I think, was he saying the N-word or something? Yeah.
00:27:47 --> 00:27:50 He said something by white people. Yeah, yeah, no business. Yeah.
00:27:50 --> 00:27:55 But, you know, and Dave, not just music. Like, I'm thinking about, like, art.
00:27:55 --> 00:28:01 Like, okay, like, what's going to be the first AI-created artwork to sell for so much money?
00:28:01 --> 00:28:04 And let's not even talk about movies and TV. I know.
00:28:04 --> 00:28:08 I know. We're not even getting into it. Yeah, we hadn't even talked about that yet.
00:28:08 --> 00:28:12 Because, I mean, we already know they can create a, I mean, if AI can create
00:28:12 --> 00:28:16 a book in less than an hour, you know it's going to have a full-fledged movie.
00:28:17 --> 00:28:21 Yeah, that's true. That is true. TV shows, all that.
00:28:22 --> 00:28:28 Well, you know, just saying to you guys, you know, go out there and take a listen
00:28:28 --> 00:28:30 to her. See what you think.
00:28:30 --> 00:28:34 And I'm going to say, the songs are nice. I mean, and, you know,
00:28:34 --> 00:28:40 this person who created her wrote all the, wrote all the words and, you know,
00:28:40 --> 00:28:45 and she's been credited with being a great poet, you know, so,
00:28:45 --> 00:28:49 so, and these, these, these.
00:28:50 --> 00:28:54 These words and these songs that, I mean, she's written for this artist,
00:28:54 --> 00:28:57 for this AI-generated artist, are all coming from personal, you know,
00:28:58 --> 00:29:00 her personal story, you know, so.
00:29:01 --> 00:29:07 But definitely, guys, if you get a chance, check her out. And like I said, her name is Zania Monet.
00:29:08 --> 00:29:17 It's X-A-N-I-A. And they have an underscore, and then M-O-N-E-T is Monet.
00:29:18 --> 00:29:23 So check her out. tell me what you guys think check out her videos too very
00:29:23 --> 00:29:25 interesting very interesting okay,
00:29:26 --> 00:29:30 all right we'll move on to our next story well
00:29:30 --> 00:29:33 leonard kind of started talking about it already but go ahead leonard go ahead
00:29:33 --> 00:29:40 tell us what the next a little bit more the next oh no no i'm i'm done oh okay
00:29:40 --> 00:29:44 yeah yeah all right so yeah okay so he kind of he kind of jumped the gun on
00:29:44 --> 00:29:48 it already So he was supposed to talk about Jim Ellis,
00:29:49 --> 00:29:51 but he already talked about Jim Ellis. So there we go. All right.
00:29:53 --> 00:29:58 You know, he was still excited, people. What can you say? Anyway.
00:30:00 --> 00:30:03 We're going to move on to the next story then.
00:30:05 --> 00:30:14 Bystander attacks innocent black men after Karen's false theft accusations go viral. You know what?
00:30:15 --> 00:30:23 I would like to play this video. It's only like a couple minutes long. Can you cue that up?
00:30:24 --> 00:30:28 Now, let me see if the engineer can chew it up for you. Yeah.
00:30:29 --> 00:30:31 Or can we get our AI engineer to do it?
00:30:33 --> 00:30:36 Um, you know, we're going to have to get an AI assistant, man.
00:30:38 --> 00:30:43 You, did you know anything about the story, by the way? Yeah, I, I, I think I saw it.
00:30:43 --> 00:30:46 Yeah, okay. All right. All right, you want me to play? I think we're good.
00:30:46 --> 00:30:49 Yeah, let's play the video. Oh.
00:31:05 --> 00:31:17 That's a girl.
00:31:18 --> 00:31:22 Let's go. I can't find that. Let's go.
00:31:24 --> 00:31:31 I don't want to hurt you. I don't want to hurt you. Let's go. Let's go.
00:31:33 --> 00:31:33 I'm dying,
00:31:36 --> 00:31:38 sir. Sir, it's fine.
00:31:40 --> 00:31:45 Move to the back. Move to the back. I'm going to do my math.
