00:00:32 --> 00:00:35 Welcome, welcome, welcome to News and Trends with Dave and Lynn.
00:00:35 --> 00:00:39 This is one of your hosts, Mr. David Cloaker, proprietor, proponent,
00:00:39 --> 00:00:44 I can't even talk right now, proprietor of Dave Mark Inc, promoter, event planner.
00:00:45 --> 00:00:51 And we are now part of the MBG Podcast Network. Tell you a little bit more about
00:00:51 --> 00:00:52 that at the end of the show.
00:00:53 --> 00:00:55 Hanging out with my partner, Mr. Leonard Young. What's going on, sir?
00:00:56 --> 00:01:00 Hey, Dave. Everything is good. This is Leonard Young, CEO of National Black
00:01:00 --> 00:01:05 Guide, DelawareBlack.com, Black Media Specialist, all-around good guy.
00:01:05 --> 00:01:07 How are you holding up, Dave?
00:01:09 --> 00:01:16 This is truly the day after the storm. What can you say? We've heard that term many times.
00:01:17 --> 00:01:24 And we'll be talking shortly about what all of that entails and why I said that.
00:01:25 --> 00:01:29 But, you know, still here on this earth, still breathing.
00:01:29 --> 00:01:34 I guess that's the most important part, you know? Yeah, and Dave,
00:01:34 --> 00:01:40 for everyone who doesn't know it, well, I think we all know what happened.
00:01:40 --> 00:01:45 So, Dave, let's just jump straight to it. Okay.
00:01:47 --> 00:01:50 Hold on, hold on. Let me say this first.
00:01:51 --> 00:01:55 So, guys, you know, we didn't do a show on Tuesday night because of everything
00:01:55 --> 00:01:58 that was going on with the elections and everything.
00:01:58 --> 00:02:02 So we decided to wait until Wednesday to do the show.
00:02:03 --> 00:02:06 Because we wanted to talk about what happened so this
00:02:06 --> 00:02:14 is our how our our how do we how do we put this this is our come down moment
00:02:14 --> 00:02:22 or yeah i mean this right here is our recap yeah our recap and and you know
00:02:22 --> 00:02:25 it is what it is so but what do you agree to say sir,
00:02:26 --> 00:02:28 Yeah, so basically, I was going to say, so, you know, of course,
00:02:28 --> 00:02:32 Dave, I'm sure you watched the majority of it yesterday. Yeah, I was ugly.
00:02:34 --> 00:02:38 Why don't you walk me through some of your emotions from, you know,
00:02:38 --> 00:02:43 before the results started coming in to when the results started coming in?
00:02:43 --> 00:02:48 And, you know, like how was your emotional roller coaster, you know,
00:02:49 --> 00:02:52 from when you started watching to when you kind of tuned off for the night?
00:02:52 --> 00:02:57 You know, I'm going to be very honest with you and everyone that's listening.
00:02:57 --> 00:03:01 I had a bad feeling from the beginning of the day.
00:03:02 --> 00:03:04 Things were not going to work out the way I wanted it to.
00:03:05 --> 00:03:09 Now, for some of you guys that are listening, it probably worked out the way
00:03:09 --> 00:03:10 you might have wanted them to.
00:03:11 --> 00:03:17 You know, for some of you guys. But I'm just saying, it didn't work out the way I wanted it to.
00:03:17 --> 00:03:23 And even the way that things went didn't go the way I thought they might go. You know what I mean?
00:03:23 --> 00:03:27 So, yeah, it was just weird from the very start.
00:03:27 --> 00:03:33 Now, I try to play myself, but not really getting too focused in the early beginning.
00:03:34 --> 00:03:40 You know, I like I didn't want to know when they started, you know,
00:03:41 --> 00:03:45 putting out some of the early results and everything. Right.
00:03:45 --> 00:03:51 The stuff started popping up on my phone. And when I saw that Trump jumped out
00:03:51 --> 00:03:57 to that early lead the way he did, I was like, oh, this ain't good.
00:03:58 --> 00:04:04 And remember, I think you text me and you were like, this ain't good.
00:04:04 --> 00:04:07 I was like, not at all.
00:04:09 --> 00:04:12 And then I started getting text from all everybody, man.
00:04:12 --> 00:04:17 And everybody was like the same thing. Everybody was saying, this ain't good.
00:04:17 --> 00:04:20 That's what everybody was saying man and i
00:04:20 --> 00:04:23 was just like okay all right and you
00:04:23 --> 00:04:26 and i were being kind of positive okay it's early you know
00:04:26 --> 00:04:29 maybe she you know maybe they can come back and everything but
00:04:29 --> 00:04:33 not only was and and and
00:04:33 --> 00:04:37 forgive us folks because it's going to be clear to everyone who we were rooting
00:04:37 --> 00:04:47 for without us even saying it but when i started seeing not only was Vice President
00:04:47 --> 00:04:50 Harris not winning at that point.
00:04:51 --> 00:04:52 But, you know, they...
00:04:54 --> 00:05:03 We were getting beat all the way around in the Senate, in the House, everything.
00:05:03 --> 00:05:07 Right. And it's crazy.
00:05:08 --> 00:05:12 It just went from there. I mean, what were your thoughts at that point?
00:05:12 --> 00:05:16 So, you know, mine were kind of similar, a little bit different. So, I mean, definitely.
00:05:17 --> 00:05:21 Well, you know, it's funny because I was pretty much watching the news all day
00:05:21 --> 00:05:22 long, you know, during the day.
00:05:23 --> 00:05:29 And I kept on hearing the commentators say that Kamala Harris ended on an upbeat
00:05:29 --> 00:05:33 and Donald Trump kind of ended on a downbeat.
00:05:33 --> 00:05:36 So I'm like, OK, you know, the momentum is coming.
00:05:36 --> 00:05:41 You know, this is the shift we're looking for. You know, the enthusiasm is high.
00:05:42 --> 00:05:47 And when the election started or when they started bringing the results in,
00:05:48 --> 00:05:51 Dave, you know, I was kind of like you were. So as the initial results started
00:05:51 --> 00:05:57 coming in and, you know, OK, Kamala is down by 10, now she's down by 20, 30.
00:05:57 --> 00:06:03 When she was down by about 100 or when Trump reached 100 and she had like three,
00:06:03 --> 00:06:07 six, 10, I was a little worried.
