In this engaging episode, hosts Dave and Len delve into a variety of current topics, from the implications of martial law being declared in Washington, D.C., to the growing trend of medical tourism. The episode begins with a lighthearted conversation about the fast-fading summer and the subtle signs of seasonal changes, before discussing Trump’s controversial move to enforce martial law in D.C. under the guise of combating crime.
The discussion then shifts to Saquon Barkley's decision to reject an invitation to join President Trump's Council on Sports, Fitness, and Nutrition, contemplating the pressures and public backlash athletes face when aligning with political figures. Following this, Dave and Len explore the tragic story of Marty Latchman, who died unexpectedly before undergoing a hair transplant in Turkey, highlighting the risks involved in seeking affordable medical procedures abroad.
The episode wraps up with Dave’s intriguing 'Would You Rather' scenarios and a brief discussion on the dynamics of cosmetic procedures, reflecting on society's pressures and standards. This episode not only provides informative insights into current events but also offers a platform for thought-provoking conversation.

00:01:40 --> 00:01:43 Delawareblack.com black media specialist all
00:01:43 --> 00:01:49 around good guy how goes it dave hey man i can't call it one day at a time just
00:01:49 --> 00:01:53 trying to make it through what's left of the summer man this summer is coming
00:01:53 --> 00:02:00 to an end so fast man it is well we got what uh two more weeks basically yeah
00:02:00 --> 00:02:02 i was I was talking to a friend of mine that's a teacher,
00:02:02 --> 00:02:06 and she was telling me that she goes back to school on Wednesday.
00:02:07 --> 00:02:10 Yep, school's about to start. Yeah, I mean, you know, I mean.
00:02:12 --> 00:02:17 This goes by so fast. I can always tell when the summer is changing or it's
00:02:17 --> 00:02:24 about to end because of the weather gets, I mean, you can see the times start to change.
00:02:24 --> 00:02:26 You know, it's starting to get dark a little earlier. Right.
00:02:27 --> 00:02:32 I'd be like, man, it just seemed like it just turned summertime, man. Nah, nah.
00:02:32 --> 00:02:36 Well, you know, Dave, I feel like, and I mean, of course, good times always
00:02:36 --> 00:02:38 go quick. Summers go quick.
00:02:38 --> 00:02:44 But I feel like when you're a kid and you have less responsibilities, summers seem longer.
00:02:44 --> 00:02:48 But, you know, when you're working and, you know, doing stuff that's not of
00:02:48 --> 00:02:53 your own, like, direct personal interest, you know what I mean?
00:02:54 --> 00:02:57 Like, I feel like I worked the summer away. okay
00:02:57 --> 00:03:00 you know i mean like like i i didn't get to enjoy it
00:03:00 --> 00:03:04 which probably would have made it maybe seem longer
00:03:04 --> 00:03:07 when i think back but now like i'm like damn i probably worked
00:03:07 --> 00:03:09 every weekend worked every week you know
00:03:09 --> 00:03:14 work nights you know all that so i'm it had definitely flown by for me that's
00:03:14 --> 00:03:19 for sure yeah definitely and it's been it's been that kind of summer and i know
00:03:19 --> 00:03:23 especially somebody like you that stays busy all the time i can imagine what
00:03:23 --> 00:03:27 it's been like but you know And this was a hot summer, too.
00:03:27 --> 00:03:30 I mean, the weather was really hot this summer.
00:03:31 --> 00:03:34 And it's going to look like it's going out with a bang now, you know,
00:03:34 --> 00:03:36 because we've had a few hot days in a row.
00:03:36 --> 00:03:41 But, hey, let's enjoy it while we can because it will definitely disappear on
00:03:41 --> 00:03:43 us. So, you know, Labor Day is coming fast.
00:03:44 --> 00:03:49 No, it really is. Yeah. So we'll make the best of it as we go along.
00:03:50 --> 00:03:53 What else is going on? Anything? Yeah, well, Dave, you know,
00:03:53 --> 00:03:56 I have to say something to you.
00:03:56 --> 00:04:02 And when I say this word, tell me your first reaction, okay? You ready?
00:04:03 --> 00:04:08 To be that's my first reaction i always gotta laugh.
00:04:10 --> 00:04:14 To me though is an interesting channel because i
00:04:14 --> 00:04:18 don't go there a lot but when i do go there i do manage to find something to
00:04:18 --> 00:04:24 watch and because you're saying yourself okay you you see the titles you'd be
00:04:24 --> 00:04:32 like oh okay that looks interesting let me try it you know so but it's you know it,
00:04:32 --> 00:04:36 takes me back to a few years ago when we were thinking about doing something
00:04:36 --> 00:04:44 like that oh man we slipped up yeah I know but you know who else has a streaming
00:04:44 --> 00:04:48 service that's doing pretty well Tasha K oh does she?
00:04:48 --> 00:04:55 Yes she does and it has a lot of movies on there and stuff that she's producing
00:04:55 --> 00:04:59 and so forth and it sort of reminds you of Tubi a little bit and they even have.
00:05:00 --> 00:05:03 Cross cross sections of tubi movies on there as
00:05:03 --> 00:05:06 well oh wow okay yeah and so
00:05:06 --> 00:05:10 the reason i brought up tubi you know this was one of the rare weekends
00:05:10 --> 00:05:14 i had just a lot of free time to kind of sit around and you
00:05:14 --> 00:05:17 know i do work while the tv was on and they
00:05:17 --> 00:05:20 saw you know i went on tubi and i've probably only been on
00:05:20 --> 00:05:22 there once or twice before and i was scrolling through
00:05:22 --> 00:05:26 the category because usually like i like to watch horror movies so
00:05:26 --> 00:05:29 i went to the section and i saw they have a
00:05:29 --> 00:05:32 section called black cinema and i
00:05:32 --> 00:05:35 was like you know let me see what they have on here so i
00:05:35 --> 00:05:38 went to this movie it was called the x
00:05:38 --> 00:05:41 next door and i was
00:05:41 --> 00:05:45 watching the movie and i and in my mind when i think of tubi movies i think
00:05:45 --> 00:05:48 of like some bootleg tyler perry movies where somebody gets shot and they're
00:05:48 --> 00:05:55 twirling around they're sliding down the wall this movie was really really good
00:05:55 --> 00:06:00 and you I'm not going to say anything about it for anyone who may check it out, the ex next door.
00:06:01 --> 00:06:04 So then I was like, let me watch something else. And I watched something called
00:06:04 --> 00:06:08 the, the divorce lawyer that, that was another.
00:06:08 --> 00:06:13 And now when I say good, you know, I'm not talking about like a list celebrities and all that.
00:06:14 --> 00:06:19 I'm just saying, you know, sitting down, it almost reminded me of like a lifetime movie.
00:06:20 --> 00:06:23 Did that divorce lawyer have like a twist at the end?
00:06:23 --> 00:06:26 I'm not going to tell Dave, you got, you got to jump on.
00:06:27 --> 00:06:32 I think it's something I've seen. That's why I'm at it. Is a divorce lawyer black or white?
00:06:33 --> 00:06:36 Black. No. Okay. So this is not that movie.
00:06:36 --> 00:06:42 Okay. All right. Okay. Yeah. Okay. So then after that, I put on another movie
00:06:42 --> 00:06:46 and Dave, you can be sure I'm about to download that Tubi app on my phone and
00:06:46 --> 00:06:47 I'll probably be watching.
00:06:48 --> 00:06:52 Well, I need to get my work done for real, but you know, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I,
00:06:53 --> 00:06:58 This is kind of a shameless plug for Tubi, but for anyone who maybe watched
00:06:58 --> 00:07:02 them when they first started, I don't know what the movies were like then.
00:07:02 --> 00:07:08 But now, and of course, Tubi is free. They do have commercials during the movie, but Tubi is free.
00:07:09 --> 00:07:15 Tubi actually has some movies that are very entertaining. and anyone who kind
00:07:15 --> 00:07:19 of was on the fence or kind of gave up on them, if it was a long time ago,
00:07:19 --> 00:07:24 I would encourage that person to, hey, give it another shot.
00:07:24 --> 00:07:27 Because I know, Dave, I'm about to be on Tubi a lot more.
00:07:27 --> 00:07:31 Yeah, but they have some good stuff on there. I mean, I've gone on there,
00:07:31 --> 00:07:34 I've seen a few good movies and so forth.
00:07:36 --> 00:07:41 And what makes it unique is because a lot of them are independent movie makers
00:07:41 --> 00:07:47 and so forth. And, you know, and, you know, it's interesting that they are able
00:07:47 --> 00:07:48 to do what they're doing.
00:07:50 --> 00:07:52 And, you know, I like to know how they make their money, though.
00:07:52 --> 00:07:56 But that's another story. Well, they make their money through ads, advertising.
00:07:57 --> 00:08:02 Yeah. OK. But it seemed like it would be more than just that to me.
00:08:02 --> 00:08:07 I mean, you know, but then, you know, we don't know whether people are charging
00:08:07 --> 00:08:10 or getting charged to put their movies on there or whatever.