00:31:45 --> 00:31:51 It has no form of knowledge and it's a big bang. A big bang.
00:32:16 --> 00:32:23 Yeah okay so i don't know folks i don't know if you guys have been able to check this out.
00:32:23 --> 00:32:29 I know I came across my feed over the weekend, and I was like,
00:32:29 --> 00:32:34 you know, when you first look at this, you see there's this guy.
00:32:35 --> 00:32:41 He's a large, it looks like he might be about 6'4", 6'5", or something,
00:32:42 --> 00:32:47 black man who is standing there, and he has a bag in his hand,
00:32:47 --> 00:32:53 But there is a white woman who also has a hold of the same bag.
00:32:54 --> 00:32:58 And she's grabbing at it and he's grabbing at it.
00:32:58 --> 00:33:07 Then you see this other white guy who is arguing with the black man who is saying,
00:33:07 --> 00:33:10 stop trying to steal her bag.
00:33:10 --> 00:33:14 Because it looks like he's trying to take the bag away from the woman. Right.
00:33:15 --> 00:33:21 And so forth and so forth. Now, what happens next is that this white guy who's
00:33:21 --> 00:33:28 talking to the guy, now, the black man seemed like he was, I don't know.
00:33:29 --> 00:33:33 When you first see him, I don't know if you think he's kind of slow or maybe
00:33:33 --> 00:33:37 alleviated or something because of the way he's talking,
00:33:38 --> 00:33:43 but he's trying to tell, the white guy is telling him to let the bag go and
00:33:43 --> 00:33:45 stop trying to steal the woman's bag.
00:33:46 --> 00:33:54 The guy, the black man, is trying to tell him it's not her bag, it's his bag.
00:33:55 --> 00:34:01 Well, the white guy had once said nothing, to hear nothing of what he's saying.
00:34:02 --> 00:34:07 And he punches the guy right in the face, almost knocks him out.
00:34:07 --> 00:34:12 You saw that punch, right? Mm-hmm, yeah. He got him really good, you know.
00:34:12 --> 00:34:17 And he's arguing with the guy and you know meanwhile the woman is screaming
00:34:17 --> 00:34:22 this is my bag let it go let it go now one thing I had to give this dude credit
00:34:22 --> 00:34:25 he was not letting that bag go did you notice that?
00:34:26 --> 00:34:31 He had a grip on that bag he was not gonna let that bag go but the woman wasn't
00:34:31 --> 00:34:36 letting go of the bag either and she's up there saying it's her bag it's her bag.
00:34:37 --> 00:34:42 And he's you know so the white guy of course believes her And,
00:34:42 --> 00:34:45 you know, it's trying to get him to let go of the bag.
00:34:46 --> 00:34:49 You see a couple, you hear a couple other voices in the background,
00:34:49 --> 00:34:53 you know, and they're trying to tell the white guy, you know,
00:34:53 --> 00:34:57 that he's the one that's stealing the bag.
00:34:58 --> 00:35:02 They said, you know, when the police get there, the police said,
00:35:03 --> 00:35:06 that the woman was confused. Well.
00:35:08 --> 00:35:11 And apparently there's other people that said that's not the first time this
00:35:11 --> 00:35:14 woman has done something like that, you know?
00:35:14 --> 00:35:18 So, but maybe she's the real thief.
00:35:19 --> 00:35:22 Well, that's, and that's what they're saying that she is.
00:35:23 --> 00:35:27 And apparently, you know, the guy's trying to talk to the people and trying
00:35:27 --> 00:35:31 to tell, cause a cop shows up and he's trying to, the cop is trying to talk
00:35:31 --> 00:35:36 to him and say, let the bag go. and he's trying to say, it's my bag, it's my bag.
00:35:36 --> 00:35:39 He said, all you got to do is just look in the bag.
00:35:39 --> 00:35:44 Okay? And when they looked in the, you know, finally, they looked in the bag
00:35:44 --> 00:35:49 and they found, you know, his ID, his wallet, his keys, his personal items.
00:35:49 --> 00:35:56 So he wasn't lying. Everything, the bag belonged to him. But they never took the time to look in it.
