00:00:21 --> 00:00:27 Talk to him, Luke. How could I possibly be inconspicuous? With my flow is f***ing ridiculous.
00:00:27 --> 00:00:29 There's quite an accent. See, I'm from the south.
00:00:30 --> 00:00:34 Welcome, welcome, welcome to News and Trends with Dave and Lynn,
00:00:34 --> 00:00:38 now part of the MPG Podcast Network.
00:00:38 --> 00:00:45 You're talking with one of your hosts you're not talking to me I'm talking to
00:00:45 --> 00:00:48 you I'm sorry about that you're listening to one of your,
00:00:49 --> 00:00:54 that's Leonard messing with me folks you're listening to one of your hosts yeah
00:00:54 --> 00:00:57 no you're going to deny it you're listening to one of your hosts Mr.
00:00:57 --> 00:01:01 David Coker proprietor of Dave Mark Ying promoter, event planner and all around
00:01:01 --> 00:01:05 good guy hanging out with my partner Mr. Leonard Young what's happening sir?
00:01:05 --> 00:01:10 Hey Dave everything is good this is Leonard Young CEO of National Black Guide,
00:01:10 --> 00:01:16 DelawareBlack.com, black media specialist, all-around good guy. How good was it, Dave?
00:01:16 --> 00:01:19 Man, I can't call it. One day at a time.
00:01:20 --> 00:01:24 Basically. Yeah, that's what it is. One day at a time, man.
00:01:24 --> 00:01:28 Watching the leaves turn and the weather change.
00:01:29 --> 00:01:30 Even though we've had some nice weather.
00:01:31 --> 00:01:35 Yeah, today was real nice. Today was, and yesterday was nice.
00:01:36 --> 00:01:39 Yeah. But then, you know, as the week goes along, it's supposed to get cooler,
00:01:39 --> 00:01:41 you know, and then get warmer again.
00:01:42 --> 00:01:47 So, folks, if you don't think there's anything out there called global warming,
00:01:47 --> 00:01:52 you better look again because we got some strange thing going on with this weather right now.
00:01:53 --> 00:01:59 And then you look, you know, you know, it's been colder out west than it has been here.
00:02:00 --> 00:02:05 Yeah, I believe it. I mean, ever since Texas had that ice, you know,
00:02:05 --> 00:02:08 that that sheet of ice that was on a couple of years ago. Yeah.
00:02:08 --> 00:02:12 You know, I don't doubt anything anymore as far as weather.
00:02:13 --> 00:02:16 Yeah, there was even snow in California. What was it, about two years ago?
00:02:17 --> 00:02:19 They got flurries or something in California.
00:02:19 --> 00:02:23 And outside of Los Angeles, a friend of mine told me, I said,
00:02:23 --> 00:02:25 are you serious? They said, yeah, for real. Oh, wow.
00:02:26 --> 00:02:28 And, you know, of course, it's been snowing down south lately,
00:02:29 --> 00:02:31 you know, Atlanta and those kind of places.
00:02:31 --> 00:02:35 And, you know, I'm just like, man, this is so crazy.
00:02:35 --> 00:02:38 It's so turned around right now. you know
00:02:38 --> 00:02:44 i mean you know things are crazy when you know good morning america had snoop
00:02:44 --> 00:02:50 on during the weather i saw that wasn't that hilarious man yeah that was that
00:02:50 --> 00:02:55 was too funny but snoop perfect guy to do it you know and you know he made something
00:02:55 --> 00:02:58 that we know he's serious about,
00:02:58 --> 00:03:02 hilarious you know what i mean you know yeah well you
00:03:02 --> 00:03:06 know david it's amazing to me because you
00:03:06 --> 00:03:09 know just how far we have come like i remember watching
00:03:09 --> 00:03:12 the news with my grandparents when i was little and the
00:03:12 --> 00:03:15 news was like so dry you know and i mean
00:03:15 --> 00:03:20 it was what it was but you know like dan rather and you know all those barbara
00:03:20 --> 00:03:26 walter dry but you know now it's like the most popular news stations are the
00:03:26 --> 00:03:30 ones that kind of have some humor that you know they're doing little skits that
00:03:30 --> 00:03:35 one weatherman in Charlotte dancing and rap. He got all the back dancing.
00:03:37 --> 00:03:40 There's one that raps the weather.
00:03:41 --> 00:03:47 Even in Philadelphia, Fox 29, they're hilarious. Always joking.
00:03:48 --> 00:03:53 Long story short, the newscasters are almost like their personalities.
00:03:53 --> 00:03:59 They have personalities. Back in the day, it was just dry, dry, dry, dry.
00:04:00 --> 00:04:07 I think all of that changed when ESPN came about because of the personality
00:04:07 --> 00:04:11 that they had on their sports talent.
00:04:11 --> 00:04:15 Because, you know, guys like Stuart Scott and a couple other guys, or Stephen A.
00:04:15 --> 00:04:21 Smith, they were all hip dudes, you know, and they were about the culture, you know.
00:04:21 --> 00:04:25 And and so now because you
00:04:25 --> 00:04:28 look at instagram and tiktok and you look at some of these weather
00:04:28 --> 00:04:31 girls and oh yeah and news oh you
00:04:31 --> 00:04:34 know this ain't doing this ain't the news you used to watch
00:04:34 --> 00:04:38 when you were kids you know right now you know so so
00:04:38 --> 00:04:41 it is different they of course they got to do what
00:04:41 --> 00:04:44 they have to do in order to keep people interested and engaged
00:04:44 --> 00:04:47 because basically if you listen to what they're
00:04:47 --> 00:04:50 talking about all of it is craziness you know in the
00:04:50 --> 00:04:55 world today and you know but they got to make it interesting they got to make
00:04:55 --> 00:04:59 it more visual for those who are watching to keep them interested and keep them
00:04:59 --> 00:05:04 engaged because of course now quite naturally on a percentage how many people
00:05:04 --> 00:05:09 do you actually think on a percentage wise you think still watch the news.
00:05:10 --> 00:05:15 So, morning news, I'd say a much higher percentage.
00:05:15 --> 00:05:20 To be honest, Dave, does the evening news still come on? I don't know.
00:05:22 --> 00:05:25 I really don't know. They still come on. Yeah.
00:05:26 --> 00:05:30 Okay. But the 11 o'clock news is still very popular.
00:05:30 --> 00:05:36 You know, the 11 o'clock news still, you know, I even watch channel 10 news
00:05:36 --> 00:05:40 from time to time. because I always watch the lead into Jimmy Fallon because
00:05:40 --> 00:05:42 I always watch the Jimmy Fallon show.
00:05:43 --> 00:05:49 So, but, you know, news is just different nowadays, man, when you look at it. Right.
00:05:50 --> 00:05:53 And, you know, they got to do something. They got to have gimmicks.
00:05:53 --> 00:05:55 They got to have a little bit of everything.
00:05:55 --> 00:05:59 And you look at those shows like The Morning America and, you know,
00:05:59 --> 00:06:05 like The View and all those kind of shows, you know, they have things that keep
00:06:05 --> 00:06:06 you tuned in. You know what I mean?
00:06:07 --> 00:06:13 And then when you get into the talk shows, you know, like the Sherry's and the
00:06:13 --> 00:06:17 Jennifer Hudson's, even with them, they have to do certain things that's going
00:06:17 --> 00:06:19 to get people to tune in, too.
00:06:19 --> 00:06:25 So the look at their sets, you know, they try to appeal to a diversified crowd.
00:06:26 --> 00:06:29 You know, Jennifer has that thing. You see the thing that Jennifer does with
00:06:29 --> 00:06:32 the lead in the coolest thing, man.
00:06:32 --> 00:06:38 That is pretty cool. You know, and if you ever go to the comments,
00:06:38 --> 00:06:42 the comments are real funny because I'm a comments person. I go straight to the comments on this.
00:06:43 --> 00:06:47 And the comments were like, you know, people want people said,
00:06:47 --> 00:06:49 I want to apply for that job.
00:06:49 --> 00:06:54 You know, people want to be in that line to have those people come through.
00:06:54 --> 00:06:57 And just the reaction of the guests.
00:06:57 --> 00:07:02 Now, these are people who are well-established, you know, some of them superstars or whatever.
00:07:02 --> 00:07:08 And just their reaction when they walk through there is priceless you know and
00:07:08 --> 00:07:12 of course you know because they're singing their songs or they're singing you
00:07:12 --> 00:07:16 know something about them and of course they dance their way through,
00:07:17 --> 00:07:21 You know, it's really, you know, it's really cool, but that's what you got to
00:07:21 --> 00:07:23 do these days to get people to tune in, you know?
00:07:24 --> 00:07:28 And that's why we are who we are, because we do the things that we do in order
00:07:28 --> 00:07:31 for people to tune into news and trends with Dave and Len. Right.
