00:01:35 --> 00:01:38 I'm hanging out with my partner, Mr. Leonard Young. What's going on, sir?
00:01:39 --> 00:01:44 Hey, Dave. Everything is good. This is Leonard Young, CEO of National Black
00:01:44 --> 00:01:50 Guide, DelawareBlack.com, black media specialist, all-around good guy. How goes it, Dave?
00:01:50 --> 00:01:56 Well, it's gone as we try to fall out from the blizzard of 2026.
00:01:58 --> 00:02:05 So it looks like the pattern maintained after we talked about it last week,
00:02:05 --> 00:02:16 about the snow and how we get snow every 10 years when the year ends in the number six.
00:02:18 --> 00:02:22 1996, 2006, 2016, and here we are in 2026.
00:02:23 --> 00:02:26 So, Dave, you know you actually jinxed us. Oh.
00:02:27 --> 00:02:33 I had a feeling we were going to get a decent one, but then you started talking about the sixes.
00:02:34 --> 00:02:38 Yeah, yeah, and it actually held true. And not only did we get it,
00:02:38 --> 00:02:42 man, man, the East Coast got hit, period, man.
00:02:42 --> 00:02:47 Did you see what happened down there in North Carolina and down in the Carolina?
00:02:47 --> 00:02:49 Oh, yeah, Charlotte area.
00:02:49 --> 00:02:52 Yeah, yeah, man. They got 15 inches down there.
00:02:53 --> 00:02:54 You know, it looked like up this
00:02:54 --> 00:02:59 way. It looked like they were living up here, you know. I know, I know.
00:03:00 --> 00:03:03 But the weather's been strange all over. I'm telling you people,
00:03:03 --> 00:03:07 if you don't know about global warming, you better read up about it.
00:03:07 --> 00:03:09 Because there's some strange stuff going on.
00:03:10 --> 00:03:14 And you know what I found so interesting about the snow this time around?
00:03:14 --> 00:03:23 Have you ever not seen the state not take care of cleaning and shoveling and
00:03:23 --> 00:03:24 all that stuff to schools?
00:03:25 --> 00:03:29 I mean, it was a little weird. It's almost like everyone said, not my problem.
00:03:30 --> 00:03:34 Yeah, it was, it was the weird, I don't think I've ever seen that before.
00:03:34 --> 00:03:41 They let a whole week go by before they did anything about shoveling the sidewalks
00:03:41 --> 00:03:42 and everything for the schools.
00:03:43 --> 00:03:46 No wonder they didn't have, and of course the schools here in Delaware didn't
00:03:46 --> 00:03:51 have school the whole week until, up until yesterday.
00:03:51 --> 00:03:57 And, you know, and they worked over the weekend because I saw the little,
00:03:57 --> 00:04:02 you know, caterpillars and dump trucks and all kinds of stuff out over the weekend
00:04:02 --> 00:04:06 at these schools digging and so forth. It was crazy.
00:04:06 --> 00:04:09 Yeah. I'd never seen that before. Wow.
00:04:10 --> 00:04:14 But I guess they, you know, we haven't had a snow like this in a long time either.
00:04:15 --> 00:04:20 So, and this snow was, what it is so interesting Because if you didn't go out
00:04:20 --> 00:04:27 that day after the snow and get your stuff cleared, it turned to ice right away.
00:04:28 --> 00:04:31 Yeah. You know, that wasn't no soft snow. That wasn't no soft snow.
00:04:32 --> 00:04:36 Yeah, well, you know, it was that freezing rain that came on top of the snow
00:04:36 --> 00:04:40 that just kind of put the nail in the coffin. Yeah.
00:04:40 --> 00:04:44 Yeah, yeah, that's true. That's true. It was a mess, I'm telling you.
00:04:44 --> 00:04:50 But hopefully everybody was safe and, you know, I mean, you could slide out
00:04:50 --> 00:04:53 there because it definitely was ice out there.
00:04:53 --> 00:04:58 So, and hopefully those people down south who are not used to seeing snow this
00:04:58 --> 00:05:02 time of year, hopefully you guys will be safe and careful out there.
00:05:02 --> 00:05:06 A friend of mine had these icicles. You've seen her house.
00:05:07 --> 00:05:11 This is Charlotte. But she had an icicle, Leonard, as tall as you are,
00:05:11 --> 00:05:14 coming from the roof of her house. Oh, wow.
00:05:14 --> 00:05:19 And, I mean, it wasn't just one or two. It was, like, all across the roof. A lot.
00:05:19 --> 00:05:24 And it was almost like you were scared to walk outside your door because it
00:05:24 --> 00:05:27 looked like if one of those things fell, it was going to kill you. Good.
00:05:27 --> 00:05:32 All right, Dave. Well, since you mentioned that, I got a brief piece of trivia
00:05:32 --> 00:05:35 for you. Okay, here we go.
00:05:35 --> 00:05:40 Okay. Okay, so the ice that was hanging off of her house, correct? Yeah.
00:05:41 --> 00:05:47 Was that a stalactite shape or a stalagmite shape?
00:05:47 --> 00:05:54 I think it was a stalactite. Okay, all right. So just hold on one second while I see it.
00:05:55 --> 00:05:57 As he Googles the answer to find out what it is, okay.
00:05:59 --> 00:06:02 All right, and you said you think it was a stalactite, right?
00:06:02 --> 00:06:04 The first one, the first one, yes. Okay.
00:06:05 --> 00:06:08 Okay, the Jeopardy music going off in my head right now. Okay.
00:06:10 --> 00:06:15 All right, so it was a stalactite. Yeah, that's what I said.
00:06:16 --> 00:06:21 All right, all right. I mean, it was a 50-50 chance. Oh, my God, here we go.
00:06:21 --> 00:06:25 I remember reading about those in school, so that's, yeah.
00:06:25 --> 00:06:28 And I remember they were the ones that hung down like that, so,
00:06:28 --> 00:06:31 yeah. Okay, so, Dave, you remember that from 50, 60 years ago?
00:06:31 --> 00:06:33 That's what you're trying to say? Wow.
00:06:33 --> 00:06:36 Okay, anyway. all right uh well actually
00:06:36 --> 00:06:40 it hasn't been that long i'm gonna pick up it i just thought about that yeah
00:06:40 --> 00:06:45 look in two years i've been out of i've been out of high school in two years
00:06:45 --> 00:06:52 50 years wow wow that's crazy that is crazy right that is that is crazy yeah
00:06:52 --> 00:06:54 yeah it's uh wow but anyway.
00:06:59 --> 00:07:05 Anyway, no comment. But other than that, everything else is good.
00:07:05 --> 00:07:11 Yeah, Dave, I mean, no complaints. I can say I'm looking forward to this spring, whatever it looks like.
00:07:11 --> 00:07:14 Of course, I'm excited for Black History Month.
00:07:15 --> 00:07:20 I do want to mention, and I thought it was fitting, but, and I think,
00:07:20 --> 00:07:24 okay, so yesterday, yesterday was the second, right? Sunday was the first?
00:07:25 --> 00:07:28 Yesterday was the second. And punk to Tony Phil, soul is shadow.
00:07:29 --> 00:07:30 So we got six more weeks of winning.
