00:00:12 --> 00:00:20 All right, y'all, get ready for another edition of News and Trends with your host, Dave and Lynn.
00:00:24 --> 00:00:24 Welcome.
00:00:31 --> 00:00:35 Welcome, welcome to News and Trends with Dave and Lynn. Now I'm part of the
00:00:35 --> 00:00:40 MBG Podcast Network, hanging out with my partner, Mr.
00:00:40 --> 00:00:47 Leonard Young. I'm Dave Coker, promoter, event planner, all-around good guy. What's going on, man?
00:00:47 --> 00:00:51 Hey, Dave. Everything is good. No complaints. This is Leonard Young,
00:00:51 --> 00:00:56 CEO of National Black Guide, DelawareBlack.com, black media specialist,
00:00:57 --> 00:00:59 all-around good guy. How's it going, Dave?
00:01:00 --> 00:01:09 I can't complain, man. It's, you know, hanging out, just trying to make sense of the world today, man.
00:01:09 --> 00:01:13 That's all I'm trying to do. It's crazy out there. It's crazy out there in the streets, man.
00:01:15 --> 00:01:19 Don't go outside if you don't have to. I'm about to stay inside, man. Yeah.
00:01:20 --> 00:01:23 The end of the world is coming. You know what?
00:01:24 --> 00:01:29 It's funny. You know, our parents used to talk about that kind of stuff all the time.
00:01:30 --> 00:01:34 But I really believe that's happening. Because there's just too many crazy things
00:01:34 --> 00:01:36 going on right now, man. There really is.
00:01:37 --> 00:01:41 Well, Dave, we will see what happens November 5th. because that might be the,
00:01:42 --> 00:01:45 craziest thing. That might be the beginning to the end.
00:01:45 --> 00:01:52 Man, if what happens on November 5th repeats itself from 2016,
00:01:53 --> 00:01:55 I know. That's going to be crazy.
00:01:57 --> 00:02:02 Yeah. I was going to say, we thought racial tensions were bad in 2021.
00:02:03 --> 00:02:11 Well, hold on. So when did Trump finish? Oh, he finished in 20. Yeah. 2021 was the riot.
00:02:11 --> 00:02:17 Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. It's scary to think about. You know.
00:02:19 --> 00:02:25 We're, you know, I have trouble even trying to,
00:02:25 --> 00:02:34 I have trouble even trying to put it into words what could potentially happen
00:02:34 --> 00:02:35 if he gets back in office.
00:02:36 --> 00:02:43 It really, it's really not good. You know, I watched a little bit of the debate
00:02:43 --> 00:02:46 with the vice president candidates,
00:02:47 --> 00:02:53 and Vance didn't answer no questions, just like Trump.
00:02:54 --> 00:02:59 He avoided every question.
00:03:00 --> 00:03:06 Especially the, did Trump lose the election question? Yeah. Oh, yeah.
00:03:06 --> 00:03:10 That was ridiculous to answer. Dave, he's scurrying around that thing like a scared cat.
00:03:10 --> 00:03:13 He's talking about a spin doctor? Ooh, okay.
00:03:15 --> 00:03:18 And, you know, I just don't think that,
00:03:18 --> 00:03:25 you know, I just don't think that the world really understands what could potentially
00:03:25 --> 00:03:30 happen if there's a shift in power again to the other side.
00:03:31 --> 00:03:37 And, you know, I mean, you and I don't really get into too much politics on
00:03:37 --> 00:03:43 our podcast, but, you know, folks, if you believe in something strongly.
00:03:45 --> 00:03:50 And you believe in the candidate that you believe in, make sure you do your research.
00:03:50 --> 00:03:55 Make sure that you're voting for the right reasons for that candidate.
00:03:55 --> 00:04:02 And just make sure that it's who you definitely want to see in office for the next four years.
00:04:03 --> 00:04:07 Because if you put them in and they're not who you thought they were,
00:04:08 --> 00:04:12 they're not going anywhere for four years unless they do it to themselves.
00:04:12 --> 00:04:15 Themselves and you know trump has
00:04:15 --> 00:04:18 done plenty of things to himself but he's
00:04:18 --> 00:04:21 not going anywhere so i know or or or
00:04:21 --> 00:04:26 they not by choice not by we are we already know we already know they'd almost
00:04:26 --> 00:04:30 had to storm the capitol to get them out yeah yeah that's true literally that's
00:04:30 --> 00:04:37 true yeah so you know so it's going to be interesting it really is other than
00:04:37 --> 00:04:41 that we are into fall now and.
00:04:42 --> 00:04:46 The days are getting shorter we're losing less sunlight
00:04:46 --> 00:04:49 you know at the end of the day and you know
00:04:49 --> 00:04:52 it's just funny how quickly the seasons change
00:04:52 --> 00:04:58 now it's it's like you just get in the you just get in the spring well we don't
00:04:58 --> 00:05:02 have much of a spring anymore you just get in the summer and then all of a sudden
00:05:02 --> 00:05:10 see like six weeks later it's gone so you know it's just amazing so So, but here we are, folks,
00:05:10 --> 00:05:18 getting ready to brace ourselves for winter, which should be coming pretty soon.
00:05:18 --> 00:05:22 And, you know, we're going to try to carry you through that as well.
00:05:22 --> 00:05:23 The holidays are coming up, too.
00:05:23 --> 00:05:28 So, you know, most people's favorite time of year, Thanksgiving and Christmas time is coming.
00:05:28 --> 00:05:33 And New Year's. And New Year's. So there you go. So you have New Year's plans?
00:05:34 --> 00:05:37 No i do not hoping and not
00:05:37 --> 00:05:40 me i'm hoping someone's interested in throwing a new
00:05:40 --> 00:05:44 year's eve party at the campground but we'll we shall wait and see if anybody
00:05:44 --> 00:05:49 hits us up for that oh really that that might be interesting well it all depends
00:05:49 --> 00:05:53 but that's the only thing it's so funny because you don't know what the weather
00:05:53 --> 00:05:58 is going to be i know but you know we say that but the last couple new New Year's been OK.
00:05:59 --> 00:06:04 So, I mean, I don't remember snow and I do remember whether that was,
00:06:04 --> 00:06:06 you know, decent outside.
00:06:06 --> 00:06:10 But I mean, kind of like you said, you've never. Well, Dave,
00:06:10 --> 00:06:16 to be honest, from about December 15th to February 15th, you just never know, period.
00:06:16 --> 00:06:19 No, you don't. You really don't. And that's all we think of.
00:06:19 --> 00:06:21 And weather can switch up.
00:06:21 --> 00:06:27 And as a promoter, you know, the hardest time to gauge when to do a party,
00:06:28 --> 00:06:33 whether to do a party or whether or not to do a party is during the wintertime.
00:06:33 --> 00:06:35 Because you just never know what's going to happen.
00:06:36 --> 00:06:40 Right. I never forget my 50th birthday party. I must have rescheduled that three
00:06:40 --> 00:06:42 times because it snowed.
00:06:42 --> 00:06:47 It snowed two. The first two times I tried to schedule it, it snowed.
00:06:47 --> 00:06:49 Then finally it got it in on the third schedule
00:06:49 --> 00:06:52 rescheduled date but it it was almost
00:06:52 --> 00:06:55 a month later for my birthday when i finally got the
00:06:55 --> 00:07:02 party you know so but it's crazy but we'll see hey you never know maybe maybe
00:07:02 --> 00:07:07 you can get that party in the only thing is you know yeah you know gotta get
00:07:07 --> 00:07:09 people down we definitely need
00:07:09 --> 00:07:13 people in your area to come out though because you know So up this way,
00:07:13 --> 00:07:16 you know, we got the big New Year's Eve thing going on. Oh, yeah, Sam.
00:07:17 --> 00:07:20 Yeah, yeah. So that's the only thing, you know. In fact, Dave,
00:07:20 --> 00:07:22 I just talked to him this week.
00:07:23 --> 00:07:26 And it's so funny because every time I talk to him, I always call him Billionaire
00:07:26 --> 00:07:28 Bailey because he's taking all the money.
00:07:29 --> 00:07:33 You know, he's taking all the money at the campground. He's taking all the money,
00:07:33 --> 00:07:36 probably all the money from the waterfall. Yeah.
00:07:36 --> 00:07:41 Every time he is. So, I mean, just out of respect, I always call him Billionaire Bailey.
00:07:42 --> 00:07:48 Billionaire bailey then i right after that i asked for a loan and all he does
00:07:48 --> 00:07:54 is laugh right yep yeah that's all he does yeah i know i know all right well
00:07:54 --> 00:07:59 yeah well hopefully billionaire bailey will share with his buddies you know,
00:08:01 --> 00:08:08 so all right i guess uh we got a few things to talk about tonight folks uh So
00:08:08 --> 00:08:15 I guess we'll go ahead and get started with the show and our first story. Let's see.
00:08:16 --> 00:08:23 First story is actor Denzel Washington reportedly confronted Diddy at one of his parties.
00:08:23 --> 00:08:26 Now, of course, folks, you know, there's a lot of stuff. There's a lot of stuff
00:08:26 --> 00:08:30 coming up with this whole Diddy thing.
00:08:31 --> 00:08:34 And of course, we can talk about Diddy every day right now, you know,
00:08:34 --> 00:08:38 basically, you know, because until this trial is over with.
00:08:38 --> 00:08:44 And they said that there's like case lawsuits that's being filed just every
00:08:44 --> 00:08:47 day, just about right now. Oh, I'm sure.
00:08:47 --> 00:08:53 Yeah. So, I mean, Dave, think about how long Diddy has been in that since the early 1990s.
00:08:53 --> 00:08:56 That's over 30 years.
00:08:56 --> 00:09:00 Yeah. And I mean, so when they talk about thousands, I'm not surprised.
