00:00:32 --> 00:00:35 Welcome, welcome, welcome to News and Trends with Dave and Lynn.
00:00:35 --> 00:00:38 This is one of your hosts, Mr.
00:00:38 --> 00:00:42 David Coker, proprietor of Dave Mark, Inc., promoter, event planner,
00:00:43 --> 00:00:45 and all-around good guy.

00:01:10 --> 00:01:14 I'm hanging out with my partner, Mr. Leonard Young. What's going on, sir?
00:01:14 --> 00:01:19 Hey, Dave. Everything is good. This is Leonard Young, CEO of National Black
00:01:19 --> 00:01:25 Guide, DelawareBlack.com, Black media specialist, all-around good guy. How's it going, Dave?
00:01:25 --> 00:01:29 Hey, man. Can't call it. Can't call it at all. just hanging out,
00:01:30 --> 00:01:36 you know, just, you know, just trying to say, I guess fall is finally caught up with his letter.
00:01:37 --> 00:01:41 Oh, yeah, definitely. I mean, it's so funny. I was at my son's football game
00:01:41 --> 00:01:44 yesterday and it started at 530. So I thought I was safe.
00:01:44 --> 00:01:48 And probably about 30 minutes into it, the sun started going down,
00:01:48 --> 00:01:49 the wind chills started picking up.
00:01:50 --> 00:01:55 So winter is definitely coming quick because this temperature has definitely changed.
00:01:56 --> 00:01:59 Yeah, well, as the weekend, you know, towards the weekend, it's supposed to
00:01:59 --> 00:02:01 get warm again. Oh, is it? Okay.
00:02:02 --> 00:02:05 Yeah, it's supposed to get warm again. They're trying to get us all sick then, I guess.
00:02:06 --> 00:02:09 Yeah, that's what it is. It's cold and flu season, and that's what's about to
00:02:09 --> 00:02:11 happen. Right. So definitely.
00:02:12 --> 00:02:16 And, folks, let me say this without, you know, before I forget.
00:02:17 --> 00:02:21 We have to say happy birthday to, you know, to the birthday boys.
00:02:21 --> 00:02:24 You know, just celebrated another birthday over the weekend.
00:02:24 --> 00:02:29 So everybody, if you get a chance, say happy birthday to Mr.
00:02:29 --> 00:02:33 Leonard Young, who just came back from a birthday trip.
00:02:33 --> 00:02:37 Where did you go? uh to jordan michael jordan's
00:02:37 --> 00:02:41 house you know he went to michael jordan i wish not jordan
00:02:41 --> 00:02:44 he went to the other house he went to the big michael the big michael's
00:02:44 --> 00:02:47 house so that's where he was at michael jordan's house yeah so
00:02:47 --> 00:02:50 what did you do there at michael jordan's house yeah so i mean everything was
00:02:50 --> 00:02:57 good my wife and i we went to the country jordan which is i know which is which
00:02:57 --> 00:03:02 is in the middle east and to be honest i was not too familiar with jordan and
00:03:02 --> 00:03:07 my wife told me because was a surprise trip i had a lot of questions like is
00:03:07 --> 00:03:09 it safe you know do they speak english,
00:03:09 --> 00:03:14 you know are you well i won't say that on air but long story short the country
00:03:14 --> 00:03:18 was beautiful the people were very hospitable very kind.
00:03:20 --> 00:03:27 We saw some of the ancient monuments, one of the seven wonders of the modern world, which is Petra.
00:03:27 --> 00:03:32 And if you ever see the picture of the stone, almost like, I don't even know
00:03:32 --> 00:03:37 how to call it, but a monastery built into the side of a mountain.
00:03:37 --> 00:03:39 It was featured on an Indiana Jones movie.
00:03:40 --> 00:03:44 But Longstreet are beautiful. We went to the Dead Sea, beautiful.
00:03:45 --> 00:03:48 And we went to the capital of Jordan, which is called Amman.
00:03:48 --> 00:03:51 And i mean to be honest dave you would
00:03:51 --> 00:03:54 not know you're not in america i mean majority of the
00:03:54 --> 00:03:57 people speak english more a majority of
00:03:57 --> 00:03:59 the shops were businesses that you're used
00:03:59 --> 00:04:04 to hearing about or you know the name so long story short it was great it definitely
00:04:04 --> 00:04:09 gave me a lot of respect for the people of the middle east very kind you know
00:04:09 --> 00:04:17 so great trip wow okay well congratulations sir I'm making it another trip around the sun.
00:04:18 --> 00:04:21 Appreciate it. Around the earth or wherever, whatever way you went.
00:04:22 --> 00:04:29 And, you know, so, but, you know, and this is number 48 for you, right?
00:04:30 --> 00:04:33 Dave, say you, you had time. I know, I know, I know.
00:04:33 --> 00:04:38 Look, I didn't lie because I didn't say it was number 52 or 53 or anything.
00:04:38 --> 00:04:40 Okay. All right. So, you know.
00:04:40 --> 00:04:43 48 trips around. That's the solar system.
00:04:44 --> 00:04:47 Around the round thing. Okay. All right. So, all right. Well,
00:04:47 --> 00:04:50 congratulations, sir. Happy, like I said, happy birthday.
00:04:51 --> 00:04:55 All right. So, folks, we have a treat for you tonight.
00:04:55 --> 00:04:57 So, we're actually going to
00:04:57 --> 00:05:01 jump right into this because we can't wait to talk to our guests tonight.
00:05:02 --> 00:05:05 So, Leonard, why don't you tell everybody who we have on? Sure.
00:05:05 --> 00:05:10 So definitely very excited today. We have two guests on Father Daughter.
00:05:11 --> 00:05:17 So anybody who is a faithful listener, I'm sure you know our first guest, Dave Woolley.
00:05:17 --> 00:05:21 And then we also have his daughter, Vita Woolley Esquire.
00:05:21 --> 00:05:24 And I'm just going to read a quick bio and then Dave, we're going to go ahead
00:05:24 --> 00:05:27 and bring them on. In fact, from now on, I'm going to say Dave C.,
00:05:27 --> 00:05:30 just so we know what we're talking about.
00:05:31 --> 00:05:34 But Dave Woolley is a nationally known veteran entrepreneur,
00:05:35 --> 00:05:38 producer, and director based in Wilmington, Delaware.
00:05:39 --> 00:05:43 He has produced and directed many world-class entertainment events,
00:05:43 --> 00:05:47 including television, sporting events, tours, and concerts.
00:05:48 --> 00:05:53 He has also been an adjunct business professor at Wilmington University since 1996.
00:05:54 --> 00:06:00 He's an NCAA, I'm sorry, NAACP Image Award nominated writer,
00:06:01 --> 00:06:08 as well as co-author of Miss Dionne Warwick's bestselling autobiography, My Life As I See.
00:06:08 --> 00:06:15 In 2020, Dave was named Talent Content Advisor for the Joe Biden Presidential
00:06:15 --> 00:06:17 Inauguration Committee.
00:06:17 --> 00:06:23 And in 2021, Dave has prominently been featured in the Mike Tyson documentary
00:06:23 --> 00:06:26 called The Knockout on the ABC network.
00:06:27 --> 00:06:32 He recently produced, wrote, and co-directed the award-winning,
00:06:32 --> 00:06:36 critically acclaimed Dionne Warwick, Don't Make Me Over documentary.
00:06:36 --> 00:06:41 The film featured Elton John, Snoop Dogg, Bill Clinton, Stevie Wonder,
00:06:41 --> 00:06:44 Carlos Santana, and many, many more.
00:06:44 --> 00:06:48 And then, of course, we have his daughter on as well, Vida Woolley Esquire.
00:06:48 --> 00:06:53 She's a licensed attorney with diverse experience in contract,
00:06:54 --> 00:06:57 statutory, and regulatory drafting.
00:06:57 --> 00:07:01 Her previous experiences have enabled her to practice labor,
00:07:01 --> 00:07:07 employment transactions, contract, entertainment, and general IP law.
00:07:07 --> 00:07:12 Her entertainment experience is primarily based on her role as president of
00:07:12 --> 00:07:17 Wooly Entertainment, a production company that produced a critically acclaimed
00:07:17 --> 00:07:21 film that we spoke about earlier, Dionne Warwick, Don't Make Me Over.
00:07:21 --> 00:07:27 And additionally, she possesses a MBA with a concentration in finance.
00:07:28 --> 00:07:33 So without further ado, we would like to bring Dave and Vita on. Welcome to the show.
00:07:34 --> 00:07:38 Thank you. Thank you for having us. Hey, hey, it's my pleasure,
00:07:38 --> 00:07:41 my buddies. How are you guys doing? We're good.
00:07:43 --> 00:07:51 Great introduction. Hey, listen, for the record, this is Vita and I's first interview together.
00:07:51 --> 00:07:58 Oh, wow. OK. Well, we definitely are thankful that you allowed our platform
00:07:58 --> 00:08:03 to be the ones to, you know, kind of, you know, have that experience for y'all.
00:08:03 --> 00:08:06 So how's it feel veda well we'll see.
00:08:11 --> 00:08:12 My palms are a little funny,
00:08:15 --> 00:08:21 so of course we gave some short introductions if you could and and veda i just want to let you know,
00:08:22 --> 00:08:25 and anyone who knows dave woolley knows how
00:08:25 --> 00:08:28 proud he is of his children uh anyone
00:08:28 --> 00:08:32 knows that anyone everyone so dave even though
00:08:32 --> 00:08:35 we gave her you know a bio that you know we read
00:08:35 --> 00:08:41 off paper can you kind of give a short introduction of your daughter vita well
00:08:41 --> 00:08:45 you know first of all it's like a three-legged stool you know it's vita and
00:08:45 --> 00:08:51 then it's her sister as well divina surely uh and you know it's a single well
00:08:51 --> 00:08:52 hold on i gotta stop you for a minute,
00:08:53 --> 00:08:57 Did you say your daughter's name is Davina? Davina, Wooley, yep.