00:35:57 --> 00:36:02 They just assumed because he was a large black man, he was white.
00:36:03 --> 00:36:10 That it was her bad. Okay? So, and it was really frustrating because when I
00:36:10 --> 00:36:14 first saw it come up on my newsfeed, on my feed, and I kept saying,
00:36:15 --> 00:36:20 well, why would this guy try to take this bag? But then when I heard him saying,
00:36:20 --> 00:36:24 it's my bag, look in the bag, and he's trying to get them to look in the bag,
00:36:25 --> 00:36:28 and they didn't want to hear anything he had to say.
00:36:30 --> 00:36:34 What was your thoughts when you saw this? I mean, the same thing was interesting
00:36:34 --> 00:36:38 because first, just knowing that it's online and we're watching it,
00:36:38 --> 00:36:40 I was like, okay, there's got to be a twist.
00:36:41 --> 00:36:45 And I was just kind of waiting for that moment where it, you know,
00:36:45 --> 00:36:47 switched up and we saw what it really was.
00:36:48 --> 00:36:51 But as it kept going on, you started thinking to yourself, well,
00:36:51 --> 00:36:55 it must be this guy's bag because the way he was holding on to the bag,
00:36:55 --> 00:37:00 he was not, he knew if he let that bag go, he probably wasn't going to say it again.
00:37:00 --> 00:37:04 And, you know, I think this is one of the things too where, and I mean,
00:37:05 --> 00:37:10 Dave, I'm sure black people do it too, but, you know, we make assumptions on
00:37:10 --> 00:37:12 situations based on what people look like.
00:37:12 --> 00:37:17 Have you ever seen the other social experiment where there's
00:37:17 --> 00:37:20 a okay so there's a little
00:37:20 --> 00:37:24 black boy walking down the street and in
00:37:24 --> 00:37:28 like new york something like that and when he gets in front of an alleyway somebody
00:37:28 --> 00:37:34 like grabs him and pulls him in the alleyway and he like yells everyone kept
00:37:34 --> 00:37:40 on walking but then they had a little a little white girl of course yep and
00:37:40 --> 00:37:43 i mean it There's a difference between boys and girls, too.
00:37:43 --> 00:37:48 But, I mean, just how many people ran up and tried to save this white girl was,
00:37:48 --> 00:37:50 you know, something else.
00:37:50 --> 00:37:55 Yeah, but, you know, there's been experiments like this over the years.
00:37:56 --> 00:38:03 You know, and, you know, the people, the psychiatrists and psychologists,
00:38:03 --> 00:38:11 all of them are social, you know, doing these social experiments as far as racism and everything goes.
00:38:11 --> 00:38:17 And they still can't seem to get the results and opinions together to make a lot of sense.
00:38:17 --> 00:38:24 I know I was reading in this, during the story, it said, listen to this.
00:38:24 --> 00:38:28 This is that experts warn about legal fallout and lasting trauma.
00:38:28 --> 00:38:33 They said though the woman walked away with a brief apology,
00:38:33 --> 00:38:36 she may not legally be off the hook.
00:38:37 --> 00:38:43 Civil rights lawyers say false accusations like this can lead to lawsuits or
00:38:43 --> 00:38:48 criminal charges if file reports are proven baseless.
00:38:48 --> 00:38:54 The attacker may also face battery charges, especially since the video clearly
00:38:54 --> 00:38:56 shows an unprovoked assault.
00:38:57 --> 00:39:09 The situation raises broader concerns about how quickly public has bias and can lead to harm.
00:39:09 --> 00:39:21 We know that this was a reverse situation. you know and you know this was a black person.
00:39:22 --> 00:39:28 And there was a white man holding on to the bag, or a white woman.
00:39:29 --> 00:39:32 And that the situation would have went a little bit differently.
00:39:32 --> 00:39:37 Do you think that they would have swung on a white, that same guy would have
00:39:37 --> 00:39:40 swung on a white person like he swung on a black person?
00:39:41 --> 00:39:42 Probably not. No, definitely.