00:09:00 --> 00:09:03 I'm sure. I'm sure. Yeah. It is crazy.
00:09:03 --> 00:09:07 You know, when they talk about minors, that was actually pretty surprising.
00:09:07 --> 00:09:09 Talked about kids 10 and under.
00:09:10 --> 00:09:15 Yeah. Yeah. But then, you know, you seem to have affinity for young people.
00:09:15 --> 00:09:19 I mean, you know, when you look at two of the biggest superstars out there,
00:09:20 --> 00:09:23 you know, and he was, he had them guys around him all the time,
00:09:23 --> 00:09:28 living with him at one time, you know, and Usher and Justin Bieber,
00:09:28 --> 00:09:31 you know, so, you know, so it's just interesting.
00:09:31 --> 00:09:37 It really is that, you know, but then, you know, we've heard the stories with R.
00:09:37 --> 00:09:41 Kelly, you know, our parents just allowed their kids to go with him.
00:09:41 --> 00:09:46 And, you know, everybody's interested in trying to get their get their kid on,
00:09:46 --> 00:09:48 you know, and making that money.
00:09:48 --> 00:09:54 And you kind of close your eyes to some things, you know, or you're blind or
00:09:54 --> 00:09:56 you're blinded to some things. Yeah.
00:09:57 --> 00:10:01 Money blinded. Money blinds you. Yep. It definitely does. But anyway,
00:10:01 --> 00:10:06 the story goes in a resurfaced story from 2003.
00:10:07 --> 00:10:13 Oscar winner Denzel Washington allegedly confronted Sean Diddy Combs at one
00:10:13 --> 00:10:19 of his notorious parties, stirring fresh discussion about the music mogul's
00:10:19 --> 00:10:20 behavior over the years.
00:10:20 --> 00:10:25 According to U.S. Weekly, Washington and his white Paul letter were in attendance
00:10:25 --> 00:10:31 at an all-night gathering hosted by Diddy when an altercation occurred.
00:10:31 --> 00:10:37 Sources claimed that Washington was so angered that he stormed out after accusing
00:10:37 --> 00:10:39 Diddy of showing disrespect.
00:10:39 --> 00:10:46 According to an anonymous source, Washington shouted, you don't respect anyone
00:10:46 --> 00:10:51 before leaving the party in the early morning hours.
00:10:51 --> 00:10:59 While details about exactly what exactly triggered the actor's reaction may
00:10:59 --> 00:11:04 remain vague, the incident has gained new attention in light of Diddy's recent appearance.
00:11:05 --> 00:11:13 Legal troubles. These legal issues have renewed public interest in Diddy's past controversies.
00:11:14 --> 00:11:18 It says last month Diddy was arrested and charged with sex trafficking and racketeering,
00:11:18 --> 00:11:22 with allegations around his orchestration of controversial free-call parties,
00:11:23 --> 00:11:27 which reportedly involved non-consensual acts and drug use.
00:11:27 --> 00:11:33 The connection between the 2003 incident with Washington and Diddy,
00:11:33 --> 00:11:37 currently legal troubles remain unclear but it
00:11:37 --> 00:11:42 has added another layer to the scrutiny around the music icon's past behavior
00:11:42 --> 00:11:49 so i'm gonna stop there so apparently a lot of people are coming out talking
00:11:49 --> 00:11:55 about these parties and saying stuff that they saw happen i mean,
00:11:55 --> 00:11:59 i don't know if you've seen some of the footage from some of the parties where
00:11:59 --> 00:12:04 you see the women Women laying on tables with, you know, the food around them
00:12:04 --> 00:12:09 and they're half naked or they're fully naked, but they got things covering on them.
00:12:10 --> 00:12:15 You know, I mean, and and and when you look at the people that's in the room,
00:12:15 --> 00:12:20 these ain't little these ain't little known people, little known people.
00:12:21 --> 00:12:22 These are like Diana Ross.
00:12:23 --> 00:12:29 Right. You know, a list celebrity. Celebrities, man. I mean, and that's crazy.
00:12:30 --> 00:12:33 Yeah, it's crazy. And I'm, you know, I'm looking around and I'm like,
00:12:33 --> 00:12:36 okay, I'm seeing all these people, they're flashing in these pictures.
00:12:36 --> 00:12:42 And I'm like, and nobody seems to be fazed by a woman laying on a tray,
00:12:42 --> 00:12:47 I mean, on a table with food all around her and people just eating from her.
00:12:49 --> 00:12:53 That gives a new meaning to, what is it, to cuter report?
00:12:54 --> 00:12:57 I mean, come on. Well, Dave, you know, I think the other thing,
00:12:57 --> 00:13:03 too, is, and I mean, not knocking us, but I guess we've never been around the super rich.
00:13:04 --> 00:13:06 Like, we don't know what the super rich would be doing.
00:13:06 --> 00:13:11 And apparently, they go to parties with, you know, people laying on tables with,
00:13:11 --> 00:13:13 you know, fruits and cheese on them.
00:13:13 --> 00:13:18 Yeah, yeah. So, Dave, let me ask you a question. So, you had a party earlier today.
00:13:19 --> 00:13:26 How how how surprised would you you have been if there was somebody at this
00:13:26 --> 00:13:28 party that you went to like that?
00:13:29 --> 00:13:37 Would you walk out? I would probably be like, what the, you know, type thing.
00:13:37 --> 00:13:44 And I would just like shake my head. I don't I don't know. It depends because, I mean.
00:13:45 --> 00:13:51 I'm sure some people would be offended. And I could probably be offended from
00:13:51 --> 00:13:55 it, you know, because that's not what I'm expecting to see. You know what I mean?
00:13:55 --> 00:13:57 It's one thing if you go to a
00:13:57 --> 00:14:01 place that, you know, that could possibly be something that could happen.
00:14:01 --> 00:14:06 But you go to a strip club or someplace like that, you can probably you probably
00:14:06 --> 00:14:08 would expect something like that to happen.
00:14:08 --> 00:14:17 But if you go into a surprise birthday party and you know it's for an older
00:14:17 --> 00:14:20 person and so forth and so forth,
00:14:20 --> 00:14:24 and you're not expecting to see some young girl laying on a table naked.
00:14:25 --> 00:14:27 You know what I'm saying? Yeah, exactly. Yeah.
00:14:28 --> 00:14:34 And if I did see that, I'd be like, okay, are you trying to give somebody a
00:14:34 --> 00:14:37 birthday or are you trying to send them to an early grave?
00:14:37 --> 00:14:44 You know so so i don't know i just think the world is is just different because
00:14:44 --> 00:14:48 like i said when you see the celebrities in those pictures and you see the people
00:14:48 --> 00:14:52 land you see the girls land there and you see the celebrities in the picture
00:14:52 --> 00:14:54 and nobody seemed to be fazed by this,
00:14:54 --> 00:15:01 that says a lot it really does a lot you know it's funny because the one thing that kind of
00:15:02 --> 00:15:05 bringing back to the article you know it's funny
00:15:05 --> 00:15:12 because denzel i like everything you read i see him doing exactly that and and
00:15:12 --> 00:15:16 it kind of makes me think about even yeah but you know also going to confront
00:15:16 --> 00:15:21 him too because you know and think about it in every denzel movie you know denzel
00:15:21 --> 00:15:24 don't take no crap no you know so you know it.
00:15:26 --> 00:15:32 I guess it's odd, but interesting to hear that, you know, he's the same way in real life, you know?
00:15:32 --> 00:15:40 Yeah. And I'm sure, you know, he wouldn't allow Diddy to intimidate him in any kind of way.
00:15:40 --> 00:15:45 I just don't see that happening with Denzel, you know, like him, Samuel L. Jackson.
00:15:45 --> 00:15:48 You ain't messing with them, dude. You know what I'm talking about?
00:15:48 --> 00:15:52 You know, you're not going to intimidate either one of those guys, you know?
00:15:52 --> 00:15:55 So i could see i could
00:15:55 --> 00:15:58 see i could see denzel saying man
00:15:58 --> 00:16:04 are you crazy what are you doing you know right right you know you know i i
00:16:04 --> 00:16:09 could see that or it could have been one of them parties that one of them maybe
00:16:09 --> 00:16:17 at what 2003 uh how old is beaver now but that was 20 years That was 21 years ago.
00:16:17 --> 00:16:24 So, you know, well, I don't think he's in his 40s yet. Oh, Bieber?
00:16:24 --> 00:16:28 Yeah, he's probably, what, 30-something, right? So maybe he was at a party.
00:16:29 --> 00:16:33 Maybe he was there and maybe he was too young to be there and had all that stuff
00:16:33 --> 00:16:35 going on. You know what I mean?
00:16:35 --> 00:16:40 Justin Bieber is 30 years old. Oh, well, there you go. 21 years ago, he was 19.
00:16:42 --> 00:16:47 Yeah, well, you know, Denzel still probably would have had a problem with it. you know? So, yeah.
00:16:48 --> 00:16:51 I don't know. I'm sure it's going to come out sooner or later,
00:16:51 --> 00:16:55 but I did, you know, you figured it for Denzel and, you know,
00:16:55 --> 00:16:56 Denzel had his wife with him.
00:16:56 --> 00:17:01 You figure if he, you know, if he got offended and got into it with Diddy,
00:17:01 --> 00:17:04 that it had to be something that he definitely did not approve,
00:17:04 --> 00:17:05 you know? Yeah, no, I agree.
00:17:06 --> 00:17:11 Yeah. And Denzel seemed like that guy, you know, that gets all the respect in Hollywood.