00:06:07 --> 00:06:12 And what made me really worried is kind of like you talked about how they kept
00:06:12 --> 00:06:14 talking about those seven battleground states.
00:06:14 --> 00:06:20 Oh, yeah. And every time they flip to any one of those states,
00:06:20 --> 00:06:23 either Kamala was up for a brief
00:06:23 --> 00:06:30 moment or Trump, you know, pretty much rode that like 50, 49, 51, 48.
00:06:31 --> 00:06:34 You know, like they were just riding them out. And Dave, to be honest,
00:06:34 --> 00:06:38 I think when I went to sleep last night, some of those battleground states were
00:06:38 --> 00:06:39 still around that percentage.
00:06:39 --> 00:06:43 You know, that's just how close, you know, everything was coming in.
00:06:44 --> 00:06:50 And I think I went to sleep or, you know, my eyes were just burning right around
00:06:50 --> 00:06:55 when it was like 150 Kamala to like 225 Trump.
00:06:56 --> 00:07:00 And I was like, I think I told my wife, I was like, man, you know,
00:07:00 --> 00:07:04 we just put this in God's hands because I can't stay up anymore.
00:07:04 --> 00:07:06 But those are kind of the emotions I went through. But yes.
00:07:07 --> 00:07:10 What did your wife say? What was her feeling in front of her?
00:07:11 --> 00:07:14 Well, she was the same thing. you know once it started she didn't
00:07:14 --> 00:07:17 have a good feeling and then um we both had long days so
00:07:17 --> 00:07:20 from about nine to eleven she was asleep
00:07:20 --> 00:07:22 and you know i i would wake
00:07:22 --> 00:07:25 her up every hour and i'd be like uh ain't looking good
00:07:25 --> 00:07:28 and um that was probably
00:07:28 --> 00:07:32 everybody's favorite um damn
00:07:32 --> 00:07:37 yeah yeah yeah
00:07:37 --> 00:07:43 i i actually didn't go to bed i was up pretty late and i didn't go to bed I
00:07:43 --> 00:07:51 think I made myself go to bed after they had declared that Pennsylvania went
00:07:51 --> 00:07:54 to Trump. Oh, wow. Now, what time was that?
00:07:55 --> 00:07:58 I went to bed between 11 and 12. Man, that was after. That was after.
00:07:58 --> 00:08:02 This was after 1.30, Leonard. It was 1.30 when they said that.
00:08:03 --> 00:08:07 I was still up. Yeah, I was still up. And you made it to work today? God bless you, man.
00:08:09 --> 00:08:13 No, I was up today. That's the only reason I was still watching it. at that point.
00:08:15 --> 00:08:22 The, because they had just declared Pennsylvania and Minnesota at that point.
00:08:24 --> 00:08:28 And, no. No. Who else? It was Pennsylvania.
00:08:30 --> 00:08:35 Maybe it was Virginia. I forget who it was. But I know PA was the big one.
00:08:35 --> 00:08:38 And they had just given that to Trump. And I was like, wow. So,
00:08:39 --> 00:08:41 then they showed the map.
00:08:41 --> 00:08:45 The map was ridiculous, Leonard. Did you see the map?
00:08:47 --> 00:08:52 It's like you had skates on and you could skate anywhere in the United States
00:08:52 --> 00:08:54 you wanted to, on any part of the United States you wanted to,
00:08:55 --> 00:08:58 except for a few spots, you know, that you could skate on.
00:08:59 --> 00:09:05 For the most part I was like, don't skate on the West Coast and don't skate on the Northeast.
00:09:05 --> 00:09:11 He got California and you know, the Northeast basically, that was it man.
00:09:12 --> 00:09:15 He got everything in the middle. yeah no he
00:09:15 --> 00:09:19 did everything in the middle i mean you know i mean
00:09:19 --> 00:09:22 even they when north carolina
00:09:22 --> 00:09:26 when they were you when they declared north carolina they were talking about
00:09:26 --> 00:09:31 what they call the black belt area in north carolina and they were talking about
00:09:31 --> 00:09:39 how a lot of that area was predominantly to leave black and it went to Trump. I was like what?
00:09:41 --> 00:09:48 The whole thing was just like mind-blowing to me and then not only were you
00:09:48 --> 00:09:53 watching that particular you're watching the race as far as the,
00:09:55 --> 00:09:58 the two main candidates.
00:09:58 --> 00:10:03 But then you're saying the numbers for the House and the Senate at the same time.
00:10:04 --> 00:10:10 And all of that was disarming, too, because they, you know, the Democrats lost that, too, both of them.
00:10:10 --> 00:10:14 You know, and I was just like, what is going on here?
00:10:14 --> 00:10:18 It was like, no way could you have seen, because when I went to bid,
00:10:18 --> 00:10:24 it was 247 to 210, I think it was, when I went to bid.
00:10:25 --> 00:10:30 And I woke up around four or five o'clock in the morning and I just peaked at
00:10:30 --> 00:10:38 my phone and I was, it said two 77 to what was it? Two 47 or something like that.
00:10:40 --> 00:10:45 Yeah. And I was like, wow. I said, that's crazy. You know? Yeah.
00:10:47 --> 00:10:51 She made a run. She made a run late, you know, but it was just too late.
00:10:52 --> 00:10:55 Well, actually, it was too late and not enough.
00:10:55 --> 00:10:57 Yeah, because she didn't get the state. She needed it.
00:10:58 --> 00:11:03 I mean, I knew it was some shenanigans going on because, you know,
00:11:03 --> 00:11:08 at 9 o'clock, they had showed Burlington County in New Jersey.
00:11:09 --> 00:11:11 There were still people in line voting.
00:11:12 --> 00:11:18 And they said they had been in line three and four hours. That line probably
00:11:18 --> 00:11:20 wouldn't have been done until after 11 o'clock that night.
00:11:21 --> 00:11:26 Yeah, I mean, it was crazy. And I was like, you know, and then they said even
00:11:26 --> 00:11:31 with the early voting that was done, they said the numbers were down.
00:11:31 --> 00:11:33 I would say, how can the numbers be down?
00:11:34 --> 00:11:37 I'm sorry. So the numbers were down for who? For the early voting.
00:11:39 --> 00:11:44 I mean, the numbers were down for one of the candidates or they expect more?
00:11:44 --> 00:11:49 No, no, they're saying that, you know, from previous years of early voting. Oh, OK.