00:08:57 --> 00:09:00 How's that spelled? Excuse me?
00:09:00 --> 00:09:04 How's her name spelled? D-A-V-I-N-A.
00:09:05 --> 00:09:11 And guess what? What? My daughter's name is spelled D-A-V-I-N-A. Uh-oh.
00:09:13 --> 00:09:19 Both Daves have a Davina. That is... This is creepy. I've never seen that.
00:09:20 --> 00:09:26 Scary. That is? Two days had doors with the same name. That's great.
00:09:26 --> 00:09:30 See, that's how we go back so far. We got light bulbs. Yeah, I know. I know. I know.
00:09:30 --> 00:09:33 It was that time that we were raised, I guess. Okay, go ahead.
00:09:33 --> 00:09:37 I'm sorry. I didn't mean to interrupt you, but that was fascinating to me. But go ahead. Okay.
00:09:38 --> 00:09:40 You know, but you guys did a great introduction.
00:09:40 --> 00:09:44 You know what I mean? Obviously, both of my heart beats, you know,
00:09:44 --> 00:09:48 and really, they are my purpose, you know, for living.
00:09:48 --> 00:09:52 And, you know, I'm extremely proud of them. both of them so you know she can
00:09:52 --> 00:09:55 do but she can she can she can tell you who she is,
00:09:56 --> 00:10:00 and we're so excited to you know be talking about this event too that we are
00:10:00 --> 00:10:04 working on and a couple other projects that we are working on as well so i'm
00:10:04 --> 00:10:05 looking forward to this interview,
00:10:06 --> 00:10:14 okay great okay all right so so dave let's jump right to it so on october 17th thursday.
00:10:15 --> 00:10:21 You and your daughter are producing the fundraiser for lisa blunt rochester
00:10:21 --> 00:10:27 that will be featuring music legend and artist dion warrett can can you kind
00:10:27 --> 00:10:29 of tell us how this event came about,
00:10:29 --> 00:10:37 yeah well you know first of all we love lisa and you know this is a very very
00:10:37 --> 00:10:41 historical and very very important election this fundraiser will also benefit
00:10:41 --> 00:10:48 the harris campaign as well so that's one I want people to make sure that they sign up for the Zoom.
00:10:48 --> 00:10:51 It's only a $25 contribution.
00:10:51 --> 00:10:56 The Zoom is this Thursday. So please, please, guys, we need your support.
00:10:57 --> 00:10:58 Lisa will become the fourth,
00:10:59 --> 00:11:03 black woman in history to be a U.S. Senate.
00:11:03 --> 00:11:08 I mean, so this is a very, very historical kind of a thing. So we need folks
00:11:08 --> 00:11:10 to go ahead and RSVP immediately.
00:11:11 --> 00:11:13 We want success. And Vita, you want to take it from there?
00:11:14 --> 00:11:19 Sure. So just to add, we worked closely with her team.
00:11:20 --> 00:11:26 Actually, we did something similar for her first run when she was rerunning for the House.
00:11:26 --> 00:11:31 So we were honored to be able to circle back for this next run for the Senate.
00:11:31 --> 00:11:38 And we see her as our Senator already. So we're, we're extremely excited to, to, to be a part of this.
00:11:39 --> 00:11:44 And, and is this your first time working together in this capacity?
00:11:45 --> 00:11:54 No. So actually I was an intern for Congresswoman Blunt Rochester during law school.
00:11:54 --> 00:11:59 Yes. And that was an incredible experience. I was able to work out of the Wilmington office.
00:11:59 --> 00:12:03 I was attending Drexel Klein School of Law at the time.
00:12:03 --> 00:12:08 And it was a crazy time to be an intern for a congresswoman.
00:12:08 --> 00:12:11 It was during the impeachment era, actually.
00:12:11 --> 00:12:17 And she gave me like probably one of the toughest jobs, right, was to man the phone.
00:12:17 --> 00:12:20 So I had to answer the phones and I was called all types of things.
00:12:21 --> 00:12:24 And I had to document them or, you know, record and index, you know,
00:12:25 --> 00:12:26 different constituent concerns and things like that.
00:12:26 --> 00:12:30 But we got, it was, it was a really interesting time and it was,
00:12:31 --> 00:12:36 I loved being her intern. I was able to go to DC and attend hearings and she was phenomenal.
00:12:36 --> 00:12:41 She also took me out one-on-one and she's been a great mentor for me ever since.
00:12:42 --> 00:12:46 Yeah. Well, and, and anybody who's not from the Delaware area,
00:12:47 --> 00:12:51 As far as back as I can remember, I'm sure Dave Coker has some memories, too.
00:12:51 --> 00:12:56 But Lisa Blunt Rochester has always been involved in the community.
00:12:56 --> 00:13:01 Anytime you see her, she has a smiling face. You know, she's very welcoming.
00:13:02 --> 00:13:07 And kind of like Dave Woolley, like you said, I'm excited to see her become the next U.S.
00:13:07 --> 00:13:11 Senator and fourth black U.S. Senator ever.
00:13:11 --> 00:13:16 You know, I think it's definitely exciting. So, you know, we or she definitely
00:13:16 --> 00:13:18 needs all of our support.
00:13:18 --> 00:13:21 You know, hopefully everybody can log into the Zoom.
00:13:21 --> 00:13:27 And for the people who do log into the Zoom, what can you kind of tell us what they can expect?
00:13:27 --> 00:13:29 And I only say it because I know
00:13:29 --> 00:13:34 some people have not done like an online concert or online fundraiser.
00:13:34 --> 00:13:38 So for people who are just wondering what to expect, can you kind of give them more information?
00:13:39 --> 00:13:44 Sure, I can I can answer that one. So basically the idea of a virtual event
00:13:44 --> 00:13:46 like this is mostly convenience, right?
00:13:47 --> 00:13:51 So everyone can join at their leisure if you have a break.
00:13:51 --> 00:13:55 And also it's timed for the evening to accommodate most people's schedules.
00:13:55 --> 00:13:58 And so what people can expect is it's going to be a group Zoom.
00:13:58 --> 00:13:59 You're going to be able to log in.
00:14:00 --> 00:14:05 And Lisa's going to make a few remarks. You're also going to hear some commentary
00:14:05 --> 00:14:10 from some different grassroots organizations that her campaign works closely
00:14:10 --> 00:14:12 with and, you know, involved in Delaware, obviously.
00:14:13 --> 00:14:21 So you'll hear some messages from them. And then we'll open it up to our guest,
00:14:21 --> 00:14:25 which is the legendary Dionne Warwick. And they're going to have a conversation.
00:14:26 --> 00:14:30 Lisa and Dionne are going to have a conversation about politics,
00:14:31 --> 00:14:35 about activism, about her work during her career.
00:14:36 --> 00:14:42 So a lot of people know her as a music legend, but she is a true political activist.
00:14:42 --> 00:14:46 I mean, going back to the Reagan era. So it's going to be a really interesting conversation.
00:14:47 --> 00:14:51 We're going to talk about, you know, the historical significance of this run
00:14:51 --> 00:14:54 and, you know, why she's also supporting Lisa and, you know,
00:14:54 --> 00:14:56 the things that we want to see moving forward.
00:14:56 --> 00:15:01 So it's going to be a powerful conversation. I'm going to actually be the emcee.
00:15:01 --> 00:15:06 And the theme is kind of just, you know, multi-generational women and Black
00:15:06 --> 00:15:08 women and, you know, being historical.
00:15:09 --> 00:15:11 And, you know, I was a legislative attorney.
00:15:12 --> 00:15:16 So, so that's the, that's the idea. That's the concept.
00:15:16 --> 00:15:20 We hope everyone enjoys it, but most importantly, it's really just to,
00:15:20 --> 00:15:25 to support, to support, to support, not only just Lisa Byron Rochester,
00:15:25 --> 00:15:28 but also, you know, President Harris, because we, we got a lot of work to do, right.
00:15:28 --> 00:15:31 To make sure we got the right person in.
00:15:31 --> 00:15:35 So that's, that, that's what people can expect. So they should be very excited.
00:15:35 --> 00:15:38 Okay awesome so now i
00:15:38 --> 00:15:42 know you mentioned there were there were maybe some other grassroots
00:15:42 --> 00:15:45 organizations that they be mentioned or maybe
00:15:45 --> 00:15:51 speaking are you able to allude to any of those i i can't that was completely
00:15:51 --> 00:15:57 organized on there okay yep got it okay and then you know i guess how how excited
00:15:57 --> 00:16:04 are you and your dad to be producing an event of this magnitude at at this critical time,
00:16:04 --> 00:16:06 you know, in our election process.
00:16:06 --> 00:16:10 I know you mentioned it, you know, we have less than 30 days.
00:16:10 --> 00:16:15 So, you know, this right here is really a huge event that I think a lot of people
00:16:15 --> 00:16:20 will be tuned into because just, you know, it's historical value approaching. Yeah.
00:16:21 --> 00:16:25 Well, I'll answer my part first. There's nothing more important right now. Right.
00:16:25 --> 00:16:30 So actually, before we started the show, I was telling you guys that I'm literally
00:16:30 --> 00:16:33 in the middle of moving from Las Vegas back to Delaware.
00:16:34 --> 00:16:39 Yes. My plane ticket is for the 19th, so I'll be back in the 302 Saturday.
00:16:39 --> 00:16:44 But, you know, I'm stopping everything, and I think I'm going to get a TV try
00:16:44 --> 00:16:48 to make sure I can emcee this event on Thursday. I mean, nothing is more important.