00:07:32 --> 00:07:36 Isn't that what it's all about? I mean, that, that, that's what they say.
00:07:36 --> 00:07:39 So, I mean, you know, they, they come on from my personality and your knowledge.
00:07:40 --> 00:07:45 Yeah, there you go. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Okay. I'll let you have that. Okay.
00:07:46 --> 00:07:50 Matter of fact, Just to show you people how serious we are.
00:07:50 --> 00:07:54 Didn't you say we had a couple of recent people to write in about us?
00:07:55 --> 00:07:59 Yeah. So, of course, Dave and our listening audience, we always like when people
00:07:59 --> 00:08:03 write reviews and rate us on the different podcast apps because,
00:08:04 --> 00:08:07 of course, it helps the algorithm expose us to more people.
00:08:08 --> 00:08:12 So there was a review that came in that I thought was pretty cool.
00:08:13 --> 00:08:17 And, of course, I probably should have had it queued up. But let me. Oh, yeah.
00:08:18 --> 00:08:20 Let me bring it up. You didn't think you were the brains, right?
00:08:21 --> 00:08:24 Well, no, I said I was a personality. Oh, you said you were a personality.
00:08:24 --> 00:08:28 Okay, yeah. Okay. All right. So, Dave, here it is. Here it is.
00:08:28 --> 00:08:32 Here it is. Here it is, Dave. Hey, I got it. I got it. I'm ready.
00:08:32 --> 00:08:35 Ready, Dave? Set them up. I tried to set them up. I know you.
00:08:37 --> 00:08:41 Go ahead. Go ahead. Yep. So, this is one we got just recently.
00:08:41 --> 00:08:44 And I think that maybe somebody we know, but I just don't recognize the username.
00:08:46 --> 00:08:50 Cariously, I believe. But anyway, so, Dave, this was a really great review.
00:08:50 --> 00:08:53 Is the title says a must listen from
00:08:53 --> 00:08:56 start to finish so and the description says from
00:08:56 --> 00:08:59 its very first episode news and trends with
00:08:59 --> 00:09:02 dave and lynn has constantly delivered top-notch content
00:09:02 --> 00:09:05 that keep me coming back for more the hosts
00:09:05 --> 00:09:09 bring a perfect blend of wit knowledge and
00:09:09 --> 00:09:11 engaging storytelling that makes
00:09:11 --> 00:09:15 each episode a highlight of my week and dave
00:09:15 --> 00:09:20 this is the only part i think she was a little off on or i'm
00:09:20 --> 00:09:23 sorry he or she so they said they said
00:09:23 --> 00:09:27 i particularly love dave's corner the hosts
00:09:27 --> 00:09:30 are good guys their insights and humor are always the
00:09:30 --> 00:09:35 cherry on top of an already great show i've been a dedicated listener since
00:09:35 --> 00:09:41 the beginning and i can't wait and i and i can't recommend this podcast enough
00:09:41 --> 00:09:47 for anyone seeking both entertainment and enlightenment enlightenment And thank you, News and Trend,
00:09:47 --> 00:09:51 Dave and Lynn, for being a constant source of inspiration and joy.
00:09:52 --> 00:09:55 So we definitely want to thank Carrius League.
00:09:56 --> 00:09:59 And Dave, I think we know who it is. Probably this week we'll probably confirm.
00:10:00 --> 00:10:03 And we may have to bring him on the show one time. Yeah, yeah,
00:10:04 --> 00:10:08 yeah. And actually, that is something, folks, that we are talking about doing.
00:10:08 --> 00:10:13 Some of the listeners that have been with us for, you know, basically since
00:10:13 --> 00:10:16 the start or whatever, Keep in mind, when we say since the start,
00:10:16 --> 00:10:21 next month, it's all about going into our fourth year of doing this show.
00:10:22 --> 00:10:27 So that's been a nice run for those people who said they have been there from
00:10:27 --> 00:10:29 the start. That's a nice run.
00:10:29 --> 00:10:35 So just keep that in mind, considering that the average podcast doesn't go past the year.
00:10:37 --> 00:10:41 And in fact, the average podcast might not even go. Because,
00:10:41 --> 00:10:43 you know, podcasting is a lot of work. I mean, we do it every week.
00:10:44 --> 00:10:47 Dave, you know how many times I look, I'll go to people's pages and they say
00:10:47 --> 00:10:52 they have a podcast and I'll go, I'll go look at the podcast and it's literally
00:10:52 --> 00:10:57 like, you know, maybe four or five episodes and then it kind of died off into the sunset.
00:10:57 --> 00:10:59 Yeah, yeah. Because it is a commitment.
00:11:01 --> 00:11:09 It has to be a labor of love in order to do it consistently and so forth.
00:11:09 --> 00:11:14 But I know we've tried to do it each and every week for you guys and tried to bring content.
00:11:15 --> 00:11:19 And that's another thing, too, is finding content to talk about every week,
00:11:19 --> 00:11:21 even though there's a lot of stuff going on.
00:11:22 --> 00:11:26 But, of course, there's a couple of lanes that we can be in each and every week.
00:11:26 --> 00:11:31 But we try not to do that. We try to give you something different all the time.
00:11:31 --> 00:11:36 So, but thank you for those that are listening. That was the only one you see at the moment.
00:11:36 --> 00:11:40 Well, I mean, you know, of course, one from another person, a Laker man.
00:11:40 --> 00:11:42 I don't know, but we'll skip that one.
00:11:44 --> 00:11:45 Okay.
00:11:47 --> 00:11:48 This is too funny.
00:11:53 --> 00:11:56 So we will go here to get started with it.
00:11:56 --> 00:12:01 So, like I said, we are part of the MBG Podcast Network now,
00:12:01 --> 00:12:05 and Lem will tell you a little bit more about that at the end of the show if
00:12:05 --> 00:12:07 you haven't already heard about it,
00:12:07 --> 00:12:11 but some big and exciting things are going on with the MBG Podcast Network,
00:12:11 --> 00:12:14 so stay tuned to hear about that later, okay?
00:12:15 --> 00:12:22 All right, so I wanted to kind of talk a little bit about something I came across.
00:12:24 --> 00:12:30 Earlier. And, you know, now, reportedly, this is this has happened.
00:12:30 --> 00:12:31 This has recently happened.
00:12:32 --> 00:12:34 Wait, hold on. We are jumping the gun.
00:12:36 --> 00:12:42 Reportedly, this has happened recently. And, you know, allegedly, this is what's going on.
00:12:42 --> 00:12:47 But I wanted I wanted Leonard to play this, this video audio.
00:12:47 --> 00:12:50 And then we're going to have a little conversation about it afterwards.
00:12:51 --> 00:12:57 This past Sunday, the congregation at the potter's house was left in shock as renowned Pastor T.D.
00:12:57 --> 00:12:59 Jakes burst into tears on stage.
00:12:59 --> 00:13:01 The reason for his emotional outburst?
00:13:02 --> 00:13:06 His wife, Sarita Jakes, had just announced to the world that she was leaving
00:13:06 --> 00:13:12 him, the tension in the air was palpable, as Sarita took the microphone and spoke just three words.
00:13:12 --> 00:13:17 I'm leaving you. Those words seemed to hang in the air for what felt like an
00:13:17 --> 00:13:20 eternity, leaving the audience stunned and completely silent.
00:13:21 --> 00:13:25 T.D. Jakes, known for his powerful sermons and charismatic personality,
00:13:25 --> 00:13:30 was visibly shaken by his wife's unexpected announcement, as Sarita continued
00:13:30 --> 00:13:33 to speak, explaining her reasons for leaving, T.D.
00:13:33 --> 00:13:35 Jakes struggled to maintain his composure.
00:13:36 --> 00:13:41 Tears flowed freely down his face as he tried to process the news that his partner
00:13:41 --> 00:13:45 of over 30 years was walking away from their marriage, the congregation,
00:13:45 --> 00:13:49 who had come expecting a message of hope and inspiration from their beloved pastor,
00:13:50 --> 00:13:53 watched in disbelief as T.D. Jakes openly wept on stage.
00:13:53 --> 00:13:58 The scene was heart-wrenching and raw, a stark contrast to the normally compassed
00:13:58 --> 00:14:02 and confident preacher they were used to seeing, as Sarita finished speaking
00:14:02 --> 00:14:04 and walked off stage, T.D.
00:14:04 --> 00:14:09 Jakes stood in stunned silence, his tears a stark reminder of the pain and heartache
00:14:09 --> 00:14:11 that can come with relationships.
00:14:11 --> 00:14:17 The congregation sat in silence, unsure of how to react to this unexpected turn of events.
00:14:17 --> 00:14:21 In the days that followed, rumors swirled about the reasons behind Sarita.