00:39:43 --> 00:39:48 No, I'm almost positive that wouldn't happen. So, you know, when you look at
00:39:48 --> 00:39:53 this, it just says a lot about, you know, the situation at hand and all the
00:39:53 --> 00:39:58 problems that we still have in life as far as all the racial tensions.
00:39:58 --> 00:40:02 You know, we're still climbing walls, man. We're still climbing walls,
00:40:02 --> 00:40:05 man, you know, to get to the other side, if you feel me.
00:40:06 --> 00:40:12 So, but I just thought this was a very, very interesting situation and a very,
00:40:13 --> 00:40:16 you know, also says a lot about the world that we live in,
00:40:17 --> 00:40:22 and the way things are still perpetuating as far as that is concerned.
00:40:22 --> 00:40:28 Anything else you wanted to add about that? No. I mean, the guy who was trying
00:40:28 --> 00:40:29 to punch him was just crazy.
00:40:31 --> 00:40:36 Yeah. Yeah, yeah. I mean, he hit that dude hard too, man.
00:40:36 --> 00:40:40 Yeah, he did. And the guy was like, man, why'd you hit me? Right.
00:40:40 --> 00:40:46 You know, so. So, but hopefully, hopefully the people, well,
00:40:46 --> 00:40:51 that guy that did, I know he tried to be a good Samaritan, but he took it a
00:40:51 --> 00:40:53 little too far. He really did.
00:40:53 --> 00:40:57 And especially since the guy is saying the whole time, hey, just look in the bag.
00:40:58 --> 00:41:04 You'll see it's my bag, you know. So, man, we got to do better,
00:41:04 --> 00:41:05 man. That's all I can say.
00:41:05 --> 00:41:12 We got to do better. So, all right, we're going to move on to our next story, which is...
00:41:13 --> 00:41:18 Now, LeBron always seems to get his name somehow and everything.
00:41:18 --> 00:41:22 You ever notice that? He tweets on everything. Yeah, he likes to comment.
00:41:22 --> 00:41:30 He got a comment, you know. So this is LeBron had a comment about this,
00:41:31 --> 00:41:36 what happened over the weekend in college football in a football game.
00:41:36 --> 00:41:38 Hold on for one moment.
00:41:39 --> 00:41:41 Okay. Okay, so LeBron James calls
00:41:41 --> 00:41:47 out Texas A&M cop after a shoulder bump incident with football players.
00:41:47 --> 00:41:49 So this is the backdrop.
00:41:50 --> 00:41:56 It says, after footage of an incident involving a cop in Texas and college football
00:41:56 --> 00:42:00 players went viral, LeBron James is calling for the cop's suspension.
00:42:01 --> 00:42:06 On Saturday, November 15th, during the Texas A&M and South Carolina game,
00:42:06 --> 00:42:11 a white Texas State trooper appeared to shoulder check at least one black player
00:42:11 --> 00:42:14 as they walked through a stadium tunnel.
00:42:15 --> 00:42:22 In a clip circulating online, South Carolina player Nick Havert and Oscar Attaway
00:42:22 --> 00:42:26 III were making their way through the tunnel fresh off of Harvard's stunning
00:42:26 --> 00:42:28 80-yard touchdown catch.
00:42:29 --> 00:42:35 No less when the trooper can be seen stepping into Attaway's path and bumping him.
00:42:35 --> 00:42:39 The trooper then turns back towards the players, pointing and appearing to scold
00:42:39 --> 00:42:45 them, even as both athletes visibly tried to de-escalate. raising their hands
00:42:45 --> 00:42:46 and keeping their distance.
00:42:47 --> 00:42:52 The moment quickly went viral across social media, drawing outrage from fans
00:42:52 --> 00:42:53 and the professional athletes alike.
00:42:54 --> 00:42:57 That A&M cop needs to be suspended.
00:42:57 --> 00:43:05 That was premeditated and corny AF as he went out of his way to start some,
00:43:05 --> 00:43:08 you know what, but do better, man.
00:43:09 --> 00:43:13 The NBA star wrote on X.