00:17:11 --> 00:17:14 Oh, I'm sure. sure yeah you know yeah because
00:17:14 --> 00:17:17 you know when will smack when will
00:17:17 --> 00:17:20 smack chris rock who was who was there you know
00:17:20 --> 00:17:23 talking to will remember denzel was one of the guys that
00:17:23 --> 00:17:27 was over there talking to will about what just happened right you
00:17:27 --> 00:17:30 know so that's what i'm saying you know so
00:17:30 --> 00:17:34 he don't seem like it would be you know i'm sure
00:17:34 --> 00:17:37 if the exchange happened denzel probably told
00:17:37 --> 00:17:40 diddy you know some crazy mess
00:17:40 --> 00:17:44 like man this ain't right you know
00:17:44 --> 00:17:47 you can't be doing this kind of stuff come on pauletta
00:17:47 --> 00:17:55 let's get out of here you know something like that you know so but i get i'm
00:17:55 --> 00:17:58 sure it's going to come out folks i'm sure we're going to hear about what was
00:17:58 --> 00:18:03 said at some point because i've heard this story a few times and i'm just waiting
00:18:03 --> 00:18:06 for somebody to say or whether Denzel,
00:18:06 --> 00:18:08 I don't know, Denzel probably won't say what happened.
00:18:08 --> 00:18:11 But probably somebody who was there probably will.
00:18:12 --> 00:18:14 But, you know, Dave, I also think a lot of these celebrities,
00:18:15 --> 00:18:16 and I mean, I think it's hard.
00:18:17 --> 00:18:20 A lot of these people who may have been at these parties ever,
00:18:20 --> 00:18:24 whether anything happened or not, you know, I think a lot of them need to probably
00:18:24 --> 00:18:28 jump ahead of this gun instead of be behind it.
00:18:28 --> 00:18:32 Yeah. You know, so, I mean, I think a lot of them need to start speaking in
00:18:32 --> 00:18:36 advance and like, hey, you know, I was there, I saw this, this happened,
00:18:37 --> 00:18:43 cause you know, I feel like it looks bad if they're just quiet and then it comes out about them.
00:18:44 --> 00:18:50 You know, a lot of our favorites may get thrown under the bus.
00:18:50 --> 00:18:54 That's what they're saying, because they're saying there's names that are bigger,
00:18:54 --> 00:19:00 you know, there's bigger and more famous and richer people than Diddy that's
00:19:00 --> 00:19:01 involved in this, you know.
00:19:01 --> 00:19:09 And I know one name that's already come out that I think is definitely,
00:19:09 --> 00:19:15 if not the orchestrator, one of the co-conspirators.
00:19:15 --> 00:19:17 All right. Who is it? Clive Davis.
00:19:18 --> 00:19:21 Ah, yeah. And look, and think about it.
00:19:21 --> 00:19:27 Look at all the people that have died under his watch, if you think about it.
00:19:27 --> 00:19:29 But now, you know, he brought Puffy on.
00:19:29 --> 00:19:34 He gave, you know, supposedly he gave Puffy the money to start Bad Boy, you know.
00:19:34 --> 00:19:39 So if you think about it, you know, Whitney was under him.
00:19:40 --> 00:19:45 Phyllis Hyman was under him. You know, you know, Biggie was under,
00:19:45 --> 00:19:48 you know, under him because of Bad Boy.
00:19:49 --> 00:19:55 I mean, you know, Tupac, you know, Tupac, he had ties to Tupac as well.
00:19:55 --> 00:20:01 Who else? I mean, all these people that are gone, you know, I'm just telling
00:20:01 --> 00:20:05 you, Clive Davis, they tried to talk to him on TMZ one night.
00:20:05 --> 00:20:08 TMZ was not having it. No, Clive Davis.
00:20:08 --> 00:20:11 Are you talking about recently since? Yeah, recently. Okay.
00:20:12 --> 00:20:15 Yeah, it was recently. They saw him on the street and they tried to talk to
00:20:15 --> 00:20:17 him. Clive Davis wouldn't open his mouth.
00:20:18 --> 00:20:21 I'm sure. Yeah. So we'll see.
00:20:22 --> 00:20:26 Watch. I bet you that name comes out at some point. and of course you know everybody's
00:20:26 --> 00:20:35 up there pointing at how quiet the guy that's married to Miss Beyonce is being too you know so,
00:20:36 --> 00:20:38 because we know he knows something right.
00:20:39 --> 00:20:42 So anyway, we shall see. We shall see. We shall see.
00:20:43 --> 00:20:47 All right. Moving on to our next story. I thought this was strange.
00:20:47 --> 00:20:51 We talked about this a little bit last week about this particular story.
00:20:52 --> 00:20:58 And, well, not so much around the story, but, you know, it has been talked about.
00:20:58 --> 00:21:03 There is a story around this particular person's death. Yeah.
00:21:03 --> 00:21:06 So Mr. John Amos passed away.
00:21:07 --> 00:21:11 Now, we thought when we you know, because it was just announced last week that
00:21:11 --> 00:21:12 it just happened last week.
00:21:13 --> 00:21:18 But we're finding out that it didn't happen the day that they said it happened,
00:21:18 --> 00:21:19 that it happened prior to that.
00:21:20 --> 00:21:25 So now there's a lot of controversy around the story of what really happened with him.
00:21:25 --> 00:21:31 And why was there a delay in talking about his death? Yeah.
00:21:31 --> 00:21:34 So I wanted to share a little bit of this.
00:21:34 --> 00:21:40 It says John Amos died from heart failure and was cremated nine days after his death.
00:21:41 --> 00:21:47 So it says here that John Amos, the iconic actor known for his groundbreaking
00:21:47 --> 00:21:50 roles in television and film,
00:21:50 --> 00:22:00 passed away more than a month ago on August the 21st at the age of 83 and was
00:22:00 --> 00:22:02 cremated shortly after his death.
00:22:03 --> 00:22:07 According to TMZ, here we go. If a TMZ says it, you know.
00:22:08 --> 00:22:14 Anyway, his passing caused by congestive heart failure was recorded at Englewood
00:22:14 --> 00:22:17 Hospital, according to his death certificate.
00:22:18 --> 00:22:26 Amos left behind a remarkable legacy, particularly for his portrayal of James Evans Sr.
00:22:26 --> 00:22:33 In the beloved TV series Good Times, a role that made him a household name in the 70s.
00:22:34 --> 00:22:40 His significant contribution to African-American representation in Hollywood
00:22:40 --> 00:22:43 makes his loss deeply felt within the community.
00:22:43 --> 00:22:50 He said that he starred in numerous films, including Roots as Kunta Kinte,
00:22:50 --> 00:22:56 an adult counterpart, a role that earned him widespread acclaim.
00:22:58 --> 00:23:05 Amos also played pivotal roles in movies such as Coming to America and Coming to America 2.
00:23:06 --> 00:23:12 It says, however, his death has stirred family tension as a feud between his
00:23:12 --> 00:23:16 children, Casey and Shannon Amos, has resurfaced.
00:23:16 --> 00:23:22 The death certificate lists Casey, also known as Kelly Christopher Amos,
00:23:22 --> 00:23:27 as the informant who reported his father's passing to the authorities.
00:23:28 --> 00:23:32 Shannon, John's daughter, claims she was unaware of her father's death until
00:23:32 --> 00:23:38 it was publicly announced, exacerbating the ongoing rift between the siblings.
00:23:38 --> 00:23:41 The dispute between Casey and Shannon is not new.
00:23:41 --> 00:23:47 Shannon previously accused her brother of elder abuse, a claim that was later
00:23:47 --> 00:23:49 dismissed by the authorities.
00:23:49 --> 00:23:54 This family drama has now raised speculation about the possible legal battle
00:23:54 --> 00:24:01 over John's estate, with tensions likely to escalate in the aftermath of his passing.
00:24:01 --> 00:24:04 The death certificate shows no autopsy was performed.
00:24:05 --> 00:24:09 John Amos remains were cremated just nine days after his death.
00:24:09 --> 00:24:17 The ashes are reportedly in the possession of his son, KC, marking yet another
00:24:17 --> 00:24:22 pivotal or potential point of contention between the siblings.
00:24:23 --> 00:24:27 The feud, also coupled with the legalities surrounding the estate,
00:24:27 --> 00:24:32 may continue to evolve in the wake of his death. So.
00:24:33 --> 00:24:40 He died on August 21st, not when it was announced last week,
00:24:41 --> 00:24:46 which is very interesting because why were we not made aware of it then?
00:24:47 --> 00:24:51 And is this basically because of the two?
00:24:51 --> 00:24:54 Because they can't see eye to eye on things.
00:24:56 --> 00:25:02 But it seems like every time we turn around when there's a big name celebrity
00:25:02 --> 00:25:07 that dies there's always a lot of controversy anymore on their estate what's your thoughts on this,
00:25:08 --> 00:25:13 so you know they i i feel like my first thought is and i know you said why were we not notified,
00:25:14 --> 00:25:17 you know to play the other side why why should we
00:25:17 --> 00:25:20 be notified you know and you know i'm just
00:25:20 --> 00:25:23 thing about like when a loved one dies you know and
00:25:23 --> 00:25:26 and i understand john was a celebrity and he
00:25:26 --> 00:25:29 was loved by all but you know the family doesn't
00:25:29 --> 00:25:32 have any obligation to tell anybody or to
00:25:32 --> 00:25:35 let anybody know or tell the details or you know
00:25:35 --> 00:25:37 tell you know what happened and i almost
00:25:37 --> 00:25:41 kind of think in the same way of okay you
00:25:41 --> 00:25:44 know back in the day when there were some celebrities who died
00:25:44 --> 00:25:47 aids you know the family would say something else and
00:25:47 --> 00:25:51 then later it came out it was aids and people be like oh why y'all ain't
00:25:51 --> 00:25:53 tell us you know why did they
00:25:53 --> 00:25:57 have to or dave you know what i see a lot now women dying
00:25:57 --> 00:26:04 from all these like surgery surgical enhancements right and you know of course
00:26:04 --> 00:26:08 you know nobody family won't be like he should die from getting a butt you know
00:26:08 --> 00:26:14 a butt implant but i mean to be honest i don't feel like the family has any
00:26:14 --> 00:26:17 obligation to let us know in a timely manner.