00:14:22 --> 00:14:24 Okay, that was it.
00:14:25 --> 00:14:33 So, of course, folks, we've been hearing a lot of different things about, of course, T.D.
00:14:33 --> 00:14:37 Jakes and in relationship to his
00:14:37 --> 00:14:42 personal life and in relationship to his connection into on city calls.
00:14:44 --> 00:14:49 You know, I had seen prior that there was some kind of rumbling going on that
00:14:49 --> 00:14:52 their marriage was in trouble as well.
00:14:53 --> 00:14:59 Now, you know, this is, of course, you know, the story is what it is.
00:14:59 --> 00:15:02 I mean, you know, you know, T.D.
00:15:02 --> 00:15:12 Jakes has always been a person that everybody looked up to who, you know, had any type of.
00:15:14 --> 00:15:18 Church background who you
00:15:18 --> 00:15:21 know believes in god and you know because he's always been
00:15:21 --> 00:15:23 such a powerful speaker you know he was the
00:15:23 --> 00:15:26 preacher to the stars you know i mean he's done
00:15:26 --> 00:15:32 a lot of things a lot of people went to him for you know his words of wisdom
00:15:32 --> 00:15:40 and all types of things when you when you look people who have such high esteem
00:15:40 --> 00:15:43 in your life when you're coming up i mean Because, you know, T.D.
00:15:43 --> 00:15:47 Jakes has been around for a while, just like, you know, when you look at some
00:15:47 --> 00:15:51 of these other fallen celebrities who have been around for a while.
00:15:51 --> 00:15:56 You know, and then you have to look at them kind of differently because of all
00:15:56 --> 00:15:58 that seems to be swirling around them.
00:15:58 --> 00:16:01 You know for people who
00:16:01 --> 00:16:04 are listening or listen to that story
00:16:04 --> 00:16:07 you know and even you know yourself how
00:16:07 --> 00:16:09 do you feel when you hear you know
00:16:09 --> 00:16:12 somebody that you held in and that's
00:16:12 --> 00:16:15 if you held this person in high esteem somebody that
00:16:15 --> 00:16:18 you held in such high esteem you know
00:16:18 --> 00:16:22 all of a sudden find their lives allegedly in
00:16:22 --> 00:16:26 this type of craziness or you
00:16:26 --> 00:16:30 know trouble or whatever way you want to put it what do you think when you hear
00:16:30 --> 00:16:35 things like this about people you are yes i mean i think as far as the t to
00:16:35 --> 00:16:39 be honest the td jake's thing i just don't believe that because i feel like
00:16:39 --> 00:16:45 if that really happened we'd be hearing about it everywhere you know i mean i see it on social media,
00:16:45 --> 00:16:49 but I don't see it on no websites or on TV or anything like that.
00:16:50 --> 00:16:58 But just regarding people we look up to, role models and all these people, I can honestly say.
00:16:59 --> 00:17:02 I don't believe anything I see on social media half the time.
00:17:03 --> 00:17:08 And I only say because I feel like now, you know, we get let down every three to six months.
00:17:09 --> 00:17:11 In fact, to be honest, it may be every three to six weeks.
00:17:12 --> 00:17:18 So for a long time, I can definitely say I don't idolize anybody I see online.
00:17:18 --> 00:17:22 I don't, you know, I don't relish anything they have.
00:17:22 --> 00:17:24 I don't see any of my role models.
00:17:25 --> 00:17:28 Now for a long time and and Dave please
00:17:28 --> 00:17:31 I I hope I never said it on a news
00:17:31 --> 00:17:34 and trends with Dave and Lynn but you know I was
00:17:34 --> 00:17:38 a Puff Daddy fan and one of the things I liked about him was just kind of like
00:17:38 --> 00:17:42 how he started I mean you know not not the dropping out of Howard University
00:17:42 --> 00:17:47 parts but you know just kind of how he started in industry and he was a hustler
00:17:47 --> 00:17:51 and I kind of always liked that that path that he was on.
00:17:52 --> 00:17:57 But, you know, I mean, of course, you know, Puff Dad, we heard things over the years.
00:17:57 --> 00:18:00 I feel like Will Smith, we heard things over the years. Kevin Hart,
00:18:01 --> 00:18:02 we heard things over the years.
00:18:02 --> 00:18:05 And there's probably other people we've heard things, but, you know,
00:18:06 --> 00:18:09 once something big breaks out, then we'll be, you know, we'll start connecting
00:18:09 --> 00:18:11 all the dots, all the videos start coming up.
00:18:12 --> 00:18:16 But, you know, for the most part, I don't, I don't really idolize anybody.
00:18:16 --> 00:18:22 And so, you know, when I hear some of these disappointments and accusations
00:18:22 --> 00:18:29 and, you know, testimonies of other people, I'm not I'm not surprised and I'm
00:18:29 --> 00:18:30 not hurt by them. Well, what about you?
00:18:31 --> 00:18:36 You know, and I like the path that you took on that. I understand.
00:18:37 --> 00:18:44 You know, I go back to a time before social media, and I remember a scandal
00:18:44 --> 00:18:49 that kind of hit, that kind of threw everybody for a loop.
00:18:49 --> 00:18:53 Matter of fact, they just recently made a movie about it, about, you know,
00:18:54 --> 00:19:00 and also having to involve a preacher and his wife, which was the story about
00:19:00 --> 00:19:06 Jim Baker and his wife the PTL stuff you saw the movie?
00:19:07 --> 00:19:09 Yeah I did yeah yeah yeah.
00:19:13 --> 00:19:18 And I remember all of that very clearly because one thing you couldn't turn on the TV,
00:19:19 --> 00:19:24 every day without seeing them too I mean it was they were everywhere and they,
00:19:25 --> 00:19:29 were making money Leonard they were killing it you know what I mean,
00:19:30 --> 00:19:33 and they had everything when they built
00:19:33 --> 00:19:38 up that whole ptl club and you know everything that came with it and everything
00:19:38 --> 00:19:44 they had so much money man and so much going on you know and and you know basically
00:19:44 --> 00:19:51 as i think back to a lot of the same stuff that they're saying about jakes,
00:19:52 --> 00:19:55 went on with Jim Baker and,
00:19:57 --> 00:19:58 Tammy Faye.
00:19:58 --> 00:20:07 Well, not so much what they're saying about Jake's wife, but Jim Baker definitely had a secret life.
00:20:09 --> 00:20:15 I just remember how that scandal hit prior to social media.
00:20:15 --> 00:20:18 Can you imagine if social media was around when that happened?
00:20:18 --> 00:20:23 And because that was big when it happened i mean it was like and you're talking
00:20:23 --> 00:20:29 about the fall from grace man it was it was a big drop it was a big drop so
00:20:29 --> 00:20:34 when i see stuff like this and you know you think about these people you know
00:20:34 --> 00:20:37 that seem bigger than life we also always have to remember,
00:20:38 --> 00:20:43 one very important thing they're only human definitely yeah.
00:20:44 --> 00:20:51 And, you know, and because they're humans, they do human things.
00:20:51 --> 00:20:55 They live human lives outside of the glitz and the glamour.
00:20:55 --> 00:21:00 They make human decisions outside of the glitz and the glamour.
00:21:00 --> 00:21:07 So, you know, we all, anything's getting, the decisions get harder and the decisions
00:21:07 --> 00:21:11 can be worse as you get money and as you become more popular.
00:21:11 --> 00:21:17 Because you imagine if you were if you became a multi-billionaire or a billionaire
00:21:17 --> 00:21:22 or multimillionaire and you had all this money at your at your fingertips,
00:21:22 --> 00:21:25 like you will in a couple of years. Right.
00:21:25 --> 00:21:30 Speak it. You know, you got all and you won't look the new the show will just
00:21:30 --> 00:21:32 be called News and Trends with Len. Yeah.
00:21:33 --> 00:21:36 Then that's because you don't know who Dave is anymore.
00:21:37 --> 00:21:40 You don't know who Dave is anymore. And in fact, Dave, say it one more time
00:21:40 --> 00:21:42 because it sounded real good.
00:21:42 --> 00:21:47 Yeah, news and trends with lead. There you go. Because you don't know who Dave
00:21:47 --> 00:21:49 Coker is anymore. But anyway, that's a little story.
00:21:50 --> 00:21:55 So what happens, folks, just remember, I said two years prior to it happening. OK, so.
00:21:55 --> 00:22:00 But when when you get that kind of money in your in your possession and you
00:22:00 --> 00:22:05 start looking at things differently and you start buying things that you thought you could never buy,
00:22:05 --> 00:22:12 you ever listen to Steve Harvey when Steve Harvey does his closing remarks sometimes?