00:43:13 --> 00:43:16 Former NFL tight end Benjamin Watson
00:43:16 --> 00:43:19 also denounced the encounter law enforcement at
00:43:19 --> 00:43:23 the Aggie football game mad because South
00:43:23 --> 00:43:26 Carolina Gamecock scored a TD he
00:43:26 --> 00:43:35 began in a post on X this trash by this clown showing players seriously what
00:43:35 --> 00:43:41 are you doing the Texas Department of Public Safety said in a statement on X
00:43:41 --> 00:43:43 that it is aware of the incident.
00:43:43 --> 00:43:47 The DPS trooper involved was sent home from the game.
00:43:47 --> 00:43:54 Our Office of Inspector General is also aware the incident will be further looking
00:43:54 --> 00:43:58 into the matter, the department said, adding that no additional information
00:43:58 --> 00:44:00 will be released at this time.
00:44:00 --> 00:44:06 The game ultimately ended with Texas A&M narrowly beating South Carolina, 31-30.
00:44:07 --> 00:44:14 Now, I was actually watching this game at the time, I was over a friend of mine's house and,
00:44:16 --> 00:44:20 It was me and three other people, three other guys. We were sitting there watching
00:44:20 --> 00:44:23 the game. And we all saw when it happened.
00:44:24 --> 00:44:30 And the context of what happened was the guy just scored this ADR touchdown.
00:44:32 --> 00:44:38 And he's running. He kind of ran to the back of the end zone.
00:44:38 --> 00:44:43 And you see him kind of going down the tunnel, which is right there at the end
00:44:43 --> 00:44:48 zone. But as he's walking through the tunnel, he's grabbing the back of his
00:44:48 --> 00:44:52 leg because apparently he pulled a hamstring, okay?
00:44:53 --> 00:44:56 And it was clearly that, you know, that's the reason he kept,
00:44:56 --> 00:44:59 he was trying to walk it off. That's what he was doing.
00:45:00 --> 00:45:05 Meanwhile, one of his teammates had ran up alongside him to congratulate him,
00:45:06 --> 00:45:10 you know, not saying that he was having problems with his hamstring at first,
00:45:10 --> 00:45:12 but he ran up just to congratulate him.
00:45:12 --> 00:45:15 And they're walking through the tunnel.
00:45:15 --> 00:45:24 All of a sudden, the cop starts walking towards them and in between them and
00:45:24 --> 00:45:28 the cop bumps them and then turns around.
00:45:29 --> 00:45:35 As they turn around, they're trying to... They didn't take anything up because
00:45:35 --> 00:45:40 they thought it wasn't that big of a deal, but the cop made a big deal out the whole situation.
00:45:40 --> 00:45:44 And he's up there pointing at them and trying to big-time them.
00:45:45 --> 00:45:48 You see them put their hands up like, hey, we didn't mean anything.
00:45:51 --> 00:45:54 That was an accident, you know, and the cops, like, giving them the business,
00:45:54 --> 00:45:57 man. And they turned around, walked back towards the field.
00:45:58 --> 00:46:02 As soon as it happened, we all looked at each other in the room and said, did you see that?
00:46:02 --> 00:46:07 You know, because we knew, we already knew that wasn't going to go away quietly.
00:46:08 --> 00:46:15 And the announcers, you can tell when the announcers know something is good.
00:46:15 --> 00:46:17 They act like it never happened.
00:46:18 --> 00:46:21 You know, they didn't want to talk about it. and
00:46:21 --> 00:46:25 they just said oh it looked like he pulled his hamstring that's all they said
00:46:25 --> 00:46:30 they didn't talk about the what the cop did or anything so it was later on that
00:46:30 --> 00:46:36 you hear you hear one of the commentators say well you know i guess that cop
00:46:36 --> 00:46:39 that bumped the the players earlier i guess,
00:46:39 --> 00:46:42 he must have been he must have been relieved of
00:46:42 --> 00:46:45 his duty i haven't seen him back in the tunnel so somebody must have
00:46:45 --> 00:46:48 said something to them to say hey you gotta at least talk about
00:46:48 --> 00:46:51 it you know so but they didn't
00:46:51 --> 00:46:54 talk about it when it happened they you know so
00:46:54 --> 00:46:59 and they didn't you know but you can see clearly and they didn't do they didn't
00:46:59 --> 00:47:04 do a bunch of replays about it either so but you know but you can see clearly
00:47:04 --> 00:47:08 that that cop was not having none of that they you know and even though the
00:47:08 --> 00:47:12 guys wasn't they didn't do anything malicious at all they didn't have to bump the cop.