00:26:18 --> 00:26:23 What I think it is, I think we're just so used to hearing about it and,
00:26:23 --> 00:26:24 you know, we're just nosy.
00:26:24 --> 00:26:28 You know, I feel like we want to know for our own personal reasons,
00:26:28 --> 00:26:32 but, you know, all the people who say they want to hear about John Amos,
00:26:32 --> 00:26:37 you know, none of them are, and I mean, donating money to the family,
00:26:37 --> 00:26:40 probably nobody's checking on the family, nobody's, you know,
00:26:40 --> 00:26:42 sending flowers or anything like that.
00:26:42 --> 00:26:47 You know, we're doing it just so we can, I mean, not to say we can talk about
00:26:47 --> 00:26:52 our news and trends, but, you know, I mean, just doing it for our own selfish reasons.
00:26:52 --> 00:26:55 Now, as far as the second part, I mean, I do agree.
00:26:56 --> 00:27:00 You know, I think back in the day, I feel like families were different when
00:27:00 --> 00:27:04 people passed away, but I feel like now when people pass away,
00:27:04 --> 00:27:08 you know, people just come out the woodwork trying to get what they can get.
00:27:08 --> 00:27:12 And, you know, I'm curious how this legal battle will go if it's not already
00:27:12 --> 00:27:14 solved and maybe we know about it,
00:27:14 --> 00:27:20 maybe not but yeah I mean they hope hopefully when we die ain't nobody trying
00:27:20 --> 00:27:23 to legally battle our our,
00:27:24 --> 00:27:30 offspring and trying to take what they can get yeah well you know I'm sure that you know.
00:27:32 --> 00:27:37 I used to always kid, I used to tell my sister, I said, look,
00:27:37 --> 00:27:42 if somebody comes up to you and says, you know, I'm David Coker's child.
00:27:43 --> 00:27:45 Long lost, long lost son?
00:27:46 --> 00:27:51 Yeah, or daughter. I'll be like, look, don't believe the hype.
00:27:52 --> 00:27:58 You know, you don't, you look, you, the children you know about is all I know about.
00:28:00 --> 00:28:05 Hopefully. Yeah. Well, no, if I don't know about them, I don't know about them.
00:28:05 --> 00:28:07 When I die, I don't know about them. Oh, yeah. Yeah. OK.
00:28:07 --> 00:28:11 OK. So that's what I'm saying. I got it. I got it. Yeah.
00:28:11 --> 00:28:14 Yeah. So but it is what it is.
00:28:14 --> 00:28:18 I mean, you know, it seemed like, you know, I always think about what happened
00:28:18 --> 00:28:22 with Prince and, you know, James Brown.
00:28:22 --> 00:28:33 And you know michael had already put his it had set up trust funds for his children but you know.
00:28:35 --> 00:28:41 But even still there was a lot of controversy around that because you know all
00:28:41 --> 00:28:45 the money was left to his kids yeah you know that they can have by you know
00:28:45 --> 00:28:48 when they turn a certain age but his His mother was made a conservative of it.
00:28:49 --> 00:28:52 But, you know, his siblings didn't get anything, supposedly,
00:28:53 --> 00:28:56 from what they said. You know, everything went to the kids.
00:28:56 --> 00:29:00 Yeah. But, you know, I almost feel like most people, when they pass away,
00:29:00 --> 00:29:02 everything goes to the kids.
00:29:03 --> 00:29:10 Yeah. Yeah. Unless there was somebody. I mean, kids are parents.
00:29:10 --> 00:29:14 You know, I feel like most of the time the siblings aren't included unless they're
00:29:14 --> 00:29:16 like super duper rich or they're super, super tight.
00:29:17 --> 00:29:23 Right, right, right. So, yeah, it's, it's, yeah, well, you know,
00:29:23 --> 00:29:24 anytime there's money involved,
00:29:24 --> 00:29:32 you know, I mean, I think to myself, you know, with things that I have in place,
00:29:32 --> 00:29:36 you know, if, if and when I die,
00:29:36 --> 00:29:39 well, when I die, I'm put it that way, you know, the stuff that,
00:29:39 --> 00:29:44 you know, the policies and all that kind of stuff, pensions and all that kind
00:29:44 --> 00:29:48 of stuff, you know, that you put in place for your loved ones and everything,
00:29:49 --> 00:29:52 you know, you're always wondering how...
00:29:53 --> 00:29:55 You know, you tell yourself, OK, how are they going to react with what they
00:29:55 --> 00:29:58 know, what they get, that type of thing.
00:29:59 --> 00:30:03 Will they be happy or will they be sad? You know, that's right.
00:30:03 --> 00:30:07 Yeah. Well, Dave, so I guess the question is, do you care?
00:30:07 --> 00:30:12 Because I won't. Well, somebody could say if you really cared how they felt,
00:30:12 --> 00:30:15 you would try to give them more or make it right.
00:30:17 --> 00:30:20 Well, do you really ever think that you're giving them enough?
00:30:21 --> 00:30:27 Oh, probably not. Yeah, there you go. That's the problem. And do your kids ever
00:30:27 --> 00:30:28 think they're getting enough?
00:30:28 --> 00:30:37 Oh, no. And as the world goes and more and more technology and everything is put in place.
00:30:38 --> 00:30:44 And of course, with that type of stuff comes more expensive things and cost
00:30:44 --> 00:30:45 and all that kind of stuff.
00:30:45 --> 00:30:52 So it may not be what you may think is fine for you won't be fine for them.
00:30:52 --> 00:30:58 You know, I mean, you know, you came up during the time and I can't.
00:30:58 --> 00:31:02 And I especially came up during the time that if somebody gave us twenty thousand
00:31:02 --> 00:31:06 dollars, we can make that twenty thousand dollars stretch for a while.
00:31:06 --> 00:31:12 If you know, you know, but twenty thousand dollars to most of these kids ain't nothing.
00:31:13 --> 00:31:15 That's like that's like a thousand dollars to them you know
00:31:15 --> 00:31:19 what i mean and then they'll take it and blow it right away i
00:31:19 --> 00:31:22 mean think about it they can spend twenty thousand dollars
00:31:22 --> 00:31:25 in a couple of hours yeah no i mean i agree but
00:31:25 --> 00:31:28 you know i think it was different too because they didn't
00:31:28 --> 00:31:31 have access to the internet like we do yeah because
00:31:31 --> 00:31:34 i mean they some of these kids who
00:31:34 --> 00:31:37 are gamers fortnight and robux blocks
00:31:37 --> 00:31:40 you know they can probably go through
00:31:40 --> 00:31:43 two three hundred dollars a night on those just you know
00:31:43 --> 00:31:46 and and not even care that's true
00:31:46 --> 00:31:53 that is true and that's what i'm saying that's why you know whatever going back
00:31:53 --> 00:31:59 to the story what mr amos's state is and what he was left i'm sure that's going
00:31:59 --> 00:32:06 to be a big thing of contention with these two children because Because, you know,
00:32:06 --> 00:32:12 I know there's been a lot of issues with especially the accusations that the
00:32:12 --> 00:32:13 daughter is made against the son.
00:32:14 --> 00:32:15 But yet being like.
00:32:16 --> 00:32:20 He stayed with the son for some reason, you know, that, you know,
00:32:20 --> 00:32:22 that the daughter was never able to get.
00:32:23 --> 00:32:28 Him to be with her, you know? So I don't know why, but that's what happened.
00:32:28 --> 00:32:34 So it's a shame, you know, when you look at people like John Amos,
00:32:34 --> 00:32:38 who's always one of our favorite actors, you know, and so forth,
00:32:38 --> 00:32:41 and you look at what's going on now,
00:32:41 --> 00:32:47 you know, just the fact that, you know, he's been dead over a month and we're
00:32:47 --> 00:32:53 just finding out that he died and, you know, there's a story behind it.
00:32:53 --> 00:32:56 And I'm sure that there's going to be a lot that's going to come out.
00:32:56 --> 00:33:02 So, but I just wanted to kind of share that background because,
00:33:02 --> 00:33:08 you know, of course, you know, a lot of people started hearing about that he
00:33:08 --> 00:33:11 had been dead for a while after it was announced. So, right.
00:33:12 --> 00:33:16 So, all right. But I'm sure we'll hear more. I'm sure.
00:33:17 --> 00:33:20 So, but all right, let's move on to our next story.
00:33:20 --> 00:33:24 All right. So Dave, for the next story, and I thought this was interesting too,
00:33:24 --> 00:33:26 and I actually can't believe this is still happening.
00:33:27 --> 00:33:33 So in Atlanta, there's a person named Sir Major Page,
00:33:34 --> 00:33:44 and he was a self-proclaimed activist who said that he had started a Black Lives
00:33:44 --> 00:33:47 Matter nonprofit organization in Atlanta,
00:33:47 --> 00:33:50 and he ended up defrauding donors.
00:33:51 --> 00:33:57 So basically what happened was, I guess, around 2020, he set up a page called
00:33:57 --> 00:33:59 Black Lives Matter of Greater Atlanta.
00:34:00 --> 00:34:05 And through this page, he accepted and solicited donations.
00:34:06 --> 00:34:15 And of course, these donations were associated with the cause to support efforts
00:34:15 --> 00:34:20 around George Floyd, other just social justice issues.
00:34:20 --> 00:34:26 And over the course of, I'm trying to see how long they say.
00:34:26 --> 00:34:33 So over the course of about two to three years, he received over $467 dollars in donations.