00:22:12 --> 00:22:15 Yeah and he talks about you know
00:22:15 --> 00:22:18 hey you know i did this and i
00:22:18 --> 00:22:20 did that you know i wasn't always rich i wasn't
00:22:20 --> 00:22:25 all i didn't have all of these things all in my life he said remember i lived
00:22:25 --> 00:22:30 in my car you know he said you know i was going to work every day and sleeping
00:22:30 --> 00:22:34 in my car you know so when he you know you hear him say those type of things
00:22:34 --> 00:22:38 you know all the time you know and And, you know, he said,
00:22:39 --> 00:22:41 now, he said, he said,
00:22:42 --> 00:22:47 you know, I don't have to do that anymore. You know, I don't even drive anymore.
00:22:47 --> 00:22:51 He said, I have people that drive me, you know, you know, this is,
00:22:51 --> 00:22:55 you know, so when you hear those types of things and you see how quickly,
00:22:55 --> 00:22:59 you know, your life can change if you become successful.
00:23:01 --> 00:23:04 The whole thing, it's about staying on
00:23:04 --> 00:23:07 top because there's so many things that
00:23:07 --> 00:23:11 can knock you off your pedestal so many things and
00:23:11 --> 00:23:14 they don't have to be big things all it takes is one
00:23:14 --> 00:23:18 little thing it's like that game jenga one
00:23:18 --> 00:23:21 world move and it comes tumbling down you
00:23:21 --> 00:23:25 know one wrong move and everything's false
00:23:25 --> 00:23:30 and a lot of these guys a lot of these people we've been reading about lately
00:23:30 --> 00:23:36 and hearing about lately we're waiting for you know the the tower is shaky right
00:23:36 --> 00:23:42 now you know what i mean we're just waiting on that one peg to be pulled out that's gonna,
00:23:42 --> 00:23:47 crumble everything and unfortunately you
00:23:47 --> 00:23:53 know we some of the people that we cared about we we love to listen to we love
00:23:53 --> 00:24:00 you know music wise or you know when it came to preaching and singing all types
00:24:00 --> 00:24:04 of things because it's so many different pieces to this thing right now,
00:24:04 --> 00:24:10 You know, everybody There's a lot of different people from a lot of different Areas caught up in this,
00:24:11 --> 00:24:16 And when the story is finally told, who's going to be left standing is the question.
00:24:17 --> 00:24:20 Because I have a feeling very few people will be.
00:24:21 --> 00:24:25 So just wanted to put some food for thought out there.
00:24:27 --> 00:24:33 I'm sure we'll hear more, find out about the official story as far as the Jakes
00:24:33 --> 00:24:36 are concerned and as far as anything else is concerned.
00:24:37 --> 00:24:39 But it's sad. It really is.
00:24:40 --> 00:24:45 Because when you look at the people that you've grown to respect and grown to
00:24:45 --> 00:24:50 love to hear and listen to, and then you find out, you know,
00:24:50 --> 00:24:55 there's another side or there could be some other things going on.
00:24:55 --> 00:24:57 It's just like with R. Kelly.
00:24:57 --> 00:25:03 You know, we knew R. Kelly's had his issues, but we didn't realize it was as
00:25:03 --> 00:25:05 bad as it was until, you know, he ended up in jail.
00:25:06 --> 00:25:10 But even still, if you ever look at a clip, When they play a R.
00:25:10 --> 00:25:15 Kelly song, you ever go on Instagram or when you see R. Kelly,
00:25:15 --> 00:25:16 they might put something.
00:25:16 --> 00:25:19 When you go to the comments, Leonard, ain't nothing beloved there.
00:25:21 --> 00:25:27 Yeah. A lot of songs, classics. Yeah. People will say, I still listen to R. Kelly. Let them go.
00:25:28 --> 00:25:31 Release them. Have you ever seen those comments? Yeah.
00:25:31 --> 00:25:37 I mean, they do those for everybody who get locked up for whatever reason.
00:25:38 --> 00:25:41 Yeah, but they really love R. Kelly. They really do. Yeah.
00:25:41 --> 00:25:46 So regardless, they're ready to they're ready to give him a pass,
00:25:46 --> 00:25:50 you know, if they let him go. So but anyway.
00:25:51 --> 00:25:55 That's our thoughts on that for now. If you have your thoughts on it,
00:25:55 --> 00:25:56 feel free to share with us.
00:25:57 --> 00:26:02 You can go to our page and just post something there and let us know.
00:26:03 --> 00:26:09 All right. Moving on to our next story. So, Dave, this story is pretty interesting,
00:26:09 --> 00:26:13 and I believe the results were just announced today.
00:26:13 --> 00:26:18 So we're literally, well, it ain't breaking news, but we're re-breaking it.
00:26:18 --> 00:26:22 So there was a, what
00:26:22 --> 00:26:28 looks like a federal judge in New York ordered former New York City Mayor Rudy
00:26:28 --> 00:26:36 Giuliani to turn over his New York apartment and valuables to the former Georgia
00:26:36 --> 00:26:39 election workers that he defamed.
00:26:39 --> 00:26:45 And of course, those George, former Georgia election workers just happened to be black women.
00:26:46 --> 00:26:49 So with that dave and i'm i'm
00:26:49 --> 00:26:53 trying to find the okay so
00:26:53 --> 00:26:56 this is what giuliani has to turn
00:26:56 --> 00:26:59 over to these two black women he has to
00:26:59 --> 00:27:02 turn over his new york city apartment
00:27:02 --> 00:27:09 which is supposedly valued at multiple million dollars i'm sorry valued at 5.7
00:27:09 --> 00:27:16 million dollars his collection of luxury watches including watches gifted to
00:27:16 --> 00:27:20 him by his grandfather and the French president.
00:27:20 --> 00:27:29 He also has to give over a signed Joe DiMaggio jersey, a signed Reggie Jackson picture.
00:27:30 --> 00:27:38 A classic historic 1980 Mercedes, previously owned by actress Lauren Bacall.
00:27:39 --> 00:27:44 And then he, some, and it says some items not included in the decision,
00:27:44 --> 00:27:47 but he may have to give as well our world,
00:27:48 --> 00:27:55 New York Yankee World Series rings and possibly a condo in Florida.
00:27:56 --> 00:27:58 So some of those other items are going to be determined at a later date.
00:27:59 --> 00:28:03 And, you know, this all goes back to when I don't know.
00:28:03 --> 00:28:06 Well, I'm sure you remember because you're a news junkie.
00:28:06 --> 00:28:12 But for anybody listening, this goes back to when Giuliani began repeatedly
00:28:12 --> 00:28:14 accusing these two ladies,
00:28:14 --> 00:28:20 black ladies who are mother and daughter of election fraud in the Trump and
00:28:20 --> 00:28:23 in the wake of Trump's loss in Georgia.
00:28:23 --> 00:28:30 He also circulated a brief, heavily edited clip of security footage that kind
00:28:30 --> 00:28:33 of made them look like they were passing USB drives,
00:28:34 --> 00:28:39 almost like someone may be passing cocaine, heroin or some other type of drugs.
00:28:39 --> 00:28:45 So, you know, Dave, this is really a groundbreaking judgment in this case,
00:28:45 --> 00:28:46 because, I mean, think about it.
00:28:47 --> 00:28:51 All the times when we see people online and they're trolling people,
00:28:51 --> 00:28:59 can you imagine them suing and not only winning, but acquiring the assets of
00:28:59 --> 00:29:02 the person who was trolling them? Can you imagine that?
00:29:03 --> 00:29:06 Yeah, yeah, it's crazy. It really is.
00:29:07 --> 00:29:14 And here I just said what I said in the last story about people from falling,
00:29:14 --> 00:29:19 and taking big falls because things they've done,
00:29:20 --> 00:29:24 nobody has fallen as far as that dude has well,
00:29:27 --> 00:29:32 we got to see what comes out in the next couple weeks too that's true but I'm
00:29:32 --> 00:29:37 just saying right now because that guy was on top of the world.
00:29:37 --> 00:29:41 I mean, you know, he was rated as one of the best governors New York ever had.
00:29:42 --> 00:29:48 You know, and, you know, he, you know, they loved him up there.
00:29:48 --> 00:29:52 And, you know, and he doesn't even seem like the same guy.
00:29:53 --> 00:29:58 No, he's not. You know, and then he gets wrapped up with Trump and doing all
00:29:58 --> 00:30:04 that stuff. And, you know, you know, Trump is basically disassociated himself from him.
00:30:05 --> 00:30:09 Yeah. Well, you know, also in the article, it mentions that the Trump campaign
00:30:09 --> 00:30:14 owes him two million dollars for services that he's still trying to collect.
00:30:16 --> 00:30:21 So when that money, when and if that money comes, it also goes to the black woman.
00:30:22 --> 00:30:25 So that's, you know, you're thinking about that.
