00:01:49 --> 00:01:52 Sitting here with my partner, Mr. Leonard Young. What's going on, sir?
00:01:52 --> 00:01:57 Hey Dave, everything is good. This is Leonard Young, CEO of National Black Guide,
00:01:57 --> 00:02:02 DelawareBlack.com, black media specialist all around good guy. How goes it, Dave?
00:02:03 --> 00:02:08 Man, I can't call it. It's one day at a time. It's good to be back in the house again.
00:02:08 --> 00:02:12 We've been away for the last couple of weeks, but we apologize for that because
00:02:12 --> 00:02:17 we know that you guys love hearing us, you know, live, but, you know,
00:02:18 --> 00:02:22 with the shows that we played were very informative shows, so I know you guys
00:02:22 --> 00:02:23 got a chance to hear some good stuff.
00:02:24 --> 00:02:27 Man, it seems like there's been a lot going on over the last couple of weeks,
00:02:27 --> 00:02:30 too, right, man? Yeah, I know. Yeah. AI, Trump.
00:02:31 --> 00:02:39 Yeah, man. It seems like every day there's something new. I mean. No, definitely. Yeah.
00:02:40 --> 00:02:44 Speaking of that, I wanted to, right at the top of the show,
00:02:44 --> 00:02:51 just give a heartfelt condolences to the family of Malcolm Jamal Warner.
00:02:52 --> 00:02:58 Man you know I was somewhere the other day and I was walking in the door and
00:02:58 --> 00:03:03 this place had music playing and it was playing the song from the Cosby show
00:03:03 --> 00:03:07 when the kids were at when they were singing that song and the whole family
00:03:07 --> 00:03:11 was singing it that song was playing it was playing on Saturday,
00:03:12 --> 00:03:15 and I heard that song yeah that was Saturday when I heard the song and then
00:03:15 --> 00:03:22 the next day he was dead you know in an unfortunate drowning situation.
00:03:23 --> 00:03:28 And, you know, you never want to hear that somebody, you know,
00:03:28 --> 00:03:34 dies that particular way, and especially somebody that you can relate to so well.
00:03:35 --> 00:03:39 You know, we can say what we want to say about the Cosby show.
00:03:40 --> 00:03:42 You know, we all watched it.
00:03:43 --> 00:03:48 It was all part of our lives. You know, I don't care how old you were at the
00:03:48 --> 00:03:53 time that it was on or in the repeats in the repeats you know it was definitely,
00:03:54 --> 00:04:01 something that we all wanted to see and those children on that show were really
00:04:01 --> 00:04:03 the show I mean Bill was Bill but.
00:04:04 --> 00:04:08 You know, you wanted to relate to those kids on that show. And Theo was just
00:04:08 --> 00:04:11 that guy. You know, he was funny.
00:04:11 --> 00:04:17 You know, he did things that you probably did as a kid yourself, you know, and so forth.
00:04:18 --> 00:04:23 And then to watch him grow up and become the guy that he became,
00:04:23 --> 00:04:26 you know, a poet, you know, an actor.
00:04:26 --> 00:04:30 You know, I didn't know that he won a Grammy. Did you know he won a Grammy?
00:04:30 --> 00:04:32 No, I didn't know that until just recently.
00:04:33 --> 00:04:36 Yeah, yeah. You know, he was nominated for an Emmy. He won a Grammy.
00:04:36 --> 00:04:40 Of course, you know, he did part three. And, you know, he just was an all-around guy.
00:04:41 --> 00:04:44 And he's going to be missed. He was only 54 years old.
00:04:45 --> 00:04:51 And, you know, it's really a shame that that happened, you know.
00:04:52 --> 00:04:59 So, you know, they say it happens in threes. I just saw the day that Ozzy Osbourne died, too.
00:05:00 --> 00:05:05 Oh, okay. I did not know that. Yeah, and ironically, you know,
00:05:05 --> 00:05:10 they were talking about that two weeks ago, he performed with the band that he was with,
00:05:10 --> 00:05:16 Black Sabbath, back in the day, and he actually performed and did, like, seven songs.
00:05:16 --> 00:05:20 And I heard that was a sold-out. It was a sold-out thing, yeah.
00:05:20 --> 00:05:24 And they said he sounded good, and he performed well, you know,
00:05:24 --> 00:05:30 and they said he was very, you know, you didn't realize how sick he was at that time,
00:05:30 --> 00:05:33 but he, you know, they said there's something about
00:05:33 --> 00:05:36 these musicians when they know the time
00:05:36 --> 00:05:40 is near and they do something like that that that's you know they know that's
00:05:40 --> 00:05:46 their last hurrah and they just want everything to be well right oh just imagine
00:05:46 --> 00:05:51 if michael had gotten through that this is it concert all the way you know knowing
00:05:51 --> 00:05:55 and i'm sure he knew that that probably was going to be his last thing.
00:05:55 --> 00:06:02 I have a feeling he knew that, you know, so, but you know, so those are two,
00:06:02 --> 00:06:04 you know, they said it comes in threes.
00:06:04 --> 00:06:08 Let's hope it's not anybody, you know, let's hope that they're wrong about this,
00:06:08 --> 00:06:11 but, you know, I just wanted to make sure we talked about that.
00:06:11 --> 00:06:14 Yeah, no, Dave, I agree, because, you know, we would hate for anything that
00:06:14 --> 00:06:15 would happen to your president.
00:06:15 --> 00:06:19 I know you're a staunch advocate, and... Wait, hold on.
00:06:21 --> 00:06:27 Look, you could get us off the air. Why? What happened? I'm just saying I hope
00:06:27 --> 00:06:28 nothing happens to your president.
00:06:30 --> 00:06:36 Okay. All right. Okay. You know, remember, that wasn't that wasn't me that said
00:06:36 --> 00:06:39 that, you know, so anyway.
00:06:39 --> 00:06:41 That was David Coker.
00:06:44 --> 00:06:47 But there's been a lot going on and a lot of a lot of craziness.
00:06:48 --> 00:06:51 And we're going to talk about some of that stuff going on today,
00:06:51 --> 00:06:53 you know, on this particular show.
00:06:54 --> 00:06:58 Have you managed to stay cool, man? Because there's still some heat out there.
00:06:59 --> 00:07:02 Yeah, I mean, to be honest, yes, I have. It hasn't been too bad.
00:07:03 --> 00:07:06 No, no, no complaints. Yeah. Okay.
00:07:06 --> 00:07:11 All right. Well, that's good because, you know, you know, do you guys have cooling
00:07:11 --> 00:07:12 stations set up down there?
00:07:13 --> 00:07:18 And in the southern part of Delaware, where you guys be at most of the time?
00:07:19 --> 00:07:22 Do they talk about any cooling stations? I mean, it's pretty bad when you know
00:07:22 --> 00:07:27 this, when they set up cooling stations that have people coming from out outside.
00:07:28 --> 00:07:32 To be honest, I feel like lately it has not been... Now, maybe about a month
00:07:32 --> 00:07:35 ago when it was like a heat wave. Oh, yeah. That was crazy.
00:07:36 --> 00:07:39 I feel like lately it has not been... It's been bearable, I guess.
00:07:39 --> 00:07:41 Yeah, it's been bearable. Yeah. Yeah.
00:07:42 --> 00:07:47 So, you guys didn't go over to the State Fair? I see that at the State Fair,
00:07:47 --> 00:07:49 they have CC Winings over there tonight.
00:07:50 --> 00:07:54 Yeah, we have not... My son did go yesterday. He went with some of his friends.
00:07:55 --> 00:07:58 Oh, did he? Okay. And Nelly's there tonight, too. Come to think of it.
00:07:59 --> 00:08:04 No, T.I. is there. No, T.I., T.I. Yeah, T.I. is there on Friday.
00:08:04 --> 00:08:07 No, Nelly's in Philly. He's in Philly. Oh, okay. Gotcha. Yeah,
00:08:07 --> 00:08:10 T.I. was down there. Yeah, yeah. Okay.
00:08:11 --> 00:08:15 So, I was like, okay, the State Fair got some big people coming through there. Yeah.
00:08:15 --> 00:08:21 Well, you know, I feel like the State Fair, they always have a big-time raffle.
00:08:21 --> 00:08:24 Yeah, yeah. So the last three years, and I forget the order,
00:08:24 --> 00:08:26 but of course I have TI's this year.
00:08:27 --> 00:08:31 And then I forget last year or the year before, but they had Nelly and Ludacris.
00:08:31 --> 00:08:34 And I'm not sure which one was which year. Yeah, that's right.
00:08:35 --> 00:08:40 Yeah, I remember Ludacris. Yeah, but those were the two years. Okay.
00:08:40 --> 00:08:44 All right. Well, I'm sure it's probably packed in.
00:08:44 --> 00:08:49 I heard the tickets were like $38 or $48 for CC1, something like that. Oh, really?
00:08:49 --> 00:08:54 Yeah. Yeah. And it's funny, I was just looking there because the tickets for TI are $58.
00:08:55 --> 00:09:00 Wow. Yeah, which probably isn't that bad because there's a country music person
00:09:00 --> 00:09:02 on there. His ticket started at $85.
00:09:03 --> 00:09:06 Well, wasn't Jimmy Allen down there this year, too?
00:09:08 --> 00:09:12 I don't think so, but I'm not sure. Okay. I thought I saw that he was supposed
00:09:12 --> 00:09:15 to be there. Okay. Maybe I'm wrong. Okay.
00:09:16 --> 00:09:22 Okay. All right. Well, so if any of you guys are down at the State Fair,
00:09:22 --> 00:09:24 I hope you enjoy yourself tonight.
00:09:24 --> 00:09:27 My family used to go down there when I was a kid. I used to enjoy that.
00:09:27 --> 00:09:32 That was really, that's a really nice fair that they put on down there.
00:09:32 --> 00:09:37 Dave, you want me to say something funny? I feel like, and maybe social media
00:09:37 --> 00:09:43 has helped, but I feel like people in Newcastle County sleep on the Delaware State Fair.
00:09:43 --> 00:09:47 And I just say because growing up, I knew nothing about it.
00:09:48 --> 00:09:52 To be honest, up until about three years ago, I didn't know all the stuff they had.
00:09:52 --> 00:09:56 But I mean, they do have a lot of stuff and there are a lot of black people
00:09:56 --> 00:09:58 who go down there from the area.
00:09:58 --> 00:10:01 I don't know how many people up here take a trip down there.
00:10:02 --> 00:10:05 Well, we used to go down there because of my downstate relatives.