00:07:30 --> 00:07:34 So I believe I have my days correct.
00:07:34 --> 00:07:38 But on February 1st, Sunday,
00:07:39 --> 00:07:47 Delaware State, their inaugural women's wrestling team, had their first home
00:07:47 --> 00:07:50 match, in which I believe they won.
00:07:50 --> 00:07:56 But, you know, of course, Delaware State, they are the first HBCU in the nation,
00:07:57 --> 00:08:02 and I guess the first HBCU in the world, to have a women's wrestling team.
00:08:02 --> 00:08:08 So I think it was kind of cool that they had their first home wrestling meet
00:08:08 --> 00:08:11 on Sunday, February 1st.
00:08:11 --> 00:08:15 And I believe they won the competition versus the other school,
00:08:15 --> 00:08:20 which I don't even know what the name is. but I saw some clips and they,
00:08:20 --> 00:08:22 it definitely looked official.
00:08:22 --> 00:08:25 You know how sometimes you think of wrestling matches, you know,
00:08:25 --> 00:08:29 people probably being quiet and you know, kind of watching the wrestling and
00:08:29 --> 00:08:31 then maybe cheering matches over?
00:08:31 --> 00:08:35 It was hype up in there. Yeah, this one was hype. It almost looked like,
00:08:36 --> 00:08:43 I'll compare it to, you know, if you went to an Eagles game and the Eagles scored a touchdown. Yeah.
00:08:44 --> 00:08:49 Did they have cheerleaders and everything too? I mean, they didn't have no cheerleaders,
00:08:49 --> 00:08:51 but it was definitely festive.
00:08:52 --> 00:08:56 So I'd like to congratulate them because even if they did not win,
00:08:56 --> 00:08:59 and I think they did, it was just a great look, a good showing.
00:09:00 --> 00:09:03 I wish I had thought about it prior because maybe I would have tried to go in
00:09:03 --> 00:09:05 person. I wouldn't really do anything on Sunday.
00:09:05 --> 00:09:09 But, you know, in fact, maybe we need to take a look and make it down to one
00:09:09 --> 00:09:14 of those next home wrestling meets that they have at Delaware State University.
00:09:14 --> 00:09:16 We'll see if you can get the schedule. Yeah.
00:09:17 --> 00:09:24 All right. But that's a great and, of course, perfect timing for Black History Month and everything.
00:09:24 --> 00:09:29 So, you know, what a way to start out the month as far as Black History Month
00:09:29 --> 00:09:32 is concerned. And right now, HBCUs are doing their thing.
00:09:33 --> 00:09:42 You know, I've read something that the white enrollment is up at a lot of these HBCUs.
00:09:43 --> 00:09:48 Did you hear about that? No, you said white enrollment is white. Yeah, yeah, yeah.
00:09:49 --> 00:09:56 That white enrollment is up at HBCUs. So a lot of white students are enrolling at HBCUs.
00:09:57 --> 00:10:02 You know, so it's very interesting. I can definitely see it because,
00:10:02 --> 00:10:07 you know, I feel like a lot of the HBCUs, they're just getting better programs,
00:10:07 --> 00:10:12 you know, better majors, you know, more facilities, more upgrades.
00:10:12 --> 00:10:17 So, you know, especially for people who are in fact, you know, I'm kind of curious.
00:10:17 --> 00:10:21 I wonder what the breakdown is between people who are coming from,
00:10:22 --> 00:10:29 let's say, a distance to go to that HBCU versus people who are like local HBCU.
00:10:29 --> 00:10:32 That that that'll be yeah yeah
00:10:32 --> 00:10:38 find out yeah you know it's it's really crazy because when you look at when
00:10:38 --> 00:10:44 you look at them and you say to yourself you say to yourself about these hbcus
00:10:44 --> 00:10:50 and so forth because i know i've watched some of the hbcu football games that they have on saturdays.
00:10:50 --> 00:10:54 There's quite a few of them that have white quarterbacks yeah i'm
00:10:54 --> 00:10:57 sure yeah so and you know white players
00:10:57 --> 00:11:00 so it's very popular i guess i guess
00:11:00 --> 00:11:03 you know these and they you know um
00:11:03 --> 00:11:06 there's some white cappers there's a white
00:11:06 --> 00:11:13 q that i saw on on on tiktok white q there's also a white delta and she's like
00:11:13 --> 00:11:19 one of those 50 year members right well there's there's a local there's there's
00:11:19 --> 00:11:24 one here a local one is that the one you're talking about that's in yeah because
00:11:24 --> 00:11:25 i was at an event i I saw her.
00:11:25 --> 00:11:30 They said, Oh, wow. Really? Okay. I think she, I think she, she pledged with
00:11:30 --> 00:11:32 one of our buddies, Ms. Banks.
00:11:33 --> 00:11:39 Okay. No, the person I'm talking about is probably maybe in her 70s or 80s,
00:11:39 --> 00:11:42 but I've seen her online.
00:11:42 --> 00:11:45 And you know what I'm telling you is so funny? Because, you know,
00:11:45 --> 00:11:50 a lot of times fraternities and sororities, they'll have little memes of people
00:11:50 --> 00:11:55 who look like they went to Goodwill and picked up an outfit shirt. Yeah.
00:11:56 --> 00:12:00 Just wearing it around white people, maybe Mexican, Asian, not even knowing.
00:12:00 --> 00:12:05 Yeah. And when I first saw on social media that Delta, who was white,
00:12:05 --> 00:12:09 and she's older, in her 70s, that's the first thing that popped into my mind.
00:12:10 --> 00:12:15 And then I scrolled through, and she had, like, pictures from when she crossed.
00:12:15 --> 00:12:20 Well, yeah, I think she had pictures from when she crossed. She had her pledge book.
00:12:20 --> 00:12:23 She had all this paraphernalia in her house. And, I mean, it was actually kind
00:12:23 --> 00:12:27 of cool to see. You know, she got a lot of props for it.
00:12:27 --> 00:12:30 Okay. Very cool. I ain't mad at it. Okay.
00:12:31 --> 00:12:37 All right. Well, we are in Black History Month, so we're going to try to give
00:12:37 --> 00:12:39 you a little known Black history fact.
00:12:39 --> 00:12:43 I actually wanted to read about this one particular person,
00:12:44 --> 00:12:50 spotlight on someone that you may not have heard of, and I kind of want to do
00:12:50 --> 00:12:55 that for this month, is kind of talk about people that are lesser known that
00:12:55 --> 00:12:58 have their place in our history as being.
00:12:59 --> 00:13:07 You know, change-breaking type people. So this person's name is Robert Sangstaff
00:13:07 --> 00:13:10 Abbott, or Robert Abbott,
00:13:10 --> 00:13:16 and he was born in 1868 and he died in 1940.
00:13:18 --> 00:13:24 And it says, without Abbott's creative vision, many of the Black publications
00:13:24 --> 00:13:30 of today, such as Ebony, Essence, and Black Enterprise and Upscale, wouldn't exist.
00:13:31 --> 00:13:37 In 1905, Avid founded the Chicago Defender Weekly Newspaper.
