00:00:29 --> 00:00:33 Emily Johnson uh describing Diddy
00:00:33 --> 00:00:35 Combmes inner circle, telling the jury
00:00:35 --> 00:00:37 how those those that are close to Diddy
00:00:37 --> 00:00:41 helped commit crime after crime. She
00:00:41 --> 00:00:42 says, "Together, the group worked to
00:00:42 --> 00:00:45 promote the defendant's power. They
00:00:45 --> 00:00:47 carefully cultivated and guarded his
00:00:47 --> 00:00:49 reputation. He called himself the king
00:00:49 --> 00:00:52 and expected to be treated like one. He
00:00:52 --> 00:00:54 expected his inner circle to cater to
00:00:54 --> 00:00:57 his every desire, including his sexual
00:00:57 --> 00:01:00 desire, and his inner circle made sure
00:01:00 --> 00:01:03 he got everything that he wanted. And
00:01:03 --> 00:01:05 Johnson, that's the lawyer, said
00:01:05 --> 00:01:07 resources from his businesses were used
00:01:07 --> 00:01:10 to smeually exploit multiple women,
00:01:10 --> 00:01:12 including by forcing them to have smecks
00:01:12 --> 00:01:15 with male escorts while he watched. Much
00:01:15 --> 00:01:17 of the prosecution's case will focus on
00:01:17 --> 00:01:20 two women, Cassie and another victim
00:01:20 --> 00:01:22 they call Jane, that will be you used
00:01:22 --> 00:01:25 during the trial. The defendants use
00:01:25 --> 00:01:27 lies, drugs, threats, and violence to
00:01:27 --> 00:01:30 force and coers first Cassie and then
00:01:30 --> 00:01:33 later Jane to have SMMEX with him in
00:01:33 --> 00:01:36 front of male escorts. The defendant
00:01:36 --> 00:01:39 insisted that smecks occur in a very
00:01:39 --> 00:01:42 specific, highly orchestrated way. These
00:01:42 --> 00:01:45 sexual performances lasted multiple days
00:01:45 --> 00:01:49 and they involved multiple escorts. The
00:01:49 --> 00:01:51 defendant called these encounters
00:01:51 --> 00:01:52 different things over the years,
00:01:52 --> 00:01:55 including freakoffs, wild uh wild king
00:01:55 --> 00:01:59 nights, and hotel nights. Cassie met
00:01:59 --> 00:02:03 Combmes in 2006 when she was 19. And
00:02:03 --> 00:02:06 then uh Cassie Ventur was 19 year old.
00:02:06 --> 00:02:08 She was a 19-year-old model, aspiring
00:02:08 --> 00:02:11 singer, and had a hit song when she met
00:02:11 --> 00:02:15 uh Diddy in 2006. He was 17 years old,
00:02:15 --> 00:02:18 older than her when they met. Within a
00:02:18 --> 00:02:21 year of signing Cassie with his label,
00:02:21 --> 00:02:24 they were dating. They dated off and on
00:02:24 --> 00:02:25 until
00:02:25 --> 00:02:28 2018. The defendant starting abusing
00:02:28 --> 00:02:31 Cassie early on. Initially, Cassie
00:02:31 --> 00:02:35 fought back. Um, in
00:02:35 --> 00:02:38 2009, Diddy threw her to the floor in a
00:02:38 --> 00:02:42 SUV and stomped repeatedly repeatedly on
00:02:42 --> 00:02:45 her face. To hide her injuries, Combmes
00:02:45 --> 00:02:47 forced Cassie to stay in a hotel for the
00:02:47 --> 00:02:50 next week. She goes on to say that the
00:02:50 --> 00:02:53 defense will portray the that Diddy's
00:02:53 --> 00:02:56 relationship with Cassie Ventura um as
00:02:56 --> 00:02:58 complicated. She says that the defense
00:02:58 --> 00:03:00 will portray that Diddy's relationship
00:03:00 --> 00:03:03 as being just complicated. and
00:03:03 --> 00:03:05 mischaracterized by the
00:03:05 --> 00:03:07 prosecution. Johnson told the jurors
00:03:07 --> 00:03:09 that they will hear that they were both
00:03:10 --> 00:03:13 unfaithful, jealous, and at times angry,
00:03:13 --> 00:03:16 but only one of them had power. Only one
00:03:16 --> 00:03:19 of them had control, the lawyer says,
00:03:19 --> 00:03:22 and that was the defendant. And with
00:03:22 --> 00:03:24 that power, and with that control, he
00:03:24 --> 00:03:26 made Cassie do his bidding in those dark
00:03:26 --> 00:03:30 hotel rooms. She goes on to say, "Biddy
00:03:30 --> 00:03:32 introduced Cassie Ventur to these
00:03:32 --> 00:03:35 freakoffs early in their relationship.