00:10:06 --> 00:10:11 We used to meet them at the park, you know, so, you know, so that was like a
00:10:11 --> 00:10:13 meeting place for all of us.
00:10:13 --> 00:10:19 And it seemed like it was always around when we just around the time that we
00:10:19 --> 00:10:21 would do our combined reunion.
00:10:22 --> 00:10:26 So that would be one of the things that we would do is go to the state fair.
00:10:26 --> 00:10:31 The first time I ever got on Ferris wheel was at that state fair. I love it. Well, yeah.
00:10:31 --> 00:10:35 I was scared to death, man. I ain't gonna lie. Because that thing was taking its time.
00:10:35 --> 00:10:39 When you get to the top, man, it takes its time going back around.
00:10:39 --> 00:10:42 You know, and I was like, okay, I don't like this.
00:10:43 --> 00:10:47 But anyway, I used to take my kids down there when they were small, too.
00:10:48 --> 00:10:53 And they used to love it. So, yeah. So, you know, it is something that definitely,
00:10:54 --> 00:10:58 for those that are listening, if you've never been to, it's fun for adults.
00:10:58 --> 00:11:03 It's fun for children as well. go check it out. I think it's the last day is
00:11:03 --> 00:11:06 the 26th, if I'm not mistaken. I think it was the next Sunday.
00:11:08 --> 00:11:10 So the Sunday coming up?
00:11:11 --> 00:11:16 Yes, I think this Sunday. So I know it started last week, Wednesday.
00:11:17 --> 00:11:20 Okay. And then it was, of course, last weekend, and then this is the second weekend.
00:11:21 --> 00:11:25 Yeah, okay. So, yeah. All right.
00:11:25 --> 00:11:28 And you guys ain't gonna venture over there? You're so close.
00:11:28 --> 00:11:32 You might Well, yeah, I mean, we may, but it's just, you know,
00:11:32 --> 00:11:33 David, it's been a busy summer.
00:11:33 --> 00:11:37 So we we we we we try to catch a break. You know what I mean?
00:11:39 --> 00:11:43 Did your son say anything about it? Yeah, he said he had a good time.
00:11:43 --> 00:11:46 He liked it. OK. All right. All right.
00:11:46 --> 00:11:52 All right. Well, I guess we'll go ahead and get into our stories for tonight.
00:11:52 --> 00:11:55 We got a couple of things that we want to talk to you about.
00:11:56 --> 00:11:59 Like I said, since we haven't talked to you in a while, let's see if we can
00:11:59 --> 00:12:01 stir up some controversy.
00:12:03 --> 00:12:07 What Dave does best. Yeah, I know. I try. I try.
00:12:08 --> 00:12:13 So the first story is titled, Kristen Counselor Drops Truth.
00:12:15 --> 00:12:19 Men are dying single because they chased the wrong women.
00:12:21 --> 00:12:24 I couldn't resist this story. I'm sure.
00:12:25 --> 00:12:33 You probably saw it was probably speaking to you wasn't it yeah it was anyway,
00:12:34 --> 00:12:40 I'm going to read a little bit of this it says viral post by Kristen,
00:12:41 --> 00:12:50 counselor terror body claim that many men stay single because they chase women
00:12:50 --> 00:12:57 who don't want them the statement stirred strong reactions on social media and
00:12:57 --> 00:13:00 open a discussion about Christian dating struggles.
00:13:00 --> 00:13:09 Body advice urges men to reflect on their choices and align dating goals with spiritual values.
00:13:10 --> 00:13:14 Now, of course, we've heard this before, and it doesn't always work out that way.
00:13:15 --> 00:13:17 You know, we try to stay aligned with those spiritual values,
00:13:18 --> 00:13:20 but sometimes they go awry.
00:13:23 --> 00:13:27 According to body some men overlook
00:13:27 --> 00:13:30 potential partners who may actually
00:13:30 --> 00:13:36 be good matches for them spiritually instead they focus on women who either
00:13:36 --> 00:13:43 show no interest or or aren't aligned with their faith this mismatch mismatch
00:13:43 --> 00:13:50 could be a reason why many men feel unfulfilled or end up single, longer than expected.
00:13:51 --> 00:13:56 So it goes into these little subtitles. This first one says.
00:13:57 --> 00:14:02 This first one says, Christian dating culture and the gender imbalance.
00:14:03 --> 00:14:07 It said many churches report more women than men in attendance,
00:14:08 --> 00:14:12 sometimes two-to-one ratio, which is true. I've seen it in many places.
00:14:12 --> 00:14:18 This imbalance makes dating within Christian communities challenging.
00:14:18 --> 00:14:23 Women often feel that they have fewer options, while men may feel overwhelmed
00:14:23 --> 00:14:26 or unsure of who to pursue.
00:14:27 --> 00:14:33 Yeah, I have that problem all the time. Anyway, Christian dating struggles often
00:14:33 --> 00:14:39 center around values like intentionality and faith alignment.
00:14:40 --> 00:14:46 When men chase women based on their looks or status, they risk missing out on deeper compatibility.
00:14:47 --> 00:14:51 Now, we've all been there or know people that have been there. You know what I mean?
00:14:52 --> 00:14:59 The body's message encourages men to be prayerful and mindful about their choices.
00:15:00 --> 00:15:04 Men, let's be real. You talk about women being single forever,
00:15:04 --> 00:15:10 but some of y'all are heading there too, alone and prideful.
00:15:10 --> 00:15:15 You keep shooting your shot at women who require emotional intelligence,
00:15:16 --> 00:15:23 leadership, integrity, and you haven't done the hard work to grow in any of that.
00:15:23 --> 00:15:28 The truth is the women you really wanted told you no thank you.
00:15:28 --> 00:15:38 And now you're out here bitter dragging all women like it's their fault.
00:15:39 --> 00:15:43 And, but sir, so are you.
00:15:44 --> 00:15:48 You'll be single too if you don't let God work on you.
00:15:48 --> 00:15:54 And it goes into some other subtitles like why singleness is not always a problem.
00:15:54 --> 00:16:00 It also talks about modern pressures make Christian dating harder.
00:16:00 --> 00:16:04 It says why some Christian women feel frustrated too.
00:16:04 --> 00:16:09 So there's you know it goes into a couple different subtitles I'm not going
00:16:09 --> 00:16:15 to read all of that but I just wanted to kind of you know kind of hit the.
00:16:16 --> 00:16:21 Hard part of it which is just talking about the struggles in the Christian datings
00:16:21 --> 00:16:27 and everything you know back in the day when the dating sites were at their heyday,
00:16:28 --> 00:16:33 you know the online dating Yeah, the online dating.
00:16:33 --> 00:16:39 Yeah, when they were in their heydays, when places like Black Planet and Black
00:16:39 --> 00:16:43 People Meet and, you know, Black singles and all that kind of stuff was out there.
00:16:44 --> 00:16:47 And it's still out there, but I'm just saying, when they were at the top of
00:16:47 --> 00:16:52 their game, you know, there was also Christian Mingle, you know,
00:16:52 --> 00:16:54 and some of these other sites that were out there.
00:16:55 --> 00:17:00 Now, you know, of course, you and I had both heard this in the past,
00:17:01 --> 00:17:07 So where did they say you could meet the biggest, I'm just going to go ahead
00:17:07 --> 00:17:12 and say it, the biggest freaks at, or what site out of all those sites did you think that I named?
00:17:12 --> 00:17:16 Which ones did you think they said you would meet the biggest freaks,
00:17:16 --> 00:17:21 the most interesting women, and all of that kind of stuff? What site do you think that was?
00:17:21 --> 00:17:25 All right, so name them all again. I said, okay, black planet,
00:17:26 --> 00:17:29 black singles, black singles, black people meet.
00:17:30 --> 00:17:33 What else did I say? Kristen Mingle.
00:17:34 --> 00:17:38 I also said there's a couple other ones with Tango.
00:17:39 --> 00:17:42 Oh, well, Plenty of Fish is another one.
00:17:43 --> 00:17:47 You know, so those were some of the popular ones.
00:17:47 --> 00:17:50 Which one do you think they used to say if you wanted to be,
00:17:50 --> 00:17:56 you know, somebody that was, you know, easy to get hooked up with and all of that kind of stuff?
00:17:56 --> 00:17:59 Which site do you think out of those ones I just named was the easiest place to go?
00:18:00 --> 00:18:03 So I'm not really sure because, you know, I was usually a Bible study.
00:18:03 --> 00:18:13 But for us but you know for all my single brothers you would probably say and
00:18:13 --> 00:18:15 I can't speak from my own experience because I.
00:18:17 --> 00:18:26 I never had that type of luck or maybe bad luck but I would probably I don't
00:18:26 --> 00:18:29 know I mean I'd either say black planet or black people meet,
00:18:31 --> 00:18:35 I mean one of those I remember reading an article,
00:18:35 --> 00:18:38 and this is, we'll read it. We're in 2025.
00:18:39 --> 00:18:44 So I'm saying around the early 2000s, probably around 2001, 2002,
00:18:45 --> 00:18:46 somewhere around there. All right.
00:18:47 --> 00:18:55 That said the site that seemed to have the biggest chance of a hookup,
00:18:56 --> 00:18:58 if you know what I'm saying. Yeah.
00:18:58 --> 00:19:01 Was Kristen Mingles. Are you serious?
00:19:01 --> 00:19:07 That's crazy. So, Dave, now we know what they say about those preacher's kids.
00:19:08 --> 00:19:15 Yep. Yeah. It was interesting because there was, you know, there were a lot
00:19:15 --> 00:19:20 of men and women who were on there, you know, and don't get me wrong.
00:19:20 --> 00:19:25 Now, I'm not saying that they wasn't religious or, you know,
00:19:25 --> 00:19:28 definitely in church or whatever the case may be.
00:19:28 --> 00:19:33 But they still had that other side of them that they just wanted to be with
00:19:33 --> 00:19:35 people, you know, whatever the case might be.
00:19:35 --> 00:19:40 But why was it so freaky, though? I mean, they had the biggest hookup.
00:19:41 --> 00:19:48 Yes, because, you know, you know, when something is forbidden, think about this.
00:19:48 --> 00:19:52 Let's just use psychology as an aspect here.
00:19:53 --> 00:19:57 When something is forbidden, if you're told, if you walk into a,
00:19:58 --> 00:20:01 a room and there's people there and
00:20:01 --> 00:20:05 they said whatever you do don't go
00:20:05 --> 00:20:10 in that room that room or that room okay and
00:20:10 --> 00:20:16 you say why not they said i don't know just don't go in there they they just
00:20:16 --> 00:20:21 said don't go in that room those rooms okay so you're gonna spend the whole
00:20:21 --> 00:20:26 night while you're there trying to figure out why you shouldn't go in one of these rooms. Right?