00:11:50 --> 00:11:54 They said the number was down. And I was like, well, how could it be down?
00:11:54 --> 00:11:58 I said, oh, you know, because I had the fuck going on.
00:11:59 --> 00:12:06 At my place where we had the early voting. And it was packed every day there. So I don't know.
00:12:08 --> 00:12:14 I know the early voting places in Wilmington didn't do as well with the turnout.
00:12:15 --> 00:12:17 I don't know how the turnout was election day.
00:12:18 --> 00:12:22 Well, you know, so I almost feel like that may not be accurate because I'm,
00:12:23 --> 00:12:26 I mean, I feel like I heard they were up and I'm looking right now and it says,
00:12:27 --> 00:12:36 just under 80 million ballots were cast early, which I feel like that's one-third of the population.
00:12:37 --> 00:12:40 Hold on. Do you know how many voters? That's what they said. It was a third.
00:12:41 --> 00:12:46 That's exactly what they said. It was a third. But they said that the numbers
00:12:46 --> 00:12:48 should have been higher. Okay.
00:12:50 --> 00:12:54 They said it should have been higher. Yeah. I mean, you figure a third,
00:12:54 --> 00:12:57 you know you want to you want to at least half or over half
00:12:57 --> 00:13:01 you know how could
00:13:01 --> 00:13:04 the numbers be so far off as far as because
00:13:04 --> 00:13:07 trump not only won you know he got
00:13:07 --> 00:13:11 the number of votes he needed but he also won the popularity vote
00:13:11 --> 00:13:14 too yeah he did so how
00:13:14 --> 00:13:17 could we be so wrong about all this because it didn't look like things were
00:13:17 --> 00:13:24 going that way well so when i looked at one of the the exit polls today and
00:13:24 --> 00:13:31 you know I know black men got a lot of bashing prior but you know Dave for the exit polls,
00:13:31 --> 00:13:35 exit polls are a little bit different and I have it in front of me now so black
00:13:35 --> 00:13:40 women as expected they showed up at the polls they were 92% for Kamala,
00:13:41 --> 00:13:48 black men and I was actually happy and surprised to see it were 78% for Kamala.
00:13:49 --> 00:13:54 Now where what do you say Oh, okay. That's not bad.
00:13:55 --> 00:14:01 Now, where I feel like we really lost was Latino men and women.
00:14:02 --> 00:14:07 You know, after Trump wants to close the borders, do all the deportation,
00:14:08 --> 00:14:11 he called Puerto Rico a floating island of trash.
00:14:11 --> 00:14:16 Latino men voted for Trump 54%.
00:14:17 --> 00:14:21 Latino women voted for Trump 37%.
00:14:22 --> 00:14:25 37%? Okay, well, that's good. I'm going to be long. It wasn't over 50.
00:14:27 --> 00:14:30 Now, of course... It shouldn't even be that high.
00:14:31 --> 00:14:35 And then, of course, white men and white women, they kind of did what they did.
00:14:35 --> 00:14:43 White men voted for Trump 59%, and white women voted for Trump 52%.
00:14:44 --> 00:14:49 Kamala didn't even get more than half of either white men or white women.
00:14:50 --> 00:14:54 And it's evident because when you look at the map and you look at the book,
00:14:55 --> 00:15:00 I mean, the states that she lost that went red, that's probably where you find a lot of those people.
00:15:01 --> 00:15:11 Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. I mean, you know, that's it's, you know, there's so many things here.
00:15:11 --> 00:15:13 I mean, to unpack.
00:15:14 --> 00:15:20 I go back on the theory. I mean, I have my own little theory on this whole thing.
00:15:20 --> 00:15:23 I think Trump played us. I personally do.
00:15:24 --> 00:15:30 You said Trump played what? I think Trump played us. I really do.
00:15:31 --> 00:15:39 I think that he and the people, his campaign people, came up with a plan,
00:15:39 --> 00:15:42 and they worked the plan to perfection.
00:15:42 --> 00:15:47 So did he really play us, or did he just work the hell out of his plan?
00:15:47 --> 00:15:56 No, I think the playing us is part of his plan, was part of his plan to win.
00:15:56 --> 00:16:00 So let's go back. Let's think about the timeline.
00:16:01 --> 00:16:06 You know, when the announcement was made that Biden wasn't going to run again
00:16:06 --> 00:16:13 and Kamala was going to run, of course, Trump shifted all of his rhetoric and
00:16:13 --> 00:16:16 everything else that he was doing towards Kamala.
00:16:16 --> 00:16:25 Then you see the ads pop up i have to admit trump's ad campaign whether you liked it or not.
00:16:26 --> 00:16:32 Probably turned a lot of people's minds man with the way that they cut those
00:16:32 --> 00:16:36 things cut up with which he said the way they made her look in these commercials
00:16:36 --> 00:16:42 yeah i i think i think the people really paid a lot of attention to that.
00:16:42 --> 00:16:48 He goes to Pennsylvania, a place that he knows that he needs to win.
00:16:48 --> 00:16:53 All of a sudden, he gets shot in Pennsylvania while campaigning.
00:16:54 --> 00:16:57 Well, allegedly. I'm going to put it that way.
00:16:59 --> 00:17:03 Have you heard any more about the guy that did the shooting? No.
00:17:05 --> 00:17:10 Have you heard anything? I haven't looked either, but I have not heard anything.
00:17:11 --> 00:17:16 Look, people that did shootings are presidents years ago, we still hear about, don't we?
00:17:17 --> 00:17:20 Some of them, yes. Yeah, yeah.
00:17:21 --> 00:17:25 Person that shot Martin Luther King, we still hear about, right?
00:17:26 --> 00:17:37 We do. Okay. so when that guy was supposedly killed after the president they
00:17:37 --> 00:17:40 said he was shot and that was all that was left to it,
00:17:42 --> 00:17:47 no big news about him after that right you and I are looking at news all day
00:17:47 --> 00:17:54 long so you post all day long how much have you seen about the guy probably
00:17:54 --> 00:17:55 after that first couple weeks nothing,
00:17:56 --> 00:17:58 right okay,
00:17:59 --> 00:18:03 he goes there he gets shot at in Pennsylvania,
00:18:04 --> 00:18:08 and make a big deal out of it a couple what was it a week or a couple weeks
00:18:08 --> 00:18:12 later he's back there campaigning again remember he had the pat on one moment
00:18:12 --> 00:18:15 then he didn't have it on you know you know,
00:18:16 --> 00:18:17 then.