00:16:48 --> 00:16:53 Another part is, you know, we just lost Sissy Houston, you know,
00:16:53 --> 00:16:57 an icon, and a family member.
00:16:58 --> 00:17:03 And Dionne's still making herself available. So that kind of just lets you know
00:17:03 --> 00:17:07 how serious this is for us and how excited we are.
00:17:07 --> 00:17:12 Because like I said, everybody kind of, it was, we're going to make it happen no matter what.
00:17:13 --> 00:17:16 And my dad was huge and pivotal to making that happen.
00:17:17 --> 00:17:18 So dad, do you have anything else to add?
00:17:19 --> 00:17:24 Well, you know, except that I want everybody to know that this is historical.
00:17:24 --> 00:17:29 You know, this is really historical. When you think of Dionne Wark and Elisa
00:17:29 --> 00:17:32 Blunt Rochester, these women are transformational leaders.
00:17:32 --> 00:17:36 And what I mean by that, a real leader doesn't create followers.
00:17:36 --> 00:17:41 Real leaders create other real leaders. And that's what both of these women have done.
00:17:41 --> 00:17:47 So for me as a father, to sit back and watch these three generations,
00:17:47 --> 00:17:54 Dionne Wark at 83, and Lisa, we won't say her age, but my daughter is 27.
00:17:54 --> 00:18:00 And as a proud dad, I have to add that she became an attorney at the age of
00:18:00 --> 00:18:03 23, with the youngest to pass the bar.
00:18:05 --> 00:18:10 Congratulations. Yeah. You know, to have worked with her,
00:18:11 --> 00:18:15 not only with this project, but Vita is also the associate producer for the
00:18:15 --> 00:18:19 Dionne Moore Don't Make Me Over documentary film, which her sister,
00:18:19 --> 00:18:22 Damini Wally, is also an associate producer.
00:18:22 --> 00:18:25 So that was essentially kind of a father-daughter
00:18:25 --> 00:18:28 production that went on to you know win many
00:18:28 --> 00:18:33 many awards and you know be rated number one on the nilson ratings and premiere
00:18:33 --> 00:18:39 on cnn on new year's day and now it's on hbo max and then veda has a very close
00:18:39 --> 00:18:44 relationship with dion you want to tell her your relationship with dion v sure
00:18:44 --> 00:18:45 yeah that's my godmother,
00:18:49 --> 00:18:52 so this is a truly a family of yeah no right.
00:18:55 --> 00:19:02 Yeah i'm sorry i just gotta ask a quick question have prior to this have lisa
00:19:02 --> 00:19:07 and dion have they met prior or is this one of their i'm sure that i'm sure
00:19:07 --> 00:19:10 they were familiar with each other especially you know being familiar with dion
00:19:10 --> 00:19:14 warwick have they had time to conversate prior to this event or,
00:19:15 --> 00:19:21 Will this be the first? Well, we did one before, as Vida had mentioned earlier,
00:19:21 --> 00:19:23 when she was running before.
00:19:23 --> 00:19:26 So this will be like a reunion for them.
00:19:27 --> 00:19:33 It'll be magic. It really will be magical. And I'm just so, so, so excited.
00:19:33 --> 00:19:38 It's really one of those things. When you have a legend of Dion Status,
00:19:38 --> 00:19:43 who's a global icon, that stops to recognize Delaware, you know,
00:19:44 --> 00:19:46 and this major, major campaign,
00:19:46 --> 00:19:52 you know, I mean, we need to come out, we need to support, you know, really, really do.
00:19:52 --> 00:19:55 And, you know, like I said, as a father daughter team, I mean,
00:19:55 --> 00:19:59 I, you know, my, my heart is pounding. I am so, so proud.
00:20:00 --> 00:20:04 You know, I've raised the girls to, to, to, you know, believe in three things,
00:20:04 --> 00:20:07 you know, in terms of, of, of my three P's.
00:20:07 --> 00:20:10 You remember, Vita? Yeah, girl.
00:20:12 --> 00:20:17 Here we go. The three P's are passion, purpose, and perfection.
00:20:18 --> 00:20:22 And I taught them to find something in life that you're passionate about and
00:20:22 --> 00:20:24 then work very hard because then that becomes your purpose.
00:20:24 --> 00:20:28 And then throughout your life, continue to perfect it. And that's perfection.
00:20:29 --> 00:20:33 And, you know, when you hear about Vita's accomplishments, and I can't,
00:20:33 --> 00:20:36 you You know, not mention my other daughter, Davina, we call her D.
00:20:37 --> 00:20:44 You know, she's one who has her, she's 26, and she has her bachelor's degree
00:20:44 --> 00:20:47 from Wilmington University and MBA from Wilmington University.
00:20:47 --> 00:20:52 And she has her master's from Georgia Tech, one of the top tech schools in the
00:20:52 --> 00:20:53 world. So she's a coding queen.
00:20:54 --> 00:20:57 And, you know, she did that before the age of 25.
00:20:58 --> 00:21:02 So, you know, it's, I want this message to be also for dads.
00:21:02 --> 00:21:06 It's, you know, hey, you know, embrace your children and work with them.
00:21:06 --> 00:21:07 I mean, it's the greatest accomplishment.
00:21:09 --> 00:21:14 Greatest accomplishment. So, hey, V, you want to add to that anything, V?
00:21:15 --> 00:21:16 No, you killed it.
00:21:19 --> 00:21:25 And so I guess Dave and Vita, what are you hoping people take away from this event?
00:21:25 --> 00:21:31 Oh, I'm hoping that people take away that they were involved,
00:21:31 --> 00:21:32 right? They made a meaningful contribution.
00:21:33 --> 00:21:42 Again, it's $25, even if you can't be active and listening, you made a contribution.
00:21:42 --> 00:21:48 So I hope people feel a sense of, you know, bigger, bigger picture, a sense of obligation.
00:21:49 --> 00:21:54 And then I hope people enjoy it and look for more opportunities like this and,
00:21:54 --> 00:21:58 you know, and even the local level. Right. Because all levels count.
00:21:58 --> 00:22:03 So we're hoping just kind of to spark more interest in our community and the
00:22:03 --> 00:22:04 political races that really count.
00:22:05 --> 00:22:07 So definitely. And, you know, one thing I want to throw in, too,
00:22:07 --> 00:22:11 and I was just thinking about it now, you know, this is not just a Delaware event.
00:22:11 --> 00:22:15 You know, this is a national event because I know that people all over the nation
00:22:15 --> 00:22:18 are looking at this Senate race because,
00:22:18 --> 00:22:24 so long story short, I've seen on Twitter where a lot of people from all over
00:22:24 --> 00:22:28 are mentioning how Delaware could have, you know, the fourth U.S.
00:22:29 --> 00:22:30 Black female senator.
00:22:31 --> 00:22:34 So, you know, I think that's exciting that this is not just a Delaware thing.
00:22:34 --> 00:22:37 This is a national thing. Absolutely.
00:22:38 --> 00:22:42 Absolutely. So Vita, how do you feel being a woman, being involved with this
00:22:42 --> 00:22:44 historical event at your age?
00:22:45 --> 00:22:49 Oh, I'm honored. I feel blessed. I'm hoping that,
00:22:50 --> 00:22:54 Me being involved also, you know, inspire more people around my demographic
00:22:54 --> 00:23:00 to do the same and spread the word amongst their circles and their friends to
00:23:00 --> 00:23:03 at a minimum register, right, and to actually vote.
00:23:03 --> 00:23:09 But if you can contribute or fundraise, you know, I think that that's the next
00:23:09 --> 00:23:13 movement is my age demographic getting a lot more involved.
00:23:14 --> 00:23:17 But I also think, you know, just from the female perspective,
00:23:17 --> 00:23:22 there's a lot going on, right, in the Supreme Court in terms of reproductive
00:23:22 --> 00:23:28 rights and all types of things going on, diversification, inclusion, callbacks.
00:23:28 --> 00:23:32 And, I mean, there's a lot going on, right? So I think that I want to be able
00:23:32 --> 00:23:36 to look back. It's all my grandkids. I did something, you know?
00:23:38 --> 00:23:42 No, nothing else. So, you know, I wasn't a lame duck.
00:23:44 --> 00:23:48 And so, you know, interviews like this, it's great. It's great.
00:23:48 --> 00:23:49 And just events like this.
00:23:50 --> 00:23:55 But, you know, it's important to be about it. Right. So I feel like I'm about
00:23:55 --> 00:23:57 it right now. So I feel good.
00:23:59 --> 00:24:01 Well and i also have to say that i also have
00:24:01 --> 00:24:04 to say as a father you know this it just brings
00:24:04 --> 00:24:10 me joy and you know for her she has a meeting we know shortly so i'm i'm just
00:24:10 --> 00:24:14 honored that she jumped in and joined us with this conversation and if you guys
00:24:14 --> 00:24:18 if it's okay can i hang out with you guys a little you know through the show
00:24:18 --> 00:24:23 of course oh yeah definitely definitely we want to We definitely want you to do that.
00:24:24 --> 00:24:28 Of course, we're never going to sue you away, so you're not going to worry about it.
00:24:29 --> 00:24:33 So, Vita, I just want to say on behalf of the show,
00:24:34 --> 00:24:38 thank you for taking the time to hang out with us, and it's nice to meet you
00:24:38 --> 00:24:43 because, like I said, Leonard and I both have heard a lot about the both of
00:24:43 --> 00:24:49 you, so I'm so glad to know that you are.