00:13:37 --> 00:13:40 The paper originally started out
00:13:40 --> 00:13:45 as a four-page pamphlet, increasing its circulation with every edition.
00:13:45 --> 00:13:51 Avid and his newspaper played an integral part in encouraging African Americans
00:13:51 --> 00:13:55 to migrate from the South for better economic opportunities.
00:13:56 --> 00:14:04 And with doing that, giving them more and more opportunities to go into media.
00:14:04 --> 00:14:12 So they said that he was the prototype for a lot of those magazines and everything to come later on.
00:14:12 --> 00:14:20 So that's Robert Abbott, you know, and this is your little known black history fact. Okay.
00:14:21 --> 00:14:24 Okay. I mean, I think one of the things that's cool about it now,
00:14:24 --> 00:14:28 I believe the Chicago Defender, which is, I believe, still around,
00:14:28 --> 00:14:33 is just, you know, one of the loans and still operating and still,
00:14:33 --> 00:14:35 you know, relevant to that Chicago area.
00:14:35 --> 00:14:37 So, I mean, that's trend setting.
00:14:38 --> 00:14:42 Yeah, that's a very, very popular paper. And I've heard, I remember hearing
00:14:42 --> 00:14:47 about that, gosh, when I was a teenager, I remember hearing about the Chicago Defender.
00:14:48 --> 00:14:51 So it's been around a long time. Yeah. Yeah. So, yeah,
00:14:52 --> 00:14:57 Okay. All right. Well, let's go ahead and get into a few stories for today.
00:14:58 --> 00:15:09 I'm going to start with this one. TikTok King KB Lamey inks $900 million deal
00:15:09 --> 00:15:13 to revolutionize content creator deals.
00:15:13 --> 00:15:19 Now for somebody who's out there that's not familiar with KB he's the guy the
00:15:19 --> 00:15:25 African guy that you guys seen on a lot of videos he doesn't talk in the videos
00:15:25 --> 00:15:29 he just stands there and when he sees something that doesn't make sense he kind
00:15:29 --> 00:15:32 of throws his arms up in the air and does a shrug.
00:15:33 --> 00:15:39 And he's been popular for years okay so let me go a little bit into the story
00:15:39 --> 00:15:46 it said Lamy who has over 160 million followers on TikTok.
00:15:46 --> 00:15:53 We'll see his brand stretch into beauty, fragrance, and apparel sections along
00:15:53 --> 00:16:00 with a new merchandise, brand partnership, digital campaigns, and more.
00:16:00 --> 00:16:09 He says he is already the most followed person on TikTok with over 160 million and counting.
00:16:09 --> 00:16:16 Now he's stepping out as one of the world's foremost individual brands,
00:16:16 --> 00:16:24 finalizing a $900 million deal in U.S.-based company Rich Sparkle Holdings.
00:16:24 --> 00:16:33 The acquisition and strategic partnership deal gives Rich Sparkle exclusive rights to Lamey.
00:16:34 --> 00:16:37 According to the Business Insider, Africa.
00:16:39 --> 00:16:46 Lemieux grew his business portfolio from reaction videos and the popular social
00:16:46 --> 00:16:49 network into a global brand.
00:16:50 --> 00:16:56 He has launched Step Distinction Limited, a company tasked with handling his
00:16:56 --> 00:17:02 merchandise, brand partnerships, and e-commerce ventures and digital campaigns.
00:17:03 --> 00:17:07 With Rich Sparkle, the U.S.-based company now holds exclusive commercial rights
00:17:07 --> 00:17:11 to Lamey's brands for an initial 36-month period.
00:17:12 --> 00:17:18 The company believes by integrating Lamey's cross-platform audience,
00:17:19 --> 00:17:24 which includes more than $360 million into their full-chain operations from
00:17:24 --> 00:17:25 manufacturing, logistics,
00:17:26 --> 00:17:32 digital storefronts, the brand could generate upwards to $4 billion in sales. annually.
00:17:34 --> 00:17:34 Okay.
00:17:37 --> 00:17:46 Let me say, he kind of came on the scene just before we started our podcast, right? Mm-hmm.
00:17:47 --> 00:17:51 Around the same time, he really started taking, you know, getting a lot of steam.
00:17:52 --> 00:18:01 So let's just say in the last four and a half, five years, this guy has basically become a billionaire.
00:18:02 --> 00:18:04 Yeah, for sure.
00:18:06 --> 00:18:12 And it's interesting, you know. And he's actually now, you know,
00:18:12 --> 00:18:15 I saw him in a commercial where he was actually talking. That was interesting.
00:18:15 --> 00:18:17 Oh, really? I was like, oh, he's talking.
00:18:18 --> 00:18:22 Yeah, I did. It was something online, but he was actually talking.
00:18:23 --> 00:18:28 I think he was making fun of himself, you know, because he was talking, you know.
00:18:29 --> 00:18:33 But it was interesting. Does he speak English? I know he was living in,
00:18:33 --> 00:18:35 like, Italy or France at one point.
00:18:35 --> 00:18:38 He actually does speak English. Oh, okay. Yeah, but, you know,
00:18:39 --> 00:18:43 he has that accent, though, you know, like, British-type accent.
00:18:43 --> 00:18:44 You know how they do, right?
00:18:45 --> 00:18:52 And, you know, and they said he's getting into more—he wants to get more into acting and the media.
00:18:52 --> 00:18:59 So, you know, of course, he did Bad Boys, Ride or Die, and then he has a TV
00:18:59 --> 00:19:00 show that's getting ready to come on.
00:19:00 --> 00:19:08 There's a TV comedy series that he's going to have called Baby is Coming to America.
00:19:10 --> 00:19:17 On Tubi, of all things. So he's doing it. I can't be mad at him.
00:19:18 --> 00:19:21 I can't be mad at him. He's made a lot of money.
00:19:24 --> 00:19:31 And whoever thought... When I think about it, Leonard, and I think about how hard...
00:19:32 --> 00:19:36 And I'm going to use me, for example. How hard I've had to work all these years
00:19:36 --> 00:19:39 to be able to have some things.
00:19:40 --> 00:19:43 You know with social and that was before so
00:19:43 --> 00:19:46 that was be what you said i said
00:19:46 --> 00:19:49 work harder yeah no and that
00:19:49 --> 00:19:52 was before social media and everything now with social media everybody's going
00:19:52 --> 00:19:58 on social media and and and this getting crazy if you got the right product
00:19:58 --> 00:20:02 and you got the right way of marketing yourself and everything you know you
00:20:02 --> 00:20:08 can become rich in a heartbeat yeah You know,
00:20:08 --> 00:20:13 you know, you know, you know, these young people are, you know,
00:20:13 --> 00:20:16 we we talk a lot about what they won't do.
00:20:17 --> 00:20:22 We do talk a lot about what they won't do, but the stuff that they are committed
00:20:22 --> 00:20:24 to, they're committed to it.
00:20:25 --> 00:20:30 And they will go out and make things happen. And this guy is one of those guys.