00:08:10 --> 00:08:18 Yeah so i i think i heard that if you get your movie on to be that you don't
00:08:18 --> 00:08:24 you don't get paid okay all right um i think it's more of like a promotion you know you get visibility,
00:08:25 --> 00:08:30 like a bartering type situation yeah you know almost like you know you you can
00:08:30 --> 00:08:33 use those stats like your movie does really well on to be it probably makes
00:08:33 --> 00:08:37 it easier to shop around maybe We get distribution and stuff like that.
00:08:38 --> 00:08:41 Okay. All right. Well, I mean, that's what I heard.
00:08:42 --> 00:08:47 All right. Well, you know, we'll see when they put the Leonard Young story on there.
00:08:49 --> 00:08:56 Well, no, Dave, they got to pay for that story. Oh, okay. There you go. There you go. Okay.
00:08:57 --> 00:09:01 Well, you know, Leonard did a shameless plug for Tubi.
00:09:01 --> 00:09:05 So make sure you guys who have never been on there, go check it out.
00:09:05 --> 00:09:07 I'm telling you, I was a little surprised when I went on there.
00:09:07 --> 00:09:11 Yeah, me too. And I was like, oh, okay. All right. There's a couple of good things on here.
00:09:12 --> 00:09:18 So just check it out, folks. And, you know, there's definitely a lot of movies
00:09:18 --> 00:09:21 about us, you know, for us, that type of stuff on there.
00:09:21 --> 00:09:28 So, all right. So let's get into a couple of these stories that we got here.
00:09:28 --> 00:09:32 Well, speaking of for us, by us, and all of that kind of stuff,
00:09:32 --> 00:09:41 I saw the story about the Black population hits 51.6 million in the shocking
00:09:41 --> 00:09:44 reason some want you to believe otherwise.
00:09:46 --> 00:09:52 So I came across this story in reference to what the Census Bureau found about,
00:09:52 --> 00:09:55 you know, the Black population.
00:09:56 --> 00:09:59 And I just wanted to read a few things about this story that I saw.
00:10:00 --> 00:10:06 It says, This recent U.S. Census Bureau and the Pew Research Center data confirmed
00:10:06 --> 00:10:10 that the Black population in the United States is steadily increasing.
00:10:11 --> 00:10:16 In 2000, approximately 36.2 million Black Americans were recorded.
00:10:17 --> 00:10:20 This seems like to me it would be more than that, doesn't it? It does.
00:10:21 --> 00:10:26 Okay. So, you know, this is what they said was recorded in 2000.
00:10:26 --> 00:10:37 By 2023, the number had risen to 48.3 million, marking a 33% increase over the previous two decades.
00:10:39 --> 00:10:48 Estimates for 2024 project the black population to be at 51.6 million,
00:10:48 --> 00:10:53 representing a 15.2% of the U.S. population.
00:10:54 --> 00:11:00 So they're saying 15 to 2% of the U.S. population. I don't know that,
00:11:00 --> 00:11:02 Leonard. That number seems a little to me.
00:11:03 --> 00:11:06 I mean, well, anyway.
00:11:07 --> 00:11:13 This group underscores only the increase, and that's based on the census bill.
00:11:13 --> 00:11:18 So not everybody did the census, so that's probably only the returns they got. You know what I mean?
00:11:20 --> 00:11:26 Not only the increase in the absolute numbers, but also the ongoing diversification
00:11:26 --> 00:11:28 of the American demographic landscape.
00:11:28 --> 00:11:35 These findings directly contradict claims circulating online suggesting a decline
00:11:35 --> 00:11:37 in the black population.
00:11:37 --> 00:11:45 Instead, verified data paints a clear picture of the steady demographics expansion over time.
00:11:46 --> 00:11:51 While data confirms growth, extremist groups have exploited social media platforms,
00:11:51 --> 00:11:56 including X, to push the false narratives about the demographics.
00:11:57 --> 00:12:02 Historically, white supremacists have promoted conspiracy theories like white
00:12:02 --> 00:12:10 genocide and the Great Replacement, which claims increasing diversity threatens white dominance.
00:12:10 --> 00:12:18 These ideals link to the violent incidents such as the 2019 Christchurch mosque attack,
00:12:19 --> 00:12:23 continues to influence extremists' online rhetoric.
00:12:25 --> 00:12:30 Though their focus often targets demographic changes, broadly such narratives
00:12:30 --> 00:12:37 fuel tension around population trends, including those involving Black Americans.
00:12:37 --> 00:12:47 Studies in 2023 and 2024 reported increased extremists' activity on X following
00:12:47 --> 00:12:49 Elon Musk's acquisition.
00:12:49 --> 00:12:57 Pro-Nazi and white nationalists content gain followers aided by the less stringent moderations.
00:12:58 --> 00:13:05 This environment allows coded language and memes to spread demographic conspiracies unchecked.
00:13:05 --> 00:13:07 Now, we know we went through a period of time.
00:13:08 --> 00:13:13 And ironically, if you think about this, all of this happened at the same time.
00:13:14 --> 00:13:20 When Trump got back in the office, Elon, of course, was promoted to the head of Doge.
00:13:21 --> 00:13:26 All of a sudden, Facebook is not fact-checking anymore, and neither is X, right?
00:13:27 --> 00:13:33 And so people were allowed to go in there and put stuff on there that either
00:13:33 --> 00:13:39 was true or not true, but, you know, a lot of it wasn't, and just saying whatever they wanted to say,
00:13:40 --> 00:13:43 you know, on a lot of the social media platforms.
00:13:45 --> 00:13:50 I said, despite its extremist activity online, there is no verifiable evidence
00:13:50 --> 00:13:57 of white supremacists celebrating the decline in the black population as of August 2025.
00:13:58 --> 00:14:04 Instead, most rhetoric remains tied to the general anxieties over diversity
00:14:04 --> 00:14:11 and the projected decrease of non-Hispanic whites to below 50% of the U.S.
00:14:11 --> 00:14:13 Population by 2045.
00:14:15 --> 00:14:24 It says, Generation Alpha born after 2010 is already majority-minority reinforcing
00:14:24 --> 00:14:28 demographic trends that will fuel white supremacist fears.
00:14:28 --> 00:14:37 Past events like the 2017 Charlotte Rally exemplifies these anxieties with chants
00:14:37 --> 00:14:40 such as, you will not replace us,
00:14:40 --> 00:14:43 highlighting resistance to demographic
00:14:43 --> 00:14:47 change rather than targeting Black population numbers specifically.
00:14:48 --> 00:14:56 Excuse me. I'm going to stop here. this story is a little bit alarming to me
00:14:56 --> 00:15:04 because it kind of shows that we still have problems and they're not going away,
00:15:04 --> 00:15:06 for them to,
00:15:08 --> 00:15:13 put in the same story talking about black population,
00:15:14 --> 00:15:22 and the growth of the black population over the last 25 years but then also
00:15:22 --> 00:15:26 having the same story what the supremacists feel,
00:15:26 --> 00:15:33 the white supremacists feel, and why they feel that the numbers are not correct
00:15:33 --> 00:15:40 and so forth, that they feel that they are being outnumbered or being targeted.
00:15:41 --> 00:15:48 You know, it's scary because before when census were taken, it was all about
00:15:48 --> 00:15:51 the numbers. You remember? That's all it was about was the numbers.
00:15:52 --> 00:15:59 Why do we have a Census Bureau? Why do we have Census Bureau statistics that
00:15:59 --> 00:16:06 are coming out talking about the growth of the black population over the last 25 years?
00:16:06 --> 00:16:11 But yet we have racist overtones attached to it.
00:16:12 --> 00:16:20 Where they're trying to suppress or trying to keep us or lie about the numbers
00:16:20 --> 00:16:24 that, you know, the Census Bureau has collected.
00:16:25 --> 00:16:29 And like I said, I really don't feel that all the numbers are there and that
00:16:29 --> 00:16:33 they're trying to keep the numbers low because they want to make sure that they
00:16:33 --> 00:16:36 still, as they say, stay the dominant race.
00:16:37 --> 00:16:40 Make it make sense. We can't.
00:16:41 --> 00:16:51 Ain't no sense to it. I mean, the census is not about black and white people.
00:16:52 --> 00:16:58 You know, we're told the census is being done to help to try to figure out,
00:16:58 --> 00:17:01 you know, who's in this country,
00:17:01 --> 00:17:05 where the needs are, who needs
00:17:05 --> 00:17:09 the most help or what is needed
00:17:09 --> 00:17:13 in order for these people to survive and exist
00:17:13 --> 00:17:21 and so forth it has nothing to do whether we coexist or not so why is that being
00:17:21 --> 00:17:26 the fourth in the forefront of all of this right you know i mean like i said
00:17:26 --> 00:17:30 make it make sense to me When I saw this story, I kind of shook my head.
00:17:31 --> 00:17:36 I was like, I think this might be the very first time that I ever saw a census
00:17:36 --> 00:17:44 report that did more talking about race relations than it did about the actual numbers.