00:34:34 --> 00:34:39 He transferred all that to a bank account that was in the name of Black Lives
00:34:39 --> 00:34:41 Matter of Greater Atlanta.
00:34:41 --> 00:34:45 Of course, the FBI were the people who arrested him.
00:34:46 --> 00:34:52 So via the page, he was saying that, and this is exactly what he said on the page.
00:34:52 --> 00:34:56 He said, none of the funds have been used for personal items.
00:34:56 --> 00:35:01 All funds were used for movement-related issues.
00:35:02 --> 00:35:09 So they said the largest single purchase he made, he made a purchase via a title company.
00:35:09 --> 00:35:14 He bought a house in Toledo, Ohio for $112.
00:35:16 --> 00:35:18 And, you know, of course, he was arrested. But, you know, Dave,
00:35:19 --> 00:35:24 I mean, it's really sad because so many people like, you know,
00:35:24 --> 00:35:26 of course, we talk about the PPP loans.
00:35:26 --> 00:35:31 So many people who receive money during the pandemic or set up,
00:35:31 --> 00:35:33 you know, nonprofits during the pandemic.
00:35:34 --> 00:35:39 And I'm sorry, I won't say so many, but there's a portion of people that specifically
00:35:39 --> 00:35:45 look to scan people who are donating money, giving money, giving services.
00:35:46 --> 00:35:52 And I mean, you know, it it almost gives a bad taste to the the name Black Lives
00:35:52 --> 00:35:55 Matter as an organization that is.
00:35:56 --> 00:36:00 Well, that's true. That's true. And there was a lot of there was a lot of fraud
00:36:00 --> 00:36:05 that went on around them, especially during the pandemic, because of something.
00:36:05 --> 00:36:09 That's when there was a lot of things going on, money floating around. Right.
00:36:10 --> 00:36:15 And you had you had people that I've heard of the stories of people who were
00:36:15 --> 00:36:22 posing as Black Lives Matter chapters, you know, in different areas to solicit money.
00:36:23 --> 00:36:28 And they were soliciting money with no attentions on, you know,
00:36:28 --> 00:36:29 giving that money towards the movement.
00:36:30 --> 00:36:33 You know, they were just scamming people for money.
00:36:34 --> 00:36:41 There was even somebody I read who had gotten one of those PPD loans.
00:36:41 --> 00:36:48 What was it? PPD? Yeah, no, PPP. PPP loans. And got like $100.
00:36:50 --> 00:36:56 And said they were a Black Lives Matter group. And they wasn't.
00:36:58 --> 00:37:03 And they got the $100. And get this letter. They were white.
00:37:04 --> 00:37:08 Wow yeah so it was so they
00:37:08 --> 00:37:13 disposed they disposed as black people they gave black names and everything
00:37:13 --> 00:37:19 you know i remember reading this story they they made up these black names made
00:37:19 --> 00:37:26 up you know the the whole black lives matter chapter you know sent filled out the paperwork,
00:37:27 --> 00:37:30 even had a website showing a bunch of black people
00:37:30 --> 00:37:32 you know on different things or whatever
00:37:32 --> 00:37:35 right and they got the money a hundred thousand
00:37:35 --> 00:37:39 dollars and all of it was fake they none
00:37:39 --> 00:37:47 of they they they caught on because somebody who was involved in the whole scam
00:37:47 --> 00:37:54 got left out of you know didn't get a piece of the pot and you know you know
00:37:54 --> 00:37:56 with that you know you ain't gonna,
00:37:56 --> 00:38:00 And they they squealed on everybody. Wow.
00:38:00 --> 00:38:05 Yep. Those people were getting like the leader was getting death threats because
00:38:05 --> 00:38:07 a bunch of black people wanted to get them.
00:38:07 --> 00:38:10 You know, it was crazy, man. Yeah. Yeah.
00:38:11 --> 00:38:15 Read about that that i started laughing i said man the
00:38:15 --> 00:38:18 world is just going crazy it really is and and
00:38:18 --> 00:38:21 dave even with that the scammers now are
00:38:21 --> 00:38:24 out of control scammers are out of control i mean they
00:38:24 --> 00:38:30 are and and i mean nothing against our listeners who live in atlanta you know
00:38:30 --> 00:38:33 i'm sure dave's been there before i've been there before yeah i've been in atlanta
00:38:33 --> 00:38:38 yeah why why why do i why do many people consider atlanta like the scamming
00:38:38 --> 00:38:43 capital of the united states why is that Leonard.
00:38:44 --> 00:38:57 Atlanta don't get in trouble Dave be careful I know I set you up with that one I know,
00:38:58 --> 00:39:07 but you know why you know what's going on down in Atlanta man nothing appears as it seems you know that,
00:39:07 --> 00:39:11 wait and we're saying that there's a lot of fakeness
00:39:11 --> 00:39:14 there's a lot of fakeness in atlanta and
00:39:14 --> 00:39:17 i hate to say that because i you know atlanta is a nice place
00:39:17 --> 00:39:21 yeah i finally started looking at fight night
00:39:21 --> 00:39:25 with kevin hart and and samuel jackson
00:39:25 --> 00:39:29 and you know this all
00:39:29 --> 00:39:32 takes place right around the the time that atlanta is
00:39:32 --> 00:39:35 on the come up and becoming like the the
00:39:35 --> 00:39:38 the black mecca of the
00:39:38 --> 00:39:45 south you know i mean and you could see you know kind of how it was itching
00:39:45 --> 00:39:54 to become big down there you know doing doing a movie and now man when you look
00:39:54 --> 00:39:57 at all that goes on down there And, you know,
00:39:57 --> 00:40:00 how many different reality series are taking place? All of them.
00:40:01 --> 00:40:03 Millions. You know, yeah, it's crazy.
00:40:05 --> 00:40:08 You can be whatever you want to be in Atlanta.
00:40:09 --> 00:40:14 And so, I mean, think about it. Yeah. I mean, name it, you can be it.
00:40:14 --> 00:40:18 Yeah, you can name it and claim it. You know what I'm saying?
00:40:19 --> 00:40:24 And so that's why you got so many scammers coming from down in that area.
00:40:24 --> 00:40:31 You know, who is that? The guy who was a billionaire that was doing the veneers.
00:40:32 --> 00:40:36 Oh, yes. Yes. I did see that. They got arrested.
00:40:37 --> 00:40:42 Had no license in dentistry. Never went to school. Never went to school.
00:40:42 --> 00:40:47 Nope. Started doing these veneers and all this stuff and was charging top dollar.
00:40:48 --> 00:40:53 And turned out they busted him because they found out that he was a fake.
00:40:53 --> 00:40:58 You know? And plus it was causing people's teeth to fall out and all of this kind of stuff.
00:40:59 --> 00:41:02 Yeah, man, it's crazy. You can do anything you want down there.
00:41:02 --> 00:41:04 And he became a billionaire off of this.
00:41:06 --> 00:41:10 Oh, he was a billionaire from doing these teeth.
00:41:11 --> 00:41:16 Wow. You know, so that Dr. Heavenly, you heard of Dr. Heavenly? Yeah. Yeah.
00:41:17 --> 00:41:23 They said he gets what? 30 to $50 for doing veneers.
00:41:24 --> 00:41:28 But I mean, she's not scamming people, right? No, no, no. She's legit.
00:41:29 --> 00:41:31 She's legit. But she down there making some money, though. Yeah.
00:41:32 --> 00:41:36 Well, the one thing I can say about Atlanta, I guess we can leave on a good note.
00:41:36 --> 00:41:41 It did say that Atlanta was one of the best places for black businesses.
00:41:41 --> 00:41:44 And, you know, and, and I, I think we can definitely see that.
00:41:44 --> 00:41:52 And they, there are a ton of successful black people in Atlanta, like a ton, a ton, a ton.
00:41:52 --> 00:41:57 And, and not just, and a lot of successful young black people now.
00:41:57 --> 00:42:00 Yes. And specifically black women.
00:42:00 --> 00:42:05 Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Some of the top, some of the, some of the top millionaire,
00:42:05 --> 00:42:08 Young millionaire, young millionaires are down there in Atlanta.
00:42:08 --> 00:42:15 Yeah. So, yeah. So it's, you know, we're just in a different day and time, Leonard. We really are.
00:42:16 --> 00:42:20 And for people, everybody has a way that they want to get rich quick.
00:42:21 --> 00:42:28 And, you know, you know, it's just like your, your, your presidential candidate, Mr.
00:42:28 --> 00:42:32 Trump is out there selling those coins for a hundred thousand dollars,
00:42:32 --> 00:42:36 you know, and And, you know, people are going to buy them. Yeah.
00:42:36 --> 00:42:41 You know, so it's just it's just unbelievable.
00:42:41 --> 00:42:48 But anyway, that whole situation with the story that you that you talked about. Yeah. With Sir Major.
00:42:49 --> 00:42:54 And, you know, they say, you know, I would say another thing real quick.
00:42:54 --> 00:43:00 You know, I think we have to be smart about giving money to people that we have never seen.
00:43:00 --> 00:43:03 So, you know, I mean, Black Lives Matter. matter
00:43:03 --> 00:43:06 i definitely agree with that you know i think how everything was
00:43:06 --> 00:43:09 initially founded was a very purposeful
00:43:09 --> 00:43:12 and very neat at the time but they i
00:43:12 --> 00:43:16 don't know if i would give money to an organization that i never met anybody
00:43:16 --> 00:43:24 personally from you know or just to be given to them just because yeah i mean
00:43:24 --> 00:43:28 just to be given one name alone or giving to an organization that I haven't
00:43:28 --> 00:43:30 seen like actual like on the ground move.
00:43:31 --> 00:43:33 Look, I would be honest with you. I'm going to have trouble.