00:20:30 --> 00:20:36 Now, of course, he came from another country and that, you know, that tends to,
00:20:37 --> 00:20:41 you know, I mean, can change things because sometimes, you know,
00:20:41 --> 00:20:44 you hear people and we've had this conversation before about people from other
00:20:44 --> 00:20:47 countries coming here and being able, well,
00:20:48 --> 00:20:51 not, well, he, you know, he's been here, but I mean,
00:20:51 --> 00:20:55 you know, people from other countries making money off of us or being able to
00:20:55 --> 00:20:58 get roles and so forth that are made for,
00:20:58 --> 00:21:04 that should be us, but aren't us you know what i mean so but but i can't be
00:21:04 --> 00:21:06 mad at him he's done well he's done very well.
00:21:08 --> 00:21:11 What do you think about this whole thing? Yeah, I mean, I agree.
00:21:11 --> 00:21:17 You know, I think he took a very basic concept and just kind of ran with it.
00:21:18 --> 00:21:22 You know, just the art of making complex things look easy.
00:21:22 --> 00:21:27 And, you know, so, I mean, he's done what he's done.
00:21:27 --> 00:21:32 But, you know, I think the good thing about him, he didn't just stop with where
00:21:32 --> 00:21:34 he was. You know what I mean?
00:21:35 --> 00:21:38 And actually, I didn't know he had all these other businesses and stuff.
00:21:38 --> 00:21:43 I thought he was just on a TikTok, Instagram creator.
00:21:43 --> 00:21:47 So it's kind of cool to see. It looks like he's taking it to the fullest potential
00:21:47 --> 00:21:51 and trying to keep that money flowing to him.
00:21:52 --> 00:21:57 Because it would make me think, dang, if I had a partner like him five years
00:21:57 --> 00:22:02 ago, these news and friends we'd probably,
00:22:03 --> 00:22:13 be worldwide right here but Dave don't worry news and trends with KVN news and trends with KVN yeah.
00:22:17 --> 00:22:24 I know all about it but Dave you know you're my boy I ain't gonna drop you yet,
00:22:26 --> 00:22:31 okay alright there you go he ain't got nothing to say to that I guess,
00:22:33 --> 00:22:36 but anyway I didn't think so,
00:22:37 --> 00:22:41 But I have to say congratulations to him. I mean, he's made it work for himself
00:22:41 --> 00:22:46 and, you know, and it looks like he's going to be around for a while.
00:22:46 --> 00:22:51 So as long as he doesn't, you know, hopefully that's not one of them contracts
00:22:51 --> 00:22:57 where, you know, he can't keep track of everything, if you know what I mean. So, you know, so.
00:22:58 --> 00:23:00 All right. Moving on to our next story.
00:23:02 --> 00:23:10 Did you see the thing, the two fighters, where the guy's toupee got knocked off? Yes. Oh, Lord.
00:23:12 --> 00:23:17 That was crazy. So, that was crazy. That was crazy.
00:23:18 --> 00:23:23 So, it says, after getting it knocked off the ring, Gerald Miller,
00:23:23 --> 00:23:28 viral toupee moments, barks, business opportunities and offers.
00:23:28 --> 00:23:30 Now, he's going to get rich because of this whole thing.
00:23:30 --> 00:23:34 So, you know, but this is the story. If you guys haven't heard it,
00:23:34 --> 00:23:41 It's an embarrassing boxing moment mishap unexpectedly opened new doors for
00:23:41 --> 00:23:44 heavyweight fighter Darrell Miller,
00:23:44 --> 00:23:49 whose social media inbox is now overflowing with business propositions from
00:23:49 --> 00:23:51 companies eager to partner with him.
00:23:52 --> 00:23:58 During his match with Kingsley Abe at Madison Square Garden,
00:23:58 --> 00:24:01 Miller experienced every fighter's nightmare.
00:24:01 --> 00:24:08 When a second-round punch dislodged his hairpiece in front of thousands of spectators,
00:24:08 --> 00:24:14 the bout took place on the undercard for Shakur Stevenson and Teofimo Lopez.
00:24:14 --> 00:24:20 But Miller's wardrobe malfunction quickly became the evening most talked about.
00:24:22 --> 00:24:30 Moment online. Miller revealed to TMZ Sports that interest from the potential
00:24:30 --> 00:24:33 business partners have been overwhelming.
00:24:33 --> 00:24:37 There's a lot of hair companies from Turkey reached out, he said.
00:24:37 --> 00:24:44 A couple man weaving companies reached out. So my DMs are crazy.
00:24:44 --> 00:24:48 I haven't even gone through even a quarter of them yet.
00:24:48 --> 00:24:54 He said the moment Darrell Miller's hair had punched off in the middle of the
00:24:54 --> 00:24:58 fight and they showed the video, you said you saw the video.
00:24:59 --> 00:25:04 During the appearance on The Breakfast Club, I was listening to this interview
00:25:04 --> 00:25:08 on The Breakfast Club, Miller provided additional details about the incident,
00:25:08 --> 00:25:12 including the financial investment behind the hairpiece.
00:25:12 --> 00:25:21 He recounted the precise moment he realized his pricely to pay was no longer on his head. Man.
00:25:22 --> 00:25:27 $700 last minute. I didn't realize it came off, but I felt a draft.
00:25:28 --> 00:25:32 I'm sitting down in my corner. My coach is giving me instructions,
00:25:32 --> 00:25:34 but he should stutter twice.
00:25:34 --> 00:25:42 The unusual behavior from the corner clued him into the situation unfolding, and he never stutters.
00:25:42 --> 00:25:50 I looked at the jumble try for the replay and said, those two are on the IHT.
00:25:51 --> 00:25:54 They got me. We cooked. We fried.
00:25:55 --> 00:26:05 Everybody knows. Miller, unfortunately, won the fight via split decision against Ibe,
00:26:05 --> 00:26:11 though the victory was somewhat eclipsed by the hairpiece incident that captivated social media.
00:26:12 --> 00:26:16 Rather than shy away from the embarrassment, Miller used the situation as a
00:26:16 --> 00:26:19 teaching moment for his children.
00:26:20 --> 00:26:23 Sometimes some of us men give up in
00:26:23 --> 00:26:26 life and out our our
00:26:26 --> 00:26:34 lives short and cut our lives short Miller said but I prayed to God and asked
00:26:34 --> 00:26:39 God to give me confidence strength and courage to keep pushing forward I got
00:26:39 --> 00:26:44 two young boys a 16 year old and four year old and I got a one-year-old daughter.
00:26:44 --> 00:26:52 So I got to be here for them and show them, listen, daddy made some mistakes, but I ain't a quitter.
00:26:54 --> 00:26:59 Now, did you hear about what led to all this toupee stuff?
00:26:59 --> 00:27:02 Yeah, I did. You talking about how it went to his mom's house?
00:27:02 --> 00:27:05 He tried to blame it on his mom? Yeah. Yeah.
00:27:08 --> 00:27:12 So he called himself washing his hair with his mom's shampoo.
00:27:13 --> 00:27:18 And it had ammonia in the bottle. Now, Dave, who does that?
00:27:20 --> 00:27:23 Well, I don't know. I believe it personally because, you know,
00:27:23 --> 00:27:26 we always, we, yeah, because think about it.
00:27:26 --> 00:27:29 When you go to your mom's house, you always go into something that they might
00:27:29 --> 00:27:33 have, you know, eating something that they might have in the refrigerator.