00:30:26 --> 00:30:35 Think about it Giuliani had had money think about now you heard all that Leonard's
00:30:35 --> 00:30:41 folks you just heard all that stuff that Leonard said that these women are supposed to get from Giuliani,
00:30:42 --> 00:30:47 and that's not going to break him you know they didn't say he's going to be
00:30:47 --> 00:30:53 bankrupt or anything after that you know this man you know you know he's got
00:30:53 --> 00:30:57 property still in New York he's got property in florida you know you know so
00:30:57 --> 00:31:01 you know he was a prominent lawyer he was you know the guy.
00:31:03 --> 00:31:08 You know the fall from grace man i'll tell you it ain't no joke it really ain't
00:31:08 --> 00:31:15 you know and here it is you know he tried to beat these black women out of what
00:31:15 --> 00:31:17 they knew was their truth,
00:31:18 --> 00:31:24 and you know even i mean the fact that they still think that trump won that election,
00:31:25 --> 00:31:31 four years later is really crazy to me and they still think so you can almost
00:31:31 --> 00:31:35 imagine what's about to happen with the.
00:31:37 --> 00:31:43 With well in a couple weeks when this election is happening and you know they're
00:31:43 --> 00:31:46 still saying it's a close race you know they're really you know they're saying
00:31:46 --> 00:31:50 it's really yeah I was about to say I definitely believe it too,
00:31:51 --> 00:31:58 yeah and And, you know, if it's really like if it's like a difference of three
00:31:58 --> 00:32:00 or four percent in the voting,
00:32:01 --> 00:32:06 he ain't going away because he's going to try to find the vote. Oh, yeah, definitely.
00:32:07 --> 00:32:13 Yeah, he's going to try to find those votes. You know, it's really it's really a shame.
00:32:13 --> 00:32:19 And Giuliani, man, the fall, I'm telling you, you know, it's it's really crazy.
00:32:19 --> 00:32:24 I mean, you know, when you when you look at all that he has to give up to these
00:32:24 --> 00:32:30 women and more and my hat's off to the women because they fought and they won.
00:32:30 --> 00:32:36 You know, they knew they didn't do anything wrong and they were able to prove
00:32:36 --> 00:32:37 it. Who represented them?
00:32:37 --> 00:32:40 Was that Crump or did he do that?
00:32:40 --> 00:32:44 No, this. So the article does not.
00:32:45 --> 00:32:49 Okay, so it was a company called Lint Limon.
00:32:51 --> 00:32:54 So it's probably somebody based out of the area. Okay.
00:32:55 --> 00:32:59 Okay. All right, well, my kudos to them.
00:32:59 --> 00:33:03 And now let's see if they get everything they're supposed to get.
00:33:03 --> 00:33:10 Because Giuliani is right now not known for giving up things so easily these days.
00:33:10 --> 00:33:17 Well, the judge says that his New York apartment had to be turned over to the
00:33:17 --> 00:33:21 mother daughter within seven days.
00:33:21 --> 00:33:24 So, I mean, at least seven days, they will have control of that apartment to
00:33:24 --> 00:33:26 sell it under their names.
00:33:28 --> 00:33:33 So, I mean, you said to sell? Yes. Yeah.
00:33:33 --> 00:33:37 So did they say the apartment was already paid for?
00:33:38 --> 00:33:41 I'm not sure. I mean, I would assume so. It does not say it,
00:33:41 --> 00:33:43 but it says it's worth $5.7 million.
00:33:44 --> 00:33:50 So I'm assuming that would be a profit of what they would get after, you know, after a sale.
00:33:52 --> 00:33:56 Yep. So we will see.
00:33:57 --> 00:34:01 Yeah, we will see. I mean, but hey, way to go, sister.
00:34:02 --> 00:34:04 That's all I got to say. you know.
00:34:06 --> 00:34:12 Get what you can get get what you deserve and you know when people come at you
00:34:12 --> 00:34:15 the wrong way they come at you
00:34:15 --> 00:34:21 with oranges tell them you want lemonade so that's what you do you know,
00:34:22 --> 00:34:31 alright well that's a good story that's a great story alright moving on to some more,
00:34:31 --> 00:34:37 I'm going to say some more myths So we've all seen the commercials or heard
00:34:37 --> 00:34:44 online the comments that Charlemagne, the guide,
00:34:44 --> 00:34:54 was making in reference to Kamala Harris and the whole thing about the transgenders in prison.
00:34:55 --> 00:35:01 And how they were using, Kamala was going to use government money so that they
00:35:01 --> 00:35:05 can have free sex changes and all that stuff. You heard all of this, right? Yeah, I did.
00:35:06 --> 00:35:09 You've seen the commercials and so forth, you know. And, of course,
00:35:09 --> 00:35:13 we know that Solomayne just interviewed Kamala last week.
00:35:14 --> 00:35:21 And so I came across this in reference to that. Because I was thinking to myself,
00:35:21 --> 00:35:22 okay, he just interviewed her.
00:35:23 --> 00:35:25 And then these commercials start up.
00:35:25 --> 00:35:29 And I said, OK, something can't be right. You know, something's not right here.
00:35:30 --> 00:35:35 OK, so it says Charlemagne, the guy that sent a cease and desist letter to former
00:35:35 --> 00:35:41 President Donald Trump concerning a campaign that criticizes Vice President Kamala Harris'
00:35:41 --> 00:35:47 position on taxpayer funds for gender affirming surgeries for transgender prisoners.
00:35:48 --> 00:35:54 So, like I said, we all have been seeing these ads, this ad that they're making a reference to.
00:35:54 --> 00:35:59 It says, in 2019, Harris told the ACLU,
00:35:59 --> 00:36:05 it is important that transgender individuals who rely on the state for care
00:36:05 --> 00:36:10 receive the treatment they need, which includes access to treatment associated
00:36:10 --> 00:36:11 with gender transition.
00:36:12 --> 00:36:18 She added, I support policies ensuring that federal prisoners and detainees
00:36:18 --> 00:36:25 are able to obtain medically necessary care for gender transitioning,
00:36:25 --> 00:36:30 including surgical care while incarcerated or detained.
00:36:31 --> 00:36:36 Harris explained, transition treatment is a medical necessity.
00:36:36 --> 00:36:39 And I will direct all federal assistance.
00:36:40 --> 00:36:49 Agency responsible for providing essential medical care to deliver transit and treatment.
00:36:49 --> 00:36:56 Now, in Trump's ad, it includes a clip of Charlemagne reacting to Harris' remarks,
00:36:56 --> 00:37:03 but the audio was edited in a way that misrepresents his views.
00:37:03 --> 00:37:06 Milking it seemed like he opposed her
00:37:06 --> 00:37:10 support for transgender prisons who want
00:37:10 --> 00:37:14 state-funded medical care the radio
00:37:14 --> 00:37:17 host has taken legal action requesting that
00:37:17 --> 00:37:21 trump remove his voice from the ad cease and
00:37:21 --> 00:37:24 desist vincent dolomay said
00:37:24 --> 00:37:32 about the ad since when does trump care about what's legal that's what Charmaine
00:37:32 --> 00:37:39 has to say about it so basically you know like you said earlier you don't believe
00:37:39 --> 00:37:41 anything you see on the internet right?
00:37:42 --> 00:37:47 Not at all even on TV you can't believe everything you see.
00:37:48 --> 00:37:50 So basically it's saying that
00:37:50 --> 00:37:54 because I know when I saw the ad I was like wow they
00:37:54 --> 00:37:57 put Charmaine out there like that and
00:37:57 --> 00:38:00 I said would Charmaine allow himself to go out there and
00:38:00 --> 00:38:03 be that bold about it and especially after he just did a big
00:38:03 --> 00:38:06 interview with her you know
00:38:06 --> 00:38:11 and so I was so glad when I came across this because now everything makes sense
00:38:11 --> 00:38:16 because when you look at the clip it's just that short moment when he's saying
00:38:16 --> 00:38:22 what he's saying but you could tell there was a lot more being said right you
00:38:22 --> 00:38:24 know, it wasn't just that part, you know,
00:38:24 --> 00:38:27 and all these ads, I,
00:38:28 --> 00:38:37 These ads that Trump and his followers have put up, man, they have been crazy.
00:38:37 --> 00:38:41 I mean, you're talking about going after somebody's character,
00:38:41 --> 00:38:44 making Kamala look stupid.
00:38:44 --> 00:38:48 I mean, am I right? Yeah.
00:38:49 --> 00:38:53 They're definitely very ignorant with it. Yeah, they are.
00:38:53 --> 00:38:58 You know, the words, you know, how they, the thing that always get me when they
00:38:58 --> 00:39:04 talk about unqualified and the two things I think about it, any vice president
00:39:04 --> 00:39:08 or, you know, any vice president has never been president.