00:20:27 --> 00:20:31 Because it's just natural that.
00:20:32 --> 00:20:38 It's going to make you think about that. So, and eventually,
00:20:38 --> 00:20:42 some people would actually make their way towards one of those doors.
00:20:42 --> 00:20:50 You know? I think what happens with a site like Kristen Mingle and some of the other, you know,
00:20:50 --> 00:20:58 Kristen sites is the guys go on there and women go on there to see if they can
00:20:58 --> 00:21:03 hook up with somebody and then try to get them to hook up.
00:21:05 --> 00:21:09 Now, sometimes, you know, they might have to work to do it, you know,
00:21:09 --> 00:21:14 because they're throwing all the Kristen stuff at you and, you know,
00:21:14 --> 00:21:16 I'm saved and all of this kind of stuff.
00:21:16 --> 00:21:23 But, you know, saved people, they have that other side of them too. You know what I mean?
00:21:23 --> 00:21:26 Yeah, I'm sure they do. Yeah, they do. They do. They do.
00:21:27 --> 00:21:32 So, but it's just interesting, you know, So when you look at a story like this
00:21:32 --> 00:21:37 and you're attributed to yourself, especially when it comes to a male,
00:21:37 --> 00:21:43 and especially if you're a male of a certain age and you're trying to find somebody
00:21:43 --> 00:21:47 to hook up with, but then do you really want to put in all the work?
00:21:47 --> 00:21:55 Or or do you want to chase do you want to go after something that's going to make you,
00:21:56 --> 00:22:01 you know have to work you know real real hard to get it or do you want to just settle for,
00:22:02 --> 00:22:06 okay well i can hang out with this person i can do this i can do that without
00:22:06 --> 00:22:10 having to go through all that other stuff and especially once you get a certain
00:22:10 --> 00:22:14 age you ain't trying to you know i get it you know you want things to come a
00:22:14 --> 00:22:15 little easier you know what i mean.
00:22:16 --> 00:22:19 So what's your thoughts i mean tell me what you're thinking
00:22:19 --> 00:22:23 are we talking about why
00:22:23 --> 00:22:28 men are dying single or just the fact that yeah well the whole thing you know
00:22:28 --> 00:22:33 do you agree with that statement that men are dying single i i don't i don't
00:22:33 --> 00:22:39 disagree with it i also feel that dating is very complicated for men and women.
00:22:40 --> 00:22:44 So it's kind of like they talked about men not recognizing a good woman, a woman.
00:22:44 --> 00:22:50 And I feel like it's the same thing for men. I think a lot of men and women
00:22:50 --> 00:22:58 judge the other on superficial or, and they, just from a woman to a man point of view,
00:22:58 --> 00:23:01 he's too short, he's too nerdy,
00:23:02 --> 00:23:04 he's too light-skinned.
00:23:06 --> 00:23:10 And on the flip side, Men are probably judging women on, oh,
00:23:10 --> 00:23:12 she don't have real hair.
00:23:13 --> 00:23:18 You know, you know, whatever it is. So I think both, you know,
00:23:18 --> 00:23:19 I think both of us are missing out.
00:23:19 --> 00:23:26 So, I mean, I think dating is complicated, but I think a lot of men are running
00:23:26 --> 00:23:30 from relationships and a lot of women are running to relationships.
00:23:30 --> 00:23:37 So I can see more women getting older, being in a relationship and more men,
00:23:37 --> 00:23:43 you know, kind of, you know, done, let's say, skipped over a lot of great prospects.
00:23:44 --> 00:23:48 And now, you know, things are winding down and, you know, maybe,
00:23:48 --> 00:23:51 maybe those prospects aren't, which is weird because I, you know,
00:23:51 --> 00:23:56 since men die younger and we all hear about the retirement homes or, you know, men have
00:23:56 --> 00:23:59 odds, but, you know, long story short, you know, I just think,
00:23:59 --> 00:24:01 you know, women want to be in relationships.
00:24:01 --> 00:24:06 So they find relationships and they're, you know, and men,
00:24:06 --> 00:24:09 you know, men may look for those relationships too late so
00:24:09 --> 00:24:12 they're more likely to be single yeah i
00:24:12 --> 00:24:15 agree i agree with that wholeheartedly but i
00:24:15 --> 00:24:19 also think also that there's a lot of pressure on
00:24:19 --> 00:24:22 men and women i'll even put the
00:24:22 --> 00:24:29 women in there because of the of social media yeah has changed the game and
00:24:29 --> 00:24:34 you know if you don't look a certain way if you don't have you know a certain
00:24:34 --> 00:24:39 cachet about you or or with you, you know, it's going to be hard.
00:24:40 --> 00:24:44 It's going to be hard trying to get what you want. You know what I mean?
00:24:45 --> 00:24:50 When you go on, you know, the social media sites, you know, X and,
00:24:50 --> 00:24:56 you know, Instagram and Threads, I mean, you know, you name it, TikTok.
00:24:57 --> 00:25:02 Women, man, they a lot of them, you know, when you look at them,
00:25:02 --> 00:25:06 you say to yourself, man, how am I supposed to get something like that?
00:25:07 --> 00:25:14 You know, you know, or, or how are you saying to yourself, even with the guys,
00:25:14 --> 00:25:19 even with the other men, you know, what's my man? The dude, what's his name? Aston?
00:25:19 --> 00:25:21 The guy that does all that. Yeah.
00:25:22 --> 00:25:24 Aston Hall. Oh, yeah. Okay.
00:25:25 --> 00:25:30 You know, that dude, man, you know, he runs, you know, he runs and when you
00:25:30 --> 00:25:33 look at the comedy, all the women are in the comedy, you know,
00:25:34 --> 00:25:35 his muscles are muscling.
00:25:36 --> 00:25:39 You know what I mean? You know, you say to yourself, you say to yourself,
00:25:39 --> 00:25:44 you know, how are you supposed to compete with somebody like that? You know, so but then.
00:25:45 --> 00:25:50 Are women that superficial that every woman that sees him wants him?
00:25:50 --> 00:25:56 No. Yeah, there you go. You know, because, of course, you're not the only one
00:25:56 --> 00:25:56 that's going to want him.
00:25:57 --> 00:26:00 You may keep with him, but then you're going to spend most of your time trying
00:26:00 --> 00:26:02 to keep other people off of him.
00:26:02 --> 00:26:07 Yeah, and you only say what I think is so weird about that. Well, not him in particular.
00:26:08 --> 00:26:12 Just in general. And this is how, you know, you know everybody has a different
00:26:12 --> 00:26:20 type. So, you know, sometimes like if we just think about what a woman would want.
00:26:20 --> 00:26:23 Right. And let's say we talk specifically about about a black woman.
00:26:23 --> 00:26:28 You know, in my mind, if I had if I thought about a black woman being interviewed,
00:26:29 --> 00:26:35 I feel like she would say she wants somebody six foot tall, muscular build,
00:26:35 --> 00:26:38 goatee or, you know, facial hair.
00:26:39 --> 00:26:44 You know, of course, you know, good S.E.X. Right. You know, of course,
00:26:44 --> 00:26:45 makes a certain amount of money.
00:26:46 --> 00:26:53 Yeah. Yep. You know, those are ambitious, you know, has a career degree, you know, dependent.
00:26:53 --> 00:26:59 And then I look at, and the same time I heard this, I looked at some of these
00:26:59 --> 00:27:02 rappers, like the baby. Yeah.
00:27:03 --> 00:27:08 Little Uzi Vert. I don't know if you remember, he was the city girls.
00:27:08 --> 00:27:13 And it's like, okay, like, so this obvious Tory Lane, Tory Lane 55.
00:27:13 --> 00:27:16 Now, now I get it. They have money. They have prestige.
00:27:17 --> 00:27:21 Money makes them all look attractive, man. But Dave, if you go to the mall,
00:27:21 --> 00:27:26 you'll see some women of a certain, or who you think are of a certain caliber.
00:27:27 --> 00:27:30 And some of the people with they're with and appear
00:27:30 --> 00:27:33 to be in a relationship don't seem like that type
00:27:33 --> 00:27:36 and it's like okay so i know this is
00:27:36 --> 00:27:39 not standard because they clearly every woman
00:27:39 --> 00:27:45 can't have a six foot tall muscular you know i mean like they're just not they're
00:27:45 --> 00:27:50 not enough of them in a ramp well i don't know i mean you know because with
00:27:50 --> 00:27:57 these these girls that you know call themselves instagram models and all this kind of stuff,
00:27:57 --> 00:27:59 they seem to have a plethora of them guys around, you know?
00:28:00 --> 00:28:05 So most of them are basketball and football players. But they're all sharing
00:28:05 --> 00:28:08 the same man. I know. Yeah, that's true.
00:28:09 --> 00:28:13 Dave, I saw something, and there was a timeline that had Amber Rose and it showed
00:28:13 --> 00:28:16 her dating. Did you see that? Yeah.
00:28:16 --> 00:28:22 And it's like, everybody was a known person. It's like, okay, y'all are...
00:28:23 --> 00:28:28 Yeah, I know. And anytime I see one of those things pop up with the dating history
00:28:28 --> 00:28:31 of the person, I'd be like, wow.
00:28:33 --> 00:28:37 But that's where we are, though. I mean, status is the key.
00:28:37 --> 00:28:46 If you want one of them people like that, then you got to have something to offer.
00:28:46 --> 00:28:53 And that brings us back to what we started with is why a lot of guys are dying single.
00:28:54 --> 00:28:59 Because they have a hard time trying to compete with, you know,
00:28:59 --> 00:29:04 what the standard is today as far as trying to hook up with the perfect woman.
00:29:05 --> 00:29:10 The perfect woman doesn't necessarily mean that they're perfect,
00:29:10 --> 00:29:13 but it's perfect for them. Yeah, I agree.
00:29:14 --> 00:29:18 And Dave, you know, and I mean, you can probably agree.
00:29:19 --> 00:29:23 And, you know, I always think it's funny when people say they don't have a type.
00:29:24 --> 00:29:29 Yeah. But I can definitely agree with that because, you know,
00:29:29 --> 00:29:34 I think as a man, I'm sure for a woman, you know, you I think it's possible
00:29:34 --> 00:29:36 to like a lot of different types.