00:47:13 --> 00:47:19 You know, I know you didn't see this doing what happened, but did you see it afterwards?
00:47:19 --> 00:47:22 Yeah. I mean, I can't lie. Saturday, it was all over the internet.
00:47:23 --> 00:47:27 Yeah, it was, right? Yeah. I've probably seen it maybe a hundred times.
00:47:28 --> 00:47:33 And you, those football players didn't mean anything purposely, right?
00:47:33 --> 00:47:36 No. And for the most part, it looked like when they were walking back,
00:47:36 --> 00:47:40 they were kind of talking to each other. They weren't even like paying attention
00:47:40 --> 00:47:44 to the cop and he, you know, just kind of walked in between them on purpose
00:47:44 --> 00:47:47 and putting out his elbows.
00:47:47 --> 00:47:52 So, yeah. And he really, the cop was one who really was the aggressor of the
00:47:52 --> 00:47:53 whole thing because he's the one.
00:47:53 --> 00:48:00 He moved his arm in the way of the one guy and he bumped the one guy really good, you know. Yeah.
00:48:01 --> 00:48:05 But you know what? I want to give it to the maturity of the football players,
00:48:05 --> 00:48:08 too, because, you know, the one player looked like he wanted to turn around.
00:48:08 --> 00:48:12 And the other one, you know, kind of ushered, you know, like,
00:48:12 --> 00:48:14 come on, come on, like, we ain't got work, you know what I mean?
00:48:14 --> 00:48:19 So I'm glad that they were, even though the cop was not mature enough,
00:48:19 --> 00:48:24 they were mature enough that, you know, they could kind of dissipate that situation.
00:48:25 --> 00:48:30 Yeah, yeah. Yeah, they definitely were the more mature in the situation.
00:48:30 --> 00:48:33 And that was no young. That guy didn't look like a young cop.
00:48:33 --> 00:48:35 He looked like he was an older cop. You know what I mean?
00:48:36 --> 00:48:39 What I mean by older, he probably. A good old boy. but he was a good old boy.
00:48:39 --> 00:48:42 Yeah, that's what he looked like. He looked like he was between 40 and 50 years
00:48:42 --> 00:48:44 old, right? You know, somewhere around there.
00:48:44 --> 00:48:47 And he was, you know, he wasn't no young guy, you know, so.
00:48:48 --> 00:48:56 But, hey, I just felt, you know, would that have happened if those were two
00:48:56 --> 00:48:57 white players walking up that.
00:48:58 --> 00:49:03 Walking up that tunnel? Of course not. Yeah, yeah. You kind of got that impression.
00:49:03 --> 00:49:05 You know, you kind of got that impression.
00:49:05 --> 00:49:11 You know, we got to look at things for what they are.
00:49:11 --> 00:49:15 And, you know, like these last two stories we talked about, perception is always
00:49:15 --> 00:49:19 a very big thing when it comes to racial situations.
00:49:19 --> 00:49:22 You know, we're finding out that a lot of these celebrities,
00:49:23 --> 00:49:26 you know, they're going back in the archives and finding all this stuff that
00:49:26 --> 00:49:30 people that said back in the day talking about the opposite colors or other
00:49:30 --> 00:49:33 races or whatever, and they're pulling them up.
00:49:33 --> 00:49:36 And of course, you know, people are getting canceled over that whole thing.
00:49:36 --> 00:49:39 You know, it's easy to make a bad decision,
00:49:40 --> 00:49:45 And then say to yourself later on, in hindsight, maybe I should have handled
00:49:45 --> 00:49:46 that a little differently.
00:49:46 --> 00:49:49 You know, especially when the whole world is looking at you.