00:24:50 --> 00:24:53 Blazing your trail just like your father did and
00:24:53 --> 00:24:56 and then working alongside of him at
00:24:56 --> 00:25:00 the same time and you know i'm
00:25:00 --> 00:25:02 a fan dave woolley and matter of fact
00:25:02 --> 00:25:05 part of the reason that i even became the event
00:25:05 --> 00:25:09 planner and promoter myself is watching the the
00:25:09 --> 00:25:12 the groundwork that he laid for a lot
00:25:12 --> 00:25:20 of was back then and even till today and to see that he has produced the offsprings
00:25:20 --> 00:25:25 that he has that and the directions that the two of you are going and especially
00:25:25 --> 00:25:29 with you now that you're coming back to the east coast i know a little wiggle
00:25:29 --> 00:25:32 baby well we'll probably never talk to dave again.
00:25:35 --> 00:25:43 I'm definitely the cooler one I would agree I don't know I don't know I like
00:25:43 --> 00:25:48 the other one's name I don't know she's awesome she's awesome,
00:25:49 --> 00:25:55 but anyway but we do appreciate you coming on and hanging out with us we know
00:25:55 --> 00:25:58 you got another meeting you're a go-to,
00:25:59 --> 00:26:02 you have our blessings go ahead and do
00:26:02 --> 00:26:05 what you got to do and we everybody please
00:26:05 --> 00:26:11 tune in to listen to you know and watch the moderator moderate you know so you
00:26:11 --> 00:26:19 know and and and and tune into this historical event okay yeah all right thank
00:26:19 --> 00:26:23 you you know what you know what we're doing dads because they're girl dads too,
00:26:24 --> 00:26:29 Yeah, we both got girls. It's about passing the baton. Right.
00:26:30 --> 00:26:34 Well, thank you so much for having me. And I'm looking forward to seeing everybody
00:26:34 --> 00:26:39 on Zoom Thursday, October 17th from 630 to 730 p.m.
00:26:39 --> 00:26:41 Eastern Standard Time.
00:26:42 --> 00:26:44 And you guys have a great rest of your show.
00:26:44 --> 00:26:47 All right. This was not bad for my first time.
00:26:50 --> 00:26:57 How did we do? Did we do okay? You did all right. I'm going to hang out before I mess it up. Thank you.
00:26:58 --> 00:27:05 See you later. Thank you. Okay. Bye. Okay. Love you, Dad. Bye.
00:27:09 --> 00:27:12 That's awesome. Thank you for hanging out with us.
00:27:13 --> 00:27:18 Yeah. But we're going to actually get into a few of our topics.
00:27:21 --> 00:27:27 So before we do that, for anyone who's listening now, we'll put the link on our Facebook page.
00:27:27 --> 00:27:32 And we'll also include the link in the caption of this podcast and all the networks
00:27:32 --> 00:27:38 so that, you know, anyone who can, they can just click on the link and, you know, join on Zoom.
00:27:38 --> 00:27:45 Right. Okay. That'd be awesome. So, and of course, we'll make sure Mr.
00:27:45 --> 00:27:51 Woolley gives a chance to talk a little bit more about it before the end of the show as well. Okay.
00:27:51 --> 00:27:57 All right. So let's go into our topic portion and then got a couple of stories
00:27:57 --> 00:27:59 that wanted to talk about tonight.
00:28:00 --> 00:28:07 And let me see our first story. It's going to be, I thought this was interesting.
00:28:08 --> 00:28:09 Bath and body work.
00:28:10 --> 00:28:16 Everybody's favorite place to go to buy, you know, the stuff that the women like.
00:28:17 --> 00:28:19 And, you know, some of us men, I guess, as well.
00:28:20 --> 00:28:25 So Bath and Body Works pulls candle product that resembles KKK hoods.
00:28:26 --> 00:28:27 I thought this was interesting.
00:28:28 --> 00:28:34 Leonard, did you get a chance to see that picture? So I heard about it this morning on the news.
00:28:34 --> 00:28:36 I did not get to see it until just prior to the show.
00:28:37 --> 00:28:39 And once I saw it, I just chuckled to myself.
00:28:42 --> 00:28:47 I don't know maybe i don't know if you can pull it up so dave can see it or i don't know but.
00:28:48 --> 00:28:51 Yeah but it's interesting so listen to
00:28:51 --> 00:28:55 this right quick it says bath and body work has found
00:28:55 --> 00:28:58 itself in hot water after a recent product release
00:28:58 --> 00:29:03 sparked outrage for being racially insensitive the company is now working to
00:29:03 --> 00:29:08 remove a holiday candle from its shelves following criticism that the design
00:29:08 --> 00:29:15 that is designed resembles the hoods worn by the Ku Klux Klan.
00:29:16 --> 00:29:26 The candle part of their no-end scent line featured a snowflake design set against a red background.
00:29:27 --> 00:29:33 Which went viral after social media users on X, formerly Twitter,
00:29:33 --> 00:29:41 noted its similarity to the infamous white hoods with pointed tops and small holes.
00:29:41 --> 00:29:46 The backlash was swift, with many calling for the product to be canceled and
00:29:46 --> 00:29:49 for those responsible to be fired.
00:29:49 --> 00:29:55 Bath and Body Works quickly recognized the severity of the situation and issued
00:29:55 --> 00:30:00 an apology, acknowledging the unintended offense caused by the design.
00:30:00 --> 00:30:05 A company spokesperson explained, we are committed to listening to our teams
00:30:05 --> 00:30:09 and customers are committed to finding, fixing any mistakes we make,
00:30:10 --> 00:30:13 even those that are unintentional, like this one.
00:30:13 --> 00:30:18 We apologize to anyone we've offended and are swiftly working to have the item
00:30:18 --> 00:30:24 removed and are evaluating our process going forward. So that was what they had to say.
00:30:25 --> 00:30:28 It is interesting because when you look at this
00:30:28 --> 00:30:32 it does look like exactly
00:30:32 --> 00:30:37 what they say kkk put it people and
00:30:37 --> 00:30:42 the camera is red it's on a you know and it's like four pictures of four faces
00:30:42 --> 00:30:48 that look like but supposedly it's not faces leonard and i have done stories
00:30:48 --> 00:30:52 in the past about symbolism with products.
00:30:52 --> 00:30:56 I'm going to put it that way, that we're either intentional or not intentional,
00:30:56 --> 00:31:02 you know, but even still, people tend to try to see how far they can get away with things.
00:31:03 --> 00:31:06 Was this a what do you guys think was this
00:31:06 --> 00:31:09 a mistake uh you know
00:31:09 --> 00:31:12 innocent mistake i'm gonna say or was
00:31:12 --> 00:31:16 this something that was subliminally done especially
00:31:16 --> 00:31:21 during the climate that we're in right now right uh they they will have have
00:31:21 --> 00:31:26 you seen the image you know i i just i'm looking at it now and you know it's
00:31:26 --> 00:31:31 striking it's definitely striking you know and it really is and and it's it's
00:31:31 --> 00:31:33 certainly worthy of controversy.
00:31:34 --> 00:31:37 So I'm glad you guys brought this up because these are the kinds of things that
00:31:37 --> 00:31:39 make your podcast so special.
00:31:41 --> 00:31:44 You guys find these unique stories that I hadn't even heard about this.
00:31:45 --> 00:31:48 So I got to come on your show to learn. It's like, wow.
00:31:50 --> 00:31:53 It turned my Google on. I just turned my Google on.
00:31:55 --> 00:31:59 Well, it's funny. It's funny. It is one of these unique stories, but it also,
00:32:00 --> 00:32:03 you know, when you think about bath and body work you know that's a very popular
00:32:03 --> 00:32:06 place and you know and this is
00:32:06 --> 00:32:09 not the first time they've had controversy because i didn't we do a story a
00:32:09 --> 00:32:14 couple years ago there was something else that they had there that they i can't
00:32:14 --> 00:32:17 remember what it was but it was something else that was racially instead to
00:32:17 --> 00:32:22 do it's it's not ringing a bell but i mean you know i i don't doubt it but you
00:32:22 --> 00:32:24 know it's funny day because when i heard about on the radio,
00:32:25 --> 00:32:28 and you know the way they described it on the radio and
00:32:28 --> 00:32:31 now that i'm seeing the picture i i get it for anyone
00:32:31 --> 00:32:37 who's listening and back in the day when used to see people make snowflakes
00:32:37 --> 00:32:42 and like you know they kind of fold paper into fours or eights and make cuts
00:32:42 --> 00:32:48 and then you open up and it's a big snowflake i i understand that now when they
00:32:48 --> 00:32:50 put these little holes in it that look like,
00:32:50 --> 00:32:56 eyes you know that that was the point where it looks like they just went too far so yeah yeah.
00:32:57 --> 00:33:05 When I look at it now, Dave or Dave's, if it didn't have the little circle eye
00:33:05 --> 00:33:07 cutouts, I think we'd be fine.
00:33:07 --> 00:33:11 But I don't know. And I was listening to something and they said,
00:33:11 --> 00:33:19 you know, that's when you need more non-white people in the the marketing room, the planning room,
00:33:19 --> 00:33:23 the, you know, the evaluation, the product, you know, whatever those departments
00:33:23 --> 00:33:29 are, because, you know, people of a certain ethnicity may not notice anything wrong.
00:33:29 --> 00:33:32 But as soon as I look at it, I'll be like, hold up.
00:33:32 --> 00:33:37 You know, we we we might need to reevaluate. so right yeah right yeah well you
00:33:37 --> 00:33:42 would think you would think but the in the right with the racial climate of
00:33:42 --> 00:33:49 the world today especially here in the united states you really have to be careful,
00:33:49 --> 00:33:56 the images that you put out there without knowing for fact how people might
00:33:56 --> 00:34:03 see them now i i look at this i mean i can't see anything but kkk you know what
00:34:03 --> 00:34:05 i mean that's all i see when I look at this picture.
00:34:06 --> 00:34:10 Okay. Now, if I hadn't heard, if I hadn't read the article or whatever,
00:34:10 --> 00:34:13 I might have blown by it at first.