00:18:18 --> 00:18:24 You know the ads are all attacking Kamala in a way like she was the president
00:18:24 --> 00:18:27 of the United States and not Joe Biden,
00:18:27 --> 00:18:30 and that she had all this power to do
00:18:30 --> 00:18:33 all the stuff that they said she did and that's
00:18:33 --> 00:18:37 he needs that right okay okay so
00:18:37 --> 00:18:40 as we go along and we
00:18:40 --> 00:18:43 keep hearing about the thing then the debate comes up the
00:18:43 --> 00:18:46 debate comes up harris answers all
00:18:46 --> 00:18:49 the questions does what he does they said
00:18:49 --> 00:18:52 she wins the debate what does uh trump
00:18:52 --> 00:18:56 do he has this little moment where he says they're
00:18:56 --> 00:18:59 eating the dogs are eating the cats all of
00:18:59 --> 00:19:02 a sudden everything else that was talked about in that debate is not
00:19:02 --> 00:19:09 present anymore trump manages to steal the headlines again he just kept going
00:19:09 --> 00:19:14 and going and going and keeping his name out there every little thing he was
00:19:14 --> 00:19:18 doing even a couple days ago when he was up there talking about his mic wasn't
00:19:18 --> 00:19:20 working did you see what his mic wasn't working and he No.
00:19:21 --> 00:19:27 Oh, my God. That was so hysterical. His mic wasn't working, and he's talking
00:19:27 --> 00:19:29 to the people. He said, they can't hear me. They can't hear me.
00:19:29 --> 00:19:33 He's got the empty mic stand, and he starts doing this to the mic stand,
00:19:33 --> 00:19:35 like giving it a hit or something like that.
00:19:36 --> 00:19:40 Everybody's like, what? What is he doing? But this is the kind of stuff that
00:19:40 --> 00:19:44 he kept doing to make people pay attention to him.
00:19:45 --> 00:19:49 He used the Jedi mind trick on everybody, man.
00:19:49 --> 00:19:56 I'm telling you, he kept himself in the news each and every day, just about.
00:19:56 --> 00:20:02 He got these people to vote for him. And the numbers now are better than they
00:20:02 --> 00:20:05 were when he won. Yeah, they were better than 2020.
00:20:06 --> 00:20:13 Yeah. Okay. His approval rating is better than it was in 2020, when he won before.
00:20:13 --> 00:20:16 I mean, 2016, when he won before. you know
00:20:16 --> 00:20:20 so what is this thing so i
00:20:20 --> 00:20:23 i have a different viewpoint i i hear what you're saying
00:20:23 --> 00:20:26 i know you do i know you do but go ahead my my facts
00:20:26 --> 00:20:29 are lining up a little or my my thought pattern is lining up a
00:20:29 --> 00:20:33 little bit different and i mean some of it you know i thought about it when
00:20:33 --> 00:20:37 we were listening to you know the debate coverage which is days to be honest
00:20:37 --> 00:20:43 i was watching two channels i think i was watching msnbc and cnn and i don't
00:20:43 --> 00:20:47 know what channels you watch but I thought the coverage they had was excellent,
00:20:47 --> 00:20:49 you know, and maybe it's like that every four years.
00:20:49 --> 00:20:55 I forget, but it was just very important last night. Yeah. Yeah. Just overall.
00:20:57 --> 00:21:00 But, you know, I think a couple of things and some of us from listening.
00:21:00 --> 00:21:11 One is I think Kamala Harris didn't have the benefit of knowing what worked or didn't work before.
00:21:11 --> 00:21:16 And the reason why I say that is because I listened to one newscaster or anchor
00:21:16 --> 00:21:21 or whatever, and they were saying that some of the places Trump was weakened,
00:21:21 --> 00:21:28 like some of those rural Midwestern places, he campaigned heavier there this go around.
00:21:28 --> 00:21:32 And I was like, okay, that makes sense. So that's my one point.
00:21:32 --> 00:21:40 My second point is, and I, so one of the polls I saw yesterday said that the
00:21:40 --> 00:21:46 most concerning factor in America, and this was 40% of the people were concerned
00:21:46 --> 00:21:47 about this was the economy.
00:21:48 --> 00:21:50 And unfortunately, the,
00:21:51 --> 00:21:59 Harris was kind of tied to Biden, who, you know, during his economy period just
00:21:59 --> 00:22:03 wasn't the greatest. Maybe no fault of his. You know, that's Congress and they're fighting.
00:22:03 --> 00:22:10 But I feel like a lot of people felt like she was just going to carry on his plan.
00:22:11 --> 00:22:13 And kind of like and I do agree. One of Trump's ads.
00:22:14 --> 00:22:20 Well, yeah, one of Trump's ads, they replayed Kamala Harris getting interviewed.
00:22:21 --> 00:22:24 And the interviewer said, well, what would you do different from Biden?
00:22:24 --> 00:22:26 And she said, oh, well, you know, nothing really.
00:22:27 --> 00:22:30 And, of course, they played the hell out of that. And then afterwards she came
00:22:30 --> 00:22:32 out with stuff she'd do different, but she had said it.
00:22:33 --> 00:22:39 And then the last thing before it slips my mind, because, Dave, it's slipping now.
00:22:40 --> 00:22:47 But the last, yeah, oh, my goodness. Damn, Dave, I have my three points. But hold on.
00:22:53 --> 00:22:56 But anyway, Dave, I'm going to end it there because the third point is not coming.
00:22:58 --> 00:23:04 But Dave, I do agree with you. I think Kamala Harris played the good game,
00:23:04 --> 00:23:07 but Donald Trump played politics.
00:23:12 --> 00:23:16 Everybody always say take the high road. road and the
00:23:16 --> 00:23:19 high road can work sometimes but sometimes you can't
00:23:19 --> 00:23:22 take the high road sometimes you gotta take the same road you know
00:23:22 --> 00:23:25 what i mean yeah and and you know i i think what
00:23:25 --> 00:23:30 she was doing was she was trying to show that she wasn't like him so she you
00:23:30 --> 00:23:35 know she didn't put some of those scathing ass and all that but you know i mean
00:23:35 --> 00:23:40 maybe she shouldn't well you know yeah there's a number of things that she's
00:23:40 --> 00:23:42 probably thinking to herself, man,
00:23:43 --> 00:23:46 I should have did this differently. I should have did that differently.