00:43:33 --> 00:43:36 I have trouble giving to organization. Dad,
00:43:40 --> 00:43:44 think about it. You never know these days. So no, I mean, you,
00:43:44 --> 00:43:48 you don't. Yeah. You never know. So.
00:43:49 --> 00:43:54 But I guess I guess we'll find out about that story as it keeps.
00:43:56 --> 00:43:59 Well, you got three and a half years. So, yeah, I mean, you know,
00:43:59 --> 00:44:02 look here, Dave, let's set a calendar.
00:44:02 --> 00:44:06 We're going to follow up. And so is that twenty five, twenty six, twenty seven?
00:44:06 --> 00:44:11 Yeah, we're going to follow up in April of twenty twenty eight.
00:44:11 --> 00:44:16 OK, let's hope let's hope that he doesn't meet anybody who's in jail.
00:44:16 --> 00:44:25 All that family got scammed out of some of the money yeah yeah so man i tell you the world man,
00:44:26 --> 00:44:32 we're in a whole different day and time bro we are all right moving on to our next story,
00:44:33 --> 00:44:37 i came across this and i just wanted to speak a little bit about this because
00:44:37 --> 00:44:43 i hear a lot about you know women that are going through postpartum.
00:44:44 --> 00:44:46 And not knowing how to deal with it.
00:44:47 --> 00:44:50 There was a young lady on my job that was talking about, you know,
00:44:50 --> 00:44:53 that she went through it and how hard it was for her.
00:44:53 --> 00:44:59 It's just a lot, you know, from what I, you know, and we got to definitely want
00:44:59 --> 00:45:07 to know the information that we need to know in order to be able to do better with this.
00:45:07 --> 00:45:12 And for men to be able to help their significant others get through this.
00:45:12 --> 00:45:21 So, but this is a webinar to teach African-American postpartum traditions that save mothers.
00:45:22 --> 00:45:24 It says that.
00:45:27 --> 00:45:36 There's a training that is announced that they have an upcoming practicing African-American
00:45:36 --> 00:45:42 postpartum care webinar scheduled for October the 17th.
00:45:42 --> 00:45:51 The online webinar offers valuable insights into African-American postpartum
00:45:51 --> 00:45:57 traditions and provides practical guidance to improve maternal outcomes and
00:45:57 --> 00:46:00 reduce postpartum illnesses.
00:46:01 --> 00:46:08 It's a solution to maternal morbidity. The webinar will dive into the deep-rooted
00:46:08 --> 00:46:14 African-American postpartum traditions that extend far beyond the conventional
00:46:14 --> 00:46:19 six-week recovery period recognized by Western medicine.
00:46:19 --> 00:46:24 It will also explore how these traditions extend into a full year postpartum
00:46:24 --> 00:46:32 recovery period for new mothers that reduces maternal morbidities while nurturing
00:46:32 --> 00:46:37 both their physical and emotional well-being as well as creating wellness.
00:46:37 --> 00:46:43 The webinar provides a comprehensive overview of holistic postpartum care practices,
00:46:43 --> 00:46:47 including the preparation of nourishing foods,
00:46:48 --> 00:46:54 identifying signs of postpartum depression, and strengthening family bonds.
00:46:54 --> 00:47:01 It says, what we know, research shows postpartum care is executive in reducing
00:47:01 --> 00:47:03 symptoms of depression,
00:47:03 --> 00:47:06 improving breastfeeding outcomes,
00:47:06 --> 00:47:10 and supporting new mothers through their transition into parenthood.
00:47:10 --> 00:47:16 The webinar provides participants with the tools needed to ensure new mothers
00:47:16 --> 00:47:24 feel validated, supported, and celebrated during their sacred period following childbirth.
00:47:26 --> 00:47:31 The trainer for this webinar will be Shafia Monroe, an internationally recognized
00:47:31 --> 00:47:33 midwife and doula trainer,
00:47:33 --> 00:47:39 bringing over 40 years of experience in advocating for comprehensive maternal
00:47:39 --> 00:47:43 and postpartum care to improve birth outcomes.
00:47:44 --> 00:47:48 And I'm going to read this last part. Excuse me.
00:47:48 --> 00:47:53 In the webinar, participants will learn the historical and cultural significance
00:47:53 --> 00:47:57 of African-American postpartum traditions,
00:47:57 --> 00:48:02 strategies for supporting emotional and physical recoveries after childbirth,
00:48:02 --> 00:48:08 the role of family and birth workers in enhancing mother-infant bonding and
00:48:08 --> 00:48:10 reducing postpartum depression,
00:48:10 --> 00:48:13 techniques for incorporating traditional
00:48:13 --> 00:48:17 african-american postpartum practices such
00:48:17 --> 00:48:25 as belly binding beautification rituals and postpartum baths now stop right
00:48:25 --> 00:48:36 there with that did you deal with with your ex any postpartum situations when your children were born.
00:48:37 --> 00:48:42 So not not that i know of you know i think it's hard because i feel like and
00:48:42 --> 00:48:47 i mean of course it wasn't too young so my what my daughter is 16 son is 14
00:48:47 --> 00:48:50 i feel like that was something i heard about,
00:48:51 --> 00:48:58 but may not have i guess maybe not known to recognize it you know because you
00:48:58 --> 00:49:04 know i think anytime you have a a pregnant woman after she's has delivered you
00:49:04 --> 00:49:05 don't know if it's still hormones hormones.
00:49:05 --> 00:49:08 You don't know if it's tired, you know, cause of course, you know,
00:49:08 --> 00:49:10 the baby's always up under the mother.
00:49:10 --> 00:49:15 So Dave, to be honest, I'm not sure if I was educated or I'm not sure if we
00:49:15 --> 00:49:21 were educated enough to even know what to look for or recognize any signs.
00:49:21 --> 00:49:27 You know, we, we might thought it would just fatigue, irritability, hormones, you know?
00:49:27 --> 00:49:30 So, and then to be honest, Dave, I think as a man, you know,
00:49:30 --> 00:49:34 sometimes stuff happens and we don't know what the hell is going And we just,
00:49:34 --> 00:49:38 you know, just kind of either give it space or try to be as comforting as possible.
00:49:40 --> 00:49:41 Yeah. Well, I will say.
00:49:43 --> 00:49:46 As the new times are coming.
00:49:47 --> 00:49:54 A lot of people nowadays do not understand or know a lot about postpartum.
00:49:56 --> 00:50:00 Because it's not talked about the way that it was talked about when I was coming
00:50:00 --> 00:50:06 up. So it was always something that I was aware of because it was a real thing.
00:50:08 --> 00:50:14 There was always a period, well, not with every female, but in most females,
00:50:14 --> 00:50:20 there was a period where they were a little down and out after the pregnancy
00:50:20 --> 00:50:23 or they wasn't themselves. I'm going to put it that way.
00:50:24 --> 00:50:29 Now, some women, because of their chemical makeup and bodies,
00:50:29 --> 00:50:31 that may last longer than others.
00:50:31 --> 00:50:35 And that's where the whole postpartum part comes in.
00:50:35 --> 00:50:38 It's a very emotional roller coaster ride for
00:50:38 --> 00:50:41 them right it can throw them
00:50:41 --> 00:50:45 for a loop and like you said you probably realized
00:50:45 --> 00:50:47 he was going through something you probably noticed he was going through something but
00:50:47 --> 00:50:50 didn't really know what was going on or dave
00:50:50 --> 00:50:54 to be honest i might not have noticed because you know
00:50:54 --> 00:50:57 the hormones and activities from
00:50:57 --> 00:51:00 pregnancy some of them just seem to carry
00:51:00 --> 00:51:02 over so you know like i to be honest i just
00:51:02 --> 00:51:05 didn't know yeah okay well and that's
00:51:05 --> 00:51:08 an honest answer because you probably didn't know
00:51:08 --> 00:51:16 and it's a shame because there's probably a lot of young men and women out there
00:51:16 --> 00:51:21 right now that don't know webinar like this and information like this could
00:51:21 --> 00:51:26 be very valuable to a lot of people especially young people that are having children right now.
00:51:26 --> 00:51:31 I went through that when my last child was born.
00:51:32 --> 00:51:40 That was really a rough time. She went through postpartum and she was really
00:51:40 --> 00:51:43 never the same person after, after my son was born.
00:51:44 --> 00:51:48 And not saying that she was, I mean, horrible or anything like that.
00:51:48 --> 00:51:54 Don't get me wrong. I just know that there was a change and she knew it too and.
00:51:56 --> 00:52:01 So it is definitely a real thing it is definitely something that happens and
00:52:01 --> 00:52:07 we need to be more educated about it because we need to know how to help if we can help,
00:52:08 --> 00:52:15 and I think a webinar or information and training like this could be very helpful
00:52:15 --> 00:52:17 especially in the black community Thank you.
00:52:19 --> 00:52:25 Excuse me. I just because I think it's it's very helpful to our our young people
00:52:25 --> 00:52:29 or or even somebody that's older, because nowadays, of course,
00:52:29 --> 00:52:31 people are having babies in their 40s.
00:52:31 --> 00:52:34 Right. You know, Janet had hers at 50. I mean,
00:52:34 --> 00:52:40 you know, so you can imagine what kind of what kind of things are going on in
00:52:40 --> 00:52:44 one's mind when you have a child in your 40s or your 50s and what's going on
00:52:44 --> 00:52:46 in your mind, what's going on with your body.
00:52:46 --> 00:52:53 There's a lot that you know could be off kilter there so i just think this is
00:52:53 --> 00:52:55 something great and that's one of
00:52:55 --> 00:52:59 why i wanted to put it out there it is information that probably somebody,
00:53:00 --> 00:53:03 maybe listening to our show may say oh i might want to go out there and look for that,
00:53:04 --> 00:53:10 you know so i can check that out we call we we want to make sure especially
00:53:10 --> 00:53:13 when it comes to this podcast that,
00:53:13 --> 00:53:20 you know, we not only are we giving, we're talking news and trends and stuff
00:53:20 --> 00:53:25 like that, but we also want to be informative as much as possible as well,
00:53:25 --> 00:53:29 especially if there's something that we we find out or something that we're
00:53:29 --> 00:53:34 reporting that could be helpful to somebody out there.