00:34:14 --> 00:34:20 But then now I now that I know what they're insinuating and what you can't see
00:34:20 --> 00:34:21 anything else, you can't unsee it.
00:34:22 --> 00:34:24 You cannot unsee it in any kind of way.
00:34:24 --> 00:34:27 And, you know, I think it's a big mistake. Bath and Body Works,
00:34:28 --> 00:34:31 too, because, OK, they're getting bad publicity.
00:34:31 --> 00:34:34 You know what? Whether intentional or non-intentional.
00:34:34 --> 00:34:38 And they're pulling all these products from the shelves, you know,
00:34:39 --> 00:34:40 so hopefully in the future.
00:34:40 --> 00:34:42 Something that they were hoping to make money from. Yeah. So,
00:34:43 --> 00:34:46 I mean, hopefully in the future, they'll have more diversity where they kind of spot this quicker.
00:34:46 --> 00:34:51 Well, a lot of times these things happen because, you know, there's no representation
00:34:51 --> 00:34:58 from this community at the table, you know, when these executive decisions are made, you know, so,
00:34:59 --> 00:35:02 you know, that's where the issue really has to start is, you know,
00:35:02 --> 00:35:07 with more African Americans and people of color at that top level management
00:35:07 --> 00:35:12 position and CEO position of these corporations, because certainly they would
00:35:12 --> 00:35:15 have sought through the same lens that you and I sought.
00:35:15 --> 00:35:19 And, you know, given this political environment that we were in with America
00:35:19 --> 00:35:24 being so divided, you know, I always want to remind people we are more alike
00:35:24 --> 00:35:27 than we are different, you know. Yeah.
00:35:28 --> 00:35:34 But, you know, when you do something like this, you know, for part of this size,
00:35:34 --> 00:35:37 you know, it's embarrassing, you know, for a Fortune 500 company.
00:35:38 --> 00:35:44 Yes. So I just thank God for your podcast to bring this to light to me.
00:35:44 --> 00:35:49 I listen to you guys. Yeah.
00:35:49 --> 00:35:55 Well, that's, you know, we, we try, we try to talk, we try to talk about the
00:35:55 --> 00:35:59 stories that a lot of other people aren't talking about because that's what
00:35:59 --> 00:36:01 makes, you know, you gotta, you gotta do that. You know,
00:36:02 --> 00:36:07 There's a lot of information out there in the world today that people need to know.
00:36:08 --> 00:36:11 And sometimes, you know, the Internet is great.
00:36:11 --> 00:36:17 I mean, you know, social media is great. But sometimes you just got to listen.
00:36:18 --> 00:36:23 You got to seek. And you got to want to know. You know what I mean?
00:36:23 --> 00:36:27 And this type of stuff is important. so
00:36:27 --> 00:36:30 you know especially because like you
00:36:30 --> 00:36:33 just said you know in this political climate you know
00:36:33 --> 00:36:36 we got a lot of companies that are supporting
00:36:36 --> 00:36:42 certain candidates you know now we don't know what company they have in body
00:36:42 --> 00:36:45 work maybe who what candidate they might be supporting but it's right you know
00:36:45 --> 00:36:50 but if you see something like this it definitely kind of gives you right certain
00:36:50 --> 00:36:54 vibes as to who they could be supporting. You know what I mean? You know, so.
00:36:54 --> 00:37:01 And what it does is it conjures up in an emotion, you know, when you see images like this,
00:37:01 --> 00:37:06 you know, but what's important for people to always remember is you should never,
00:37:07 --> 00:37:10 ever let your emotions dictate your actions.
00:37:10 --> 00:37:13 Right. You know, you should never let your emotions dictate your actions.
00:37:14 --> 00:37:17 So, you know, they made a mistake.
00:37:18 --> 00:37:22 Hopefully they will learn from it. And then, you know, the folks,
00:37:22 --> 00:37:26 you know, will, you know, kind of simmer down, you know, emotionally because
00:37:26 --> 00:37:30 the images are very emotional and disturbing to look at.
00:37:30 --> 00:37:32 Yeah, that's true. That is true.
00:37:33 --> 00:37:38 Okay. All right. Well, moving on to our next story.
00:37:38 --> 00:37:41 All right. Tell me something I don't know. Go ahead. Okay.
00:37:43 --> 00:37:49 All right, Dave. I would be listening to this show even if I wasn't on it, you know.
00:37:51 --> 00:37:56 I follow you guys. Yeah, I know. We do. And you're one of our biggest supporters. Absolutely.
00:37:57 --> 00:38:01 Now you know why, right? Yeah, yeah. There you go. I get my lesson.
00:38:02 --> 00:38:05 And everybody listening, tune in every time they put up a podcast.
00:38:06 --> 00:38:07 Guarantee you will learn something.
00:38:08 --> 00:38:14 Yeah, that's true. Thank you. Thank you. This next story is Georgia's largest
00:38:14 --> 00:38:23 black-owned adult daycare owner gifts three of its employees with their very own franchises.
00:38:23 --> 00:38:30 This is the backdrop of the story. On September 11th, during the 12th annual
00:38:30 --> 00:38:33 Innovative Senior Solutions Senior Festival.
00:38:34 --> 00:38:39 I found a blue and Jessica Wright, the co-founders of Innovative Senior Solutions,
00:38:39 --> 00:38:47 gifted three of their senior-level employees with their very own adult daycare franchises.
00:38:48 --> 00:38:52 The event was held in partnership with the Caring for Seniors Foundation and
00:38:52 --> 00:38:57 achieved the remarkable milestone as the largest senior festival,
00:38:58 --> 00:39:05 in the state of Georgia with over 600 attendees, including seniors and disabled adults.
00:39:06 --> 00:39:09 The three employees, Whitney Kimbrough,
00:39:10 --> 00:39:14 Director of Business Dispansion, Kayla Bowens,
00:39:14 --> 00:39:20 Director of Admissions, and Arthur Lee Wright, the third Director of Transportation,
00:39:20 --> 00:39:27 was honored with the life-changing opportunity to own and operate their own
00:39:27 --> 00:39:28 franchises within the network.
00:39:29 --> 00:39:34 As Shonda Blue, CEO of Innovative Seeing Solutions, expressed the significance
00:39:34 --> 00:39:41 of the gesture, the magnitude of this gift can change the trajectory of their families.
00:39:42 --> 00:39:48 Wendy, Kayla, and Arthur have dedicated years to the success of a company,
00:39:48 --> 00:39:50 and they're more than deserving.
00:39:52 --> 00:39:58 We know firsthand they will be successful, and we can't wait to see them in
00:39:58 --> 00:40:02 action as they grow their own adult daycare center.
00:40:02 --> 00:40:06 On the festival, which brought together seniors, caregivers,
00:40:06 --> 00:40:10 and local stakeholders, offered attendees valuable information,
00:40:10 --> 00:40:15 activities, and services catered to senior care and well-being.
00:40:16 --> 00:40:20 The event's success not only underscores a strong community engagement,
00:40:20 --> 00:40:25 but also marks a new chapter in the personal and professional lives of the employees
00:40:25 --> 00:40:27 who received this extraordinary gift.
00:40:28 --> 00:40:32 I'm going to stop right there. You imagine working for a company,
00:40:33 --> 00:40:39 putting in years of dedication, hard work, and so forth, and the company,
00:40:39 --> 00:40:47 in a big surprise to you, turns around and rewards you with a franchise of your own?
00:40:48 --> 00:40:53 That is awesome. I saw this story, man. I was like, now who doesn't?
00:40:53 --> 00:40:57 I mean, you don't hear this type of story every day, you know,
00:40:57 --> 00:41:03 where somebody actually goes to work, does the work, and gets rewarded for the work.
00:41:05 --> 00:41:11 That's important. That is very important. And these three people actually put in the work.
00:41:11 --> 00:41:15 Wow. They were awarded their own franchise.
00:41:15 --> 00:41:20 They didn't have to go out and pay for it. Of course, they paid with hard work.
00:41:21 --> 00:41:27 But, you know, the company recognized their good deeds and they took care of them.
00:41:28 --> 00:41:31 Wow. That is so awesome.
00:41:31 --> 00:41:35 I just, I saw that story and I was like, man, you know, you,
00:41:35 --> 00:41:40 you know how many years, I mean, Leonard and I just talked about,
00:41:40 --> 00:41:43 we actually revisited the story with the guy who worked for a burger,
00:41:43 --> 00:41:45 was it Burger King, Leonard?
00:41:45 --> 00:41:50 Oh yeah. Yeah. 20 years. Yeah. 20 years. And they gave him a key chain.
00:41:51 --> 00:41:56 Yeah. I mean, you know, I mean, you know, and they, you know,
00:41:56 --> 00:42:00 of course the family started to go fund me and he raised over 400.
00:42:00 --> 00:42:03 Now you got a food truck and he's doing real good and all
00:42:03 --> 00:42:06 that stuff you know this is the way you reward somebody
00:42:06 --> 00:42:11 yeah this is the way you reward people for hard work and dedication you know
00:42:11 --> 00:42:15 it's just like it's just like you dave with yeah you know paying it forward
00:42:15 --> 00:42:20 to your daughter you know and helping them do what they're doing you know this
00:42:20 --> 00:42:23 is the type of thing this is one of those stories man when i read it i was like.
00:42:24 --> 00:42:31 Man, that's so awesome. You know, so this is the type of stuff that we need to hear about.
00:42:31 --> 00:42:34 And where do you find this stuff, man? That's all I want.
00:42:35 --> 00:42:40 I know where I find it. I tune into your podcast. So then people will be asking
00:42:40 --> 00:42:43 me, where do you find it? I said, oh, I got a secret.