00:23:47 --> 00:23:50 But then, let me ask you a question.
00:23:51 --> 00:23:57 Does this also say, because it's the second time this has happened in less than 10 years,
00:23:58 --> 00:24:02 that a woman had a shot at being president of the United States,
00:24:02 --> 00:24:09 a very qualified person, and she didn't get the, she didn't bring home the prize.
00:24:10 --> 00:24:14 Is America saying a woman can't do the job?
00:24:14 --> 00:24:20 I'm going to flip your answer. I think America is not ready for a black woman president.
00:24:20 --> 00:24:23 No, I mean, I'm not even, I'm not even going there with the race.
00:24:24 --> 00:24:25 That's a whole other story.
00:24:25 --> 00:24:28 That, that, that is a different story in the cell.
00:24:29 --> 00:24:34 I'm just saying, is America ready? Because we've had one white and one black
00:24:34 --> 00:24:38 woman to run for president who was supposed to,
00:24:38 --> 00:24:41 according to numbers and everything supposed
00:24:41 --> 00:24:44 to either put up a good showing
00:24:44 --> 00:24:47 or when when that race neither one
00:24:47 --> 00:24:50 of them did so it's not necessarily about
00:24:50 --> 00:24:53 black woman it's not necessary about a white woman
00:24:53 --> 00:24:56 it's about a woman well Dave
00:24:56 --> 00:25:05 let me say this and when I was reading this happened to hillary too white women
00:25:05 --> 00:25:12 did not show up for women white women didn't show up for hillary and white women
00:25:12 --> 00:25:13 definitely didn't show up for kamala.
00:25:16 --> 00:25:22 Well no no they they voted voted for the other person yeah okay yeah okay and
00:25:22 --> 00:25:26 and the only reason i say because you know i feel like okay men are and i mean
00:25:26 --> 00:25:32 no no skip no letting people off the road, but men are going to vote how they're going to vote.
00:25:32 --> 00:25:35 But I personally, when I looked at the stats,
00:25:36 --> 00:25:41 I thought because of how vulgar Donald Trump was of reproductive rights,
00:25:41 --> 00:25:48 I thought more white women would have voted for Kamala, and they didn't. Right.
00:25:52 --> 00:25:59 Just on the reproductive rights thing alone, I thought she would have done better
00:25:59 --> 00:26:03 getting that vote, the popular vote, and it's,
00:26:05 --> 00:26:11 the people, the electoral votes that he needed in order to win the race because
00:26:11 --> 00:26:16 he was definitely a woman who understood,
00:26:17 --> 00:26:22 what it meant to have those rights taken away from you and the right to choose
00:26:22 --> 00:26:25 the two with your body, which you choose the two.
00:26:25 --> 00:26:31 But for some reason, I mean, when they say only in America, Leonard.
00:26:33 --> 00:26:37 Only in america could something like this happen yeah you
00:26:37 --> 00:26:40 know only in america can a
00:26:40 --> 00:26:44 white man be a 34 time convicted
00:26:44 --> 00:26:47 felon still be allowed to
00:26:47 --> 00:26:50 run for the president of the united states when you
00:26:50 --> 00:26:53 have felons who can't vote for the
00:26:53 --> 00:26:58 president of the united states okay so they
00:26:58 --> 00:27:01 can't vote you have people in prison who can't vote
00:27:01 --> 00:27:04 because it's against the
00:27:04 --> 00:27:07 law but it's not against the law for you to
00:27:07 --> 00:27:11 be convicted of 34 charges and
00:27:11 --> 00:27:20 be able to run for president well if you have the right skin color i guess plus
00:27:20 --> 00:27:27 i think also what aided him was the fact that everybody knew that he would not
00:27:27 --> 00:27:30 have to face these charges if he won.
00:27:30 --> 00:27:34 So how many people went out there and voted to keep him from having to face
00:27:34 --> 00:27:36 those charges? Yeah, exactly.
00:27:37 --> 00:27:43 I don't get what happened last night. It's just mind-boggling to me,
00:27:43 --> 00:27:54 mind-boggling that we can have a situation like this to happen and people be okay with it.
00:27:54 --> 00:27:58 You and I joked earlier about moving out the country.
00:27:58 --> 00:28:01 There's going to be a lot of people moving out of the United States over the
00:28:01 --> 00:28:04 next four or five years. A lot.
00:28:04 --> 00:28:09 The other countries are looking at us and laughing at us right now. I don't care.
00:28:09 --> 00:28:16 His boy Putin is probably saying, okay, you know, he is salivating probably right about now.
00:28:18 --> 00:28:24 Because, you know, they know that the person they need to be in office is in office. right.
00:28:27 --> 00:28:33 And guess what else we get because of that? What happened last night and the win last night?
00:28:34 --> 00:28:36 We get a J.D. Vance. That's what we do.
00:28:39 --> 00:28:43 Well, and I know it's coming, but we're going to be getting an Elon Musk,
00:28:43 --> 00:28:48 too, because they said that he is he's going to be looking for a position and
00:28:48 --> 00:28:50 Trump is probably going to be giving it to him.
00:28:52 --> 00:28:59 It's amazing it's really amazing that what we need is we need Jasmine Crotch
00:28:59 --> 00:29:06 to run against them because you think she would take all that stuff that he threw at Kamala?
00:29:06 --> 00:29:15 No she wouldn't we need somebody with and the Democrats just look weak all together
00:29:15 --> 00:29:20 right now, they really do they look beat they look like,
00:29:20 --> 00:29:25 they don't know what they're doing and it's
00:29:25 --> 00:29:28 just not a good time right now yeah
00:29:28 --> 00:29:32 i think it's going to be hard too because with the
00:29:32 --> 00:29:38 house taking over and the senate taking over it's going to be hard to fight
00:29:38 --> 00:29:42 some of these regulations that's coming over like getting rid of dei and diversity
00:29:42 --> 00:29:49 inclusion banning african-american history in schools banning books you know all these things I mean,
00:29:50 --> 00:29:52 it's definitely going to be an uphill battle.
00:29:53 --> 00:30:01 Well, if we can get Snoop to run, you know, 28, you know, I'd vote for Snoop.
00:30:02 --> 00:30:07 You know, yeah, I would vote for Snoop. Snoop probably could win.