00:17:46 --> 00:17:49 I mean, this is where we are.
00:17:50 --> 00:17:57 Yeah, definitely. And ever since this government has taken over that we have
00:17:57 --> 00:18:03 in place now, you know, I was listening to something on the radio today and they talked about.
00:18:05 --> 00:18:11 How much Donald Trump has made since January.
00:18:12 --> 00:18:15 Do you know what that number is? No, but I feel like I saw it because they had
00:18:15 --> 00:18:18 a couple other people listed. But go ahead.
00:18:18 --> 00:18:20 Well, take a guess. What do you think it is?
00:18:21 --> 00:18:24 $2 billion. $2 million? Billion.
00:18:25 --> 00:18:30 $2 billion. No, he hasn't gotten, well, at least they haven't reported these in the buildings yet.
00:18:30 --> 00:18:34 But he's between $300 million and $400 million right now.
00:18:35 --> 00:18:40 And we're only eight months in, and that's only what they're saying,
00:18:40 --> 00:18:42 you know, it's been reported.
00:18:42 --> 00:18:48 So, Dave, I don't know if you remember, he just came from like Scotland or Finland
00:18:48 --> 00:18:50 where they said he was trying to put a new golf course over there.
00:18:50 --> 00:18:56 So, you're traveling as a president and you're doing your own personal business.
00:18:56 --> 00:19:00 Yes. And keep in mind, all this money is his money.
00:19:00 --> 00:19:04 This is not even about the country. This is the money that Trump has made.
00:19:04 --> 00:19:07 They were talking about this one exclusive club
00:19:07 --> 00:19:10 that his son is running uh-huh the
00:19:10 --> 00:19:14 membership fee is five hundred thousand dollars a person
00:19:14 --> 00:19:17 well dave i mean you you remember what they were charging
00:19:17 --> 00:19:21 people for the green cars wasn't that how much was that again was that five
00:19:21 --> 00:19:25 hundred thousand yeah yeah that was a lot of money too yeah it sure was yeah
00:19:25 --> 00:19:30 so so he's making money and then they were talking about what melania has made
00:19:30 --> 00:19:35 this is outside of what he's made they They were saying that she made like 30 million.
00:19:37 --> 00:19:40 So be nice. So what have we.
00:19:41 --> 00:19:46 Now, I know in all my life, I mean, let me see, how many presidents has it been
00:19:46 --> 00:19:48 since I've been on Earth?
00:19:48 --> 00:19:51 It's been a few. I'll put it that way.
00:19:52 --> 00:19:57 And, you know, some were reelected, but whatever. I don't remember ever hearing
00:19:57 --> 00:20:00 about them making money the way this guy is making money.
00:20:00 --> 00:20:04 Yeah, I agree. You know, I think being president, you are going to,
00:20:05 --> 00:20:07 your net worth is going to rise.
00:20:07 --> 00:20:10 But Dave, how long have you been in there? Six months?
00:20:11 --> 00:20:14 Well it's january since january so
00:20:14 --> 00:20:17 i mean so if we give him what four years he's
00:20:17 --> 00:20:21 gonna make about two billion dollars yeah
00:20:21 --> 00:20:24 he's gonna be a billionaire coming out of there and this
00:20:24 --> 00:20:27 is what makes you know i hate to say it he's
00:20:27 --> 00:20:30 always been a smart guy when it comes to
00:20:30 --> 00:20:33 using other people's money to make money
00:20:33 --> 00:20:37 you know and because you know
00:20:37 --> 00:20:39 how much risk is coming out of his own
00:20:39 --> 00:20:43 pocket for anything that he's doing you know what
00:20:43 --> 00:20:46 i'm saying you know and why is
00:20:46 --> 00:20:48 he so gung-ho on making money as the
00:20:48 --> 00:20:52 president of the united states you get paid a salary yeah
00:20:52 --> 00:20:56 you know i guess that's not enough though whatever
00:20:56 --> 00:21:00 but and you wonder why we have these type
00:21:00 --> 00:21:03 of reports coming out about the population
00:21:03 --> 00:21:06 the black population but yet it's more about
00:21:06 --> 00:21:10 the race the racial overtones about
00:21:10 --> 00:21:14 the report than anything right that
00:21:14 --> 00:21:18 makes sense that makes so sense folks we gotta we need to wake up we need to
00:21:18 --> 00:21:26 pay attention and and these kind of things are really really scary i mean because
00:21:26 --> 00:21:33 you know it's going unchecked and it seems to be the new norm so.
00:21:35 --> 00:21:39 We'll keep an eye on it. I hope you guys keep an eye on it. What are you going to say?
00:21:39 --> 00:21:45 I was going to say that. That leads me into our next story of things going unchecked.
00:21:45 --> 00:21:48 All right. There you go. And leading to the new norm.
00:21:48 --> 00:21:53 There you go. So, of course, for anyone who was kind of watching the news yesterday,
00:21:55 --> 00:21:58 Trump pretty much declared martial law in D.C.
00:21:59 --> 00:22:05 He said that he was deploying 800 National Guard soldiers in the district to
00:22:05 --> 00:22:13 quote unquote, get this, Dave, rescue our nation's capital from crime, bloodshed,
00:22:14 --> 00:22:14 bedlam,
00:22:15 --> 00:22:17 and squalor and worse.
00:22:18 --> 00:22:25 Now, of course, this comes on the backside of the DC Metropolitan Police Department
00:22:25 --> 00:22:31 having statistics saying crime is down, violence is down, pretty much everything is down.
00:22:31 --> 00:22:35 So, you know, of course, Trump, you know, I ignored all that,
00:22:35 --> 00:22:40 but it really going on the pretense that the nation's crime and violence is
00:22:40 --> 00:22:42 at a high rate and it needs to be brought down.
00:22:43 --> 00:22:51 So, of course, these these officers are going to be pretty much patrolling the streets of D.C.
00:22:52 --> 00:23:00 And I guess in their mind trying to rid crime. Yesterday, they touted that they
00:23:00 --> 00:23:04 had already arrested 23 people across the city.
00:23:04 --> 00:23:11 Some were for crimes such as homicide, firearms offense, stalking,
00:23:11 --> 00:23:16 DUI, fair evasion, bench warrants.
00:23:16 --> 00:23:21 They also seized six illegal handguns. And of course, he says this is only the
00:23:21 --> 00:23:25 beginning. Now, Dave, I saw a video on social media.
00:23:25 --> 00:23:31 They literally have these agents walking down the streets, like in groups of
00:23:31 --> 00:23:38 like five to 10, walking down the streets, questioning anything that they think looks suspicious.
00:23:38 --> 00:23:45 And if you can take a random guess, guess who's a majority of the people who look suspicious?
00:23:46 --> 00:23:51 Black people. Of course. So when they put the video out, actually,
00:23:52 --> 00:23:55 and I saw it on Facebook, it's probably on the Twitter page, too.
00:23:55 --> 00:24:00 They had pictures of everybody that they arrested for that first night.
00:24:01 --> 00:24:07 They were all black or Latino, all the pictures, black or Latino.
00:24:08 --> 00:24:14 Now, I will say, I did look at some other videos and there are a lot of black
00:24:14 --> 00:24:17 people who are protesting and a lot of white people who are protesting as well.
00:24:17 --> 00:24:22 Of course, most people are combo protesting Trump and what he's doing.
00:24:23 --> 00:24:25 But I really think it's crazy.
00:24:26 --> 00:24:30 Back in the day, I'm sorry, not even back in the day, The last couple of months,
00:24:30 --> 00:24:34 you know, black people and you and I probably even spoke of it.
00:24:34 --> 00:24:41 We're talking about when they started all these ICE raids and immigration and,
00:24:41 --> 00:24:45 you know, black women sitting it out. This don't got nothing to do with us.
00:24:46 --> 00:24:51 You know, hopefully this is not a byproduct of that, because now and,
00:24:51 --> 00:24:55 you know, we talked about he's like, OK, after after the brown people,
00:24:55 --> 00:24:57 you know, they come up for the black people.
00:24:57 --> 00:25:04 And right now, it looks like a majority of the people that they have here are
00:25:04 --> 00:25:06 the black people who are being specifically targeted.
00:25:07 --> 00:25:08 So what are your thoughts?
00:25:11 --> 00:25:19 You know, he did something similar in L.A. You know, they had them in L.A.
00:25:19 --> 00:25:23 Matter of fact, during the awards season a couple months back,
00:25:23 --> 00:25:28 you know, that's all the people were talking about is how Trump had the MPs
00:25:28 --> 00:25:30 and everything in the streets of L.A.
00:25:31 --> 00:25:35 He talked at D.C. What is D.C.'s nickname?
00:25:36 --> 00:25:39 Chocolate City. Or it was. Yeah, yeah. Yeah.
00:25:39 --> 00:25:47 So if you want to target people who are of other ethnicity other than his,
00:25:47 --> 00:25:54 why not do it there in D.C.? Man, I would hate to be walking down the street.