00:39:08 --> 00:39:15 So, of course, like who's qualified to be president if they're in training as a VP?
00:39:16 --> 00:39:19 And then they always say Kamala is not qualified.
00:39:20 --> 00:39:23 But hold on she was you know she
00:39:23 --> 00:39:29 was a u.s you know official she was a district attorney of the state of california
00:39:29 --> 00:39:35 you know she's a you know college graduate so i mean all her credentials say
00:39:35 --> 00:39:40 she's qualified but it always kills me when people like oh you know she don't have no experience.
00:39:41 --> 00:39:44 It's it's really amazing to me leonard that
00:39:44 --> 00:39:48 they can get away with they i
00:39:48 --> 00:39:50 remember when i was coming up and they do these ads on tv they
00:39:50 --> 00:39:54 i laugh now
00:39:54 --> 00:39:57 thinking about how bad we thought those ads were
00:39:57 --> 00:40:03 compared to what they put on tv now right not even it's it's it's like oh he
00:40:03 --> 00:40:08 mom he took my piece of candy that's what those ads were now it's like mom he
00:40:08 --> 00:40:12 took my piece of candy and he took it and he did you know you know he might
00:40:12 --> 00:40:15 do something with the can you know these days So, you know,
00:40:15 --> 00:40:21 so it's really, it's really, it's really crazy because you can,
00:40:21 --> 00:40:26 you can splice up something to make it seem like it's something else.
00:40:26 --> 00:40:33 And, you know, Kamala's never been, Kamala wasn't the president of the United States ever before.
00:40:33 --> 00:40:39 Right. So the, the, these ads give her like, she's had so much power,
00:40:39 --> 00:40:43 like she was running the country and was nowhere to be found.
00:40:44 --> 00:40:46 You know every decision that was being made was
00:40:46 --> 00:40:49 made by kamala that's the way they're trying to
00:40:49 --> 00:40:56 these ads presenter you know so it really is really crazy you know when they
00:40:56 --> 00:41:00 do stuff like this and then they use here we got you know oh we're going to
00:41:00 --> 00:41:04 use we're going to use somebody from the black media that everybody listens
00:41:04 --> 00:41:08 to and everything and we want to have that person help to destroy her.
00:41:09 --> 00:41:13 And I'm glad that Charlemagne spoke up. I'm glad that he's, you know,
00:41:14 --> 00:41:17 that he's, you know, and regardless of, because I know Charlemagne wasn't her
00:41:17 --> 00:41:19 biggest supporter at first.
00:41:19 --> 00:41:26 But he is on board with her now. And he did say, I'm voting for Kamala, you know.
00:41:26 --> 00:41:31 And, but, you know, I'm glad that he spoke up and he said, hey,
00:41:31 --> 00:41:37 look, basically like Will Smith said at the Oscars, take my name out of your
00:41:37 --> 00:41:38 mouth. You know what I mean?
00:41:39 --> 00:41:43 You know, so it just tells you,
00:41:43 --> 00:41:46 you know, you can't believe everything you see, like you said earlier.
00:41:47 --> 00:41:51 And we have to, you know, we can't always listen to other people.
00:41:51 --> 00:41:57 We definitely got to trust what we feel and what we read and what we see from
00:41:57 --> 00:42:00 our own eyes and mouths and ears.
00:42:00 --> 00:42:04 So, you know, so that's what I got to say about that. You got anything to add?
00:42:05 --> 00:42:07 No, I mean, I think you pretty much covered it.
00:42:08 --> 00:42:11 Okay all right thank you for allowing me to cover it
00:42:11 --> 00:42:15 sir okay good all right moving on
00:42:15 --> 00:42:19 to our next story i thought this was a great human interest story you
00:42:19 --> 00:42:23 know we got the one of these in here every week black woman
00:42:23 --> 00:42:30 from maryland launches much needed adopt a mom program and this is what this
00:42:30 --> 00:42:35 is about it says jaleesa matthews the mother of two from baltimore is launching
00:42:35 --> 00:42:39 a new adopt a Mom program called Helping Her, Inc.
00:42:40 --> 00:42:46 To support expected mothers as they prepare for the arrival of their.
00:42:48 --> 00:42:53 Babies through her nonprofit, Helping Her, Inc.
00:42:54 --> 00:42:59 Matthews has already been assisting new moms this year by providing essential
00:42:59 --> 00:43:01 supplies and resources.
00:43:02 --> 00:43:07 Each Wednesday, she opens her mommy and baby pantries, which is stacked with
00:43:07 --> 00:43:12 items such as diapers, body wash, feminine hygiene products,
00:43:12 --> 00:43:13 laundry detergent, and more.
00:43:13 --> 00:43:23 As a mom myself, I always wanted to be the kind I can help, kind of help I needed when I had my two babies.
00:43:24 --> 00:43:29 Matthews explained, recalling her own experience with the challenges of postpartum
00:43:29 --> 00:43:35 period, even with a string of strong supports of supportive people.
00:43:36 --> 00:43:41 Matthews faced struggles which inspired her to create a network for families
00:43:41 --> 00:43:46 who lack the same support to further expand her reach.
00:43:46 --> 00:43:51 She is now introducing Adopt-a-Mom program through her organization.
00:43:52 --> 00:43:56 She wants to provide essentials for moms and their babies during the first three
00:43:56 --> 00:43:59 to four months of motherhood, Matthews said.
00:43:59 --> 00:44:04 Whether it's strollers, car seats, or anything out, we're tailoring the support
00:44:04 --> 00:44:07 to fit each mom's specific needs.
00:44:08 --> 00:44:13 Applications for the program opened on October the 15th, and the first adopted
00:44:13 --> 00:44:16 mom will be someone due in March or later.
00:44:17 --> 00:44:22 This will allow the organization to support the expectant mothers during the
00:44:22 --> 00:44:26 final stages of pregnancy and into early motherhood.
00:44:27 --> 00:44:32 Afterwards, Matthew hopes to adopt one new mom each month.
00:44:32 --> 00:44:35 I think that's a great idea. I really do.
00:44:37 --> 00:44:40 Right now, we don't have that support, especially for younger moms who,
00:44:40 --> 00:44:47 you know, going, you know, going through this for the first time or maybe maybe the second time.
00:44:47 --> 00:44:50 And, you know, just just trying to have the support because,
00:44:50 --> 00:44:53 you know, they may not have that support that they need.
00:44:53 --> 00:44:59 And and they want to make sure that that they have everything they need for that baby.
00:44:59 --> 00:45:05 And, you know, and, you know, it's one thing, you know, diapers is always needed
00:45:05 --> 00:45:09 and diapers are very expensive now. They're not cheap anymore. I know.
00:45:10 --> 00:45:12 Dave, I'm sure that baby food ain't cheap either.
00:45:13 --> 00:45:17 Baby food is not cheap anymore. None of that stuff is, even when you get into
00:45:17 --> 00:45:19 the formulas, the formulas are very expensive now.
00:45:19 --> 00:45:24 So if you're not a person that qualifies for WIC or something like that,
00:45:24 --> 00:45:28 you're spending a lot of money with newborns right now, you know.
00:45:28 --> 00:45:35 And for this lady to have this type of ideal and to be able to help support
00:45:35 --> 00:45:39 those that are pregnant and about to have babies.
00:45:39 --> 00:45:47 And like she said, her first adopted mom would probably be sometime around March
00:45:47 --> 00:45:49 when the pregnancy is due. Right.
00:45:49 --> 00:45:55 That's a great idea to be able to have all of those things that they would need in order to,
00:45:55 --> 00:46:01 you know, be successful when that newborn is born, you know,
00:46:01 --> 00:46:06 and you have the diapers, you have the bottles and those type of things.
00:46:06 --> 00:46:12 And then, you know, having strollers and car seats and, you know, those type of things.
00:46:12 --> 00:46:18 So I applaud this. I applaud this young lady, you know, and I think it's a great idea.
00:46:19 --> 00:46:23 What do you think about it? I mean, you know, I agree.
00:46:23 --> 00:46:28 You know, I think and I'll say specifically for people who may be single mothers
00:46:28 --> 00:46:30 with, you know, no support system.
00:46:31 --> 00:46:34 I'm sure it's hard. I mean, of course, you know, they luckily,
00:46:34 --> 00:46:41 you know, we can't have babies and we don't go through that that press. Thank you, Jesus.
00:46:41 --> 00:46:45 But, you know, I mean, I think it's good because, you know, we always talk about
00:46:45 --> 00:46:51 I'm sorry, we always hear about, you know, the issues that black women have during pregnancy.