00:30:07 --> 00:30:12 You know what I mean? So it's a mess, man. It really is.
00:30:13 --> 00:30:17 And, well, we can't be remiss not to talk about the local elections.
00:30:18 --> 00:30:21 So everything kind of went pretty much the way we thought they would.
00:30:22 --> 00:30:26 Have matt meyer well what
00:30:26 --> 00:30:28 would they dave you remember we got listeners all over
00:30:28 --> 00:30:32 so you may want to give a little more what local means
00:30:32 --> 00:30:35 oh yeah that's right well in the delaware
00:30:35 --> 00:30:38 race well before i go to delaware there was a big pennsylvania race
00:30:38 --> 00:30:41 too which was casey against
00:30:41 --> 00:30:44 mccormick so true to
00:30:44 --> 00:30:47 form with the way that everything was
00:30:47 --> 00:30:55 going with the trump paris campaign the mccormick and casey campaign kind of
00:30:55 --> 00:31:00 ran the same way and the ads were you could the ads were basically the same
00:31:00 --> 00:31:07 type of ads so mccormick actually beats casey to take his seat,
00:31:08 --> 00:31:12 and i just thought that was very interesting because the whole play is that
00:31:12 --> 00:31:17 mccormick is supposedly this rich guy from Connecticut who they keep saying
00:31:17 --> 00:31:20 really doesn't live in PA, you know,
00:31:20 --> 00:31:23 but he manages, manages to win.
00:31:24 --> 00:31:27 I thought that was interesting. Did you, did you have any thoughts on that race?
00:31:27 --> 00:31:31 To be honest, you know, I think Democrats, I think people in general have been
00:31:31 --> 00:31:34 frustrated and I think they wanted a change.
00:31:34 --> 00:31:40 And unfortunately this election was a chance where they could make changes.
00:31:42 --> 00:31:50 Okay. Well, speaking of changes, here in Delaware, we have a new governor. His name is Matt Myers.
00:31:51 --> 00:31:59 For those who don't know him, he's taking over for the current governor,
00:31:59 --> 00:32:03 who just got elected Mayor of Wilmington.
00:32:04 --> 00:32:07 Yeah, you guys outside of Delaware who listen to us,
00:32:08 --> 00:32:11 you did hear me say Mayor of Wilmington, meaning
00:32:11 --> 00:32:18 that he went from governor of the state to mayor of a city in delaware that's
00:32:18 --> 00:32:30 a whole another subject folks you know but congratulations to carney and also to matt myers then we had.
00:32:32 --> 00:32:34 Delaware darling a lot of
00:32:34 --> 00:32:37 people like to call her our new shining star lisa
00:32:37 --> 00:32:44 blunt rochester became the four black was four black woman is that the case
00:32:44 --> 00:32:53 or four black senator I think it's third or fourth black senator ever yeah fourth
00:32:53 --> 00:32:56 I think it's fourth black senator in the United States,
00:32:57 --> 00:33:07 she is taking over the spot that Tom Carper left and it was a great win we know
00:33:07 --> 00:33:14 she's going to do it great and awesome choice for that position you know way
00:33:14 --> 00:33:16 to go lisa blunt rochester.
00:33:20 --> 00:33:26 Real quick on that note, with Lisa in Maryland, there was also a black woman
00:33:26 --> 00:33:30 running for Senate, too. Angela also Brooks.
00:33:31 --> 00:33:35 You're right. Yeah. And she also won, too. So I believe Lisa.
00:33:36 --> 00:33:39 I forgot to check her. Yeah. So she did win.
00:33:39 --> 00:33:47 So Lisa and Angela will, I guess, be third and fourth or fourth and fifth black woman in the Senate.
00:33:47 --> 00:33:53 That's great that's great that's all so yeah he's up and coming as well but
00:33:53 --> 00:34:00 doing some great things but that's great yeah another big win yesterday sarah mcbride,
00:34:01 --> 00:34:13 won her race and will be representing delaware in washington and you know her campaign had a big foot.
00:34:14 --> 00:34:22 She's the first transgender elected official, right, in the United States.
00:34:23 --> 00:34:27 And to Congress, yes. Yeah, to Congress.
00:34:27 --> 00:34:34 And, you know, it's a big thing. And, you know, she's got a lot of backing.
00:34:34 --> 00:34:42 And actually, you know, she is, you know, a new star on the up and coming as far as Washington.
00:34:44 --> 00:34:49 So Delaware doing some big things and you know we had some people in city council
00:34:49 --> 00:34:54 to retain their seats I think almost everybody did right I don't think anybody changed seats right,
00:34:55 --> 00:35:01 um yeah I think everybody remained the same yeah yeah so so it was a good it
00:35:01 --> 00:35:06 was also a good night in Delaware as well well it was a good night in Delaware
00:35:06 --> 00:35:07 period I'm gonna put it that way,
00:35:09 --> 00:35:12 I also want to mention our friend to the show, Marcus Henry.
00:35:12 --> 00:35:16 So he did not have. Oh, yeah. Oh, yeah. Yeah, that's right. He did not have
00:35:16 --> 00:35:19 an opponent, you know, for this, the general election.
00:35:19 --> 00:35:21 But, you know, he won his primary.
00:35:22 --> 00:35:28 And I guess now he is a new friend to the show. So he will be the Newcastle
00:35:28 --> 00:35:30 County executive. Yeah.
00:35:32 --> 00:35:37 You know, and of course, you know, for those who know a little bit about Marcus,
00:35:37 --> 00:35:43 Marcus is the son of former Senator Margaret Rose.
00:35:43 --> 00:35:48 And so, you know, he's got great bloodlines, and I'm sure he's going to do a great job.
00:35:49 --> 00:35:54 Congratulations, Mr. Henry Owens. You don't put him in as well. Okay.
00:35:55 --> 00:36:02 Good night in Delaware. As far as the, I guess I'm going to say the favorites,
00:36:02 --> 00:36:09 as far as the favorites were concerned, they all seem to do pretty well. Very well, I should say.
00:36:11 --> 00:36:16 I just wish it had happened on the national level. That's all I'm going to say. Yeah.
00:36:18 --> 00:36:23 You know, I think I didn't get a chance to see it. I must have missed it.
00:36:23 --> 00:36:30 I know Kamala has already... I saw that Kamala had already reached out to Trump
00:36:30 --> 00:36:35 in reference to talking to him about having a peaceful transition.