00:25:54 --> 00:26:03 And first of all, when you see a cop walking or even parked or whatever, what do you try not to do?
00:26:03 --> 00:26:09 Say that one more time. When you see a cop walking towards you or in your area
00:26:09 --> 00:26:17 or sitting in a car parked somewhere or riding right next to you at a stop sign or whatever,
00:26:17 --> 00:26:20 what do you try not to do? Look at him.
00:26:21 --> 00:26:26 Right. Because you've seen too many stories. You've seen too many movies. Right.
00:26:27 --> 00:26:32 And, of course, one thing that it tends to make people do is do something wrong.
00:26:32 --> 00:26:35 You know like take off
00:26:35 --> 00:26:38 too fast or or hit the gas too
00:26:38 --> 00:26:41 hard or bring some attention to yourself for doing
00:26:41 --> 00:26:44 something because you're too busy trying not to
00:26:44 --> 00:26:47 do something you know i've seen it happen way too
00:26:47 --> 00:26:52 many times i remember went uh stopped at a stop sign one time a cop was right
00:26:52 --> 00:26:58 there and i moved you know i i didn't come all the way to a stop but nobody
00:26:58 --> 00:27:05 was coming I rolled a little bit but I saw the cop and I took off I went on
00:27:05 --> 00:27:07 and rolled because nobody was coming.
00:27:08 --> 00:27:11 I get halfway down the road, and all of a sudden, I see the lights flashing.
00:27:11 --> 00:27:14 And I was like, no, he's not getting ready to pull me over.
00:27:15 --> 00:27:18 And he gets out of the car now. Fortunately enough, I will say this,
00:27:19 --> 00:27:21 he was a good guy. I ain't going to lie. He was.
00:27:21 --> 00:27:26 He left. He said. Black or white. He was white. He was white.
00:27:26 --> 00:27:30 He left and said, you know, that wasn't a complete stop, right?
00:27:31 --> 00:27:36 Right? And I said, and I was very honest with him later. You know what I said
00:27:36 --> 00:27:38 to him? I said, you know, you guys make people nervous.
00:27:40 --> 00:27:46 And he said, he said, why do you say that? I said, because when I saw you sitting
00:27:46 --> 00:27:48 there and I looked, though,
00:27:49 --> 00:27:52 and if you looked at me, he said, I said, if you looked at me,
00:27:52 --> 00:27:56 you would have saw my head go back and forth to see if anybody was coming.
00:27:56 --> 00:28:01 And then I kept going. I said, now, you know, you would have done the same exact
00:28:01 --> 00:28:03 thing in that same circumstance. And the cops started laughing.
00:28:04 --> 00:28:07 He said, yeah. Well, he said, I did see you look. I will say that.
00:28:07 --> 00:28:09 He had a clear view of me looking.
00:28:09 --> 00:28:14 Yeah. He said, that's why I'm not going to give you a ticket because he said,
00:28:14 --> 00:28:17 but you can't roll through stop size.
00:28:17 --> 00:28:20 And I said, okay. All right. So I got a good cop.
00:28:21 --> 00:28:26 But it was the fact that I saw him that I didn't stop and I rolled a little
00:28:26 --> 00:28:28 bit. You know what I mean? Well, let me say this.
00:28:29 --> 00:28:31 When you saw him sitting there, were you nervous?
00:28:32 --> 00:28:36 I was a little bit nervous because I didn't see him, you know,
00:28:36 --> 00:28:39 I didn't see him till the last minute till I got to the stop sign. Okay.
00:28:40 --> 00:28:42 Kind of like you were already in mid-roll and then you saw him.
00:28:43 --> 00:28:48 Well, yeah. But I also took the time. And like I said, he saw me looking both
00:28:48 --> 00:28:50 ways to make sure nobody was coming.
00:28:51 --> 00:28:56 And he said that to me. He said, I saw you look. He said, I did see you look.
00:28:56 --> 00:29:01 So that's why I'm not giving you a ticket. But I brought that up just to say
00:29:01 --> 00:29:06 how, you know, just imagine walking in D.C.
00:29:06 --> 00:29:14 Or being on the street, even in your car, and you got cops all around checking you out. Yeah.
00:29:15 --> 00:29:21 And that is something that you definitely don't want to do is make eye contact
00:29:21 --> 00:29:24 with anybody because, you know, they're going to stop you because they're going
00:29:24 --> 00:29:26 to think that you're doing something wrong.
00:29:27 --> 00:29:36 Yeah. But I mean, to be honest, you know, anybody who's white may not be able to relate.
00:29:36 --> 00:29:43 But I think it's average for a black person, especially a black man to have
00:29:43 --> 00:29:51 a certain level of nervousness when there is a cop around or following him behind.
00:29:51 --> 00:29:56 I mean I can say this time, but I've done nothing wrong if there's a cop riding
00:29:56 --> 00:30:01 behind me I'm like, oh shit let me get everything together.
00:30:02 --> 00:30:07 There's still a certain level of nervousness because we know That being a black
00:30:07 --> 00:30:12 person and having all your stuff together does not prevent you from being a
00:30:12 --> 00:30:15 victim of the police, unfortunately.
00:30:16 --> 00:30:20 Yeah, that's true. Yeah, because they can run your tag.
00:30:20 --> 00:30:23 Everything will be all right. But because they see what color you are,
00:30:23 --> 00:30:26 they might want to mess with you and make you do something wrong.
00:30:26 --> 00:30:36 Right. so so for for for that order to be made down there in dc and for trump
00:30:36 --> 00:30:38 to do that there's definitely,
00:30:39 --> 00:30:44 like the last story there's definitely some type of targeting being done and
00:30:44 --> 00:30:49 you know because you always you always see in your head you always see you know
00:30:49 --> 00:30:55 as a couple minorities hispanic black whoever is being arrested you'll see a
00:30:55 --> 00:30:57 white guy walk past walking down.
00:30:58 --> 00:31:01 Watching them get arrested and they got blood in their mouth.
00:31:04 --> 00:31:10 With no fear with no fear yeah that's right but,
00:31:12 --> 00:31:15 This is the world we're in, man. This is how we live in these days.
00:31:16 --> 00:31:17 This is definitely how we live in.
00:31:17 --> 00:31:21 So anything else you want to say about that?
00:31:22 --> 00:31:28 No. I mean, long story short, I'm just curious how it goes because,
00:31:28 --> 00:31:32 you know, I mean, we all, you know,
00:31:33 --> 00:31:39 this seems like targeting when they talk about criminals and hoodlums and,
00:31:39 --> 00:31:40 you know, all that in D.C.
00:31:40 --> 00:31:43 We know they're going to target the black neighborhoods.
00:31:44 --> 00:31:51 The black people are going to be disproportionately contacted and arrested and and all that stuff.
00:31:52 --> 00:31:55 So isn't Ernie down in that area?
00:31:55 --> 00:31:59 Yeah, he is. Luckily, he's outside the city.
00:32:00 --> 00:32:03 Okay. Does he have to go into the city? Does he have to go into the city?
00:32:04 --> 00:32:08 I'm sure he does because he likes to hang out, but, you know, not as much as he used to.
00:32:09 --> 00:32:13 And I'm sure, Dave, just like, you know, like when ICE first started and they
00:32:13 --> 00:32:16 started raiding businesses, I'm sure there are a lot of black people that are
00:32:16 --> 00:32:18 going to just, they're going to go to work.
00:32:18 --> 00:32:21 They're going to go home. They're not going to be hanging out.
00:32:21 --> 00:32:23 You know, they're not going to be sitting on the front step.
00:32:23 --> 00:32:28 But, you know, they're going to kind of, to be honest, hopefully try to wait this out.
00:32:30 --> 00:32:37 I guess we'll see because, you know, they seem to be focused on the wrong thing. They really do.
00:32:38 --> 00:32:41 And if you think about it too, how long do you think this is going to last?
00:32:41 --> 00:32:44 Like, I mean, it doesn't make sense to have the National Guard there for months
00:32:44 --> 00:32:46 and months or weeks and weeks.
00:32:46 --> 00:32:51 So, like, okay, are they going to be there for a hour? I can understand that
00:32:51 --> 00:32:56 they were there because fear of some type of attack or whatever the case may
00:32:56 --> 00:32:58 be happening. But that's not what they're there for.
00:32:59 --> 00:33:02 Are we going back to the 50s and the 60s now? Is that what we're doing?
00:33:03 --> 00:33:07 Yeah. So I don't know.
00:33:07 --> 00:33:11 I'm sure Dr. King is probably turning over in his grave right about now.
00:33:11 --> 00:33:16 So, you know, so, well, I won't even say in his grave. He's looking down from
00:33:16 --> 00:33:20 heaven and say, come on, come on, God, just give me one more opportunity to
00:33:20 --> 00:33:21 get down there. This could be one more opportunity.
00:33:21 --> 00:33:24 I can take you. I can take him. I can take him.