00:29:37 --> 00:29:40 And, you know, I mean, you can end up who you end up with. But,
00:29:40 --> 00:29:42 you know, there's some people who like muscular.
00:29:42 --> 00:29:46 There's some there's some people out there who say they like dad bods.
00:29:46 --> 00:29:50 You know what I mean? And so it's kind of like, you know, I don't know.
00:29:50 --> 00:29:54 You know, I think you kind of like what you like, and I had,
00:29:54 --> 00:30:00 I had someone tell me, go ahead, tell us all the juicy details.
00:30:01 --> 00:30:06 No, I had a colleague of mine who just recently got married like a year ago. Okay.
00:30:07 --> 00:30:11 And, you know, I knew she got married. I didn't go to the wedding or anything,
00:30:11 --> 00:30:13 but I knew she got married and everything.
00:30:14 --> 00:30:20 So I never, I didn't know her husband. I met him at a function that I went to.
00:30:21 --> 00:30:24 And she came in first, and then she got there before he did.
00:30:24 --> 00:30:25 They came in separate cars.
00:30:26 --> 00:30:29 And she told me, she said, oh, you'll get a chance to meet my husband,
00:30:29 --> 00:30:32 because she was kidding me. I didn't go to the wedding. I was invited to the
00:30:32 --> 00:30:33 wedding, but I didn't go.
00:30:34 --> 00:30:39 So she said, since you didn't come to my wedding, you'll get a chance to meet my husband.
00:30:39 --> 00:30:43 Let it guy walked in and i
00:30:43 --> 00:30:48 was like and you know this girl
00:30:48 --> 00:30:52 never had a problem getting a man i'm gonna tell you that now never yeah she's
00:30:52 --> 00:30:56 she's almost my age and she's still fine i'm gonna tell you that now never had
00:30:56 --> 00:31:05 a problem but when the guy walked in you know he was not what i was expecting
00:31:05 --> 00:31:07 this thing. I'm going to put it down that way.
00:31:07 --> 00:31:12 Well, you said you had to do a double take? Yeah, I had to do a double take.
00:31:13 --> 00:31:17 And so she brings him over. I meet him.
00:31:17 --> 00:31:23 We shake hands. And he said, oh, he said, yeah, he said, you know, I know who you are.
00:31:23 --> 00:31:26 He said, and he said, I've even listened to your podcast.
00:31:26 --> 00:31:29 He said, because, you know. Well, hold on, Dave.
00:31:30 --> 00:31:34 Are you sure you want to be talking to him? Well, no, well, you know.
00:31:35 --> 00:31:38 It ain't that big of a deal because we laughed about it.
00:31:39 --> 00:31:46 I'm going to tell you why. Because after, you know, he went to get something to drink.
00:31:46 --> 00:31:48 And we're sitting there, we're standing there talking.
00:31:48 --> 00:31:52 And, you know, and he said, he said, he started laughing. I said,
00:31:52 --> 00:31:53 what are you laughing about?
00:31:53 --> 00:31:57 And he said, he said, I saw that look you gave me when I walked in.
00:31:57 --> 00:32:01 And I said, yeah, I said, what do you mean? And he said, he said,
00:32:02 --> 00:32:05 yeah, he said, I don't know. He said, I don't know how it happened to me, man.
00:32:06 --> 00:32:09 That's exactly what he said to me. And I said, what? And he said,
00:32:10 --> 00:32:16 he said, I know she's your friend, you know, because he told me about you.
00:32:16 --> 00:32:19 He said, he said, but I'm still pitching myself.
00:32:20 --> 00:32:24 He said, he said that I don't know how I ended up with this woman.
00:32:24 --> 00:32:27 He said, and I'm letting you know, I'm never letting go.
00:32:31 --> 00:32:35 And so it was, all I could do was laugh because he knew exactly,
00:32:35 --> 00:32:37 he caught my face, but that's all.
00:32:37 --> 00:32:44 Yeah. You know, and, you know, not that he's an ugly guy. He just was not what I was expecting to see.
00:32:44 --> 00:32:47 And it gave all regular guys hope.
00:32:48 --> 00:32:52 You know what I mean? You know, because some women, and I've had women that
00:32:52 --> 00:32:56 told me that were very attractive to say, you know, of course,
00:32:56 --> 00:32:58 they've been called unapproachable.
00:32:59 --> 00:33:03 And they're very approachable. It's just that it just takes somebody bold enough
00:33:03 --> 00:33:04 to say something to them.
00:33:04 --> 00:33:07 Yeah, well, Dave, you know, we do always hear that, you know,
00:33:07 --> 00:33:13 girls who feel, there's probably a certain look that intimidates some men.
00:33:13 --> 00:33:17 And they say they don't get approached a lot, which I believe.
00:33:18 --> 00:33:21 Yeah, and I've been told that many times by other women as well.
00:33:23 --> 00:33:27 People say on the hook. So you're saying people have told you you have a certain
00:33:27 --> 00:33:29 look and they're intimidated to approach you?
00:33:29 --> 00:33:34 Okay, Dave, I see. Well, you just said you get told that by women.
00:33:34 --> 00:33:38 No, no, no, no. I have a sign around my neck. Say hi.
00:33:40 --> 00:33:44 Right. Free hug. Yeah, there you go. There you go.
00:33:44 --> 00:33:50 But anyway, I'm sure we'll have some comments about this whole little segment
00:33:50 --> 00:33:53 here, I'm sure. I can't wait to hear what people have to say about it.
00:33:53 --> 00:33:55 But hopefully people understand.
00:33:55 --> 00:33:59 I mean, you know, it is definitely a concern with the dating,
00:33:59 --> 00:34:01 how dating goes these days.
00:34:01 --> 00:34:05 And especially if you're an older person like myself,
00:34:05 --> 00:34:10 because then, you know, if you have aspirations of getting married again or
00:34:10 --> 00:34:14 whatever the case might be, you know, and trying to find that person that you
00:34:14 --> 00:34:17 might want to spend the rest of your life with, it's a little harder once you
00:34:17 --> 00:34:19 get over a certain age to do that.
00:34:19 --> 00:34:24 You know, not saying it's not possible, but the dating pool is definitely different
00:34:24 --> 00:34:27 when you get over a certain age. Yeah, for sure.
00:34:27 --> 00:34:29 And that's why a lot of people date younger.
00:34:30 --> 00:34:35 So, but anyway, I'm interested in what you guys have to say.
00:34:36 --> 00:34:41 I'm sure we'll hear about it. So, but we're going to move on to our next story.
00:34:43 --> 00:34:47 This is a follow-up to a story that we talked about. Of course,
00:34:47 --> 00:34:49 you guys have heard about Mr.
00:34:49 --> 00:34:55 Shannon Sharp and the little trouble that he got himself into a couple months ago.
00:34:56 --> 00:35:02 This is kind of a follow-up to that story. It says, Gabriella Zuniga retires
00:35:02 --> 00:35:08 from OnlyFans following Shannon Sharp's settlement. And think about this, folks.
00:35:08 --> 00:35:13 She retired from OnlyFans, and she was doing pretty good on OnlyFans from what they said.
00:35:14 --> 00:35:15 She retired from OnlyFans.
00:35:16 --> 00:35:21 You know it had to be something good to retire from OnlyFans.
00:35:21 --> 00:35:24 She didn't just leave on OnlyFans. She retired from OnlyFans.
00:35:24 --> 00:35:29 And Dave, isn't she like 20? How old is she? She's only like 22 or something like that.
00:35:30 --> 00:35:36 She's young. Yeah. So when you retire, that means you good.
00:35:36 --> 00:35:40 You know what I mean? So let's see what the story says. It says,
00:35:40 --> 00:35:47 in April 2025, a woman known as Jane Doe filed a $50 million lawsuit against
00:35:47 --> 00:35:50 Shannon Sharpe, accusing him of sexual assault.
00:35:50 --> 00:35:59 In the statement following the allegations, Sharpe's legal team revealed that
00:35:59 --> 00:36:02 Jane Doe was a woman that...
00:36:02 --> 00:36:07 Her real name was Gabriela Zuniga, an OnlyFans content creator.
00:36:08 --> 00:36:12 Last week, Zuniga's lawyer, Tony Busby, revealed that that man,
00:36:12 --> 00:36:14 Tony Busby is everywhere, man.
00:36:14 --> 00:36:17 I'm telling you, every time you hear about a court case nowadays,
00:36:17 --> 00:36:20 it seems like his name is attached to it. A civil case, anyway.
00:36:21 --> 00:36:26 Revealed that the two parties have reached an undisclosed amount during the settlement.
00:36:27 --> 00:36:33 I'm pleased to announce that we have reached a mutually agreed upon resolution.
00:36:33 --> 00:36:39 All matters have been addressed satisfactorily, and the matter is closed.
00:36:39 --> 00:36:44 The lawsuit will thus be dismissed with prejudice, Buzzbee tweeted.
00:36:45 --> 00:36:51 Over the weekend, Zaniga reportedly announced her retirement. I love it.
00:36:53 --> 00:36:56 You know you had to get some money if you announced your retirement.
00:36:56 --> 00:37:05 From the subscription-based content platform OnlyFans in a single deleted Instagram
00:37:05 --> 00:37:10 post, which has since been deleted, an Instagram post.
00:37:10 --> 00:37:18 It says, It almost sounds like the speech from Independence Day.
00:37:18 --> 00:37:26 Today, I have decided to retire from OnlyFans. Thank you for the incredible
00:37:26 --> 00:37:29 support you've shown me over the past few years.
00:37:29 --> 00:37:35 This community has given me a life I could only imagine, she wrote.
00:37:35 --> 00:37:40 I'll still be active on social media and have several new projects in the works
00:37:40 --> 00:37:42 that I can't wait to share.
00:37:43 --> 00:37:48 I'm truly excited for this next chapter. I love you all forever.
00:37:48 --> 00:37:55 And then it says since the lofty following the club's Shay Shay host has maintained,
00:37:56 --> 00:38:03 his innocence denying all accusations Sharp's legal team previously called.
00:38:04 --> 00:38:09 Case a blatant and cynical attempt to shake down Mr.
00:38:09 --> 00:38:14 Sharp for millions of dollars, claiming it was filed with lies,
00:38:14 --> 00:38:17 distortions, and misrepresentation.
00:38:17 --> 00:38:25 Now, considering, well, remember also that Sharp tried to pay her off.