00:49:50 --> 00:49:55 You know, and in that case, that was a very big game. And there were a lot of
00:49:55 --> 00:49:57 people watching that game.
00:49:57 --> 00:50:01 And you're going to do something like that when you got the whole world looking at you.
00:50:02 --> 00:50:05 You know, so I don't know. I don't know.
00:50:05 --> 00:50:10 We got to figure this out, man. We got to figure out how to be friendlier,
00:50:10 --> 00:50:14 you know, look, AI wouldn't have acted that way.
00:50:15 --> 00:50:21 You know what I mean? Maybe. Maybe. You never know. You never know. You never know.
00:50:21 --> 00:50:27 You never know. So, but, you know, hopefully, you know, I mean,
00:50:27 --> 00:50:31 I hate to see the cop lose his job, but if that's the way that this guy has
00:50:31 --> 00:50:34 been acting all along, because, you know, when you see something like that,
00:50:34 --> 00:50:36 as small as that situation was,
00:50:37 --> 00:50:40 Lord forbid what happens in bigger situations.
00:50:43 --> 00:50:46 But this is where we are. So I just thought it was interesting.
00:50:47 --> 00:50:50 Like I said, I actually was watching the game when it happened,
00:50:50 --> 00:50:54 and I knew it wasn't going to go away as soon as it happened.
00:50:54 --> 00:50:55 I knew that wasn't going away.
00:50:55 --> 00:51:00 And especially, you know, because, you know, we don't play about our kids, man.
00:51:00 --> 00:51:03 You know, and those are young men. those are somebody's kids
00:51:03 --> 00:51:09 you know what i mean so so i know
00:51:09 --> 00:51:12 you guys have your opinion about that moment i'm sure i'm
00:51:12 --> 00:51:17 sure you you will let it be known so definitely make sure to give us an idea
00:51:17 --> 00:51:24 what you guys think about that all right well i guess that was uh the last story
00:51:24 --> 00:51:29 so we're gonna go to dave's corner and learn his favorite part of the show and
00:51:29 --> 00:51:32 this is my thought on Dave's Corner.
00:51:33 --> 00:51:38 Did you watch any football game last night, Leonard? No. No, okay.
00:51:38 --> 00:51:42 You can tell Leonard's a football game.
00:51:42 --> 00:51:46 I mean, I said last night. I meant Sunday night.
00:51:47 --> 00:51:51 Days are getting away from us. The Eagles game on Sunday night.
00:51:51 --> 00:51:54 You know, Leonard's supposed to be a big Eagles fan, but, you know, no comment.
00:51:55 --> 00:52:02 So, anyway, the Eagles pull out a 16-9 victory over Detroit Lions.
00:52:02 --> 00:52:10 Now, this was supposed to be a big game for both teams because they have aspirations
00:52:10 --> 00:52:19 of being two of the last men standing when it comes to the playoffs in the next couple of months.
00:52:19 --> 00:52:25 Of course, we'd like to see our Eagles get back to the Super Bowl and defend their title.
00:52:25 --> 00:52:29 This is one of the teams they're probably going to end up seeing again when
00:52:29 --> 00:52:30 the playoffs come around.
00:52:30 --> 00:52:35 Eagles win the game. but we're not happy about the way the Eagles have been playing.
00:52:36 --> 00:52:41 So I got a very simple question. I mean, I know you've watched some of the games
00:52:41 --> 00:52:44 over the season so far, right? Right.
00:52:44 --> 00:52:53 Do you think this Eagles team is good enough to go back to the Super Bowl and win it again? Yes.
00:52:54 --> 00:52:58 Okay, what makes you think that way? So, I mean, the games I've seen,
00:52:59 --> 00:53:01 of course, the games I've seen, they all won. But, you know,
00:53:01 --> 00:53:08 I think one, they have the momentum, you know, of course, coming off last year, that's number one.
00:53:09 --> 00:53:16 And then two, you know, I just feel like Jalen Hurts is a, you know, a great quarterback.
00:53:17 --> 00:53:18 And other than that, you know.