00:46:51 --> 00:46:56 You know, not only do we know the rent too damn high and the groceries and the
00:46:56 --> 00:47:00 supplies, but we also hear about how the doctors are not, you know,
00:47:01 --> 00:47:05 attending to their needs as, you know, maybe some other ethnicities.
00:47:06 --> 00:47:10 So, you know, I think anything that kind of helps them out to reduce stress,
00:47:11 --> 00:47:13 you know, kind of give them that support system. I mean, you know,
00:47:13 --> 00:47:14 I think that's a good thing.
00:47:14 --> 00:47:19 And, you know, hopefully this person's program can, you know,
00:47:19 --> 00:47:24 reach a lot of, you know, pregnant or soon to be pregnant women and,
00:47:24 --> 00:47:26 you know, maybe additional cities as well.
00:47:27 --> 00:47:34 That's a great thing. That would be great if it turns into like a chain of adopt-a-moms
00:47:34 --> 00:47:36 all across the United States.
00:47:36 --> 00:47:43 Support and this program really takes off for her because yes that is true you
00:47:43 --> 00:47:48 know you figure you know when a doctor you know you mentioned doctors just then
00:47:48 --> 00:47:54 and you know with the disparities and so forth especially when it comes to our black mothers you know.
00:47:55 --> 00:47:59 Nowadays, when a mother is ready to deliver,
00:48:00 --> 00:48:08 you know, on an average, the most amount of time that that doctor might be involved
00:48:08 --> 00:48:13 in the delivery is maybe 10 minutes. Oh, wow. That's it?
00:48:13 --> 00:48:21 Yeah. They're there. They really don't really assist until the baby is actually ready to come out.
00:48:22 --> 00:48:27 That's when they show up. Yeah. They make sure their baby comes out safely if
00:48:27 --> 00:48:28 there's no complications.
00:48:28 --> 00:48:32 And as soon as that baby cries, they're gone. Yeah.
00:48:33 --> 00:48:39 And then you get a bill for thousands, thousands of dollars for 10 minutes for that doctor.
00:48:40 --> 00:48:43 I'm not even talking about the services, you know, because he's getting his
00:48:43 --> 00:48:45 money or she's getting her money.
00:48:45 --> 00:48:49 And then you're getting the bill for being there in the hospital.
00:48:49 --> 00:48:52 So you know
00:48:52 --> 00:48:55 back in the day i almost
00:48:55 --> 00:48:57 hate saying that you know anymore because you know
00:48:57 --> 00:49:00 it's sort of become so cliched over the
00:49:00 --> 00:49:03 years but but when you go back to that time
00:49:03 --> 00:49:07 the doctors were involved every every moment
00:49:07 --> 00:49:10 of the way you know they they checked on
00:49:10 --> 00:49:13 you you know when when it was time to deliver
00:49:13 --> 00:49:16 they were right there with you the whole way they saw saw
00:49:16 --> 00:49:19 the delivery all way through and nowadays like
00:49:19 --> 00:49:22 i said you may see that down to 10 minutes man
00:49:22 --> 00:49:25 maybe 15 minutes if there's complications maybe a
00:49:25 --> 00:49:30 little bit longer but no you don't spend you don't get those personal connections
00:49:30 --> 00:49:35 like that and especially you know i hate to say it a lot of times with our black
00:49:35 --> 00:49:42 pregnancies oh yeah there's no connection at all so so to have a program like
00:49:42 --> 00:49:45 this started and to be a support system,
00:49:45 --> 00:49:49 I really hope that Jalisa gets all the support,
00:49:49 --> 00:49:52 that she needs that people.
00:49:54 --> 00:50:00 He has all the help and supplies that he needs and he gets additional funding
00:50:00 --> 00:50:02 because it is a nonprofit.
00:50:02 --> 00:50:06 So of course, you know, she is getting some funding, but hopefully she'll get
00:50:06 --> 00:50:10 additional funding and support to keep that program going. Right. Oh.
00:50:13 --> 00:50:18 That's a great, great idea. So, you know, you know, we, these human interest
00:50:18 --> 00:50:21 stories are really, you know, are good stories.
00:50:21 --> 00:50:24 And anytime I come across something like that, i want to always talk about
00:50:24 --> 00:50:27 it speaking of that you know
00:50:27 --> 00:50:30 the story we did last week about the whole body bath
00:50:30 --> 00:50:35 and body works thing yeah that story
00:50:35 --> 00:50:37 had some legs later i heard that story
00:50:37 --> 00:50:40 almost all week long everybody kept talking about
00:50:40 --> 00:50:43 it on every every time i turned on a channel it was
00:50:43 --> 00:50:46 brought up right i don't know people i don't
00:50:46 --> 00:50:49 know people listening to news and trends you know you know
00:50:49 --> 00:50:54 you know but i just thought it was interesting and you
00:50:54 --> 00:50:57 know people we have to we
00:50:57 --> 00:50:59 have to make sure now of course
00:50:59 --> 00:51:03 leonard said it earlier and of course i did too you can't
00:51:03 --> 00:51:06 believe everything you read you can't believe everything you
00:51:06 --> 00:51:09 hear especially on social media especially on social media
00:51:09 --> 00:51:16 but some things you definitely have to make sure that you use discernment you
00:51:16 --> 00:51:23 that But you definitely have your mind's eye focused because some of it is clearly
00:51:23 --> 00:51:26 what it is, if you know what I'm saying.
00:51:27 --> 00:51:31 So just pay attention. A lot of the stuff that me and Leonard talk about every
00:51:31 --> 00:51:33 week, especially when we get
00:51:33 --> 00:51:37 to these like human interest stories or whatever, pay attention. Listen.
00:51:37 --> 00:51:44 And look, a lot of times you start hearing a lot about these stories after we talk about them.
00:51:44 --> 00:51:49 And then you say, well, OK, well, maybe that was true. Or maybe they know what they're talking about.
00:51:49 --> 00:51:55 And that's all I'm saying. Just pay attention. Okay? All right.
00:51:56 --> 00:52:02 So now we're to the favorite part of the show that, you know, our review.
00:52:02 --> 00:52:06 You heard our review person earlier talk about how great this segment is.
00:52:06 --> 00:52:11 You know, they gave the segment a long five stars, you know, for that whole thing.
00:52:11 --> 00:52:15 So, but this is also Leonard's favorite part of the show.
00:52:15 --> 00:52:22 And i just wanted to do day's corner question today or philosophical question or,
00:52:22 --> 00:52:26 start for the day and i just thought this was interesting because i kind of
00:52:26 --> 00:52:30 heard them talking about this earlier but i want to give it a different look
00:52:30 --> 00:52:33 you saw the kings of comedy right,
00:52:34 --> 00:52:41 i did yes yeah i'm calling myself there all the questions okay okay i told you
00:52:41 --> 00:52:45 folks this is favorite part of the show so he's trying not to act like he's
00:52:45 --> 00:52:50 so excited and everything at the moment trying not to do well.
00:52:53 --> 00:52:59 They did a part on the show where he got a chance to introduce Jesus Christ.
00:52:59 --> 00:53:04 And he said, if he had a chance to bring him out on stage, this is how he would do it.
00:53:05 --> 00:53:09 And it was very, it was very good. I mean, you know, you remember that in the
00:53:09 --> 00:53:12 show? No, I don't figure.
00:53:12 --> 00:53:18 Leonard always messes up. Well, no, I mean, you know, it was very,
00:53:18 --> 00:53:23 it was a very big, it was a very poignant part in the show where he, he. Well, hold on, Dave.
00:53:24 --> 00:53:27 What wasn't that big? You know, we're going to do a poll because I don't think
00:53:27 --> 00:53:30 it's as big as a part as you're making out the scene.
00:53:31 --> 00:53:35 We need a poll. We need a poll for this Jesus intro.
00:53:36 --> 00:53:42 Okay. People who are listening, when you go to listen to the show and you make
00:53:42 --> 00:53:49 your little comments, but I get comments all the time on Facebook and people send me texts directly.
00:53:49 --> 00:53:52 Tell me and tell me or not if that
00:53:52 --> 00:53:55 part where he introduces jesus christ on
00:53:55 --> 00:53:59 when he says if i had a chance to introduce jesus
00:53:59 --> 00:54:01 christ this is how i would do it that's what it was that's what
00:54:01 --> 00:54:04 it was about tell me if that part
00:54:04 --> 00:54:09 was a big part of the kings and comedy okay and
00:54:09 --> 00:54:11 i'll share it with leonard or if you put it on
00:54:11 --> 00:54:15 our page if you go to if you go to our news and trends page
00:54:15 --> 00:54:18 and you can or go to the apple podcast page
00:54:18 --> 00:54:21 you can put it on there but just curious what
00:54:21 --> 00:54:25 you guys thought about that part but anyway he's trying to throw me off my question
00:54:25 --> 00:54:32 right now so let me get back to it so if you could introduce jesus today in
00:54:32 --> 00:54:37 today's world keep that in mind you know because they the kings of comedy was
00:54:37 --> 00:54:41 back doing what 90s okay in today's world.