00:38:25 --> 00:38:28 And, you know, once this, you know, before this hit
00:38:28 --> 00:38:31 the media he offered her 10 million to
00:38:31 --> 00:38:36 go away and she said no so reportedly
00:38:36 --> 00:38:40 they're saying that she got 20 million oh
00:38:40 --> 00:38:48 wow yeah that's what they said she got so think about that so yeah that's enough
00:38:48 --> 00:38:54 to walk away from only fans i will say that yeah and she really ain't i mean
00:38:54 --> 00:38:58 if she played her cards right she really ain't gotta do anything for the rest of her life really,
00:38:59 --> 00:39:02 well we already know she not gonna play our cards yeah we already know yeah
00:39:02 --> 00:39:05 we already know she'll be back she already got a couple things in the work she
00:39:05 --> 00:39:08 says so that means she's going well,
00:39:09 --> 00:39:14 no this if you're a baller or a shot caller to stay y'all might want to stay
00:39:14 --> 00:39:21 away you know that's all I gotta say so but this is this seems to be the best
00:39:21 --> 00:39:24 way to go nowadays is to get rich quick,
00:39:25 --> 00:39:27 by setting yourself up.
00:39:29 --> 00:39:35 To, because I mean, you know, think about it. Shannon Sharp's 50-something years old. Right.
00:39:36 --> 00:39:39 And she's 22. What's he thinking? Money?
00:39:40 --> 00:39:43 No, what's he thinking? We know what she's thinking. What's he thinking?
00:39:43 --> 00:39:45 Well, we already know what he's thinking. Yeah.
00:39:46 --> 00:39:50 In fact, Dave, we already know what everyone in this saga is thinking.
00:39:51 --> 00:39:53 Yeah, yeah, yeah. Unfortunately.
00:39:53 --> 00:39:58 And we're, you know, we know what Dr. Umar is thinking, too.
00:39:58 --> 00:40:01 You know so but i mean you know
00:40:01 --> 00:40:04 when you think about it this is you gotta
00:40:04 --> 00:40:07 be smarter you gotta think differently
00:40:07 --> 00:40:14 and you know shannon has lost sponsors over this whole thing you know he didn't
00:40:14 --> 00:40:19 lose fortunately enough he didn't lose his show because he's still been doing
00:40:19 --> 00:40:24 club shay shay stuff you know so he's still in that and uh the other podcast
00:40:24 --> 00:40:26 what is it Yeah, the late night.
00:40:27 --> 00:40:32 So he's still doing that, and he's still got some money coming in.
00:40:32 --> 00:40:37 But he had to step away from his ESPN gig, but they're talking about bringing
00:40:37 --> 00:40:41 him back during football season, now that this has been settled.
00:40:42 --> 00:40:46 I mean, what's your thoughts on this whole thing? You know, $20 million, man?
00:40:47 --> 00:40:55 So I think, well, I mean, I think it's hard Because if, you know,
00:40:55 --> 00:40:57 if Shannon committed the crime,
00:40:57 --> 00:41:03 you know, then I guess technically that Shannon committed the crime, you got to pay the dime.
00:41:03 --> 00:41:08 Yeah. So, I mean, if that's the case, then he should have to pay.
00:41:10 --> 00:41:17 Now, the question on the flip side would be, did she take advantage of the situation
00:41:17 --> 00:41:20 to try to extort him for all the money?
00:41:20 --> 00:41:23 You know, so, I mean, you know, I think there's two angles here.
00:41:23 --> 00:41:26 And of course, I mean, you know, we we don't want to victim shame.
00:41:27 --> 00:41:30 But, you know, there are a lot of people out here who are looking for paydays
00:41:30 --> 00:41:32 and they're not manufacturer.
00:41:33 --> 00:41:37 However, they got a manufacturer to get that payday, you know, so.
00:41:38 --> 00:41:43 Yeah, well, I mean, it seems to be, and it's unfortunate because, I mean,
00:41:44 --> 00:41:48 now, of course, you, neither Leonard or myself, would ever dismiss the fact
00:41:48 --> 00:41:52 that, you know, because she, you know, one of the main allegations was that
00:41:52 --> 00:41:55 she was raped, you know, against her will.
00:41:55 --> 00:41:59 And of course we would never make any light
00:41:59 --> 00:42:02 of the fact that that happened and of course you know
00:42:02 --> 00:42:05 they said all you have to do is if a woman
00:42:05 --> 00:42:12 says no and you you know and you penetrate her especially without a condom that's
00:42:12 --> 00:42:17 considered rape did you know did you know that by the way are you talking about
00:42:17 --> 00:42:23 versus with the condom versus without yeah yeah not really yeah that But, yeah,
00:42:23 --> 00:42:31 if she says no and you penetrate her without a condom on,
00:42:31 --> 00:42:39 that's considered fourth entry and it's considered great. So what if there is a condom?
00:42:40 --> 00:42:46 Well, if there's a condom and, you know, and they look at that a little bit
00:42:46 --> 00:42:52 differently because they feel that there might be some type of consensual situation.
00:42:53 --> 00:42:56 And, you know, it's hard, too, because even with the condom,
00:42:56 --> 00:43:00 no condom, it's still he say, she say, you know, like.
00:43:00 --> 00:43:05 And it's always that. It's always that. I mean, you know, the whole thing about
00:43:05 --> 00:43:11 what happened with the Diddy trial comes down to, you know, I don't know if
00:43:11 --> 00:43:15 you heard all the stuff that was said in reference to Cassie and these free golf things.
00:43:15 --> 00:43:20 But, you know, one of the things that they felt that puppy was going to get
00:43:20 --> 00:43:24 off with a lot of the stuff because they said she wasn't being forced.
00:43:24 --> 00:43:27 Yeah. And that she set up somewhat, you know.
00:43:28 --> 00:43:33 And she set up a lot of the hookups. So, you know, so, you know,
00:43:33 --> 00:43:37 so when you get into those type of things, but, you know, Shannon had to be smarter.
00:43:37 --> 00:43:41 He really had to be smarter in this situation, you know, you know,
00:43:41 --> 00:43:45 and, and they said he had to sell some stuff in order to pay,
00:43:45 --> 00:43:48 to pay this woman, you know?
00:43:48 --> 00:43:53 So, you know, we have to be smarter, and especially these athletes and these
00:43:53 --> 00:44:00 entertainers when it comes to dealing with women, especially the younger women.
00:44:00 --> 00:44:05 And then when you're dealing, you know, I'm trying not to go a certain place
00:44:05 --> 00:44:06 with this, you know, but, you know.
00:44:09 --> 00:44:13 It doesn't look good. The aesthetics doesn't look good. You know what I'm saying? Yeah, yeah.
00:44:14 --> 00:44:17 You know, because of it, you know, because what do we always say?
00:44:17 --> 00:44:20 You and I have said it to each other here we go again haven't we said that before,
00:44:21 --> 00:44:26 yeah you know so but you know Shannon,
00:44:28 --> 00:44:35 what's up man I hope I hope we you know Shannon just had a rough year and a
00:44:35 --> 00:44:38 half you know he got he started you know starting,
00:44:39 --> 00:44:44 up you know on you know leaked sex tapes and all kinds of stuff you know I mean
00:44:44 --> 00:44:47 you know oh man I'll tell you.
00:44:49 --> 00:44:54 Hopefully, hopefully he survives this fully, but he's going to,
00:44:54 --> 00:44:57 you know, it's going to take a little bit. So, yeah,
00:44:57 --> 00:45:01 Anyway, moving on to our next story. I just wanted to bring that up since,
00:45:01 --> 00:45:07 you know, especially since my girl says she was retiring. I can't even retire.
00:45:07 --> 00:45:12 I need to get a bag like that. I ain't doing it that way, but I need to get a bag like that, though.
00:45:13 --> 00:45:16 You know, so. Yeah, I get it. Yeah, so.
00:45:17 --> 00:45:19 But anyway, let's move on to our next story.
00:45:20 --> 00:45:23 Yep, so Dave, so the next story, and of course, so a lot of people are watching
00:45:23 --> 00:45:27 the WNBA All-Star Game this weekend.
00:45:27 --> 00:45:31 And one of the biggest, let's say biggest,
00:45:32 --> 00:45:39 remembrances from that game were that every player on the floor wore a black
00:45:39 --> 00:45:45 short shirt adorned with white lettering that said, pay us what you owe us.
00:45:45 --> 00:45:54 So, of course, that all stems from years of WNBA players saying that they do
00:45:54 --> 00:46:00 not get paid what they are owed and they do not get paid anywhere close to what
00:46:00 --> 00:46:03 the NBA players are making.
00:46:04 --> 00:46:09 Now, of course, you know, a lot of critics are saying that,
00:46:10 --> 00:46:14 you know, they don't bring in what the NBA brings in and that,
00:46:15 --> 00:46:20 you know, if they're not bringing it in, then technically they should not be owed all of that.
00:46:21 --> 00:46:26 So, Dave, I know you are the sports expert on the show, so I'll kind of ask
00:46:26 --> 00:46:32 for your input. Well, I watch a lot of the NBA, WNBA stuff. I've been watching
00:46:32 --> 00:46:34 this since the league started.
00:46:34 --> 00:46:37 So I've been following along,
00:46:38 --> 00:46:45 you know, with their journey as far as trying to be paid what they're worth.
00:46:47 --> 00:46:52 These women that play these games are very good at what they do.
00:46:53 --> 00:46:58 They're some of the most recognizable women in sports right now.
00:46:58 --> 00:46:59 I mean, Asia Wilson is everywhere.
00:47:00 --> 00:47:05 I mean, you know, every time you turn on the TV or you go to Instagram or X,
00:47:05 --> 00:47:07 you see pictures of Asia Wilson.
00:47:07 --> 00:47:15 Of course, you know, Kaitlin Clark is the household name that everybody likes to say now.
00:47:15 --> 00:47:20 Kaitlin, and, you know, it's kind of a mixed bag when it comes to Kaitlin,
00:47:20 --> 00:47:25 because Kaitlin has drawn a lot of attention to the WNBA ever since she came
00:47:25 --> 00:47:29 into the league, and especially women's basketball in general.
00:47:29 --> 00:47:33 So, I will have to say, you know,
00:47:33 --> 00:47:39 even though she gets a lot of credit for bringing the awareness to what's going
00:47:39 --> 00:47:46 on in the league, you know, but it's players like Aja Wilson and some of the
00:47:46 --> 00:47:48 other players out there,
00:47:48 --> 00:47:52 Nafisha Collier, who are, you know,
00:47:53 --> 00:47:57 great basketball players and women of color who have been.