00:36:35 --> 00:36:40 But did she ever speak to her people last night?
00:36:41 --> 00:36:44 Or so i'm i'm not sure i hadn't seen
00:36:44 --> 00:36:47 no last night when i went to bid he hadn't talked to
00:36:47 --> 00:36:49 anybody because they they were made you
00:36:49 --> 00:36:55 know trump was there by his place he made his way over to his hall but i don't
00:36:55 --> 00:37:00 think she wanted to wait till after the race was definitely called yeah i'm
00:37:00 --> 00:37:04 sure i i did tune in this morning and i did listen to trump's speech it was
00:37:04 --> 00:37:09 26 minutes long and he praised and talked about how great he was.
00:37:09 --> 00:37:13 He praised Elon Musk. He praised JD Vance.
00:37:13 --> 00:37:18 He praised Dana White, you know, you know, all these people.
00:37:18 --> 00:37:20 So all these celebrities.
00:37:21 --> 00:37:27 Yeah. So I'm sure he talked about, you know, everything that he's talking about.
00:37:27 --> 00:37:32 So Dave, we, we can, we can be assured that news and trends will never go anywhere
00:37:32 --> 00:37:37 because we're going to have a plethora of topics to talk about every every week
00:37:37 --> 00:37:44 based on trump and you know his people rising up and possibly acting ignorant.
00:37:46 --> 00:37:54 That's a nice way to put this okay all right uh yeah it's you know brave new
00:37:54 --> 00:37:59 world that we're living in man it really is and you know somebody said to me
00:37:59 --> 00:38:04 today well what if things actually go well under his leadership this time around.
00:38:05 --> 00:38:11 And I said to that person, what if I became a millionaire tomorrow?
00:38:12 --> 00:38:14 And they just looked at me and said, are you serious? I said,
00:38:14 --> 00:38:19 yeah, I'm serious. I said, I just don't see this ending well. I really don't.
00:38:19 --> 00:38:22 But I hope he can make me wrong.
00:38:25 --> 00:38:28 And it can't it won't be him it would have
00:38:28 --> 00:38:32 to be people that work for him because i'm
00:38:32 --> 00:38:35 still waiting for him to talk about policies i'm still
00:38:35 --> 00:38:38 waiting for it and if this project 2025 gets put
00:38:38 --> 00:38:44 in place one that he keeps saying he has nothing to do with right let's see
00:38:44 --> 00:38:49 how many people feel the same way about voting for him after that's put in place
00:38:49 --> 00:38:56 right okay so that's all i got to say in reference to what happened last night.
00:38:56 --> 00:39:00 I'm sure we, I know I'm going to have more to say as the time goes on,
00:39:01 --> 00:39:04 especially in January when he's actually torn into office.
00:39:05 --> 00:39:09 But you got anything you want to say in reference to that?
00:39:09 --> 00:39:13 No, I mean, you know, Dave, I feel like we just got to sit back,
00:39:13 --> 00:39:20 buckle up, and hold the F on. There you go.
00:39:21 --> 00:39:23 Hang on, Snoopy, hang on. That's what we got to do.
00:39:25 --> 00:39:29 All right. Enough about that.
00:39:30 --> 00:39:36 Wanted to take a moment, a brief moment to talk about another icon that we just
00:39:36 --> 00:39:38 recently lost this past week.
00:39:40 --> 00:39:44 Mr. Quincy Jones. You know, Q was the man.
00:39:44 --> 00:39:47 I'm telling you that. He died at 91 years old.
00:39:47 --> 00:39:50 When you look at all the
00:39:50 --> 00:39:53 stuff this man has done in his
00:39:53 --> 00:40:01 lifetime it is unbelievable what he has accomplished and the stuff that he's
00:40:01 --> 00:40:08 touched or written you're like oh he wrote that or he did that you know that
00:40:08 --> 00:40:13 type of thing quincy jones was definitely an icon,
00:40:14 --> 00:40:16 seem like he he you know when they talk about
00:40:16 --> 00:40:20 the midas touch and everything that person
00:40:20 --> 00:40:23 touches turns to gold that was that was
00:40:23 --> 00:40:26 quincy john very few flops very few
00:40:26 --> 00:40:29 things that didn't go well even stuff that
00:40:29 --> 00:40:32 they even stuff that they talked about
00:40:32 --> 00:40:35 wasn't that good because remember the movie the whiz came
00:40:35 --> 00:40:38 out they really they really
00:40:38 --> 00:40:41 the critics really hated it but you
00:40:41 --> 00:40:44 know what they loved about the movie was the
00:40:44 --> 00:40:47 soundtrack yep there you go and who
00:40:47 --> 00:40:54 was responsible for the soundtrack mr quincey john so when you look at all that
00:40:54 --> 00:41:01 he's done you know we could talk about we are the world and of course the michael
00:41:01 --> 00:41:05 jackson trilogy albums that he did with michael.
00:41:08 --> 00:41:11 Responsible for the press print will will
00:41:11 --> 00:41:14 smith been really become a will smith
00:41:14 --> 00:41:18 i mean he just did so much man what's
00:41:18 --> 00:41:21 your thoughts on quincey john yeah i mean you know i think
00:41:21 --> 00:41:25 he's an icon i think for people of a younger age they
00:41:25 --> 00:41:28 may not be as familiar directly with
00:41:28 --> 00:41:31 this stuff but i'm sure they're influenced by it
00:41:31 --> 00:41:34 and probably their favorite artists and celebrities have been
00:41:34 --> 00:41:37 very influence yeah and his
00:41:37 --> 00:41:45 albums man you know his albums are crazy a matter of fact i'm doing something
00:41:45 --> 00:41:47 right now i wanted to look at
00:41:47 --> 00:41:56 look up how many grammys he's had yeah let's see I know he had quite a few,
00:41:58 --> 00:42:01 28 28 was
00:42:01 --> 00:42:04 it he has 28 Grammys a primetime
00:42:04 --> 00:42:12 Emmy Award a Tony Award as well as 7 nominations for the Academy Awards and
00:42:12 --> 00:42:19 4 I mean that's what it says here he only got nominated he never won he didn't
00:42:19 --> 00:42:21 win for the Color Purple I thought he did,
00:42:23 --> 00:42:26 I guess you did wow okay.