00:27:33 --> 00:27:35 We all done that kind of stuff in the past.
00:27:36 --> 00:27:41 But. Dave, come on. So you're saying if you're, if you're in the shower or if
00:27:41 --> 00:27:45 you're washing your hair and there's shampoo there, you saying you wouldn't use it.
00:27:46 --> 00:27:49 I'm just curious. Yeah, you would use, you would use it. You would use it.
00:27:49 --> 00:27:54 I'm curious why his mom would have something in the shower that looked like
00:27:54 --> 00:27:56 shampoo that had bleach in it.
00:27:57 --> 00:28:00 Most parents, and see, this is for old school parents, and see,
00:28:00 --> 00:28:02 you probably don't know nothing about this.
00:28:02 --> 00:28:08 A lot of times, yeah, a lot of times, the old school parents would take bottles,
00:28:09 --> 00:28:16 and once the original bottle is empty, you know, they might pour something else
00:28:16 --> 00:28:20 in there and use it, you know, for that, you know, because they didn't have
00:28:20 --> 00:28:24 anything to store that particular liquid in there.
00:28:24 --> 00:28:31 So apparently she probably poured ammonia in there in the shampoo bottle.
00:28:32 --> 00:28:37 And so when she cleans her tub or shower, she uses that ammonia in the shower.
00:28:38 --> 00:28:41 So you got to understand how these people think. You don't know anything about
00:28:41 --> 00:28:42 the old school way of thinking.
00:28:43 --> 00:28:46 So you wouldn't understand that that does happen from time to time.
00:28:47 --> 00:28:54 And of course, she wasn't expecting her son to use her stuff, you know.
00:28:54 --> 00:28:58 And of course, he used it and his hair fell out. And that's what happened.
00:28:58 --> 00:29:03 So he goes out and buys Duda Toupet. And I don't know if you guys can see these
00:29:03 --> 00:29:06 TikTok and these Instagram videos of people,
00:29:06 --> 00:29:10 especially the men now because it's really popular to see the men doing it now
00:29:10 --> 00:29:16 women have been doing it for years but now you'll see the they'll take a piece
00:29:16 --> 00:29:19 of hair and put it on a guy's bald head,
00:29:20 --> 00:29:22 cut it down shape it up and that stuff be looking
00:29:22 --> 00:29:25 look that stuff be looking good man i ain't
00:29:25 --> 00:29:29 gonna fly it's looking good you never know that it's not real and they said
00:29:29 --> 00:29:33 that's what steve harvey did for years you know they said that was what steve
00:29:33 --> 00:29:37 harvey did for years but yeah they'd be blending that stuff in man you never
00:29:37 --> 00:29:41 know that that person and i'm sure nobody probably knew that this guy was wearing
00:29:41 --> 00:29:43 a toupee at that particular time,
00:29:44 --> 00:29:49 but because of him sweating and everything that it came loose and you could
00:29:49 --> 00:29:52 tell when you saw the first when you saw that punch it you saw the thing fly
00:29:52 --> 00:29:53 up in the air like we got it.
00:29:56 --> 00:30:01 So funny when i first saw it i saw a clip on social media and i wasn't looking
00:30:01 --> 00:30:06 at the hair part, I looked at the punch I saw it looks like he kind of ducked under the punch,
00:30:07 --> 00:30:12 but it said pushed it way back and I'm like I laughed but I didn't get it and
00:30:12 --> 00:30:15 I actually went back to it,
00:30:15 --> 00:30:20 And looked at it, and I was like, oh, man, how did I miss this part with the toupee flying around?
00:30:21 --> 00:30:25 Yeah, yeah, yeah. You see the toupee pop up. It was still on his head because he pulled it.
00:30:25 --> 00:30:30 It was still on his head, and it was after the fight that he pulled the thing off all together. Yeah.
00:30:30 --> 00:30:33 Everybody was cheering him. He pulled it off, you know.
00:30:34 --> 00:30:38 But, you know, but this guy, you know, he's going to get some endorsements,
00:30:38 --> 00:30:42 it looks like, all of it. And I'm sure, you know, I'm sure there'll be a couple
00:30:42 --> 00:30:47 of barbers trying to reach out to him, trying to get him to advertise their stuff for, you know, so.
00:30:48 --> 00:30:52 But I'll say, but the good thing is he'll probably be in a couple of skits,
00:30:52 --> 00:30:55 too, you know, like, yeah, I'm sure.
00:30:55 --> 00:31:01 Oh, I'm sure that a Saturday Night Live will probably take probably make a skit about it, too.
00:31:02 --> 00:31:06 But, you know, I'm sure he's going to be he's going to be all right after this.
00:31:06 --> 00:31:10 And the great thing is he won the fight on top of it so that's good.
00:31:12 --> 00:31:16 But congratulations Mr. Miller and you know,
00:31:17 --> 00:31:20 Don't use your mother's shampoo ever again. Okay? All right.
00:31:21 --> 00:31:27 Okay. Or just cut off the hair altogether. So, all right. Moving on to our next one.
00:31:28 --> 00:31:33 Here we are. It's Black History Month, and we're still dealing with a lot of craziness.
00:31:34 --> 00:31:38 But, you know, I'm going to talk about this story because, first of all,
00:31:38 --> 00:31:42 I can't believe that they allowed him to run this place anyway.
00:31:42 --> 00:31:47 But Kennedy Center has no Black History Month events. And I remember going to
00:31:47 --> 00:31:54 the Kennedy Center to see Porgy and Beth during Black History Month years ago.
00:31:54 --> 00:31:58 So now you don't have any events? This is crazy.
00:31:59 --> 00:32:02 But the story is the John F.
00:32:02 --> 00:32:07 Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts no longer features Black History Month
00:32:07 --> 00:32:13 events on its calendar, breaking from the decades of tradition historically.
00:32:13 --> 00:32:19 The venue celebrated February with concerts and performances spotlighting Black
00:32:19 --> 00:32:23 artists and cultural contributors.
00:32:23 --> 00:32:29 But these annual observances have vanished from the current schedule.
00:32:29 --> 00:32:37 The programming gap emerged after significant governance restructuring President
00:32:37 --> 00:32:42 Donald Trump removed existing board trustees last year with new appointees.
00:32:43 --> 00:32:49 And subsequently elected himself as chairman and installing his associate,
00:32:49 --> 00:32:54 Richard Grinnell, as organizational head of.
00:32:55 --> 00:33:00 Organizational head. Established performers previously associated with Black
00:33:00 --> 00:33:06 History Month celebrations relocated their performances to alternative venues
00:33:06 --> 00:33:09 with no replacement programming announced.
00:33:10 --> 00:33:16 The leadership transformation triggered widespread operational disruption.
00:33:16 --> 00:33:26 Countless artists canceled scheduled performances in months coming while ticket
00:33:26 --> 00:33:28 purchases declined dramatically.
00:33:28 --> 00:33:37 December brought board approval for the rebranding of the facility, the Donald Trump, J.
00:33:37 --> 00:33:42 Trump, and John F. Kennedy Memorial Center. I can't, I can't, I can't, I can't.
00:33:45 --> 00:33:49 The more you hear about stuff like this, the more you just get more upset.