00:47:59 --> 00:48:03 Know doing this for a while you know caitlin's then only in her second year
00:48:03 --> 00:48:09 but of course she is of a different color you know and of course everything
00:48:09 --> 00:48:13 gets a scent you know accentuated when,
00:48:14 --> 00:48:20 that when you get somebody white involved in the situation so at that all-star
00:48:20 --> 00:48:25 game on sunday i was watching the game i don't know if you saw at the end of
00:48:25 --> 00:48:31 the game when the players you know When they gave out the MVP trophy for the
00:48:31 --> 00:48:33 game, the commissioner,
00:48:33 --> 00:48:37 who's also a white lady, her name is Kathy Engelbert.
00:48:39 --> 00:48:46 Was announcing who the person was who won the MVP.
00:48:47 --> 00:48:52 The crowd started to say, pay them what you owe them. Pay them what you owe
00:48:52 --> 00:48:54 them. Pay them. Pay them.
00:48:55 --> 00:48:59 And every time she tried to say something, they would just drown out what she said.
00:49:00 --> 00:49:06 So in the background, one of the WMEA players had a sign in the background. They didn't know.
00:49:06 --> 00:49:10 Of course, Kathy Engelbert, the commissioner, didn't know that the player was
00:49:10 --> 00:49:14 back there. They said, pay us what you owe us.
00:49:15 --> 00:49:19 So this thing is not going to go away. They had just had a meeting with the
00:49:19 --> 00:49:26 Players Association talking about, you know, pay us, you know, what you ask.
00:49:26 --> 00:49:31 Now, if you're not a Kaitlin Clark or an Aja Wilson or some of the other players
00:49:31 --> 00:49:38 like a Sabrina Inescu or some of these other players who have shoe deals and other deals, you know,
00:49:38 --> 00:49:43 your average salary is anywhere from $75 to $200.
00:49:44 --> 00:49:53 Yeah, so I'm seeing here, it says, okay, the average salary for the 25 season
00:49:53 --> 00:49:56 is approximately $102.
00:49:58 --> 00:50:05 Rookies range start at about $78, and that's for first round picks. Right.
00:50:05 --> 00:50:10 And $66 for third round picks and undrafted players.
00:50:10 --> 00:50:15 There you go. Like I said, it started around $70. Kaitlin Clark made $70
00:50:15 --> 00:50:17 last year as a base salary.
00:50:18 --> 00:50:21 But look at all the money she brought into the league. They're actually,
00:50:21 --> 00:50:24 in the next five years, there's going to be six new teams.
00:50:25 --> 00:50:27 Yep. One being Philadelphia.
00:50:27 --> 00:50:32 Yep, Philadelphia. There's a couple cities that had teams before,
00:50:32 --> 00:50:36 like Detroit and who was the, was it Oklahoma?
00:50:36 --> 00:50:42 I forget who the other team was. But they're bringing teams back there.
00:50:42 --> 00:50:45 Of course, Philly will have one in the year...
00:50:47 --> 00:50:51 2030. They're actually building a stadium and everything for them as well.
00:50:52 --> 00:50:57 And these franchises are starting at like $250 million to buy.
00:50:59 --> 00:51:03 But these franchises are making a lot of money.
00:51:03 --> 00:51:10 The newest team that came in, the Golden State Valkyrie, they're breaking all
00:51:10 --> 00:51:14 kinds of records right now with attendance and merchandise and all of that kind of stuff.
00:51:14 --> 00:51:17 So they make money. These teams make money.
00:51:17 --> 00:51:21 Well, hold on. Let me ask this. When did that team come into the league?
00:51:21 --> 00:51:23 Because of their first season. Okay. So...
00:51:24 --> 00:51:29 And they're backed by the Golden State Warriors. So I can also see first season,
00:51:30 --> 00:51:35 you know, because of the excitement, the promotion, everything being up.
00:51:35 --> 00:51:38 But, you know, how are they going to maintain those other seasons when,
00:51:38 --> 00:51:41 like, the newness wears off for the city?
00:51:42 --> 00:51:50 Well, that's true. And that's always a possibility that the newness can change.
00:51:50 --> 00:51:52 Because that's what happened with some of the other things, like Detroit.
00:51:53 --> 00:51:56 Detroit in the past, like I said, I've been watching ever since the league started.
00:51:56 --> 00:52:03 Detroit in the past was one of the top teams in the league. They won three championships.
00:52:04 --> 00:52:07 Houston had a team. Houston won four championships.
00:52:08 --> 00:52:14 And both of those teams are no longer around because they couldn't maintain financially.
00:52:15 --> 00:52:22 You know, even though they had these great franchises, at some point, the money ran out.
00:52:22 --> 00:52:26 Right. So that's the whole thing.
00:52:26 --> 00:52:31 Let me see. Okay. Oh, I'm watching something on TV right now. Here it is right here.
00:52:31 --> 00:52:37 It just says, oh, the price of this team, the Valkyries I was just talking about. Mm-hmm.
00:52:38 --> 00:52:43 When they, okay, so this team cost $50 million when it was sold,
00:52:43 --> 00:52:46 when the people bought in $50 million.
00:52:47 --> 00:52:51 Guess what it's currently valued at right now? So this is within the first year?
00:52:52 --> 00:52:58 Right at this very moment. They just filled it. $500 million. Exactly. $500 million.
00:52:59 --> 00:53:05 So that's from last year to now. It's already gone from $50 million in value
00:53:05 --> 00:53:08 to $500 million. So they're making money.
00:53:09 --> 00:53:15 So that's why these players are saying, pay us. You're making all this money.
00:53:16 --> 00:53:18 How come we're not getting the percentage of it? Right.
00:53:19 --> 00:53:21 These salaries need to go to...
00:53:23 --> 00:53:29 At least for the superstars, you know, based on your years of service,
00:53:30 --> 00:53:32 I'm a, you know, I'm a union president.
00:53:32 --> 00:53:36 Right now, we're negotiating our salaries right now.
00:53:36 --> 00:53:41 We've been in a salary negotiation for the last six, seven months.
00:53:41 --> 00:53:46 It was supposed to be calm, and it was supposed to be decided by June the 30th.
00:53:46 --> 00:53:48 We're still waiting on them to give us the okay.
00:53:49 --> 00:53:52 Now just like what they're
00:53:52 --> 00:53:56 going through right now we're looking at tenure
00:53:56 --> 00:54:02 as being a major point because our last contract didn't have tenure included
00:54:02 --> 00:54:09 so if you we got a big raise the last contract but if you were a person who
00:54:09 --> 00:54:16 walked in the door as a new hire doing the same thing that I was doing,
00:54:17 --> 00:54:20 You got the same money I got walking in the door,
00:54:21 --> 00:54:24 which wasn't fair. You know what I mean? Because I have tenure.
00:54:25 --> 00:54:29 So this time around, me and my staff are negotiating for tenure.
00:54:29 --> 00:54:34 So if you had to, you know, if you work there for less than five years,
00:54:34 --> 00:54:36 like zero to five years, you get this amount.
00:54:37 --> 00:54:40 You get a raise with this amount. If you work there five to nine years,
00:54:40 --> 00:54:43 you get this amount, 10, you know, so forth and so forth. Every five,
00:54:44 --> 00:54:45 it'd be five-year intervals.
00:54:46 --> 00:54:50 So we're making the money look better this time around because of the tenure.
00:54:50 --> 00:54:55 You know, so in this case with the players, if you're a superstar like Asia
00:54:55 --> 00:55:03 Wilson or Nafisa Collier or even a Caitlin Clark or Brianna Stewart,
00:55:03 --> 00:55:05 these people should get topped off.
00:55:06 --> 00:55:12 OK, the new the new the rookies and everybody or the mid-level players should
00:55:12 --> 00:55:18 get their salary should go anywhere from two hundred and fifty thousand on up.
00:55:19 --> 00:55:24 So what should those top dollar amounts look like for those top dollar people?
00:55:24 --> 00:55:28 Five hundred to I would say right now at this point, five hundred million.
00:55:29 --> 00:55:31 I mean, five hundred thousand to close to a million.
00:55:32 --> 00:55:36 OK, I don't I can't see it being more than.
00:55:36 --> 00:55:42 That at this point because with them expanding everything like you just said
00:55:42 --> 00:55:46 those franchises have to be given a chance to make it. Right.
00:55:47 --> 00:55:54 Like I said they just flashed on the screen what the Valkyrie was sold for and
00:55:54 --> 00:55:56 what they're worth right now.
00:55:57 --> 00:56:04 So that's what's that 400 over a 400 percentage jump or something like that?
00:56:05 --> 00:56:06 Yes something like that.
00:56:06 --> 00:56:10 Yeah. So I'm just saying, do the math.
00:56:11 --> 00:56:15 I mean, there is money out there to be made. I mean, you know.
00:56:16 --> 00:56:19 Dawn Staley, we all know Dawn Staley.
00:56:19 --> 00:56:25 Dawn Staley, when Dawn Staley was playing, still playing, there was a team in Philadelphia.
00:56:25 --> 00:56:30 It wasn't the WNBA. There was another league called the WBL before the WNBA.
00:56:30 --> 00:56:37 Okay, Doris Daly was making like $5 a game, yeah, a season,
00:56:38 --> 00:56:41 $5 to $10 a season because they just didn't have the money.
00:56:42 --> 00:56:47 You know, so this is the problem, especially when you got these guys in the NBA.
00:56:47 --> 00:56:54 You know, there was a guy that signed a contract recently. He's making $72 million a season.
00:56:55 --> 00:57:02 And they only play like four months, four to five months. So, $72 million?
00:57:03 --> 00:57:07 Think about that. That's a lot of money. And these girls ain't getting,
00:57:07 --> 00:57:12 that's not even 1%. They're not even getting 1% of what these guys make. Right.
00:57:13 --> 00:57:16 So, just something to talk about. You know, something to think about.
00:57:17 --> 00:57:20 Hopefully, that this dance that they took on Sunday during the All-Star Game.
00:57:21 --> 00:57:25 And, you know, matter of fact, there's a young lady on TV right now talking
00:57:25 --> 00:57:32 about it. But, you know, she's one of the negotiators for the CBA.
00:57:34 --> 00:57:38 It's real serious right now, and especially since they're seeing all this money
00:57:38 --> 00:57:41 that the WNBA... You got guys walking off the street.
00:57:41 --> 00:57:45 You don't even know who these stuff. You got guys coming into the WNBA,
00:57:45 --> 00:57:50 I mean, into the NBA right now, making $10 to $15 million. Nobody ever heard of before.