00:33:24 --> 00:33:29 Well they they i mean if you think about it nowadays i feel like we are so divided
00:33:29 --> 00:33:35 would we listen to dr king yeah never mind we ain't gonna go into that that's
00:33:35 --> 00:33:42 a whole another story that's a whole another story yeah but dave let let me ask you who is,
00:33:42 --> 00:33:48 the black leader of our generation like if there had to be a black leader who
00:33:48 --> 00:33:51 could and i mean you're not gonna get everybody because we know how fractured
00:33:51 --> 00:33:57 we are now if there was a black leader right now who was most able to,
00:33:57 --> 00:33:59 in your opinion, who would that be?
00:34:00 --> 00:34:02 The only one that seems not to be scared of anybody right now,
00:34:03 --> 00:34:05 believe it or not, is a woman, Jasmine Crockett.
00:34:06 --> 00:34:12 Okay. I mean, if you think about it, she ain't got no fear. She don't care about them people.
00:34:13 --> 00:34:16 And she's going to do what she wants to do. And she's going to say what she wants to say.
00:34:17 --> 00:34:20 I haven't seen them, and I hate to say it. I mean, you know,
00:34:20 --> 00:34:26 they talked about the Cory Bookers. They've talked about, what's the guy, Moore, Westmoreland?
00:34:27 --> 00:34:31 Westmore, yeah, Maryland. Yeah, so those two guys, you know,
00:34:31 --> 00:34:34 have gotten some, you know, big press lately.
00:34:34 --> 00:34:40 But, I mean, but Jasmine Crockett seems to be the person that has no fear and
00:34:40 --> 00:34:43 will say what she wants to say and will challenge people.
00:34:44 --> 00:34:50 But I'm sure, I'm sure that they would figure out a way to silence her if they had to.
00:34:50 --> 00:34:57 So but that's the only person that I see that I have enough faith in that would probably.
00:34:58 --> 00:35:02 You know, go down, go, she wouldn't, she wouldn't go down without a fight.
00:35:02 --> 00:35:03 I'm going to tell you that. Right.
00:35:04 --> 00:35:09 Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. So, well, I guess we'll see what happens. We'll see what happens.
00:35:10 --> 00:35:12 So, all right, let's move on.
00:35:13 --> 00:35:15 I thought this was an interesting story.
00:35:16 --> 00:35:24 Marty Latchman, a 38-year-old from Milton Keynes in South Carolina,
00:35:24 --> 00:35:28 South Carolina, South Central London,
00:35:28 --> 00:35:38 died last week after he fell ill during the prep stages of a hair transplant
00:35:38 --> 00:35:41 procedure at the popular Dr.
00:35:42 --> 00:35:44 Sinek Clinic, The Guardian reported.
00:35:45 --> 00:35:47 However, according to the clinic,
00:35:47 --> 00:35:52 Latchman did not die as a result of the procedure, according to them.
00:35:53 --> 00:35:57 The procedure had not begun when he became sick.
00:35:57 --> 00:36:01 In a statement, the clinic explained that before Latchman began the procedure,
00:36:02 --> 00:36:05 he underwent all necessary health screenings and was cleared for surgery.
00:36:06 --> 00:36:13 They remained unaware of why he became gravely ill so unexpectedly.
00:36:14 --> 00:36:19 Immediate medical intervention was provided, and he was urgently transferred
00:36:19 --> 00:36:21 to a fully equipped university hospital.
00:36:23 --> 00:36:27 Despite ongoing intensive care treatment throughout the day,
00:36:27 --> 00:36:30 the patient sadly passed away later that evening.
00:36:30 --> 00:36:35 The clinic, whose clients included celebrity athletes,
00:36:36 --> 00:36:43 further added that it is an experienced medical institution that has conducted
00:36:43 --> 00:36:47 more than 70 hair transplant procedures.
00:36:47 --> 00:36:53 The statement added that the clinic is deeply saddened by Latchman's death and
00:36:53 --> 00:36:58 that all relevant medical documents related to the incident have been submitted to the authorities.
00:36:59 --> 00:37:04 Latchman, who was there for second treatment, had a background in both education
00:37:04 --> 00:37:11 and defense and is far from alone in seeking the cosmetic procedure abroad.
00:37:12 --> 00:37:16 Medical tourism has skyrocketed in recent years,
00:37:16 --> 00:37:22 especially for the relatively low stakes cosmetic procedures that can be completed
00:37:22 --> 00:37:28 at an industry standard or a fraction of the cost. Get this.
00:37:28 --> 00:37:33 While the procedure can cost upwards to $7 in the United States,
00:37:34 --> 00:37:42 the procedure in Turkey runs roughly around $1 and $4,
00:37:42 --> 00:37:47 making it a popular destination for many in pursuit of hair.
00:37:47 --> 00:37:53 CVS News reported roughly 100 hair transplants.
00:37:53 --> 00:37:57 Procedures are completed annually in the country.
00:37:58 --> 00:38:03 Beyond sharing that, he died before they had begun, was later transferred to a hospital.
00:38:03 --> 00:38:09 The clinic refrained from giving any more details out and respect privacy for Latchman.
00:38:10 --> 00:38:15 You know, when you hear about stuff like this, you know, of course,
00:38:15 --> 00:38:21 we've heard stories or stories when it comes to going out of the country to get procedures done.
00:38:21 --> 00:38:25 I mean, the first person that probably comes to mind is when Kanye's mother,
00:38:25 --> 00:38:28 you know, had her surgery.
00:38:28 --> 00:38:31 And there's been a few other people as well.
00:38:31 --> 00:38:36 You always got to think what could lead up to that type of situation that a
00:38:36 --> 00:38:42 person would not be able, and if this is true, everything happened prior to the surgery,
00:38:43 --> 00:38:48 not be able to go through with the surgery because of the illness that happened.
00:38:49 --> 00:38:55 I mean, you know, of course, we already know this is not going to go away quietly. Right.
00:38:56 --> 00:39:02 And for them to be able to do the surgery at a fraction of the cost that it would cost here,
00:39:03 --> 00:39:12 I mean, it's just interesting how Western medicine or medicine in other countries, I should say,
00:39:13 --> 00:39:17 have been able to do what they can't seem to do here.
00:39:18 --> 00:39:24 But unfortunately, sometimes we have the complications and the things that happen
00:39:24 --> 00:39:27 that's been happening overseas.
00:39:27 --> 00:39:31 What's your thoughts on all this? You know, this guy goes for a simple,
00:39:31 --> 00:39:36 what seems like a simple procedure, you know, hair transplant.
00:39:36 --> 00:39:40 And we hear about those type of things all the time. But...
00:39:41 --> 00:39:45 Wonder what caused him. I mean, what do you think?
00:39:45 --> 00:39:49 I mean, do you think it's something they did or do you think it's maybe something
00:39:49 --> 00:39:53 that was within his body that might have caused that to happen?
00:39:54 --> 00:39:59 So I'm really not sure. I feel like it's one of the things that we will never know.
00:40:00 --> 00:40:05 But I do hear of a lot of people who will leave the United States for different
00:40:05 --> 00:40:09 procedures just because of the cost. So I know I hear a lot of people going
00:40:09 --> 00:40:11 to Columbia to get like veneers.
00:40:12 --> 00:40:20 Yeah, a lot of people. I have heard a lot of people going to Turkey for different procedures as well.
00:40:20 --> 00:40:27 There was a reality star on one of those like love and hip hop shows and she went to Turkey.
00:40:28 --> 00:40:32 I think it might have been for a BBL, something like that.
00:40:33 --> 00:40:36 And no, no, no, no. It was something with her face. i
00:40:36 --> 00:40:39 think and whatever it was the procedure got botched
00:40:39 --> 00:40:43 and she ended up having
00:40:43 --> 00:40:47 to stay over there a long time to have like reconstructive surgery and stuff
00:40:47 --> 00:40:51 like that so i mean i know it is a thing for people to go you know places to
00:40:51 --> 00:40:55 be cheaper but you know dave at the same time there's people who you know go
00:40:55 --> 00:41:00 to surgeries by well quote-unquote legitimate doctors here in the U.S.
00:41:01 --> 00:41:03 And they have complications and deaths too.
00:41:04 --> 00:41:09 And I remember a couple of years ago, we did a story on a lady who went to Miami
00:41:09 --> 00:41:14 and her friend went with her or something like that. And, you know, she died.
00:41:14 --> 00:41:17 And then also like, you know, coming back and having to tell the family and all that stuff.
00:41:18 --> 00:41:22 So, I mean, I know this is something people do.
00:41:23 --> 00:41:29 And, you know, I don't I feel like we're in a real weird time where the stuff
00:41:29 --> 00:41:33 that people are doing or, let's say,
00:41:33 --> 00:41:40 beauty or physical standards are that, you know, they're not without risk.
00:41:41 --> 00:41:46 And but, you know, so many people like, you know, people get in BBLs,
00:41:47 --> 00:41:52 breast implants, men doing ab like absculpting or absurdering.
00:41:52 --> 00:41:54 We got the hair implants.
00:41:54 --> 00:41:59 Dave, I can't remember if we covered on the show or if it was just outside.