00:42:44 --> 00:42:48 Well, you know, I'm an information hound.
00:42:49 --> 00:42:53 And Leonard posts stuff all the time, you know.
00:42:53 --> 00:42:56 And a lot of times we'll come up with the same stories it's kind of funny it
00:42:56 --> 00:43:00 does happen quite often that we'll come up with the same stories or we'll be
00:43:00 --> 00:43:03 talking to each other i said yeah i saw that story he tell me about it you know
00:43:03 --> 00:43:06 but then you know these kind of human interest stories,
00:43:06 --> 00:43:09 you know i'll be honest with you dave i do
00:43:09 --> 00:43:12 have to search for it's not they don't pop right
00:43:12 --> 00:43:15 up yeah yeah because this kind
00:43:15 --> 00:43:18 of stuff people you know you know
00:43:18 --> 00:43:20 we don't people people ain't going to talk about this stuff they're going
00:43:20 --> 00:43:24 to talk about the ditty and they're going to talk about that type
00:43:24 --> 00:43:27 of stuff all the time you know we could we could spend every
00:43:27 --> 00:43:30 day talking about ditty right now we really could you know
00:43:30 --> 00:43:33 but this is but this kind of stuff and you
00:43:33 --> 00:43:36 know no you got to look for it you got to find it because
00:43:36 --> 00:43:41 it's not stuff that's always put out there you know you know who wouldn't want
00:43:41 --> 00:43:45 to hear about a story or somebody making good because they had employees that
00:43:45 --> 00:43:51 did their job as opposed to employees who wasn't doing their jobs and didn't
00:43:51 --> 00:43:55 deserve the rewards that these three got, you know.
00:43:55 --> 00:43:59 And you think about it. If you have other people that's working for this agency
00:43:59 --> 00:44:03 and they see what just happened with these three, wouldn't that be a incentive
00:44:03 --> 00:44:06 for you to keep doing the job that you're supposed to be doing in order for
00:44:06 --> 00:44:08 being able to get something like that yourself?
00:44:09 --> 00:44:13 Absolutely. And Dave, I was going to say on the flip side, too,
00:44:13 --> 00:44:16 you know, it's probably smarter the company because if you have employees that
00:44:16 --> 00:44:22 show leadership and they're capable of, let's say, handling their business department,
00:44:23 --> 00:44:29 then allowing them to own their own franchises, you know, almost it almost builds
00:44:29 --> 00:44:33 up your company because you're, you know, trusting those people in those positions as well.
00:44:33 --> 00:44:39 Right definitely you know it builds it builds up your company builds up your
00:44:39 --> 00:44:43 your well and it builds up your yelp rating.
00:44:46 --> 00:44:51 So you know how important
00:44:51 --> 00:44:57 that is these days right you know but but it's just i just thought it was a
00:44:57 --> 00:45:03 grand grand jester and i just think that you know when you hear about our folks
00:45:03 --> 00:45:08 going out there and doing stuff like this and being rewarded in the way that they were rewarded.
00:45:08 --> 00:45:12 I just thought it was an awesome, awesome thing. So I had to bring that story,
00:45:13 --> 00:45:15 to News and Trends today.
00:45:16 --> 00:45:20 News and Trends, right? News and Trends. David Lynch.
00:45:23 --> 00:45:28 They don't call it that for a reason, right? Right. There you go.
00:45:28 --> 00:45:30 There it is. That's what we're all about.
00:45:31 --> 00:45:35 But anyway, so that brings us to Leonard's favorite part of the show.
00:45:37 --> 00:45:43 Leonard, Leonard. Should I sit down? No, I think you can handle this.
00:45:43 --> 00:45:46 Leonard's the one who always has trouble handling it. I think you can handle this.
00:45:51 --> 00:45:57 What's that? No, no, no. Okay. Okay. All right. Well, this is Dave's Corner.
00:45:58 --> 00:46:02 And so Dave's Corner, you know, Dave's Corner, We always ask good questions
00:46:02 --> 00:46:05 and philosophical questions. So I got a question for the both of you.
00:46:06 --> 00:46:10 And Dave, I'm going to have you answer this question first. If you could do
00:46:10 --> 00:46:19 interviews with three well-known people and they had to answer all your questions
00:46:19 --> 00:46:22 you asked with full disclosure,
00:46:22 --> 00:46:25 who would those three people be?
00:46:25 --> 00:46:32 Well, are you saying are they alive or have they passed? They could be alive or they could be dead.
00:46:32 --> 00:46:35 They had to be, you know, famous people, of course, you know,
00:46:35 --> 00:46:37 but they could be dead or alive.
00:46:37 --> 00:46:42 But if you had a chance to talk to them and had a chance to interview them,
00:46:42 --> 00:46:45 and like I said, you can ask them any question.
00:46:46 --> 00:46:50 Right. And they had to give you the answer to those questions. Full disclosure.
00:46:51 --> 00:46:55 Right. What three people would you want to interview? Well, I would start off
00:46:55 --> 00:46:56 with Martin Luther King.
00:46:57 --> 00:47:03 Yeah. Obvious, obvious reasons. Obvious reasons. And then because of my music background.
00:47:04 --> 00:47:07 You know, I've had the pleasure of doing this one as well.
00:47:08 --> 00:47:14 It would be Quincy Jones and Stevie Wonder, who I had the pleasure of interviewing
00:47:14 --> 00:47:17 them both because they're featured in the Dion doc.
00:47:18 --> 00:47:20 And of course, Dion would be in that lump.
00:47:20 --> 00:47:30 The other person I think I would want to interview is somebody like a Shirley Chisholm. Wow.
00:47:31 --> 00:47:36 Yeah. Yeah, you know, Shirley Chisholm.
00:47:36 --> 00:47:41 And then, last but not least, Tupac or Biggie.
00:47:47 --> 00:47:48 Flip a corn, you know?
00:47:52 --> 00:47:57 Okay. That's a range, right? Yeah, that's a good range.
00:47:57 --> 00:48:01 I like the Shirley Chisholm one. I really do.
00:48:02 --> 00:48:06 Hey, guys, guys got to Google that one, you know. Well, that's one.
00:48:06 --> 00:48:08 Now I know. The young folks.
00:48:10 --> 00:48:12 Yeah, young folks got to Google that.
00:48:15 --> 00:48:22 All right, Leonard. Yep, so you know it's funny because I was thinking of a set.
00:48:22 --> 00:48:26 I ain't going to say that on here. But the other day, Wooley said it.
00:48:26 --> 00:48:32 I'm safe to say that the Biggie Tupac, and I was trying to think of if I could
00:48:32 --> 00:48:35 only ask one of them which one,
00:48:35 --> 00:48:42 and I think I would probably go ahead and ask Tupac so that would be one of them,
00:48:43 --> 00:48:49 The second person I would probably ask would be Malcolm X.
00:48:50 --> 00:48:53 You know, just because he was so revolutionary, you know, I didn't know,
00:48:54 --> 00:48:58 you know, more information that, you know, probably would not be public.
00:48:59 --> 00:49:05 And then the last one is going to be Donald Trump, because I want to call him
00:49:05 --> 00:49:07 a liar, liar, pants on fire.
00:49:08 --> 00:49:11 You know all you know all these things he
00:49:11 --> 00:49:14 didn't know he doesn't know what uh
00:49:14 --> 00:49:20 you know who did it what it is you know he didn't cause the riots you know the
00:49:20 --> 00:49:27 election being fake you know so basically i you know i just want to hear him
00:49:27 --> 00:49:31 admit to all these lies that he just tells on daily basis.
00:49:36 --> 00:49:42 That's interesting what about you Dave Dave so if you could interview three
00:49:42 --> 00:49:48 well known people and they had to answer all your questions full disclosure who would they be,
00:49:49 --> 00:49:54 well I have to say one that's already been said already who I thought would
00:49:54 --> 00:49:57 be somebody that all three of us would say but two of us,
00:49:58 --> 00:50:03 MLK definitely would have to So I definitely would have to have a talk with Arnold.
00:50:04 --> 00:50:05 I would definitely have to have that talk.
00:50:06 --> 00:50:08 Because there's some things I want to know.
00:50:09 --> 00:50:11 I'm going to be honest. There's some things I want to know.
00:50:14 --> 00:50:18 Leonard, you actually said something that kind of made sense,
00:50:18 --> 00:50:21 even though you might have made a mistake in trying to make sense,
00:50:22 --> 00:50:25 which was the Donald Trump thing.
00:50:26 --> 00:50:29 But my person would not be Donald Trump, I would ask.
00:50:29 --> 00:50:35 I would like to interview. my person would be Mike Pence okay because I think
00:50:35 --> 00:50:42 Mike Pence has a lot of answers I thought you were going to say Melania Melana she ain't going to talk.
00:50:44 --> 00:50:50 You said full disclosure she got to answer the questions even still though I
00:50:50 --> 00:50:53 think Mike Pence would probably tell me everything I need,
00:50:54 --> 00:51:00 I want to know I'm going to put it that way because Mike you notice he's not saying much these days.
00:51:01 --> 00:51:04 He's waiting on his book. He's going to say it in his book. Yeah,
00:51:04 --> 00:51:07 he's waiting on that book. And he's waiting for Trump to lose.
00:51:09 --> 00:51:11 So that's what it is. There you go.
00:51:12 --> 00:51:17 And my last person, because I got some questions, Will Smith.
00:51:18 --> 00:51:21 Wow okay because there's some
00:51:21 --> 00:51:24 questions you know yeah we've talked
00:51:24 --> 00:51:27 about a lot that's going on will has
00:51:27 --> 00:51:35 a lot of stuff around him you know what i mean and i just like to have a sit-down
00:51:35 --> 00:51:42 conversation with him full disclosure to find out what's really going on yeah
00:51:42 --> 00:51:46 so that would be my Those would be my guys.