00:57:52 --> 00:57:58 And these girls are household names. Just something to think about.
00:57:58 --> 00:58:06 I'm glad that they stood up and they made the plea. I'm glad that the crowd got into it.
00:58:06 --> 00:58:11 You know, all they needed was Rihanna singing her song, Better Have My Money.
00:58:11 --> 00:58:13 That's all they needed. That's all they needed, you know.
00:58:14 --> 00:58:20 But anyway, but, man, you know, I'm very passionate about it because I watched the game.
00:58:20 --> 00:58:25 So I see what's going on here. And, you know, this goes back to Title IX.
00:58:25 --> 00:58:31 You know, Title IX was drawn up about women and, you know, women's sports and so forth.
00:58:31 --> 00:58:35 And you know it wasn't until Serena and Venus,
00:58:36 --> 00:58:41 you know challenged the tennis world to make sure they got equal pay you know,
00:58:42 --> 00:58:48 so we definitely have to pay them what they're worth definitely I agree with that,
00:58:49 --> 00:58:53 alright I'm done I'm off my soapbox alright,
00:58:54 --> 00:58:59 let's move it on let's move it on then to our favorite guy Leonard's favorite
00:58:59 --> 00:59:00 guy since he talked about him earlier.
00:59:03 --> 00:59:08 Well, no, let me stop that. The president of United States, I was going to say
00:59:08 --> 00:59:09 our president, he's not.
00:59:09 --> 00:59:17 Anyway, he's threatening to hold up a stadium deal in Washington, D.C.
00:59:17 --> 00:59:23 For the Washington Commanders, who is the NFL football team down there,
00:59:24 --> 00:59:29 if they don't switch back to their old name, the Washington Redskins.
00:59:31 --> 00:59:36 Only, only, only in MAGA world could this be a story.
00:59:36 --> 00:59:44 Okay. So for those of you that remember, a couple years ago is when Washington,
00:59:44 --> 00:59:49 you know, changed their name from the Washington Risk, in which they had been
00:59:49 --> 00:59:51 known all these years since the inception,
00:59:51 --> 00:59:53 just about since the inception of the team.
00:59:54 --> 01:00:00 And because they became woke and wanted to, you know.
01:00:01 --> 01:00:05 Yeah, you know, because it wasn't just them, it was a baseball team,
01:00:05 --> 01:00:07 Cleveland Indians changed their name.
01:00:07 --> 01:00:10 You know, so anything that had to do with Native American Indians,
01:00:10 --> 01:00:17 a lot of the sports teams that had those names related to them had changed their names.
01:00:17 --> 01:00:21 And the Washington Redskins went to, first they were called the Washington football
01:00:21 --> 01:00:24 team, but then they settled on the commanders.
01:00:25 --> 01:00:29 So this story says that President Donald Trump has threatened to hold up the
01:00:29 --> 01:00:36 new stadium deal for Washington NFL team if it does not restore its old name of the Redskins,
01:00:36 --> 01:00:40 which was considered offensive to Native Americans.
01:00:41 --> 01:00:46 Trump also says Sunday that he wants Cleveland's baseball team to revert to
01:00:46 --> 01:00:54 its former name, the Indians, saying that there was a big clamoring for this as well.
01:00:54 --> 01:00:59 The Washington Commanders and the Cleveland Guardians have had their current
01:00:59 --> 01:01:06 name since 2022, and both have said they had no plans on changing back to their old names.
01:01:08 --> 01:01:15 Trump said the Washington football team would be much more valuable if they restored the old name.
01:01:15 --> 01:01:21 I may put a restriction on them that if they don't change the name back to the
01:01:21 --> 01:01:26 original Washington Redskins and get rid of this ridiculous moniker,
01:01:26 --> 01:01:32 the Washington Commanders, I won't make a deal for them to build a new stadium in Washington,
01:01:32 --> 01:01:34 Trump said on his social media site.
01:01:34 --> 01:01:45 Okay why are we allowing this president to do this type of stuff why I don't get I mean,
01:01:45 --> 01:01:51 did that sound like a bully just then of course so you know I guess my question
01:01:51 --> 01:01:59 is first of all does he even have the power to stop you know did we think the
01:01:59 --> 01:02:04 president the president's office alone and I'm not talking about him,
01:02:05 --> 01:02:10 Did we think that the president's office alone could do half the stuff that he's done?
01:02:11 --> 01:02:16 No. Okay. Well, there you have your answer. He thinks he can do it,
01:02:16 --> 01:02:17 and that's all that matters.
01:02:18 --> 01:02:23 But the fact that he would come out with a statement like that and threaten
01:02:23 --> 01:02:27 them to change their name back is amazing to me.
01:02:27 --> 01:02:33 I just can't, I just can't believe that he thinks he has that much power to
01:02:33 --> 01:02:38 make them change their name back to the Redskins and disrespecting the Indians
01:02:38 --> 01:02:40 that way, the Native American Indians that way.
01:02:41 --> 01:02:43 Thank God it wasn't a team called the N-Words.
01:02:46 --> 01:02:50 You know what I mean? He'd be like, we're bringing the ninjas back.
01:02:50 --> 01:02:52 Yeah, you know, so. Ninjas are coming.
01:02:53 --> 01:03:02 Yeah. It says here, I wanted to read this one particular section because this is really crazy.
01:03:02 --> 01:03:07 It said the team announced it would drop the Redskins name in the Indians head
01:03:07 --> 01:03:18 logo in 2020 during a broader reckoning with systemic racism and police brutality.
01:03:18 --> 01:03:23 It says the commanders in the District of Columbia government announced a new
01:03:23 --> 01:03:29 deal earlier this year to build a new football stadium at the site of the old RFK Stadium,
01:03:30 --> 01:03:34 the place the franchise called home for more than three decades.
01:03:34 --> 01:03:38 Trump's ability to hold up the deal remains to be seen.
01:03:39 --> 01:03:44 President Joe Biden signed a bill in January that transferred the land from
01:03:44 --> 01:03:47 the federal government to the District of Columbia.
01:03:48 --> 01:03:55 Okay. So that's probably why he feels he can do something because it's on. Yeah. Okay.
01:03:57 --> 01:04:02 It says Josh Harris, who owns the Washington Commanders.
01:04:02 --> 01:04:07 And get this, Josh Harris also is the owner of the Philadelphia 76ers,
01:04:07 --> 01:04:10 by the way. Oh, that's crazy. Yeah, yeah.
01:04:11 --> 01:04:16 And he also owns the New Jersey Devils. I mean, this guy, you know,
01:04:16 --> 01:04:18 he's something else, man. I'm telling you.
01:04:19 --> 01:04:24 Josh Harris, whose group brought the commanders from former owner Dan Snyder
01:04:24 --> 01:04:29 in 2023, said earlier this year, the name was here to stay.
01:04:30 --> 01:04:34 Not long after taking over, Harris quieted the speculation about going back
01:04:34 --> 01:04:37 to the risk and saying that would not happen.
01:04:38 --> 01:04:44 The Cleveland Guardians president of baseball operations, Chris Antonelli,
01:04:44 --> 01:04:49 Antoinette, indicated before Sunday's game against the Athletics that there
01:04:49 --> 01:04:53 was no way that they were going to go back to the old name as well.
01:04:54 --> 01:04:58 So, you know, so, of course, you know, that's always a fight when you say no
01:04:58 --> 01:05:00 to Trump. You know that, right? Yeah.
01:05:01 --> 01:05:06 He said, we understand there are different perspectives on the decisions we
01:05:06 --> 01:05:09 made a few years ago, but obviously it's a decision we made.
01:05:09 --> 01:05:14 We've got the opportunity to build a brand as the Guardians over the last four
01:05:14 --> 01:05:17 years and excited about the future in front of us.
01:05:18 --> 01:05:23 You know, Trump posted Sunday afternoon that the owner of the Cleveland baseball
01:05:23 --> 01:05:29 team, Matt Dolan, who is very political, has lost three elections in a row.
01:05:29 --> 01:05:35 Okay, this statement really took me out. Okay, it has lost three elections in
01:05:35 --> 01:05:38 a row because of that ridiculous name change.
01:05:39 --> 01:05:44 What he doesn't understand is that if he changed the name back to the Cleveland
01:05:44 --> 01:05:47 Indians, he might actually win an election.
01:05:48 --> 01:05:55 Indians are being treated very unfairly. Make Indians great again. Crazy.
01:05:57 --> 01:06:08 You can't write this stuff, man. I mean, I don't get how we're allowing all of this to happen.
01:06:09 --> 01:06:14 I really don't. I mean, we know that...
01:06:16 --> 01:06:21 I'm not even going to just say Obama, but Clinton, Carter, Obama.
01:06:22 --> 01:06:27 None of these guys would have been able to do half the stuff that this guy has done already.
01:06:28 --> 01:06:33 Why is he, what is it that he has on everybody that he's allowed to do this?
01:06:34 --> 01:06:39 And it sounds like he's being so righteous in doing it.
01:06:40 --> 01:06:43 What do you think? What do you think about that?
01:06:45 --> 01:06:52 So my the the bigger picture is i think he's deflecting because you know everyone's on them
01:06:52 --> 01:06:55 epstein files and i feel like he's
01:06:55 --> 01:06:58 just that oh so you think that's what he's doing yeah i
01:06:58 --> 01:07:00 think he did did you see the he put up a
01:07:00 --> 01:07:04 meme of obama an ai video of obama
01:07:04 --> 01:07:07 getting arrested in the overall office did you see that one
01:07:07 --> 01:07:09 i didn't see that one no no so so i mean
01:07:09 --> 01:07:14 he's doing just a lot of weird stuff that i feel like he's just trying to take
01:07:14 --> 01:07:19 eyes off of the whole epstein stuff because there are a lot of republicans and
01:07:19 --> 01:07:25 democrats who are who are starting to demand answers so i feel like he's just
01:07:25 --> 01:07:28 doing stuff to kind of throw shade everywhere he can.
01:07:30 --> 01:07:37 Okay well he's he's definitely he's definitely doing some stuff so So, but I don't know.
01:07:37 --> 01:07:41 I don't think the name should be changed back. I mean, it's funny because,
01:07:42 --> 01:07:47 you know, those are names, you know, the Redskins and the Indians were something that I grew up with.
01:07:47 --> 01:07:49 You know, I've always heard those names in the past. But when,
01:07:49 --> 01:07:53 you know, we started getting into, especially during the pandemic,
01:07:53 --> 01:07:57 I mean, every, all the racial stuff was going on back then.