00:03:35 --> 00:03:38 Half of every week, Cassie was in a dark
00:03:38 --> 00:03:41 hotel room high and awake for days
00:03:41 --> 00:03:44 performing smacks acts she did not want
00:03:44 --> 00:03:47 to do on male escorts." In another
00:03:47 --> 00:03:50 freakoff, Cassie still had an open wound
00:03:50 --> 00:03:52 on her face from the defendant's most
00:03:52 --> 00:03:55 recent assault. Um, the lawyer goes on
00:03:55 --> 00:03:58 to say that Diddy beat Vento to show who
00:03:58 --> 00:04:01 was in charge. She says he beat her when
00:04:01 --> 00:04:04 she didn't answer the phone. He beat her
00:04:04 --> 00:04:06 when she left the freak off without her
00:04:06 --> 00:04:09 um without permission. He beat her when
00:04:09 --> 00:04:10 he thought she took too long from the
00:04:10 --> 00:04:14 bathroom. When Ventur tried to run away,
00:04:14 --> 00:04:16 Diddy always found her, often with the
00:04:16 --> 00:04:19 help of his so-called inner circle.
00:04:20 --> 00:04:23 She goes on to say, um, Diddy recorded
00:04:23 --> 00:04:25 the freak offs and used them as
00:04:25 --> 00:04:28 blackmail against Cassie. He told her he
00:04:28 --> 00:04:29 could destroy her career by releasing
00:04:29 --> 00:04:33 the videos of performing smeck smecks
00:04:33 --> 00:04:36 acts on dozens and dozens of male
00:04:36 --> 00:04:39 escorts. The um lawyer goes on to say
00:04:39 --> 00:04:39 that
00:04:39 --> 00:04:44 Diddy all uh he also smeually abused one
00:04:44 --> 00:04:46 of his employees. And as I was
00:04:46 --> 00:04:47 listening, guys, they kept calling this
00:04:47 --> 00:04:53 girl uh Mia, um his ex employee. She
00:04:53 --> 00:04:57 says Combmes forced her to perform or
00:04:57 --> 00:05:01 oral smecks and snuck into her bed to
00:05:01 --> 00:05:04 penetrate her against her will. The
00:05:04 --> 00:05:06 people in Diddy Combmes inner circle
00:05:06 --> 00:05:09 worked with him to cover up his crimes,
00:05:09 --> 00:05:12 including by keeping Cassie in hiding
00:05:12 --> 00:05:15 for days and contacting witnesses. She
00:05:15 --> 00:05:18 mentioned the video from the LA hotel
00:05:18 --> 00:05:21 showing Combmes assaulting Ventura. She
00:05:21 --> 00:05:23 says you'll hear just how far the
00:05:23 --> 00:05:25 defendant, his bodyguards, and his
00:05:25 --> 00:05:28 chiefs of staff went to get what they
00:05:28 --> 00:05:31 thought was the only copy of that video.
00:05:31 --> 00:05:34 Uh she said, adding that they offered a
00:05:34 --> 00:05:37 brown paper bag with $100 in cash in
00:05:37 --> 00:05:40 attempt to cover it up.
00:05:40 --> 00:05:42 Um, she also said that the racketeering
00:05:42 --> 00:05:45 conspiracy charge against Diddy Combmes
00:05:45 --> 00:05:47 covers his alleged plans carried out
00:05:48 --> 00:05:50 with his highlevel employees and
00:05:50 --> 00:05:52 bodyguards. She says together they
00:05:52 --> 00:05:54 agreed to commit different crimes,
00:05:54 --> 00:05:57 kidnapping, arson, distribute uh
00:05:57 --> 00:05:59 distributing drugs to other people,
00:05:59 --> 00:06:02 exploiting employees for labor. Cassie
00:06:02 --> 00:06:05 Ventora and Jane will tell you how they
00:06:05 --> 00:06:07 how the defendant tried to control their
00:06:07 --> 00:06:10 lives from their homes to their careers.
00:06:10 --> 00:06:13 How the defendant used his control over
00:06:13 --> 00:06:15 them, his lies, his drugs, his threats,
00:06:15 --> 00:06:17 and his violence to threat and coerc
00:06:18 --> 00:06:21 them into having smecks with male
00:06:21 --> 00:06:25 escorts. Um Johnson added that the jury
00:06:25 --> 00:06:27 will hear from Com's personal assistant
00:06:27 --> 00:06:30 who he smeurally assaulted.
00:06:30 --> 00:06:32 Uh Johnson goes on to tell the jurors
00:06:32 --> 00:06:35 they also hear from some of Diddy
00:06:35 --> 00:06:38 Combmes other employees including an
00:06:38 --> 00:06:40 employee Combmes allegedly forced into
00:06:40 --> 00:06:44 the SUV with a gun as well as one of the
00:06:44 --> 00:06:47 chefs and other assistants. She
00:06:47 --> 00:06:49 acknowledges that some victims and
00:06:49 --> 00:06:51 witnesses have received financial
00:06:51 --> 00:06:55 settlements or still have active laws l
00:06:55 --> 00:06:58 active lawsuits against Combmes. Johnson
00:06:58 --> 00:07:01 is also describing various records that
00:07:01 --> 00:07:03 will come up during the trial, including
00:07:03 --> 00:07:05 dozens and dozens of text messages about
00:07:05 --> 00:07:08 freakoffs bills for hotel rooms, car
00:07:08 --> 00:07:11 services, and damages to hotel rooms.
00:07:11 --> 00:07:13 More texts will show Combmes directed
00:07:13 --> 00:07:15 his former girlfriend Cassie to take
00:07:16 --> 00:07:18 specific drugs before freakoffs. There
00:07:18 --> 00:07:21 will also be video evidence. You will
00:07:21 --> 00:07:23 see videos of some freakoffs. Oh boy.

00:07:26 --> 00:07:29 blackmail Cassie and to blackmail