00:41:59 --> 00:42:04 Did you hear about the guy who got leg heightening surgery?
00:42:05 --> 00:42:10 Yeah, we talked about it on the show. Okay, Dave, this guy literally had the
00:42:10 --> 00:42:17 bones in his legs broken, had pins or rods stuck in between,
00:42:17 --> 00:42:19 and then had a heel on top.
00:42:20 --> 00:42:23 He went from 5'7 to 6'1", 4 inches.
00:42:24 --> 00:42:28 But these are the things that, I mean, I can't lie.
00:42:29 --> 00:42:33 I ain't perfect, but I don't see doing any of those.
00:42:34 --> 00:42:38 I'm just not sure. I'm not sure what that looks like to one.
00:42:38 --> 00:42:43 And I mean, not knocking anybody who needs stuff medically, but people who are
00:42:43 --> 00:42:45 just looking for the cosmetic side of it.
00:42:45 --> 00:42:48 I'm not sure what that looks like. I, you know, I just can't relate.
00:42:49 --> 00:42:52 Yeah it's you know it's funny
00:42:52 --> 00:42:55 because you just talked about the guy but for a long time we
00:42:55 --> 00:42:58 used to say a lot of these procedures were you know
00:42:58 --> 00:43:01 mainly women who were doing all the
00:43:01 --> 00:43:04 different procedures but nowadays it's not just women it's men doing
00:43:04 --> 00:43:07 stuff too and this guy
00:43:07 --> 00:43:10 was 38 years old he wasn't an
00:43:10 --> 00:43:12 older guy i mean he was young and you know
00:43:12 --> 00:43:15 38 years old getting his hair getting
00:43:15 --> 00:43:18 a hair transplant i mean i have a friend
00:43:18 --> 00:43:23 who went to who actually moved to
00:43:23 --> 00:43:25 thailand because of a surgery that
00:43:25 --> 00:43:29 was going to cost 36 000 here that
00:43:29 --> 00:43:34 ended up costing her 1500 dollars in thailand so you
00:43:34 --> 00:43:38 know you know it's understand why
00:43:38 --> 00:43:41 people people do some of
00:43:41 --> 00:43:44 these things because of the cost and right now of course with the bbls and
00:43:44 --> 00:43:47 the breast implants and some
00:43:47 --> 00:43:50 of the other things that they're doing the sculpting the
00:43:50 --> 00:43:55 sculpturing the stomach of the stomach and whatever because when you see some
00:43:55 --> 00:43:59 of these people with these abs you know you'd be like okay something don't look
00:43:59 --> 00:44:03 right there you know what i mean you know and they're trying to build a six-pack
00:44:03 --> 00:44:08 and all of this kind of stuff instead of going into the gym and really doing it you know so um.
00:44:09 --> 00:44:14 But that's what people are doing nowadays, man. But you got to consider who
00:44:14 --> 00:44:16 you are. You got to consider your health.
00:44:17 --> 00:44:21 And even though this person probably didn't have no idea, you know,
00:44:21 --> 00:44:25 that they wasn't prepared to do this surgery according to what's being said,
00:44:26 --> 00:44:29 because we still don't know the whole story.
00:44:30 --> 00:44:39 So you know so you know you know rest in you know I want to say rest in peace peace to Mr.
00:44:39 --> 00:44:44 Latchman and unfortunately that happened to him but you know hopefully people
00:44:44 --> 00:44:50 are just taking the time to do all the research that's necessary before doing these procedures,
00:44:51 --> 00:44:57 and just making sure you know if this is really what they want to do right you
00:44:57 --> 00:45:03 know you know And when you look at the influencers that we see on Instagram and TikTok,
00:45:04 --> 00:45:08 you know, there's a lot of pressure to look a certain way these days.
00:45:10 --> 00:45:14 And people are willing to do it. You know, they get the money together and they're
00:45:14 --> 00:45:16 willing to spend the money to be able to do it.
00:45:16 --> 00:45:19 And you just got to be wise about it.
00:45:19 --> 00:45:28 You really do. So, hopefully the story will help to heighten people's awareness
00:45:28 --> 00:45:34 before they do surgeries that they may not need to do. Right. Okay.
00:45:35 --> 00:45:40 All right. That brings us to our next story.
00:45:40 --> 00:45:49 Eagles running back Saquon Barkley declines the invitation to join Trump's sports
00:45:49 --> 00:45:51 council. Are you familiar with the Sports Council, by the way,
00:45:51 --> 00:45:54 Lenny? No, I'm not. Okay.
00:45:55 --> 00:46:02 So Trump has gotten together, a group of former athletes together to help him
00:46:02 --> 00:46:05 with doing a bunch of different things.
00:46:05 --> 00:46:07 I'm going to read a little bit about what he's doing.
00:46:08 --> 00:46:14 So, Saquon Barkley has declined the invitation to join President Trump's Council on Sports,
00:46:14 --> 00:46:19 Fitness, and Nutrition, which is being revitalized under an executive order
00:46:19 --> 00:46:24 that also reestablishes the presidential fitness test for American children.
00:46:24 --> 00:46:28 Do you remember when they used to have that all the time? No, I don't.
00:46:29 --> 00:46:32 When I was coming up, that was a big thing with all the presidents.
00:46:32 --> 00:46:34 They used to have this test.
00:46:35 --> 00:46:38 But it kind of disappeared over the last few years.
00:46:38 --> 00:46:43 In the last few regimes, I should say, but they're bringing it back.
00:46:43 --> 00:46:49 So Barkley, who was the 2-yard rusher for the Super Bowl champion,
00:46:49 --> 00:46:52 Philadelphia Eagles, hopes there are some Cowboy fans and risk,
00:46:53 --> 00:46:55 I mean, Commander fans listening,
00:46:56 --> 00:47:03 was on the list of sports personalities that included golfers Bryson Chamblough.
00:47:04 --> 00:47:11 Nelly Korda, WWE Executive President, Triple H, Football Hall of Famer Lawrence
00:47:11 --> 00:47:17 Taylor, and retired New York Yankees great Mariano Rivera.
00:47:18 --> 00:47:22 A couple months ago, it was brought to my attention about the council,
00:47:22 --> 00:47:26 Barkley said, so I'm not really too familiar with it.
00:47:26 --> 00:47:32 I felt like that was going to be super busy, and my family thought it would
00:47:32 --> 00:47:36 probably be of best interest not to accept it.
00:47:36 --> 00:47:41 But I was definitely a little shocked when my name was mentioned.
00:47:42 --> 00:47:48 I'm assuming it's something great, so I appreciate it, but was a little shocked
00:47:48 --> 00:47:49 when my name was mentioned.
00:47:50 --> 00:47:54 Trump's last week, which was a week before, about 10 days ago,
00:47:54 --> 00:47:59 reestablished the president's physical fitness test for American children.
00:48:00 --> 00:48:06 And that gauge young people's health and athleticism with a one-mile run.
00:48:06 --> 00:48:07 This will be right up your alley, Leonard.
00:48:08 --> 00:48:13 A one-mile run. Used to be. Used to be. I'm lazy now. Okay.
00:48:14 --> 00:48:17 Sit-ups and stretching exercises.
00:48:18 --> 00:48:22 Let me see. He said Barkley has golfed with Trump and former President Barack
00:48:22 --> 00:48:25 Obama over the last year, and the
00:48:25 --> 00:48:29 running back attended the White House celebration of the champion Eagles.
00:48:29 --> 00:48:36 With some teammates, notably star quarterback Jalen Hurts, skipped the ceremony.
00:48:37 --> 00:48:41 Barkley visited Trump in April at the Trump National Golf Course,
00:48:43 --> 00:48:47 in New Jersey and caught a ride with the president to Washington on Air Force
00:48:47 --> 00:48:50 One and then to the White House on Marine One.
00:48:51 --> 00:48:53 Trump said, oh, he loved it.
00:48:55 --> 00:48:59 Come on, Trump is saying Trump loved it or Trump is saying Barkley loved it?
00:48:59 --> 00:49:01 No, Barkley loved it, yeah.
00:49:02 --> 00:49:05 But I don't know if you remember when all that happened because Barkley got
00:49:05 --> 00:49:07 some pushback on social media.
00:49:07 --> 00:49:11 Oh, yeah, I know. Remember, they saw pictures of him and Trump together.
00:49:11 --> 00:49:15 He noted that he had already golfed with Obama see a lot of people didn't know
00:49:15 --> 00:49:22 that and maybe I just respect the office not a hard concept to understand has
00:49:22 --> 00:49:26 nothing to do with who's in the office so,
00:49:27 --> 00:49:32 I'm sure Barkley thought to himself nah
00:49:32 --> 00:49:38 I better not do this you know because people in Lawrence Taylor they showed
00:49:38 --> 00:49:43 him accepting in the position and man the comments were mean man i'm telling
00:49:43 --> 00:49:47 you when people still started talking everybody all the comments was calling
00:49:47 --> 00:49:49 them my uncle tom and all kinds of stuff man,
00:49:50 --> 00:49:55 and then they were saying and and you hear taylor say i'm not sure what this
00:49:55 --> 00:50:00 is but i'm honored to be a part of it and you know and everybody's up there
00:50:00 --> 00:50:04 saying so you're joining something you don't even know what it's about just
00:50:04 --> 00:50:08 because trump asked you to do it think about it right now,
00:50:09 --> 00:50:16 and he said and so I remember there was one comment that said take a look at these guys.