00:51:47 --> 00:51:52 And I'm going to throw a little caveat in there as well. I would love to have
00:51:52 --> 00:51:54 a conversation with Harriet Tubman, too.
00:51:55 --> 00:51:59 Yeah. Wow. Yeah. Wow. I would love to have a conversation with her.
00:52:00 --> 00:52:03 Yeah. Yeah. Call me when you set that up, okay?
00:52:05 --> 00:52:12 Hey, Dave Coker, we got to get Dave Woolley and Vita to produce it.
00:52:12 --> 00:52:16 And win some more nominations.
00:52:18 --> 00:52:25 We'll set up an interview, a Zoom thing with Harriet Tubman and Shirley Chisholm.
00:52:28 --> 00:52:32 Well, you know, women rule the world. You know, women... Right now,
00:52:32 --> 00:52:34 they do. They definitely run it right now.
00:52:35 --> 00:52:38 The strength of a black woman has always been underestimated in this country.
00:52:39 --> 00:52:43 Look, me and Leonard, one of me and Leonard's favorite favorite
00:52:43 --> 00:52:46 superstars right now is Jasmine Crockett and that
00:52:46 --> 00:52:49 girl this I think yeah she's you
00:52:49 --> 00:52:52 know she's she's on the next she's on the next come up
00:52:52 --> 00:52:55 you know what I mean she's right there she's right
00:52:55 --> 00:52:58 there you know so but you know
00:52:58 --> 00:53:01 this type we have to in
00:53:01 --> 00:53:04 a couple weeks we'll see who really want runs the
00:53:04 --> 00:53:07 world you know people get out there and vote you
00:53:07 --> 00:53:11 know absolutely we can't do it for you but people
00:53:11 --> 00:53:13 need to get out there and do it you know and men and men
00:53:13 --> 00:53:16 yeah and then that there's been a lot of talk about
00:53:16 --> 00:53:23 black men and and voting recently and we you know and actually they try to make
00:53:23 --> 00:53:28 it look like that black men wasn't voting but the numbers are showing we've
00:53:28 --> 00:53:34 been voting you know but we need we need everybody to vote though We need everybody to vote.
00:53:35 --> 00:53:40 Dave, we want to take a moment before we sign off the show and give you a chance
00:53:40 --> 00:53:45 to talk about everything you got going on or want people to know about.
00:53:46 --> 00:53:49 And, you know, of course, you can talk about what's happening in a couple of
00:53:49 --> 00:53:53 days, as well as anything else that you have going on. So the floor is yours
00:53:53 --> 00:53:55 to do that at this moment.
00:53:55 --> 00:53:58 Oh, thank you so much. You know, first of all, I want to commend you,
00:53:58 --> 00:54:03 the two of you. You guys have been friends, David, David C.
00:54:03 --> 00:54:09 We go back to probably 19, early 80s, you know, easily when you,
00:54:09 --> 00:54:12 you know, would come out and support my band.
00:54:12 --> 00:54:15 Yeah yeah and and and
00:54:15 --> 00:54:18 later we go back one of my favorite bands back then by the way
00:54:18 --> 00:54:20 well thank you so much yeah a lot of people don't know i
00:54:20 --> 00:54:23 play drums you know and that's how i got into the whole
00:54:23 --> 00:54:30 entertainment industry as a drummer it started at the age of six and and i have
00:54:30 --> 00:54:33 so much love and respect for you because you've always been just as beautiful
00:54:33 --> 00:54:38 as you are today even back then and lenny nothing but much love and respect
00:54:38 --> 00:54:42 for you appreciate it really and what you've been able to do and how you have,
00:54:43 --> 00:54:46 changed Delaware for the better. Both of you.
00:54:47 --> 00:54:51 So anybody who does that, really, I'm a huge fan of.
00:54:51 --> 00:54:56 In terms of what we're doing, I usually don't talk about projects that are being
00:54:56 --> 00:54:59 developed. I'm kind of superstitious.
00:55:00 --> 00:55:03 I just try to show the work after it's done.
00:55:04 --> 00:55:07 But Dave, let me share something with you. That's why you just said that.
00:55:07 --> 00:55:12 You don't talk about projects that you're about that you're developing or about to develop.
00:55:13 --> 00:55:17 You did talk about one project with us the last time we talked to you that you
00:55:17 --> 00:55:21 were developing and you were telling us what was about to happen and it blew up.
00:55:22 --> 00:55:23 So maybe we're in good luck chart.
00:55:24 --> 00:55:29 Was that the documentary? Yeah, it was the documentary. Remember you were telling us?
00:55:30 --> 00:55:33 Wow, I didn't realize that. Yeah.
00:55:35 --> 00:55:39 We're waiting on our royalties too. Yeah, that's right.
00:55:40 --> 00:55:43 That's right that's right i forgot about that reparations man
00:55:43 --> 00:55:46 reparations but you know the funny thing
00:55:46 --> 00:55:49 is is we all mentioned some kind of rapper you know
00:55:49 --> 00:55:52 and and and people that we would want to talk to one
00:55:52 --> 00:55:56 of the things i'm very very excited and vita happens to be working with me on
00:55:56 --> 00:56:01 this is we have been named to the as advisory board for the new museum that's
00:56:01 --> 00:56:07 opening next year the hip-hop museum in the bronx oh wow and it's it's a state
00:56:07 --> 00:56:10 of the art oh my goodness it's gonna to be amazing.
00:56:10 --> 00:56:14 And it's, it's, you know, hip hop was created in the Bronx and you guys know
00:56:14 --> 00:56:17 I was going to race in Harlem right up, right up the road.
00:56:18 --> 00:56:25 So they reached out to me and said that they have several of my concert posters
00:56:25 --> 00:56:29 from those early days of the hip hop shows I produced,
00:56:29 --> 00:56:35 the Globe posters, and that they were going to display like a little section in the museum for me.
00:56:35 --> 00:56:39 And called me a pioneer of hip-hop. I was like, what?
00:56:41 --> 00:56:46 Seriously, can you imagine? And they asked me, do you have any more memorabilia?
00:56:47 --> 00:56:53 So just recently, I've gone through my memorabilia, and I found a contract with
00:56:53 --> 00:56:57 Jazzy Jeff and the Fresh Prince playing at Delaware State that I did.
00:56:58 --> 00:56:59 And guess how much I paid them?
00:56:59 --> 00:57:02 How much? $2.
00:57:03 --> 00:57:07 No kidding. Yes. $2?
00:57:09 --> 00:57:15 1989. Yeah, I'm about to have him now. Oh, well. I have an actual contract.
00:57:17 --> 00:57:21 Oh, you know, and I found all of this other archival stuff that,
00:57:21 --> 00:57:25 you know, now this stuff, I have a poster, that original poster when I brought
00:57:25 --> 00:57:29 Run DMC to Delaware State for Homecoming.
00:57:29 --> 00:57:34 I mean, just imagine, that's like bringing Jay-Z or Drake to Del State.
00:57:34 --> 00:57:39 I mean, and then, you know, they had all of these other posters I did from Homecoming,
00:57:39 --> 00:57:44 from Lincoln, with, man, KRS, Boogie Down Productions.
00:57:45 --> 00:57:49 I mean, it went on and on and on. Some of the shows that they had posters,
00:57:49 --> 00:57:50 I didn't even remember. I didn't.
00:57:51 --> 00:57:54 My name wasn't. If it didn't say on the poster on the bottom of the day,
00:57:54 --> 00:57:57 only production, I wouldn't even remember.
00:57:57 --> 00:58:02 So the CEO, Rocky, reached out to me. And then we had a meeting and then he
00:58:02 --> 00:58:05 said, listen, we'd love for you to be part of our board.
00:58:05 --> 00:58:09 So and your daughter. So she's helping with the country. So that's exciting.
00:58:09 --> 00:58:13 And I will say, you know, we have another major film that we are developing
00:58:13 --> 00:58:16 right now. So, you know, this has been good.
00:58:16 --> 00:58:19 You know, I mean, really, it's good. Delaware has been good.
00:58:19 --> 00:58:24 People like you have supported me and family just as much as I love and support
00:58:24 --> 00:58:27 you guys. And listen. Yeah.
00:58:27 --> 00:58:30 You know, what what what more can I ask for? You know? Yeah.
00:58:30 --> 00:58:32 So they do quick questions.
00:58:32 --> 00:58:36 The hip hop museum. Is that the same one? Did it travel around the country?
00:58:37 --> 00:58:41 Is that the same one I'm thinking about? So I know during the 50th year hip
00:58:41 --> 00:58:45 hop, there was a museum that I thought traveled and then we're going to take
00:58:45 --> 00:58:47 permanent residence in New York. Yes.
00:58:47 --> 00:58:52 Yeah. What they did is they. Yeah. Yeah. They, you know, LL Cool J and a whole
00:58:52 --> 00:58:53 bunch of other folks. They went around the country.
00:58:54 --> 00:58:58 And that was basically to get the excitement for the one that's going to open in the Bronx.
00:58:58 --> 00:59:02 I mean, it's a multi-multi-million dollar state-of-the-art facility.
00:59:02 --> 00:59:06 And, you know, to have, I think there's, you know, four or five,
00:59:06 --> 00:59:10 maybe more posters of mine that will be hanging in a picture.
00:59:10 --> 00:59:14 I mean, it's just really to be part of hip-hop history.
00:59:14 --> 00:59:19 You know, I remember, real quick, I remember bringing Queen Latifah. I call her Dana.
00:59:20 --> 00:59:24 Her very first tour. I brought her to Dell State, since we're in Delaware,
00:59:24 --> 00:59:29 and the students showed up to the Martin Luther King Center to see her rap,
00:59:29 --> 00:59:33 but they thought she was Muhammad Ali's daughter. Nobody, that was the rumor.