00:33:50 --> 00:33:54 And did you hear that they're closing it for two years to do all the different
00:33:54 --> 00:33:58 renovations and everything that they want to do,
00:34:00 --> 00:34:04 Kennedy Center has, have you ever been there? I actually have not.
00:34:05 --> 00:34:10 Beautiful place, man. Well, they said, he's saying it's rat infested now and
00:34:10 --> 00:34:13 everything's old in there.
00:34:13 --> 00:34:16 So it needs to be upgraded.
00:34:16 --> 00:34:18 He just wants to put his name on everything.
00:34:19 --> 00:34:25 You know, how can we have people sleeping on the street, Leonard,
00:34:26 --> 00:34:32 in all these major cities, sleeping in tents and sleeping in parks, all this stuff.
00:34:33 --> 00:34:40 But you got money to close the Kennedy Center up, to do the renovations,
00:34:40 --> 00:34:46 and then also add a whole new wing onto the White House. All for you.
00:34:47 --> 00:34:50 Okay, what's wrong with this? What's wrong with this picture?
00:34:50 --> 00:34:54 The Kennedy Center is not about Donald Trump.
00:34:54 --> 00:35:00 It was there before Donald Trump. Why is it that we are allowing him to do all of this stuff?
00:35:02 --> 00:35:06 That's your cue right there. Yeah. Well, you know, Dave, one thing you didn't
00:35:06 --> 00:35:09 mention, and I heard that yesterday that I thought was interesting, too.
00:35:09 --> 00:35:15 They said that another reason why they were shutting down is because so many
00:35:15 --> 00:35:20 performers had been canceling out of, you know, even performing there.
00:35:21 --> 00:35:28 So, like, their schedule was at a minimal amount because nobody wants to be there under Trump.
00:35:29 --> 00:35:36 So I think they kind of doubled on that excuse for the renovations because they
00:35:36 --> 00:35:39 knew that, you know, their turnout is low to no.
00:35:40 --> 00:35:45 Yeah, because it just doesn't make any sense that he could take a building that's
00:35:45 --> 00:35:50 been there forever. I'm surprised he's not taking John F. Kennedy's name off the building.
00:35:50 --> 00:35:57 But how can you just add your name and make this all about you? Yeah.
00:35:58 --> 00:36:05 And Dave, it's like, why do you feel the name, the need to add your name to everything? You know?
00:36:05 --> 00:36:10 Yeah. Well, you know, he thinks he's the greatest president ever. You know that, right?
00:36:11 --> 00:36:18 Yeah. And did you hear about the other day he was, they, they recorded him talking
00:36:18 --> 00:36:20 about that he was above the law.
00:36:20 --> 00:36:29 Did you hear about this? Yeah. You know, it's just unbelievable how he's able
00:36:29 --> 00:36:32 to do the things that he's doing, which is unprecedented.
00:36:34 --> 00:36:37 And we can't seem to stop him from doing these things.
00:36:39 --> 00:36:42 You know, the Kennedy Center, man, that's an awesome place. It really is.
00:36:43 --> 00:36:48 I went there a few times. And, you know, next thing you know,
00:36:48 --> 00:36:50 he'll be changing the name of
00:36:50 --> 00:36:58 the Afro-American History Museum to Donald Trump's place where they lived.
00:36:59 --> 00:37:04 You know, something like that, something crazy. So even though I know they're
00:37:04 --> 00:37:06 trying to close that too, by the way. Yeah.
00:37:06 --> 00:37:16 Yeah, so. But anyway, I just don't understand. I really do not understand how
00:37:16 --> 00:37:18 this can happen, but it's happening, folks.
00:37:19 --> 00:37:23 And I guess... Dave, I was going to say one thing I'm confident about,
00:37:23 --> 00:37:30 just like a lot of other things with Trump, I'm sure he's going to run it into the ground.
00:37:30 --> 00:37:38 Almost positively agree I mean 100% with you because that's all he's ever done
00:37:38 --> 00:37:43 that's all he's ever done that's why none of the properties that he,
00:37:44 --> 00:37:52 had they start out doing well and then all of a sudden you know they disappear bankruptcy.
00:37:54 --> 00:38:03 But you know I don't blame the black performers for finding places to play otherwise,
00:38:03 --> 00:38:09 you know, but it's really a shame that this was a tradition to have things there
00:38:09 --> 00:38:12 during this particular month, and it's not happening.
00:38:13 --> 00:38:15 So, anyway.
00:38:17 --> 00:38:21 What do you got for us there? Yeah, so Dave, the one story I just kind of wanted
00:38:21 --> 00:38:27 to talk about briefly before we get to Lynn's Lounge is,
00:38:27 --> 00:38:31 so yesterday there was a story of the Florida,
00:38:32 --> 00:38:36 in fact, let me just make sure I get his title right, because I was just kind
00:38:36 --> 00:38:43 of dumbfounded, and he kind of reminded me of a Tim Scott slash Herschel Walker slash,
00:38:43 --> 00:38:44 who else we got?
00:38:46 --> 00:38:49 Um who else uh Tim Scott
00:38:49 --> 00:38:52 Hershel Walker yeah um well
00:38:52 --> 00:38:55 y'all y'all get the point yeah yeah so anyway
00:38:55 --> 00:38:58 so yesterday or the day before the
00:38:58 --> 00:39:07 Florida Surgeon General Joseph Latipo he was at a press conference and it doesn't
00:39:07 --> 00:39:12 say it but I believe he's a he's a trumper and he made an announcement that
00:39:12 --> 00:39:18 he is excited to say that they are,
00:39:18 --> 00:39:21 and when I say they, I'm talking about Florida,
00:39:22 --> 00:39:30 plans to end vaccine requirements for children in schools as they want parents
00:39:30 --> 00:39:37 to have the choice to choose what they put into or don't put into to their children's bodies.
00:39:39 --> 00:39:43 Now And David you get a chance you have to watch it Because he was like you
00:39:43 --> 00:39:46 know he made it sound Like this was a groundbreaking announcement Like something
00:39:46 --> 00:39:50 to really be excited for But you know a lot of people Are,
00:39:51 --> 00:39:54 pushing back because, you know, of course, you know, I mean,
00:39:54 --> 00:39:59 I understand a lot of people had hesitations about COVID, but some of these
00:39:59 --> 00:40:02 vaccines are things that are needed, you know, measles.
00:40:02 --> 00:40:05 And I'm trying to think of the other important ones that, you know,
00:40:05 --> 00:40:07 all kids have to have before they go to school.
00:40:07 --> 00:40:11 Chicken pox, I think. Yeah, chicken pox, all that stuff. But he's looking to
00:40:11 --> 00:40:15 do away with the requirements for vaccines.
00:40:15 --> 00:40:17 And it's funny because when I went on social media and I was looking.
00:40:18 --> 00:40:24 Everyone had these memes of Florida looking like zombies attack aliens from,
00:40:24 --> 00:40:26 you know, Mars and all that stuff.
00:40:27 --> 00:40:32 But, you know, I just thought it was interesting that, and oh, okay. And the last part.
00:40:32 --> 00:40:41 So he said, then after that, he said, who, who am I to tell you what to put in your body?