00:50:17 --> 00:50:20 They also, Trump also asked them to join certain things.
00:50:20 --> 00:50:24 He's talking about Tim Scott, Herston Walker, all these guys that you don't
00:50:24 --> 00:50:26 see nowhere around anymore, right?
00:50:27 --> 00:50:30 You know, he said, do you see them anywhere now?
00:50:30 --> 00:50:38 No, you don't. You know, so Saquon probably, I'm sure some people got in Saquon's
00:50:38 --> 00:50:40 ear and said, nah, man. Oh, yeah, I'm sure.
00:50:40 --> 00:50:45 And, you know, even though Philly loves Saquon Barkley, I'm sure they got on.
00:50:45 --> 00:50:47 I'm sure there were comments and
00:50:47 --> 00:50:52 all that Yeah, yeah Just imagine what his teammates were saying to him Man.
00:50:54 --> 00:50:57 You remember all that stuff they said about you when you were out there playing
00:50:57 --> 00:51:02 golf with him This will be worse I guarantee you this will be worse So,
00:51:02 --> 00:51:04 you know, so No, you don't need, you know,
00:51:05 --> 00:51:10 Saquon, we got football season in a few weeks You need to be worried about First
00:51:10 --> 00:51:14 game Thursday night Dallas, let's go So, alright Right.
00:51:15 --> 00:51:20 So so that was a good look for him not to accept that position, you know,
00:51:21 --> 00:51:25 and I don't know what Trump is up to with the collection of people that he's
00:51:25 --> 00:51:30 bringing together, because I'm sure there's a reason for the names that he that
00:51:30 --> 00:51:32 he's talking about. So we'll see.
00:51:33 --> 00:51:39 Any comments or any other comments about it? No, I mean, I think he learned
00:51:39 --> 00:51:41 his lesson and he's trying not to backtrack.
00:51:41 --> 00:51:43 Yeah, I'm sure. I'm sure.
00:51:44 --> 00:51:47 I'm sure. Boom. You know, good move, Trump.
00:51:49 --> 00:51:52 That was a backward leap over Trump just then.
00:51:55 --> 00:52:01 All right. Well, that brings us to Leonard's favorite part of the show, Dave's Corner.
00:52:01 --> 00:52:04 He loves this section, you know, this segment, by the way, people.
00:52:05 --> 00:52:10 So I try to keep things interesting and make sure that he is invested in the,
00:52:11 --> 00:52:15 section that we bring up every week at the end of the show.
00:52:15 --> 00:52:17 Here we go with Dave's question today.
00:52:19 --> 00:52:22 Which turns into a couple of questions. I purposely didn't let you see what
00:52:22 --> 00:52:26 the questions were, so you can react naturally on these questions.
00:52:27 --> 00:52:30 So, but it's what would you rather questions.
00:52:31 --> 00:52:36 You and I have done these in the past, so I got a few of them for you just to
00:52:36 --> 00:52:37 see what you're going to say.
00:52:37 --> 00:52:41 Okay, you ready? You game? Game. Okay.
00:52:41 --> 00:52:51 Would you rather oversleep every day for a week or not get any sleep at all for four days?
00:52:52 --> 00:52:54 Dave, that's not even a question. I'd rather oversleep.
00:52:57 --> 00:53:00 What about you? I'm definitely going to oversleep.
00:53:02 --> 00:53:06 If I don't sleep before a day, I'm no good. I'm going to tell you that now.
00:53:06 --> 00:53:11 Me neither. yeah even if i could sleep all day that fifth day i'm still not
00:53:11 --> 00:53:13 gonna be any good so you know so,
00:53:13 --> 00:53:16 and you know you ain't gonna sleep all day because you gotta get up and have
00:53:16 --> 00:53:21 bathroom breaks you're gonna need a catheter tied to you so whatever all right
00:53:21 --> 00:53:31 number number two here would you rather have the ability to be invisible or read people's minds.
00:53:34 --> 00:53:39 I think there's nothing like being invisible because being invisible if you're
00:53:39 --> 00:53:44 in the right room forget reading their minds you can hear what they say,
00:53:45 --> 00:53:49 reading their minds is what it is but also being able to hear what they say
00:53:49 --> 00:53:51 if they can't see you so I'm going to be invisible.
00:53:54 --> 00:53:58 What about you? I think I would rather read minds because I'm going to find
00:53:58 --> 00:54:05 out some things Maybe some things that might lead to some money You know what I mean? So,
00:54:06 --> 00:54:10 Because what if they about to make a major investment that they know is going
00:54:10 --> 00:54:13 to make a bunch of money and so forth, you know, and you say,
00:54:13 --> 00:54:14 oh, I got to get in on this.
00:54:14 --> 00:54:17 I got to make sure I get some money in on this or whatever the case may be.
00:54:18 --> 00:54:25 Yeah, I'd rather be able to read mine, I think. So the invisibility, not a bad thing.
00:54:25 --> 00:54:28 Speaking of that, I did see the Fantastic Four.
00:54:28 --> 00:54:34 I did. Yeah. So I mean, I hear no thumbs up. So I guess.
00:54:34 --> 00:54:40 I'll give it four out of five. Okay. I think they were smart about how they
00:54:40 --> 00:54:42 approached this one. Okay.
00:54:43 --> 00:54:46 Instead of trying to recreate the real will that they tried to do with the first,
00:54:46 --> 00:54:48 even though I liked the cast from the first one.
00:54:49 --> 00:54:54 That was a good cast, but bringing up Invisibility made me think about that.
00:54:54 --> 00:54:56 So if you get a chance to check it out, let me know.
00:54:56 --> 00:55:00 Okay. Well, Dave, I'll probably wait until it's on Tubi. Yeah.
00:55:02 --> 00:55:09 Okay. Number three, would you rather get a dollar every time you compliment
00:55:09 --> 00:55:15 a stranger or a hundred dollars every time you insult a stranger?
00:55:16 --> 00:55:23 I mean, they say a dollar for a compliment. Would you rather get dollars for an insult?
00:55:24 --> 00:55:28 Now, think about who you are because that's what comes into play. I get it.
00:55:29 --> 00:55:33 The question is, do they have to know they're insulted?
00:55:35 --> 00:55:38 I'm sure. They're going to have to know. You're going to have to say something
00:55:38 --> 00:55:40 that's going to make them feel insulted. Yes.
00:55:40 --> 00:55:44 Yeah, I mean, I'm just thinking if I walk up to a... You walk up to somebody
00:55:44 --> 00:55:46 and say you're ugly. They know they're insulted. Yeah, yeah, yeah.
00:55:47 --> 00:55:51 But, I mean, if I walk up to some old man, I'm like, oh, man,
00:55:52 --> 00:55:55 you're looking kind of dapper. You out here looking like Beetlejuice.
00:55:55 --> 00:55:59 You know, they may not.
00:55:59 --> 00:56:01 Anyway, long story short, I'll go with the compliments because,
00:56:02 --> 00:56:06 you know, I don't got time to just be insulting people out on these streets.
00:56:06 --> 00:56:08 These people are crazy out here.
00:56:08 --> 00:56:11 Yeah. Well, you know, the new generation, they're going to say the insults.
00:56:12 --> 00:56:13 You know that already, right?
00:56:13 --> 00:56:17 Yeah, because they figured they had to insult 100 people to get $100.
00:56:18 --> 00:56:22 You know, you can do that with one person.
00:56:22 --> 00:56:27 Oh, yeah. Yep. Yeah, they're going to go for the money, I can guarantee.
00:56:27 --> 00:56:33 You and I think I would have to do the dollar for every compliment. Right, I agree.
00:56:34 --> 00:56:38 Number four here. Would you rather get...
00:56:38 --> 00:56:43 Oh, wait. Oh, man, I copied that one twice. I am so sorry. We're going to go
00:56:43 --> 00:56:46 to number... What in the world happened?
00:56:47 --> 00:56:53 Oh, you know what? For some reason, somehow, copy the same question.
00:56:53 --> 00:56:56 A few times, but I did have one more.
00:56:56 --> 00:57:05 Would you rather be fast like the Flash or super strong like Superman?
00:57:06 --> 00:57:12 In today's world, that is, think about it. Which one do you think comes in more handy?
00:57:13 --> 00:57:16 Probably being fast like the flash. Yeah.
00:57:17 --> 00:57:22 You know, so I mean, I always, in my mind, I'm always thinking there's not enough time in the day.
00:57:22 --> 00:57:27 But if I'm moving at the speed of light or sound or whatever,
00:57:27 --> 00:57:31 that definitely opens up more time. Forget traffic.