00:53:19 --> 00:53:23 Even though I may not watch the Eagles, I'm definitely an Eagles fan,
00:53:23 --> 00:53:26 and I'm going to root for them, and I'm going to speak positive words.
00:53:29 --> 00:53:34 Speak positive words, okay. Mr. Positive over here, okay. All right.
00:53:35 --> 00:53:37 Well, and my thinking is this, okay.
00:53:38 --> 00:53:42 All right, break it down, Stephen A. Oh, no, no, no. I'm sorry,
00:53:42 --> 00:53:44 David A. No, no, don't call me Stephen A.
00:53:45 --> 00:53:48 Stephen A is kind of in hot water these days all the time. Yeah.
00:53:49 --> 00:53:54 David A. I'm inside David P I think the Eagles can definitely get back to the
00:53:54 --> 00:54:00 Super Bowl and they probably will win it if they get there, they probably will win I mean,
00:54:00 --> 00:54:09 one thing we've learned about the Eagles if you put them in a situation to get into a big game,
00:54:10 --> 00:54:16 they'll probably go ahead and get to that game and probably win it's been an
00:54:16 --> 00:54:21 interesting year so far and because the offense is not playing like they did last year,
00:54:22 --> 00:54:26 but their defense is starting to play very, very well.
00:54:26 --> 00:54:31 And these guys have beaten a lot of teams that everybody thought that they would lose to.
00:54:31 --> 00:54:35 They're 8-2 right now with seven games still left to play.
00:54:37 --> 00:54:40 You know, I think that they're probably going to finish one of the top three
00:54:40 --> 00:54:43 teams in the league going into the playoffs.
00:54:43 --> 00:54:50 So we'll see. We'll see what happens. I think they will do enough to be able to win.
00:54:51 --> 00:54:54 Like you said, Jalen Hurts is a great quarterback.
00:54:55 --> 00:55:01 He may not be the best quarterback in the league, but he's the best quarterback for this team.
00:55:02 --> 00:55:07 You know, because all he does is win, man. All he does is win.
00:55:07 --> 00:55:09 So it's going to be interesting.
00:55:09 --> 00:55:13 You know, that is a question as
00:55:13 --> 00:55:16 far as what we think about what's going to happen the rest of the season.
00:55:16 --> 00:55:19 After all, we've already crossed the halfway point.
00:55:20 --> 00:55:24 This is definitely where we start looking at the long-range plan,
00:55:25 --> 00:55:29 which is the Super Bowl, getting to the playoffs and the Super Bowl.
00:55:29 --> 00:55:33 So as long as everybody stays healthy, let's go birds.
00:55:33 --> 00:55:36 That's the way I feel about it. It is.
00:55:37 --> 00:55:41 Yeah, there you go. There you go. I know we got a lot of Eagle fans to listen
00:55:41 --> 00:55:46 to the show, so definitely let's root our team, you know, to victory.
00:55:46 --> 00:55:52 You know, let's spell it like the mayor, mayor, Philadelphia.
00:55:52 --> 00:55:58 What did she say? E-G-L-E-G. Yeah, that was all mixed up.
00:55:59 --> 00:56:04 I know. And she was so proud. And she's a former English teacher,
00:56:04 --> 00:56:07 too. She spelled Eagles wrong.
00:56:08 --> 00:56:11 But anyway, well, there you have it, folks.
00:56:11 --> 00:56:16 That's our show for tonight and this week.
00:56:16 --> 00:56:20 And, you know, definitely if you have any comments, definitely...
00:56:21 --> 00:56:25 Definitely make sure you reach out to us and let us know. And I want to make a correction.
00:56:27 --> 00:56:35 I said the book signing is tomorrow. It's actually tonight.
00:56:36 --> 00:56:41 So November 18th, 6 to 730.
00:56:41 --> 00:56:46 So you can always go to the book signing and then listen to us afterwards.
00:56:46 --> 00:56:50 There you go. How about that? Always do this. There you go. But I want to make
00:56:50 --> 00:56:52 sure I gave the right information.
00:56:52 --> 00:56:55 So, but thank you again for taking the time to listen to our show.
00:56:55 --> 00:56:57 We really appreciate you guys.