00:40:42 --> 00:40:47 And basically saying your body is a gift from God. You know, Who am I to say?
00:40:47 --> 00:40:52 But yet these were the same people, you know, talking about abortion,
00:40:52 --> 00:40:55 what women could or could not do with their body. So, you know,
00:40:55 --> 00:40:57 I thought it was kind of ironic.
00:40:57 --> 00:41:02 But, you know, I know, Dave, you were involved with a lot of vaccinations,
00:41:02 --> 00:41:04 you know, four or five years ago.
00:41:04 --> 00:41:10 How do you feel about him saying that, you know, he's excited to end all vaccine
00:41:10 --> 00:41:15 requirements for, you know, schoolchildren in Florida?
00:41:16 --> 00:41:21 I think that's one of the dumbest ideas I've ever heard.
00:41:22 --> 00:41:27 First of all, these kids need to have these vaccines, especially in school,
00:41:27 --> 00:41:32 because it's so many, you know, every day there's kids being sent home from
00:41:32 --> 00:41:35 school from colds and all types of things going on in school.
00:41:36 --> 00:41:40 And if they don't have, you know, with the interaction that they have and so
00:41:40 --> 00:41:43 forth, people come in to come to school sneezing and wiping,
00:41:44 --> 00:41:47 you know, of course, they're not the cleanest,
00:41:47 --> 00:41:52 you know, you know, during school because, you know, they wiping their nose.
00:41:52 --> 00:41:53 They're doing this, they're doing that.
00:41:54 --> 00:42:00 You know, not every kid is going to have hand sanitizer and stuff with them to wipe their hands off.
00:42:00 --> 00:42:03 So it's just a dumb idea.
00:42:04 --> 00:42:10 I just don't understand. And, you know, you mentioned about the vaccines and so forth.
00:42:10 --> 00:42:14 But I go back, Leonard, to say they don't do these vaccines anymore.
00:42:14 --> 00:42:18 But when I was in school, we had to have certain vaccines every year.
00:42:19 --> 00:42:23 And they stopped doing those later on. But, you know,
00:42:23 --> 00:42:29 we had the vaccination, you know, people over a certain age have on their arms,
00:42:29 --> 00:42:35 you know, vaccination where we had, you know, we got a shot every year and all
00:42:35 --> 00:42:37 of us have a mark from that shot.
00:42:37 --> 00:42:39 Oh, wow. You didn't know about that?
00:42:41 --> 00:42:48 I feel like I read about it in some old, old, old history books. Old, old, you know, old.
00:42:49 --> 00:42:59 But it's true we all have I think it's I think if you're over 50 if you're over
00:42:59 --> 00:43:03 50 you probably got these shots I think it's stopped because,
00:43:04 --> 00:43:09 for those people under 50. But if you're 50 years, if you're 50 and older,
00:43:09 --> 00:43:16 one of your arms, you have a spot and it comes from these shots that we used to get.
00:43:16 --> 00:43:20 We used to get it in the same arm in the same spot every year.
00:43:20 --> 00:43:25 And they were supposed to be for like measles and all kinds of stuff back then.
00:43:26 --> 00:43:31 But it was something that we did every year and take this big needle.
00:43:33 --> 00:43:36 Nobody like getting the shot you know so yeah but
00:43:36 --> 00:43:39 then they stopped doing it and you know it
00:43:39 --> 00:43:42 was and and it always left a mark it always
00:43:42 --> 00:43:45 left a mark you know so those people that have that and
00:43:45 --> 00:43:48 who listen to the show i'm sure will probably get to
00:43:48 --> 00:43:51 figure oh i got it i got it i remember you know
00:43:51 --> 00:43:55 because there's a lot of people listen to the show that remember that yeah and
00:43:55 --> 00:44:01 but to Take away doing these vaccines That's one of the things Like at my job
00:44:01 --> 00:44:08 With certain benefits that you get We ask We ask for their shot records,
00:44:09 --> 00:44:14 Because we need to know That they're being properly taken care of And we ask
00:44:14 --> 00:44:18 for that So that's something that's very important To us,
00:44:18 --> 00:44:22 And to take it away And say that you're not going to do it You know what I mean?
00:44:22 --> 00:44:27 Sick children there's going to be Yeah, that's crazy Yeah.
00:44:27 --> 00:44:30 That's really crazy. So I would definitely.
00:44:31 --> 00:44:35 Definitely look at not doing that. But of course, you know, this administration
00:44:35 --> 00:44:37 just does whatever it wants to do.
00:44:37 --> 00:44:44 Right. They do. Yeah. So, but, you know, hopefully, hopefully get that right
00:44:44 --> 00:44:49 because we definitely don't want another pandemic coming around because we got
00:44:49 --> 00:44:50 a bunch of sick children.
00:44:51 --> 00:44:54 So, yeah. So, yeah, that's my thoughts.
00:44:55 --> 00:44:58 Okay. All right. Well, I think it's about time to wrap it up.
00:44:58 --> 00:45:05 But before we do, we can just go over to Lynn's corner and see what we have
00:45:05 --> 00:45:11 yeah I know see how he's hijacking his corner but go ahead I'm gonna let him
00:45:11 --> 00:45:14 every now and then I let him do it because you know sure,
00:45:16 --> 00:45:23 anyway go ahead so I have five questions for you do you consider yourself well
00:45:23 --> 00:45:29 these two are not part of the questions do you consider yourself knowing a lot about black history,
00:45:30 --> 00:45:33 think I'm good. Okay. Good, not great?
00:45:33 --> 00:45:37 I'm not going to say great, because I'm sure you're going to try to throw some
00:45:37 --> 00:45:39 stuff at me that I'm not going to know. Good.
00:45:39 --> 00:45:44 Okay. And then, how do you feel about knowing a lot about sports history?
00:45:46 --> 00:45:51 I'm a person who loves sports, so I think I'm pretty good there. Good, not great?
00:45:53 --> 00:45:57 Depends on what you ask me later. Okay. All right, Dave.
00:45:57 --> 00:46:01 I have a set of questions for you. Of course you do.
00:46:01 --> 00:46:06 And these are black sports questions, sports related questions.
00:46:06 --> 00:46:13 All right. Okay. So the first... I think I... Wait, I think I'm good for three out of five, okay?
00:46:13 --> 00:46:17 Oh, well, Hunter, before you answer that, what level of difficulty do you want?
00:46:17 --> 00:46:22 Easy, medium, or hard? What do you want to give me, Leonard?
00:46:23 --> 00:46:27 Well, I mean, I feel like easy would be too easy. You know, you wouldn't get
00:46:27 --> 00:46:29 to show your black sports... Okay.
00:46:29 --> 00:46:32 All right. So you want to go medium? Is that what you want to do?
00:46:32 --> 00:46:34 Okay. All right. That sounds good. Are you ready?
00:46:35 --> 00:46:40 All right. Your first question, and these are multiple choice.
00:46:40 --> 00:46:42 Okay. This one's probably too easy.
00:46:43 --> 00:46:50 Who won four gold medals at the 1936 Berlin Olympics?
00:46:51 --> 00:46:57 Oh, this is too easy. Carl Lewis, Usain Bolt.