00:53:34 --> 00:53:39 Sure. You know, so and I felt this was one of those type things that especially
00:53:39 --> 00:53:45 for black women that they may want to check out because it is.
00:53:45 --> 00:53:54 Something that is very valuable and something that could be very helpful in
00:53:54 --> 00:53:58 dealing with what happens after that baby is born. Right.
00:53:58 --> 00:54:02 So, just wanted to bring that up.
00:54:02 --> 00:54:06 You have any other comments on that? No, I mean, I think it's good information.
00:54:06 --> 00:54:10 I think if I can be honest, and I'm just speaking And from my point of view,
00:54:10 --> 00:54:14 I feel like there needs to be more than a webinar because, Dave,
00:54:15 --> 00:54:18 I cannot tell you the last time I hopped on anybody's webinar,
00:54:18 --> 00:54:22 even if it was something I was interested in. But, you know, I can.
00:54:23 --> 00:54:27 I'm sure there's plenty of books and stuff out there too. You just got to go out and do the research.
00:54:27 --> 00:54:31 Yeah. I was kind of just thinking like ways that they could do outreach.
00:54:31 --> 00:54:33 So I'm thinking, you know, let's say for black women specifically,
00:54:34 --> 00:54:38 the hair salons, you know, getting information on the hair salons,
00:54:38 --> 00:54:44 the churches, maybe the sororities, you know, some direct contact.
00:54:44 --> 00:54:48 That because i just know for me i'll see a lot of webinars that look great but
00:54:48 --> 00:54:53 i'm just you know i'm just i know if it depends on me getting on a webinar it
00:54:53 --> 00:54:57 may not happen well and that makes a lot of sense leonard i i agree with you
00:54:57 --> 00:55:01 i that makes a lot of sense because people just don't,
00:55:01 --> 00:55:05 you know a lot of people may not want to listen to a webinar or go to a webinar
00:55:05 --> 00:55:10 and it's really a shame because people will go to tiktok tiktok yeah oh definitely
00:55:10 --> 00:55:11 they'll go to Instagram.
00:55:12 --> 00:55:15 So maybe they, maybe that's something that they need to do is put the webinar
00:55:15 --> 00:55:21 or put the information on one of those, those networks so that it can be put
00:55:21 --> 00:55:24 out there and be interested because I know they do have,
00:55:24 --> 00:55:32 you know, people do do, you know, so-called headlight talks and stuff like that
00:55:32 --> 00:55:35 on, on those channels, you know, on those streaming services.
00:55:36 --> 00:55:42 So, so it is information that you definitely want to go out there because it's
00:55:42 --> 00:55:44 not something that you hear people talk about,
00:55:44 --> 00:55:49 that you hear people strike up conversations about, but we know this is something
00:55:49 --> 00:55:51 that's very real. Right.
00:55:52 --> 00:55:57 And, you know, and for those people, especially if you're starting a family
00:55:57 --> 00:55:59 or you have small children,
00:55:59 --> 00:56:04 you just had, you know, you know, maybe you got one and two year olds and you're
00:56:04 --> 00:56:07 thinking to yourself, how are you going to get through all of this?
00:56:07 --> 00:56:10 Because because you're feel a little overwhelmed or whatever,
00:56:10 --> 00:56:14 you can still be dealing with postpartum, you know, it could be,
00:56:14 --> 00:56:16 it could definitely be something that's there.
00:56:16 --> 00:56:21 Depression is depression. It just rears its head differently, you know?
00:56:21 --> 00:56:27 So, so hopefully, you know, for those that are listening, we'll go out and do
00:56:27 --> 00:56:29 the research and, and find something.
00:56:29 --> 00:56:33 If it's something that you need to check into or check out,
00:56:33 --> 00:56:37 or you want, you know, people that are dealing with stuff like this,
00:56:37 --> 00:56:40 you know just have them do the research
00:56:40 --> 00:56:43 or help them with the research in order to find something that
00:56:43 --> 00:56:49 could help okay yep yep sounds good okay all right all right and then we're
00:56:49 --> 00:56:56 here today's favorite portion of the show here we go all right good day all
00:56:56 --> 00:57:00 right so dave i have a couple questions to ask you are you black.
00:57:01 --> 00:57:04 Sometimes. Yeah. Okay.
00:57:06 --> 00:57:09 Now I have to quote my man on, uh, CB 40.
00:57:09 --> 00:57:14 Oh, CB four. I mean, see before I'm black, y'all I'm black, y'all black,
00:57:14 --> 00:57:17 I'm black. I'm black. Y'all, you know, never, never seen before.
00:57:17 --> 00:57:20 You ever see that movie with Chris rock? I mean, where he played the rapper.
00:57:21 --> 00:57:26 Yes. Okay. I have seen that. No, you don't, you don't know. No, no, no, no, no, no.
00:57:30 --> 00:57:34 No, no, I saw it once. Years ago.
00:57:34 --> 00:57:39 Take his black card, people. Take his black card. And Dave, CB4 had never come
00:57:39 --> 00:57:41 on TV after that. It has, though.
00:57:42 --> 00:57:46 I've seen CB4 many times, man. There's two movies you'll never see.
00:57:46 --> 00:57:49 That movie is hysterical. There's two black movies you'll never see on TV again.
00:57:49 --> 00:57:50 What's the other one? Booty Tang.
00:57:51 --> 00:57:56 Booty Tang is always Booty Tang. No, it is not always on.
00:57:56 --> 00:58:00 It came on for the last time. Maybe right before the pandemic.
00:58:01 --> 00:58:05 And then I don't know what content was in Poodie Tag.
00:58:05 --> 00:58:11 Poodie Tag has not been on TV since. That was a funny movie. It was so dumb.
00:58:12 --> 00:58:13 It was funny. That's why it was so.
00:58:14 --> 00:58:16 And CB4 was funny too.
00:58:18 --> 00:58:23 I don't know. Well, here. For all our listeners, go on our Facebook page.
00:58:23 --> 00:58:24 Well, here. We're going to make a post.
00:58:25 --> 00:58:30 We're going to put it on our Facebook page. And it's going to be, was CB4 funny?
00:58:31 --> 00:58:35 You can either give us a yes or you can give us a no. Thumbs up, thumbs down.
00:58:36 --> 00:58:41 You can give us a black fist or a white fist. I bet you most people are going to say yes. Go ahead.
00:58:42 --> 00:58:46 Well, Dave, if they did, it's probably because you got to go to your job and
00:58:46 --> 00:58:48 tell everybody to throw up the thumbs up.
00:58:48 --> 00:58:51 Oh, my God. Anyway. All right, but Dave, anyway.
00:58:52 --> 00:58:56 Anyway, go ahead. So you say you're black sometimes. Yeah. Same thing.
00:58:56 --> 00:58:58 Yeah. Are you a sports fan?
00:58:58 --> 00:59:01 Yes. Are you a football fan? Yes.
00:59:02 --> 00:59:06 Do you think you know your football? I think I know my football.
00:59:07 --> 00:59:10 Have you seen Jeopardy! The Football Failure?
00:59:11 --> 00:59:16 Jeopardy! The Football Failure? Yes. No. Okay, good. All right, so here we go.
00:59:17 --> 00:59:20 Okay. Jeopardy! Questions. Okay.
00:59:21 --> 00:59:22 Ready? Yep.
00:59:23 --> 00:59:25 No. Silence.
00:59:27 --> 00:59:32 What's going on over there, man? Come on, talk to me. That was a question. I didn't hear it.
00:59:33 --> 00:59:36 Oh, okay. Oh, I'm sorry. Hold on. Am I sharing my sound?
00:59:37 --> 00:59:41 No. Oh, it's not sharing? Yeah, try it again.
00:59:42 --> 00:59:44 It should be sharing. Oh, my goodness.
00:59:45 --> 00:59:50 Sharing is paused. Why is my sharing paused? See, you're trying to be all technical
00:59:50 --> 00:59:53 over here. You can't get this thing to work over here.
00:59:53 --> 00:59:57 I don't know what's happening, Dave. Let's see.
01:00:01 --> 01:00:04 Hmm. Let's see. Let's see.
01:00:05 --> 01:00:09 All right. Real quick. I'll wait. Stop. So for everyone listening,
01:00:09 --> 01:00:12 zoom, zoom is not my friend anymore.
01:00:12 --> 01:00:15 Dave, I don't know. And, and Dave, don't I say this every show?
01:00:16 --> 01:00:20 Yeah. I'd be like, zoom is just, all right, let me try to share again.
01:00:20 --> 01:00:23 Okay. Oh, you know what happened? What?
01:00:24 --> 01:00:27 Operator error. Yeah, definitely operator error. Okay. We'll,
01:00:27 --> 01:00:29 we'll talk about it after the show. Okay.
01:00:30 --> 01:00:38 All right. So Dave, when I start playing, when you hear audio,
01:00:39 --> 01:00:43 just put your hand up real quick in front of the phone so I know it's working. Okay.
01:00:43 --> 01:00:45 In fact, let me just make sure it's sound.
01:00:46 --> 01:00:50 Okay. Are you ready? Yep. Football 200.
01:00:50 --> 01:00:56 Your choice. Do or don't name this play in which the quarterback runs the ball
01:00:56 --> 01:00:59 and can choose to pitch it to another back.