01:07:57 --> 01:08:02 And, you know, the divide that we seem to had during that time with all that
01:08:02 --> 01:08:04 went on, you know, during that time.
01:08:05 --> 01:08:09 You know, and it started to become evident that, you know, some of this stuff
01:08:09 --> 01:08:14 needed to be done. And that's when he started replacing some of these prejudiced
01:08:14 --> 01:08:17 statues and whitewashing some things.
01:08:17 --> 01:08:21 And, you know, and I thought that was all moving in the right direction.
01:08:22 --> 01:08:28 But he slowly is trying to reverse everything. Yeah, he's trying to bring everything back.
01:08:28 --> 01:08:33 And bring everything back. The statues and the people, you know,
01:08:33 --> 01:08:37 I mean, you know, You and I talked recently about how he wants to bring Columbus
01:08:37 --> 01:08:43 Day back and all of this stuff and get rid of Indigenous People's Day and all of that stuff.
01:08:43 --> 01:08:46 I mean, you know, and wants to stop Juneteenth as well.
01:08:46 --> 01:08:49 You know, that was another holiday that he wanted to stop.
01:08:50 --> 01:08:53 So, so I don't know. I just don't feel that.
01:08:55 --> 01:09:03 This is a good look, but then I felt half the stuff that he's done has been a good look.
01:09:04 --> 01:09:08 It is what it is. I just wanted to bring that to everybody's attention.
01:09:09 --> 01:09:12 Hopefully, they don't let him get away with that.
01:09:15 --> 01:09:18 Make the Indians great again. We're going to mess.
01:09:20 --> 01:09:24 Anyway, I'll leave that there because all it does is make your blood boil.
01:09:26 --> 01:09:32 So we're going to get into our very last part of the show, which is Leonard's
01:09:32 --> 01:09:33 favorite part of the show.
01:09:33 --> 01:09:37 Matter of fact, Leonard, you know, he loves this part of the show so much.
01:09:37 --> 01:09:41 I'm actually going to have him read the question and ask the question,
01:09:41 --> 01:09:46 you know, and then, you know, so because, you know, he begged me to let him
01:09:46 --> 01:09:48 do it. So I'm going to let him go ahead and do it.
01:09:49 --> 01:09:54 So you're saying you want me to read this essay of a question? Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah.
01:09:54 --> 01:10:02 I want you to read the question and get the scenario of Dave's Corner today. Go ahead.
01:10:03 --> 01:10:07 All right, Dave's Corner. Someone in your class cheated on a test.
01:10:07 --> 01:10:09 I didn't like the way you said that, by the way, but go ahead.
01:10:11 --> 01:10:16 Dave's Corner. Somebody in your class cheated on a test.
01:10:17 --> 01:10:22 You know for a fact they did it. The teacher knows this person cheated because
01:10:22 --> 01:10:27 they have seen some of the answers before on others' paper.
01:10:28 --> 01:10:33 You know it's between three people. You decide to turn in two of the three people
01:10:33 --> 01:10:38 as possible suspects to protect your grade on the test.
01:10:38 --> 01:10:42 Which one of these three do you not turn in?
01:10:44 --> 01:10:49 Best friend. And Dave, I will say I did not read this in advance,
01:10:49 --> 01:10:50 so I'm reading for the first time now.
01:10:51 --> 01:10:56 I was hoping you didn't. I was hoping you didn't. And all I can say is you're sick and twisted.
01:10:59 --> 01:11:03 All right. Which one of these people would you not turn in? But you have to
01:11:03 --> 01:11:05 turn in one of them. Yeah.
01:11:05 --> 01:11:11 Your best friend, your significant other, or your first cousin.
01:11:12 --> 01:11:15 All of them in this class by the way and i'm
01:11:15 --> 01:11:18 assuming that they will know that
01:11:18 --> 01:11:21 you turned them in right it's not an anonymous thing
01:11:21 --> 01:11:24 well i don't think that they
01:11:24 --> 01:11:29 don't necessarily is it anonymous it's anonymous you know you're letting you
01:11:29 --> 01:11:33 know you're protecting your grade because you know because the teacher has the
01:11:33 --> 01:11:37 opportunity you know to say well i'm feeling everybody you know how this goes
01:11:37 --> 01:11:41 when yeah in college you know you know especially when it comes a grading on
01:11:41 --> 01:11:42 the curve, you know, that kind of stuff.
01:11:44 --> 01:11:47 So you want to make sure that, because you got a good score.
01:11:49 --> 01:11:55 So you try not to get screwed because you passed the test on your own merit.
01:11:56 --> 01:12:00 So which one of these people do you not turn in?
01:12:01 --> 01:12:05 Oh, I'm sorry. I have to turn in two of them or one of them?
01:12:05 --> 01:12:10 Yeah, well, you're going to turn in two. you decide to turn in two of the three
01:12:10 --> 01:12:15 people as possible suspects to protect your own grave okay,
01:12:17 --> 01:12:21 which one of these people do you not turn in I'm not turning in the best friend
01:12:21 --> 01:12:25 you know homeboys for life wow.
01:12:28 --> 01:12:36 Okay okay he's not turning in the best friend okay alright that must be a hell
01:12:36 --> 01:12:39 of a best friend there man Well, I mean, Dave, I mean, think about,
01:12:39 --> 01:12:44 you know, if my first cousin was my best friend, then, you know, I give it some grace.
01:12:45 --> 01:12:51 But, you know, if it's my best friend and if nobody is knowing who I turn in,
01:12:51 --> 01:12:59 it's not public college, you know, I mean, significant other in high school or college.
01:12:59 --> 01:13:03 They would be your ex-significant other at this point. And they find out you
01:13:03 --> 01:13:06 were the one to turn them in. Probably, maybe.
01:13:07 --> 01:13:11 But but it is anonymous but they don't know they don't know who turned in you
01:13:11 --> 01:13:19 know so but they do probably know you know they did it so you know so but.
01:13:21 --> 01:13:24 Interesting okay so you you know so you
01:13:24 --> 01:13:27 wouldn't turn me in okay i understand okay i get it well
01:13:27 --> 01:13:32 no no dave i'll probably turn you in but i'm just depending
01:13:32 --> 01:13:35 on what it was okay all right
01:13:35 --> 01:13:37 well you know you hear that you hear that folks so
01:13:37 --> 01:13:41 that tells you i'm not his best friend okay just keep that in mind if y'all
01:13:41 --> 01:13:45 ever thought i was land his best friend you could tell i'm not okay so i'm going
01:13:45 --> 01:13:54 down with the ship so all right i would probably in the same scenario i don't
01:13:54 --> 01:13:56 know i got a lot of first cousins so.
01:14:00 --> 01:14:06 Turn them all in yeah no no no i can't say that out loud so my cousins listen
01:14:06 --> 01:14:12 to the show i can't say that um you know so you know that's that's you know
01:14:12 --> 01:14:14 i didn't realize i thought of a question that was until just now.
01:14:15 --> 01:14:17 I know. Well, Dave, that's why I said you're sick and twisted.
01:14:19 --> 01:14:24 You know, Dave, those are like those questions like, okay, who's got to die?
01:14:25 --> 01:14:28 Yeah, I know. Who are you going to save? One of those type of questions,
01:14:28 --> 01:14:31 right? I might have to turn in.
01:14:32 --> 01:14:35 I'm a family guy, so I guess I would have to turn in the best friend.
01:14:37 --> 01:14:38 So he's not your best friend then?
01:14:40 --> 01:14:46 Well, he won't be after I turn him in. I mean, he won't know.
01:14:47 --> 01:14:50 Yeah, yeah, that's true. He won't know. But I'm just saying,
01:14:50 --> 01:14:53 yeah, I would probably have to squeal on the best friend because,
01:14:53 --> 01:14:57 you know, my family, we're very close.
01:14:58 --> 01:15:02 And, you know, and, of course, the significant other I got to go home to.
01:15:02 --> 01:15:04 So, yeah. Well, maybe.
01:15:04 --> 01:15:07 I mean, you're in class, so you're either high school or college.
01:15:08 --> 01:15:12 Oh, yeah, that's true. yeah I might be in a dorm and they might be in another
01:15:12 --> 01:15:13 dorm or something right yeah,
01:15:14 --> 01:15:19 or well I don't know but if it's night school or something like that you never
01:15:19 --> 01:15:25 know so yeah one day you just pop up and you're like oh what happened are you what what yeah,
01:15:26 --> 01:15:30 oh man that's messed up yeah let me hold you.
01:15:33 --> 01:15:39 Yeah that's right there there okay I don't know that was a pretty good question.
01:15:40 --> 01:15:43 I'm interested to see what our folks out there who are listening would do.

01:16:28 --> 01:16:30 different things since we hadn't talked to you guys in a couple weeks.

01:16:41 --> 01:16:46 No, I have not. Okay, did your kids or anybody go? I hear it's pretty good.
01:16:47 --> 01:16:51 Yeah, I have heard it's pretty good. I have not gone, and I don't know anyone
01:16:51 --> 01:16:54 personally who's gone as of yet. Okay.
01:16:55 --> 01:16:58 I'm glad you said it. I'm going to have to go check it out this weekend,
01:16:58 --> 01:17:01 maybe. Yeah, it seems like it might.
01:17:02 --> 01:17:04 It's actually doing very well.
01:17:06 --> 01:17:09 Is it this weekend or next weekend? Fantastic Four comes out.
01:17:10 --> 01:17:12 Of course, that's the movie that everybody's waiting to see.
01:17:13 --> 01:17:14 See if they finally get it right.
01:17:16 --> 01:17:23 I do not have faith. You don't think so, huh? No, you know, and I just say the way the thing looks.
01:17:24 --> 01:17:27 Yeah, he looks fake, right? Yeah, he looks cartoonish.
01:17:28 --> 01:17:34 He does. He looks like AI, definitely. In the first couple of Fantastic Four
01:17:34 --> 01:17:40 movies, I thought he looked believable as the thing, the guy. Yeah, so.
01:17:40 --> 01:17:44 But, you know, I mean, maybe it might come out all right and whatever.
01:17:45 --> 01:17:48 I wonder why they did the Silver Surfer as a woman this time around, though.
01:17:49 --> 01:17:54 Oh, I didn't notice that. Yeah, the silver surfer is a woman in this movie.
01:17:55 --> 01:17:59 So I wonder what that's all about, but we'll see. We'll see.
01:17:59 --> 01:18:04 I am interested in going to see the Fantastic Four, though. So let's see what happens.