00:54:43 --> 00:54:46 Would you say when you go to bring him out on bring him
00:54:46 --> 00:54:50 out so how would you
00:54:50 --> 00:54:53 introduce him don't know where they already got my answer lined up to
00:54:53 --> 00:54:56 that okay then took my notes so i
00:54:56 --> 00:55:03 would probably say something similar to ladies and gentlemen please welcome
00:55:03 --> 00:55:10 a figure whose life and teachings have transformed the course of history and
00:55:10 --> 00:55:15 continue to inspire billions around the world. How do you like that so far?
00:55:16 --> 00:55:18 No, no, no, no. Don't be asking me questions.
00:55:21 --> 00:55:28 He is the embodiment of love, compassion, and ultimate expression of humility and strength.
00:55:29 --> 00:55:35 His message is timeless, transcending culture, religion, and error,
00:55:35 --> 00:55:39 speaking directly to the deepest needs of the human heart.
00:55:40 --> 00:55:47 Today, David, we invite you to open your hearts and minds to someone whose words
00:55:47 --> 00:55:53 continue to echo through the ages, the Prince of Peace,
00:55:54 --> 00:56:02 the light of the world, introducing Dave's homeboy, Jesus Christ. There you go.
00:56:08 --> 00:56:15 Our homeboy, friend to the show. All right. Isn't AI great, folks? Anyway. Yes. Yes, it is.
00:56:16 --> 00:56:20 Leonard over there, use AI writing and everything. I hear you.
00:56:20 --> 00:56:23 But that was good. That was good. That was good. I like that. I like that.
00:56:24 --> 00:56:27 Just so you know, AI is my personal assistant. I don't even think anymore.
00:56:28 --> 00:56:31 I just put in AI and AI does all the thinking for him. He has everything.
00:56:31 --> 00:56:35 I know. It does all the thinking for him. But see, you know, but that was good.
00:56:35 --> 00:56:38 That was good, even though you have your assistant help you write it but that's
00:56:38 --> 00:56:44 fine okay i don't know problem all right well dave since this is your show your
00:56:44 --> 00:56:50 corner yeah you're saying yeah and and dave i i tend to believe you were the
00:56:50 --> 00:56:54 one who edited in that the comment of my favorite part of the show is.
00:57:00 --> 00:57:06 All right but dave if you could introduce jesus christ to today's world,
00:57:07 --> 00:57:13 what would you say or how would you say it okay and this is all the top of the
00:57:13 --> 00:57:17 dome folks i don't know it's just a thing anyway,
00:57:19 --> 00:57:26 heard about him as a child. And throughout my life, I was told that he was always around.
00:57:27 --> 00:57:34 When I went left, he went left with me, but then stared me back to the right way.
00:57:34 --> 00:57:42 When I didn't always have the answer, he gave me an answer and got me straight.
00:57:44 --> 00:57:46 Now as a kid you know
00:57:46 --> 00:57:49 you make those mistakes as a young adult you make those
00:57:49 --> 00:57:52 mistakes but as a man when you
00:57:52 --> 00:57:59 become a full grown adult the mistakes you make have bigger values but for some
00:57:59 --> 00:58:06 reason he smiles and he doesn't he doesn't blame me for anything that I do wrong
00:58:06 --> 00:58:11 now I'm a humble person because I know this man,
00:58:12 --> 00:58:19 And he's been able to give me things that I could never imagine I deserved.
00:58:20 --> 00:58:30 Walk, when you talk, no matter whether you are 100 years old or you're a baby,
00:58:30 --> 00:58:32 he's responsible for it all.
00:58:33 --> 00:58:39 Even if you are disabled or you are having some issues with illnesses,
00:58:40 --> 00:58:45 he still manages to make sure that you're comfortable or that you're living
00:58:45 --> 00:58:47 enough to still breathe.
00:58:48 --> 00:58:54 He's a guy who with all the craziness that's going on in the world today,
00:58:55 --> 00:59:01 he still manages to find people who want to focus on him and believe in him
00:59:01 --> 00:59:08 if you have an official message from medicare i usually you have anybody who
00:59:08 --> 00:59:12 you feel that you can trust.
00:59:13 --> 00:59:15 And that's family that's friends of course you
00:59:15 --> 00:59:18 have a certain amount of trust that you give them and
00:59:18 --> 00:59:22 a lot of faith that you might have in them but you
00:59:22 --> 00:59:24 have no bigger trust and no bigger faith than
00:59:24 --> 00:59:27 you have in this guy because he's
00:59:27 --> 00:59:32 gonna definitely take care of you and you know it the world's kind of a messed
00:59:32 --> 00:59:38 up place right now we got a president running with 34 convictions we got him
00:59:38 --> 00:59:42 talking about a woman and saying all kinds of things that he said about a woman
00:59:42 --> 00:59:46 that he has no clue whether she can do the job or not.
00:59:46 --> 00:59:53 We got all kinds of other things going on in the world today. But yet, he still rules.
00:59:53 --> 01:00:00 And he always will. No matter what. If you believe in him, he's going to take care of you.
01:00:01 --> 01:00:06 So, all I'm saying to you folks, let me bring out the man.
01:00:06 --> 01:00:10 They talk about Michael Jordan as the GOAT.
01:00:10 --> 01:00:14 They talk about Wayne Gretzky. They talk about Magic Johnson.
01:00:15 --> 01:00:16 They talk about Kareem Abdul-Jabbar.
01:00:17 --> 01:00:21 They talk about all these great people as being the GOAT.
01:00:22 --> 01:00:30 There's no bigger G than this guy, because he is the greatest of all time.
01:00:31 --> 01:00:35 And he is the person that has all the answers.
01:00:36 --> 01:00:39 Let me introduce him to you. His name is Jesus.
01:00:40 --> 01:00:44 That's what I would say. All right. Well, just so you know, I just talked to
01:00:44 --> 01:00:46 Jesus. He said he liked my intro better.
01:00:48 --> 01:00:51 Just letting you know. yeah he used a
01:00:51 --> 01:00:54 feather he used the feather pen assistant to do
01:00:54 --> 01:00:57 that okay yeah my my
01:00:57 --> 01:01:02 speech writer and another one yeah yeah okay
01:01:02 --> 01:01:07 all right all right that's why i saw dave corner okay i get it yeah but but
01:01:07 --> 01:01:12 anyway there you have it folks now if you want to if you want to say which one
01:01:12 --> 01:01:17 you like the best go ahead by all means you can say that you know it won't hurt
01:01:17 --> 01:01:19 it won't hurt my feelings that you say, Leonard,
01:01:19 --> 01:01:23 Dave's was better than Leonard's. They won't hurt my feelings at all. So that's fine.
01:01:23 --> 01:01:31 But we want to take a moment before we sign off in having Leonard talk about the MBG network.
01:01:32 --> 01:01:33 So Leonard, why don't you do that?
01:01:34 --> 01:01:40 So, I mean, of course, you know, we talked about it before, but the MBG podcast network,
01:01:40 --> 01:01:43 which really stands for the National Black Guy podcast network
01:01:43 --> 01:01:47 it was created to provide a platform for
01:01:47 --> 01:01:52 underrepresented voices especially within the black community to share their
01:01:52 --> 01:01:58 stories perspectives and expertise so we're talking specifically about podcasters
01:01:58 --> 01:02:05 so black podcasters to be suspense specific got tongue tied there a bit, Dave.
01:02:06 --> 01:02:10 And see, Dave, that... He needed his assistant to talk for you.
01:02:10 --> 01:02:12 Yeah, I did. I needed my speech writing.
01:02:13 --> 01:02:17 But, you know, just to break it down, there are a lot of podcasters of color,
01:02:17 --> 01:02:21 you know, just like us, News and Trends of Dave and Len, who,
01:02:21 --> 01:02:25 you know, let's say great content, but we can always use more visibility.
01:02:26 --> 01:02:31 So hopefully, NBG Podcast Network can work with some of these creators for a
01:02:31 --> 01:02:36 mutually beneficial relationship where we can get more visibility and just share
01:02:36 --> 01:02:40 their stories and perspectives to a greater audience. Okay.
01:02:42 --> 01:02:48 People, we have some great shows, you know, showing up on the National Black Eyed,
01:02:49 --> 01:02:56 I lost my train of thought there quick. On the NBG Podcast Network. NBG Podcast Network.

01:03:06 --> 01:03:07 Keep that bump. All right.
01:03:08 --> 01:03:12 But no, there's some great content on there. And, you know, you know,
01:03:12 --> 01:03:15 there's some great people, great hosts on that podcast network.