00:46:58 --> 00:47:02 Jackie Joyner-Kersey or Jesse Owens?
00:47:03 --> 00:47:10 The Jesse Owens. Yeah, see, I'll tell you that one was too easy. All right, one for one.
00:47:11 --> 00:47:21 Which black person holds the record for the most home runs in Major League Baseball history?
00:47:22 --> 00:47:32 Choices are Willie Mays, Barry Bonds, Hank Aaron, Or Frank Robinson? And Karen.
00:47:33 --> 00:47:38 Okay. That's incorrect. But that's okay. That's not incorrect.
00:47:39 --> 00:47:42 That's correct. That's correct. I don't think so.
00:47:45 --> 00:47:47 We'll get back to it. What do you mean you don't think so? What do you mean
00:47:47 --> 00:47:51 you don't think so? Damn, I'm looking at my list here. Okay.
00:47:51 --> 00:47:54 It's correct. It's correct. Go ahead.
00:47:55 --> 00:47:56 Next question.
00:47:58 --> 00:48:04 Who was the first black quarterback to win a Super Bowl? Do you need the choices?
00:48:04 --> 00:48:07 Go ahead. Go ahead and give me the choices. I know. Do you need the choices?
00:48:07 --> 00:48:09 Go ahead and give me the choices.
00:48:09 --> 00:48:13 All right. So the choices are? Because I just gave you a right answer.
00:48:13 --> 00:48:14 You said it was wrong. But go ahead.
00:48:15 --> 00:48:22 Randall Cunningham, Doug Williams, Warren Moon, Patrick Mahomes.
00:48:23 --> 00:48:24 Doug Williams.
00:48:26 --> 00:48:38 Okay, next question. Which black NBA player averaged a triple-double for an entire season first?
00:48:39 --> 00:48:45 So who was the first black player to average a triple-double for the whole season?
00:48:46 --> 00:48:54 Was it Russell Westbrook, Oscar Robertson, Magic Johnson, or LeBron James?
00:48:55 --> 00:48:59 Oscar Robinson. That is correct. You got lucky with that one,
00:48:59 --> 00:49:01 huh? I ain't getting lucky. I knew the answer.
00:49:03 --> 00:49:06 Russell Westbrook was the second person to do it. All right,
00:49:06 --> 00:49:10 your last question. Let me make sure it's not too easy for you.
00:49:10 --> 00:49:13 You can throw a hard one in there if you want. Go ahead. Okay.
00:49:14 --> 00:49:19 You know, Dave, I was waiting to. Yeah, go ahead. I'm going to matter these
00:49:19 --> 00:49:21 medium questions. Yeah, okay.
00:49:22 --> 00:49:28 Who was the first black NHL National Hockey League player?
00:49:28 --> 00:49:36 Was it Willie O'Ree, Grant Furr, Jerome Ingler, or P.K.
00:49:36 --> 00:49:39 Saban? I think it was Ingler.
00:49:39 --> 00:49:42 Well, too bad you thought we're on, Dave. It was Willie McGee.
00:49:43 --> 00:49:48 I'm sorry. I'm sorry. You didn't say that. I'm sorry. Willie O'Ree.
00:49:49 --> 00:49:55 Oh, okay. All right. All right. But I knew it wasn't Saban, and I knew it wasn't,
00:49:55 --> 00:49:58 I'm sure, because I know who they are. Yeah.
00:49:59 --> 00:50:03 In fact, let me go back to this medium one that you said was...
00:50:03 --> 00:50:05 Yeah, Hank Aaron. The one I said was Hank Aaron.
00:50:06 --> 00:50:09 You said for the career. You didn't say in a season, right?
00:50:10 --> 00:50:14 Yeah, career. Right. Yeah. Okay. Okay.
00:50:15 --> 00:50:18 Because if it was a season, it wouldn't have been Barry Mons.
00:50:20 --> 00:50:26 But it didn't have the answer rate with it? Barry Bonds holds the all-time Major
00:50:26 --> 00:50:33 League Baseball home run record with 762 home runs.
00:50:34 --> 00:50:41 He passed Hank Aaron, who had 755 home runs, on August 7, 2007.
00:50:42 --> 00:50:48 He broke the record during his 22nd season.
00:50:50 --> 00:50:55 The 22nd season? Yeah. Barry Bonds. It was Barry Bonds' 22nd season of playing.
00:50:56 --> 00:51:01 I remember Barry Bonds playing 22 years. I mean, I know Hank Aaron played 22 years.
00:51:01 --> 00:51:06 Well, Dave, I guess you don't know. Okay, well, and I, well, okay.
00:51:06 --> 00:51:09 Hold on, Dave, Dave, you don't need to make any excuses. No comment,
00:51:10 --> 00:51:12 no comment, no comment, no comment. Okay, it is, look at his.
00:51:13 --> 00:51:18 I know you, I, I've forgotten about that part of it, but 22 years.
00:51:18 --> 00:51:21 He didn't play 22 years. Do I need to Google this?
00:51:22 --> 00:51:27 No, no. If that's what it says. I mean, if that's what it says.
00:51:28 --> 00:51:31 Hey, News and Trends family, this is what Dave does to me.
00:51:32 --> 00:51:38 No, I said if that's what it says. That's all I said. Dave, I'm reading right from Google.
00:51:39 --> 00:51:43 I'm not going to dispute it. Dave not saying, yeah, yeah.
00:51:43 --> 00:51:46 He's saying if that's what it says. I'm not going to dispute it.
00:51:46 --> 00:51:49 I'm not going to dispute it. I'm not going to dispute it as I Google.
00:51:50 --> 00:51:58 Yeah, yeah, yeah. Right. Yep. So Barry Bonds played from 1986 to 2007,
00:51:59 --> 00:52:01 which was 20-something.
00:52:02 --> 00:52:07 Yeah. Yeah. Gosh, I didn't realize it was that long. Okay. But anyway,
00:52:07 --> 00:52:10 well, good, good, good. Okay.
00:52:10 --> 00:52:14 Sorry, I got those two wrong. I took the hard one.
00:52:14 --> 00:52:18 The hard one, well, first of all, nobody knows about,
00:52:18 --> 00:52:23 I did see a documentary one time, they talked about the first black hockey player,
00:52:23 --> 00:52:29 you know, and I couldn't remember, I knew Engla, I think Engla was probably the second one,
00:52:30 --> 00:52:34 I couldn't remember the first guy's name, that's why I said Engla, so.
00:52:36 --> 00:52:40 But good, good, good. Okay. All right. We good.
00:52:40 --> 00:52:44 Good job. But I still got three. Like I told you, I told you I was going to
00:52:44 --> 00:52:46 get three. I'm good for three. I told you. Yeah, yeah, you did.
00:52:47 --> 00:52:50 And Dave, I just want to let you know, these trivia questions are brought to
00:52:50 --> 00:52:54 us by Culture Check, a new black trivia app.
00:52:55 --> 00:52:59 That's going to be launching in about a week or two. Okay. So I'll get more
00:52:59 --> 00:53:01 information on it as it comes. Okay.
00:53:02 --> 00:53:05 All right. You let me know about that. So, okay. All right.