01:01:00 --> 01:01:07 Okay what i need i need you to form your answer and uh in a question okay what
01:01:07 --> 01:01:15 do you play it again no no what is the read option it's an option play ryan
01:01:15 --> 01:01:19 an option play okay all right,
01:01:20 --> 01:01:24 okay so i'll i'll give you you gotta give me i give you okay okay okay what
01:01:24 --> 01:01:28 it's what they They're going to read off it. You know, so go ahead.
01:01:28 --> 01:01:30 Okay. Are you ready? Mm-hmm.
01:01:31 --> 01:01:34 Football 400. I can tell you guys are big football fans. Yeah, yeah.
01:01:35 --> 01:01:40 Tom Landry perfected the shotgun formation with this team. Dallas Cowboys.
01:01:42 --> 01:01:46 Dallas Cowboys. Okay, Dave. You really think you're doing something here,
01:01:46 --> 01:01:48 don't you? Okay. Okay. Are you ready?
01:01:49 --> 01:01:51 Yeah. Okay. All right. I think we should go to commercial.
01:01:52 --> 01:01:56 Ryan? Take it down to 600. Okay. Okay, by signaling for one of these,
01:01:56 --> 01:02:01 a returner can reel in a kick without fear of getting tackled. Fair catch.
01:02:02 --> 01:02:05 Fair catch. Two clues left, Ryan. 800.
01:02:06 --> 01:02:12 These penalties are simultaneous violations by the offense and defense that cancel each other out.
01:02:13 --> 01:02:17 Offsetting. And they are called offsetting penalty.
01:02:17 --> 01:02:21 Let's look at... Okay, are you ready for the final?
01:02:22 --> 01:02:24 Okay, here we go.
01:02:24 --> 01:02:27 The $1 clue, just for the fun of it.
01:02:28 --> 01:02:34 Jimmy? As Minneapolis' U.S. Bank Stadium prepares to host Super Bowl 52,
01:02:34 --> 01:02:39 I'm looking at the Ring of Honor with names from this defensive line that took
01:02:39 --> 01:02:40 the Vikings to four Super Bowls.
01:02:41 --> 01:02:45 So, Dave, just as a caveat, because you can't see it, so this episode of Jeopardy!
01:02:45 --> 01:02:49 From six years ago, so when they're talking about the Minnesota Vikings,
01:02:49 --> 01:02:52 it's not talking about right now, but I'm sure you're still familiar.
01:02:52 --> 01:02:55 But would you like me to read the $1 question one more time?
01:02:56 --> 01:02:59 So am I naming the name of the line?
01:03:02 --> 01:03:11 I believe so yes okay what is the purple people eaters if you guys ring in and
01:03:11 --> 01:03:18 get this one I will die who are the purple people eaters we're going to take a break.
01:03:21 --> 01:03:24 Okay Dave okay you know I mean,
01:03:25 --> 01:03:28 don't mess with me man yeah I mean they want a
01:03:28 --> 01:03:30 hard question but you know it's funny how many of
01:03:30 --> 01:03:33 those answers did you know none because you're
01:03:33 --> 01:03:36 not a football guy you're not a football guy the the fair catch
01:03:36 --> 01:03:41 okay you know about the fair catch the offsetting penalty i might not have said
01:03:41 --> 01:03:47 it correctly but you know in my mind i knew what it was okay the shotgun one
01:03:47 --> 01:03:52 nope okay the purple people eaters nope no you wouldn't have known that no and
01:03:52 --> 01:03:55 then i feel like What was the very first one? The option?
01:03:56 --> 01:04:00 The option, yeah. Yeah. I mean, I feel like I wouldn't know.
01:04:01 --> 01:04:07 I wouldn't have been able to think about it quick enough to answer. Yeah, yeah.
01:04:08 --> 01:04:09 Nah, yeah. Yeah.
01:04:11 --> 01:04:14 You can't get me on that kind of stuff, man. Well, Dave, I mean,
01:04:14 --> 01:04:17 I mean, this was just on Jeopardy. This was a televised stuff.
01:04:17 --> 01:04:23 I can definitely visit YouTube and find a real football. You can find a real question.
01:04:24 --> 01:04:28 But, you know, I put this on because this was just so funny because out of the
01:04:28 --> 01:04:31 three people and for for anybody who is listening.
01:04:32 --> 01:04:35 So, of course, you know, I just played a skit, not a skit, but a little segment
01:04:35 --> 01:04:39 from Jeopardy where the category was football. ball.
01:04:39 --> 01:04:48 And I think it's two guys and one girl, and they did not answer any of the questions.
01:04:50 --> 01:04:55 It's not they answered them wrong. They did not have an answer for any of the
01:04:55 --> 01:05:00 questions, the $200, the $400, the $600, the $800, or the $1 question.
01:05:00 --> 01:05:03 They were just all sitting there. That's why it's so funny when,
01:05:04 --> 01:05:06 in fact, what's his name?
01:05:06 --> 01:05:11 Alex Trebek said, said you know we'll we'll we'll read the thousand dollar one
01:05:11 --> 01:05:15 just for giggles oh so so oh i thought,
01:05:15 --> 01:05:18 okay so that was trebek that was answering all the questions
01:05:18 --> 01:05:22 that wasn't the guy no no yeah no
01:05:22 --> 01:05:24 so none of the contest in fact they
01:05:24 --> 01:05:28 didn't know any of the answers no in fact they didn't even know enough to even
01:05:28 --> 01:05:34 say an answer for either wow so yeah and in fact so i thought it was the guy
01:05:34 --> 01:05:38 that they you know the camera was on the whole time i thought that was him talking
01:05:38 --> 01:05:42 no so um what i'll do i'll put this on our facebook page if you get a chance
01:05:42 --> 01:05:43 take a look at it especially i'm sure,
01:05:44 --> 01:05:49 jeopardy fans or sports fans will think it's hilarious yeah yeah that's crazy
01:05:49 --> 01:05:53 they didn't know anything yeah well well you know that that's why when they
01:05:53 --> 01:05:59 got to the thousand dollar question alex trebek was like if y'all get this i will die.
01:06:02 --> 01:06:05 And look at it. I could have made some money on that stage, man.
01:06:05 --> 01:06:10 Yeah. Yeah, you could have. Yeah. So, yeah. They wouldn't throw those kind of
01:06:10 --> 01:06:13 questions at me. They throw some hard stuff at me. I know. I know. Yeah.
01:06:14 --> 01:06:17 It'd be like Dave in field hockey. What is it called?
01:06:18 --> 01:06:24 It would be football questions, but they'll probably say, so how many feet are between the hash marks?
01:06:24 --> 01:06:29 The hash marks or how many hash marks are on the field?
01:06:29 --> 01:06:31 You know, those type of things, you know, so.
01:06:32 --> 01:06:36 Stuff I'd never counted before or would never know. So, yeah. Yeah.
01:06:37 --> 01:06:40 But, all right. Well, I went five. I went five for five there.
01:06:41 --> 01:06:43 Well, Dave, you know, two of them. Yeah.
01:06:43 --> 01:06:46 You went four for five. I knew them all. I gave you the answers to every one
01:06:46 --> 01:06:48 of them. The number one, we gave you a half.
01:06:49 --> 01:06:51 That's not a half. It's the whole answer. That's what it is.
01:06:52 --> 01:06:55 And the number four, you said offsetting.
01:06:55 --> 01:06:58 Yeah, that's what it is. But you didn't say penalty.
01:06:59 --> 01:07:02 Oh, my God. I didn't have to say penalty. He said, what was the name of the penalties?
01:07:03 --> 01:07:06 I didn't have to say penalties. They already knew. All right.
01:07:06 --> 01:07:09 Okay. All right. Don't try to. Don't try to. No, no, no.
01:07:11 --> 01:07:15 No, wait. Nobody's trying to pay you. You're just trying to be exact.
01:07:15 --> 01:07:17 Trying to play. I know my football, man.
01:07:18 --> 01:07:23 Okay. Okay. All right, Dave. Good try, though. Good try. Maybe next time.
01:07:23 --> 01:07:26 Maybe next time. All right. Anyway.
01:07:27 --> 01:07:30 Well, folks, I guess that's the end of our show.
01:07:30 --> 01:07:39 I will want to remind everyone that we are now part of the MBG Podcast Network,
01:07:39 --> 01:07:42 and I'm going to have Leonard talk a little bit about that.
01:07:42 --> 01:07:49 Go ahead, Leonard. Yep. So the MBG Podcast Network was actually started earlier this month.
01:07:49 --> 01:07:53 And it's really just to bring together diverse creators,
01:07:53 --> 01:07:59 podcasters of color, specifically black podcasters to kind of provide the resources
01:07:59 --> 01:08:05 that a lot of them need and can use to kind of take their podcast to the next level.
01:08:05 --> 01:08:09 So if you get a chance, if you're looking right now, Dave, we have about 12 shows.
01:08:10 --> 01:08:13 So if you get a chance, you can head over to NBG Podcast Network.
01:08:14 --> 01:08:15 You can take a look at all of our shows.
01:08:16 --> 01:08:21 If you are a podcaster who has a quality podcast and interested in joining the
01:08:21 --> 01:08:30 network, you can also go to our website, nbgpodcastnetwork.com backslash the word join, J-O-I-N.
01:08:30 --> 01:08:34 And you can get all the necessary information if you're interested in becoming
01:08:34 --> 01:08:36 part of the podcast network.
01:08:38 --> 01:08:44 And you know last week when we first made this announcement how many shows did
01:08:44 --> 01:08:50 you have I think it was six at the time yeah I might have had on six and we're
01:08:50 --> 01:08:54 up to twelve yeah I think we have twelve and another,
01:08:55 --> 01:09:04 two or one or two that are pending in transition yeah I know we brought on a
01:09:04 --> 01:09:06 good friend of ours who is Mr.
01:09:06 --> 01:09:09 Mia Avery so she was
01:09:09 --> 01:09:12 very excited about that so that's great