00:57:32 --> 00:57:36 Okay. What about you? Flash or Superman?
00:57:37 --> 00:57:44 I think I would rather be fast as well. because, I mean, especially,
00:57:45 --> 00:57:50 like you said, with traffic, I mean, they talked about the Eagles practice the other day.
00:57:50 --> 00:57:54 Did you hear about how the traffic was just tied up in knots in Philly because
00:57:54 --> 00:57:55 Chris Brown was up there too?
00:57:56 --> 00:58:03 Oh, no, I didn't. Yeah, and they had 45 people to show up at the practice alone.
00:58:03 --> 00:58:07 So, yeah, Tim was up there. Yeah, Tim was up there too.
00:58:07 --> 00:58:13 So so when you think about it if you had the ability to be like the flash and
00:58:13 --> 00:58:18 be able to be fast you can get all around that traffic and and get to where
00:58:18 --> 00:58:22 you need to get to be in your seats before everybody got there you know that
00:58:22 --> 00:58:25 life is growing you know yeah being super strong.
00:58:25 --> 00:58:30 What purpose does it really serve in today's society to be super strong i mean
00:58:30 --> 00:58:36 not unless you're going to be like a boxer a fighter yeah i mean like i mean
00:58:36 --> 00:58:40 granted you could be super strong be a fighter make all the money in the world
00:58:40 --> 00:58:43 yeah but does it really benefit you because,
00:58:44 --> 00:58:52 you're going to spend all your time trying to control your power so that it don't look obvious,
00:58:53 --> 00:58:58 while you're knocking people out you know what i mean i mean maybe yeah i mean
00:58:58 --> 00:59:03 are you guys spend all your time trying to control your speed so that uh well
00:59:03 --> 00:59:07 i guess if you flash they may not even they may just feel a gust of wind or
00:59:07 --> 00:59:10 something yeah because they don't have to see you
00:59:10 --> 00:59:16 know what i mean you know all they're gonna feel is you going by so i would
00:59:16 --> 00:59:21 definitely take super speed i would definitely take super speed uh so they let
00:59:21 --> 00:59:23 let me find out you've copied all my answers.
00:59:24 --> 00:59:29 Every last one of them. Okay. Well, I mean, it makes, sometimes you make sense.
00:59:30 --> 00:59:34 Sometimes, not all the time, but sometimes, but I will ask you this.
00:59:35 --> 00:59:43 I will ask you this one more. Would you rather have a candy apple red Mercedes
00:59:43 --> 00:59:49 or a all white on white Mercedes?
00:59:50 --> 00:59:53 So I would never drive a red car.
00:59:54 --> 00:59:57 So you can definitely give me the
00:59:57 --> 01:00:00 white that ain't gonna happen
01:00:00 --> 01:00:03 huh nah it's not what's the reason why
01:00:03 --> 01:00:06 not driving your car man so you know i'm more
01:00:06 --> 01:00:11 of a low-key person and i feel like red is such a bright color they also said
01:00:11 --> 01:00:16 red cars get pulled over more than other cars they are targeted yeah they are
01:00:16 --> 01:00:24 targeted yeah and and you know i'm like even my dress my dress not to say I wear a lot of white,
01:00:25 --> 01:00:29 but you know, I'm more of a, you know, low key, like give me a black car,
01:00:29 --> 01:00:31 give me a great dark gray.
01:00:31 --> 01:00:36 But I do like that white look on vehicle that are like clean white.
01:00:37 --> 01:00:41 Yeah. So, and I, and I don't know if you remember the vehicle before I had now
01:00:41 --> 01:00:45 when I bought it, I thought it was white until I pulled up next to a white car.
01:00:45 --> 01:00:47 And then I was like, Oh man, this car is cream.
01:00:49 --> 01:00:57 Yeah, yeah, yeah. Well, I remember I had a white BMW, and I had a white Bonneville.
01:00:57 --> 01:00:59 Those are the only two white cars I ever had.
01:01:00 --> 01:01:06 And yeah, when they're clean, they have nice open vehicles. The problem is keeping
01:01:06 --> 01:01:08 them clean. That was the issue.
01:01:08 --> 01:01:14 Yeah, you know, so I remember I was married at the time, and this was when the
01:01:14 --> 01:01:19 Mercury Lynx were real popular. You remember the Mercury Lynx? Nope.
01:01:20 --> 01:01:24 Okay. Well, they were sort of a run-around town car, very popular.
01:01:26 --> 01:01:27 They were...
01:01:28 --> 01:01:32 There was a bunch of them. They were like, remember how the Pintos used to be?
01:01:32 --> 01:01:33 Ford Pinto used to always be around.
01:01:34 --> 01:01:37 Chevy Pinto, I mean. Well, the Lynx was sort of like that.
01:01:37 --> 01:01:43 It was a lot of them on the street. And I remember getting one for my ex, and it was red.
01:01:45 --> 01:01:49 And I just remember if I ever drove that car anywhere I went,
01:01:49 --> 01:01:53 it just seemed like people were able to spot me.
01:01:53 --> 01:01:55 You know what I mean? And I just,
01:01:55 --> 01:01:59 you know, I wouldn't drive it because it was, it is. too easy to spot.
01:01:59 --> 01:02:04 Red cars and red people and red cars, definitely.
01:02:05 --> 01:02:11 You're asking for the attention. That's just like our buddy in our neighborhood
01:02:11 --> 01:02:13 with the green, metallic green car.
01:02:14 --> 01:02:19 And I saw, there's another one now I've been seeing over the last couple days
01:02:19 --> 01:02:22 or so that has a silver one, a silver BMW.
01:02:22 --> 01:02:25 Oh, wow. Metallic silver as well? Yeah.
01:02:25 --> 01:02:28 I tried to get a picture of it the other day and it said to you,
01:02:28 --> 01:02:30 I said, uh-oh, we got another one.
01:02:30 --> 01:02:37 You know, so, yeah. So, now you're asking for attention when you do those metallic colors.
01:02:37 --> 01:02:42 Yes, you are. All the attention. Please have your registration up to date,
01:02:42 --> 01:02:43 your insurance, license.
01:02:44 --> 01:02:48 Don't be smoking, drinking. And they got tinted windows.
01:02:49 --> 01:02:54 Like deep tint? Well, you can't see in them. Mm-hmm. Why would you do that?
01:02:56 --> 01:03:04 I mean I don't know Dave they must not be black okay.
01:03:06 --> 01:03:12 Well, no comment. That's all I'm going to say, no comment.
01:03:14 --> 01:03:18 But, hey, what can you say? Speaking of that, I'm just going to say this last
01:03:18 --> 01:03:19 thing that we're going to jump off.
01:03:20 --> 01:03:25 I heard the day. Did you hear about all the new dispensaries that opened up in Wilmington?
01:03:26 --> 01:03:28 Yeah, 13. Well, you mean the state of Delaware?
01:03:29 --> 01:03:32 Well, in Wilmington. I'm just talking about the ones in Wilmington right now.
01:03:33 --> 01:03:37 There's eight of them. I think they said eight of them opened in Wilmington.
01:03:37 --> 01:03:41 So they didn't really open. They were already medical dispensaries.
01:03:41 --> 01:03:45 They're the first ones that are allowed to do the legal.
01:03:46 --> 01:03:46 Right.
01:03:47 --> 01:03:53 So I heard, I don't know how official this number is, that after the first week
01:03:53 --> 01:03:57 that they were able to sell legally, other than being medical,
01:03:57 --> 01:03:59 they did a million dollars?
01:04:00 --> 01:04:05 Yeah, I heard that for the state. But, I mean, I'm not sure. but yes.
01:04:05 --> 01:04:07 So was that from the state or was that, yeah.
01:04:09 --> 01:04:16 Man, that's a big business, Leonard. It is. Yeah. But hearing that none of the owners look like us.
01:04:17 --> 01:04:21 That is correct. Okay. All right. Okay.
01:04:22 --> 01:04:25 Yeah. Well, we'll see how long that lasts.
01:04:28 --> 01:04:32 That's a big business, though. No, I mean, it definitely is.
01:04:32 --> 01:04:34 But I'm sure it comes with a lot of headaches.
01:04:35 --> 01:04:42 Yeah, I'm sure that regulation is tough. And security and all of that kind of stuff.
01:04:43 --> 01:04:45 Because you definitely have to...
01:04:46 --> 01:04:54 He definitely had to have top-notch security, cameras, all kinds of stuff going on, man.
01:04:56 --> 01:04:59 But yeah, I heard that today. I meant to say something to you earlier about
01:04:59 --> 01:05:01 it. I just said, wow, that's interesting.
01:05:05 --> 01:05:08 But if you hear about me and Leonard going into the dispensary business,
01:05:10 --> 01:05:12 you know why. Please support.
01:05:12 --> 01:05:14 Yeah, please come see us.
01:05:15 --> 01:05:19 You know so but anyway well that's
01:05:19 --> 01:05:22 our show for the day we we want to thank