00:59:35 --> 00:59:40 Nobody knew Queen Latifah, so Queen Latifah came out the rumor where she was
00:59:40 --> 00:59:41 Muhammad Ali's daughter.
00:59:41 --> 00:59:44 So I told Dana, hey, we're going to run with this because we're selling tickets.
00:59:49 --> 00:59:53 Get up on that stage and do your thing, you know, and you got to think about it.
00:59:53 --> 00:59:57 And it sounds funny now, but, you know, that was before social media.
00:59:57 --> 00:59:58 That was before the Internet.
00:59:59 --> 01:00:02 You know, so so and that was the early days of hip hop.
01:00:04 --> 01:00:10 So, yeah, that that's exciting. And and hopefully I can get back on your show. Oh, yeah.
01:00:11 --> 01:00:15 You're always welcome to come back. on and and
01:00:15 --> 01:00:18 babe i also want to see because i saw on social media too so
01:00:18 --> 01:00:24 um i do want to personally congratulate you um i see that you are the keynote
01:00:24 --> 01:00:29 speaker of the 10th anniversary of every man counts oh i'm so glad you mentioned
01:00:29 --> 01:00:34 it kings yep so you and and of course you know dave coca knows aja too but you
01:00:34 --> 01:00:38 know a very good friend in fact we have to have aja on too because.
01:00:39 --> 01:00:42 Dave, it's so funny because I talked to her earlier and she's like,
01:00:42 --> 01:00:46 yeah she's like, I saw a lot of Dave Woolies that be on your show tonight. I'm like, yeah.
01:00:47 --> 01:00:50 I just want to congratulate you because in Delaware,
01:00:51 --> 01:00:54 and I mean, you know, there's many great fathers, but kind of like, you know,
01:00:54 --> 01:00:59 Dave Coker and I said before, if there's anybody who is going to verbally let
01:00:59 --> 01:01:05 you know that they're proud of their daughters and can see the strength of other
01:01:05 --> 01:01:08 fathers with their family, it's going to be Dave Woolley.
01:01:08 --> 01:01:12 So, you know, I definitely appreciate you for that because, you know,
01:01:13 --> 01:01:17 some of the things you say and, you know, now I recognize because my daughter's
01:01:17 --> 01:01:21 in 11th grade now and now I'm starting to get a little bit scared.
01:01:21 --> 01:01:23 I'm like, man, one more year and she's about to leave.
01:01:24 --> 01:01:26 And, you know, I think about how she was little.
01:01:26 --> 01:01:32 And Dave Coker, Dave Woolley always says to me, cherish these memories because they grow up so fast.
01:01:33 --> 01:01:37 And you are absolutely correct. But I just want to congratulate you on.
01:01:37 --> 01:01:43 And in my mind, when I see this slide, I'm calling you the 10th anniversary father of the year.
01:01:43 --> 01:01:49 Well, you know, even though it says keynote, but I just want to congratulate you.
01:01:49 --> 01:01:53 And I want to let you know that, you know, some of the I'll just call them pep
01:01:53 --> 01:01:56 talks that you give to fathers. And I'm sure you give them many more than,
01:01:56 --> 01:01:59 you know, just me and Dave Coker.
01:01:59 --> 01:02:04 But they are appreciated. And even if people don't personally thank you.
01:02:04 --> 01:02:10 There's a lot of wisdom and, you know, a lot of things you say and, you know.
01:02:12 --> 01:02:15 People can relate in their own different way. So, you know, I didn't want to
01:02:15 --> 01:02:16 let you know, I appreciate you.
01:02:18 --> 01:02:22 Yeah, because every time I see you, it's a reminder. And I think two weeks ago,
01:02:22 --> 01:02:24 I got scared. I'm like, oh, shoot, she's about to be.
01:02:24 --> 01:02:26 Okay, we got to do this. We got to do this.
01:02:27 --> 01:02:29 But yeah, I mean, they grow up quick.
01:02:30 --> 01:02:34 Well, thank you so much. And that event is going to be amazing.
01:02:34 --> 01:02:36 It's December 4th, guys. Write
01:02:36 --> 01:02:39 it down. December 4th is going to be at the Waterfall Banquet Center.
01:02:39 --> 01:02:43 And, you know, December is right around the corner. And I'm so honored because
01:02:43 --> 01:02:46 they gave me the first father of the year award.
01:02:47 --> 01:02:51 So when she, Aja, who I love dearly, and she's another one that has changed
01:02:51 --> 01:02:55 this. They asked me to be keynote speaker. You know, I was delated.
01:02:55 --> 01:02:59 You know, my story is real quick. You know, it is. I got custody of both my
01:02:59 --> 01:03:04 daughters as a custodial parent when they were two and three years old. Wow.
01:03:04 --> 01:03:09 Two and three. I traded my briefcase in for a diaper bag and raised them.
01:03:11 --> 01:03:14 I took them from Play-Doh to pantyhose, you know.
01:03:18 --> 01:03:23 And, you know, and they were with me full time until, you know,
01:03:23 --> 01:03:26 until they moved off and left for college.
01:03:26 --> 01:03:31 And, you know, one lives in Atlanta and one lives in Las Vegas, you know.
01:03:31 --> 01:03:34 So, you know, not only did they leave home, they left home where they can't
01:03:34 --> 01:03:37 get in the car and just shoot back in 20 minutes.
01:03:39 --> 01:03:43 So, you know, but fathers and mothers, you know, you have to remember that children
01:03:43 --> 01:03:45 are the destiny of our legacy.
01:03:45 --> 01:03:49 Children are the destiny of our legacy, and that'll put everything else in perspective.
01:03:50 --> 01:03:59 Wow. Okay. All right. Well, you definitely have been a trailblazer.
01:03:59 --> 01:04:05 And any of these awards that you are nominated for or get a chance to win or
01:04:05 --> 01:04:12 being a guest speaker, I did see that posted on Facebook, so I thought that was awesome.
01:04:13 --> 01:04:20 So, and, you know, and I know that would be a great program if she's involved.
01:04:20 --> 01:04:25 So that's something that we definitely have to look forward to.
01:04:26 --> 01:04:32 But, folks, let me tell you, the reason that we like having this guy on is because,
01:04:32 --> 01:04:38 you know, he's Delaware, but he's national as well.
01:04:38 --> 01:04:46 And people get to know people as much stuff as he's done you know.
01:04:48 --> 01:04:55 Your mind gets blown when you see the memorabilia he posted something recently
01:04:55 --> 01:05:04 every now and then he'll post it up and I'll be like wow Rick James Rick James yeah.
01:05:06 --> 01:05:09 Craziness So I'll be like, and he still has this stuff, folks.
01:05:09 --> 01:05:13 I'm telling you, I mean, when you see, if you knew some of the stuff that he's
01:05:13 --> 01:05:20 done and you know, you, and like, I've known him, you know, for most of my life.
01:05:20 --> 01:05:21 Okay. Let me put it that way.
01:05:23 --> 01:05:28 And I, I still find it amazing that some of the stuff I see that he's done and
01:05:28 --> 01:05:30 I'll be like, he did that.
01:05:31 --> 01:05:36 Wow. I didn't know he did that. But then I remember some of the stuff that he
01:05:36 --> 01:05:38 did do, and I'll be like the same thing.
01:05:38 --> 01:05:42 I'll be like, wow, I remember that. I remember this. I remember that.
01:05:42 --> 01:05:46 So you're talking about somebody that's had nine lives. This man has had.
01:05:47 --> 01:05:54 It's been over a thousand events. So, you know, I stopped counting them.
01:05:55 --> 01:05:56 Yeah, there you go.
01:05:57 --> 01:06:00 Then you get the boxing stuff, which I love, too.
01:06:01 --> 01:06:06 Yeah, there you go. So that's what I'm saying. So when you guys,
01:06:06 --> 01:06:11 when you see that we have Dave Willey on our show and you guys be saying, he's on there again?
01:06:11 --> 01:06:15 Yeah, he's on there again because we want him on there again because,
01:06:15 --> 01:06:21 you know, I mean, you know, and he's, you know, we're just a good luck charm.
01:06:21 --> 01:06:24 So, you know, you heard all the stuff he has about to go out.
01:06:24 --> 01:06:28 So watch now, officially, the stuff is about to blow up Because,
01:06:28 --> 01:06:32 look, when he came on our show before, he was talking about that documentary.
01:06:33 --> 01:06:35 And we were like, oh, wow, it's going to be pretty good.
01:06:36 --> 01:06:38 That documentary came out. I was like, what?
01:06:41 --> 01:06:45 It was his first one. Yeah, thank you. Yeah, very first.
01:06:46 --> 01:06:50 He said, wait, you've never done this before? And he said, no,
01:06:50 --> 01:06:51 I ain't never done this before.
01:06:54 --> 01:06:58 And he nominated for 100 awards, you know. So, I mean, it's crazy.
01:06:58 --> 01:07:01 You know so folks y'all better
01:07:01 --> 01:07:04 you better recognize this is dave woolley y'all
01:07:04 --> 01:07:07 that's what that's what i gotta say this is dave

01:07:20 --> 01:07:28 platform and thank you most of all for allowing us to call you friends and you to call us friends.
01:07:28 --> 01:07:32 Yeah, and we're girl dads. All three of us are girl dads, you know?
01:07:32 --> 01:07:34 Yeah, there you go. There you go.
01:07:36 --> 01:07:42 Hey, Leonard, two of us have the same daughters with the same name. That's crazy.
01:07:43 --> 01:07:50 And get this, Dave. My daughter was a law student. Oh! We got to come back on
01:07:50 --> 01:07:51 and finish that show, okay?