00:42:28 --> 00:42:32 28 Grammys folks you
00:42:32 --> 00:42:38 don't do that you don't do that you know without being good and he had such
00:42:38 --> 00:42:44 a cross section of music like he was a part of jazz he was a part of he was
00:42:44 --> 00:42:49 a part of country he did a little bit of rock and roll stuff R&B of course and
00:42:49 --> 00:42:52 string rapids, hands, all over R&B as well.
00:42:53 --> 00:42:59 And even hip-hop he was involved in. So he's done all kinds of different genres of music.
00:43:00 --> 00:43:08 And, you know, and then, you know, he was married to a former actress, Miss Peggy Lipton.
00:43:08 --> 00:43:10 This is for the old school people.
00:43:10 --> 00:43:14 Who was the actress that was on The Rookies back in the day.
00:43:14 --> 00:43:16 I'm sorry, the hot squad back in the day.
00:43:17 --> 00:43:24 He was an actress on there then of course he had two daughters Kandada Jones who was also an actress,
00:43:25 --> 00:43:31 and who famously was hooked up with Tupac at one time and that's Rashida Jones
00:43:31 --> 00:43:37 and a lot of people don't know Rashida Jones but you know who she is no I don't,
00:43:38 --> 00:43:40 See? There you go.
00:43:42 --> 00:43:45 Look her up. I bet you know who she is when you look at her.
00:43:46 --> 00:43:48 A lot of people don't realize that's Quincy Jones' daughter,
00:43:48 --> 00:43:57 but Rashida Jones is R-A-S-I no, R-A-S-H-I-D-A I think.
00:43:57 --> 00:44:00 I see it here. Do you recognize her?
00:44:01 --> 00:44:04 No, I don't. Leonard, Leonard, Leonard. You don't watch enough movies.
00:44:05 --> 00:44:07 She had a couple TV shows.
00:44:09 --> 00:44:15 She was on boston public pi or choppy or something like that it was sort of like,
00:44:15 --> 00:44:18 parks and rec yeah she's been on quite a few things and
00:44:18 --> 00:44:22 she's been in quite a few movies but she you
00:44:22 --> 00:44:25 know you never noticed he was poisey jones or no yeah
00:44:25 --> 00:44:28 yeah you definitely wouldn't yeah yeah you would
00:44:28 --> 00:44:31 never know that but yeah so you know the guy
00:44:31 --> 00:44:34 you know he had a talented their family as
00:44:34 --> 00:44:37 well he's going to be met his music
00:44:37 --> 00:44:40 will live on forever and it would
00:44:40 --> 00:44:43 be boldly remiss if we didn't mention the great
00:44:43 --> 00:44:46 works and the great man and you
00:44:46 --> 00:44:53 know just say kudos job well done to mr quincy john may he rest in paradise
00:44:53 --> 00:44:59 man we're losing some great ones man but you know it's not it's not unusual
00:44:59 --> 00:45:05 at this time when we're starting to see a lot of our 70 and 80-plus-year-old
00:45:05 --> 00:45:06 people starting to pass away,
00:45:07 --> 00:45:09 that have been with us for a long time, you know.
00:45:10 --> 00:45:17 You know, seem like they've always been around forever, you know. And he literally was.
00:45:18 --> 00:45:22 I mean, God, he was 91 years old. He's been around a long time, you know, so. Yeah.
00:45:25 --> 00:45:29 To make sure that we gave him his props okay all
00:45:29 --> 00:45:32 right and we got a story for you for today that
00:45:32 --> 00:45:36 leonard's going to talk about and go ahead leonard yep
00:45:36 --> 00:45:41 so this story i got from none other than dave coker special request he's like
00:45:41 --> 00:45:46 dave leonard you got to talk about this i said okay all right so he's lying
00:45:46 --> 00:45:50 folks but go ahead all right but dave anyway so i'm sure you heard about this
00:45:50 --> 00:45:53 story because it's been making its way around social media.
00:45:53 --> 00:46:05 There was an official in Equatorial Guinea who was investigated for having hundreds of sex videos.
00:46:05 --> 00:46:12 And what they're saying is, so the government searched this man's computer.
00:46:12 --> 00:46:14 It says his nickname is Bello.
00:46:15 --> 00:46:22 They searched his computer, and during this search, they found, of course, corruption,
00:46:22 --> 00:46:32 embezzlement of funds, and they also found up to 400 sex videos of him and multiple women.
00:46:32 --> 00:46:34 And they didn't get this. This really makes it worse.
00:46:34 --> 00:46:41 Some of these women were wives and relatives of senior government officials.
00:46:41 --> 00:46:43 Can you believe that?
00:46:44 --> 00:46:50 Yeah yeah i know it's crazy yeah so bring one on social media right so this
00:46:50 --> 00:47:00 is he's their version he may be their version of diddy magic johnson yeah you
00:47:00 --> 00:47:03 remember you know in the video he was laid up with all the women and.
00:47:05 --> 00:47:10 Yeah. And in fact, Dave, who's that rapper who has like 12, 17,
00:47:10 --> 00:47:16 20 kids there? There were some articles about it a couple of years ago. But yeah, Dave.
00:47:16 --> 00:47:21 So this is bad. Now, some of the videos have leaked and gone viral on social media.
00:47:22 --> 00:47:28 So, of course, if anybody's on, you know, Twitter or formerly known as Twitter,
00:47:28 --> 00:47:30 the videos are all there.
00:47:31 --> 00:47:35 And according to them, Leonard, is that what you're saying?
00:47:35 --> 00:47:43 Well, they saw, I did my research for the article because, you know,
00:47:43 --> 00:47:47 I, I just wanted to make sure I was informed about what we were reporting on,
00:47:47 --> 00:47:49 you know? Yeah. Right. Okay.
00:47:49 --> 00:47:53 So, I mean, and, and I mean, they're definitely on Twitter and it's wild,
00:47:53 --> 00:47:56 but, you know, some of the wildest parts about it is,
00:47:56 --> 00:48:01 you know, you would think if he was having the videos with wives of government
00:48:01 --> 00:48:05 officials that, you know, he would have had like a hidden camera.
00:48:05 --> 00:48:07 Or, you know, he was trying to conceal it.
00:48:08 --> 00:48:12 Dave, these videos appear to be consensual. And when I say consensual,
00:48:13 --> 00:48:19 I'm referring to not to say him waving at the camera,
00:48:20 --> 00:48:23 but him adjusting the camera, making sure the position was correct.
00:48:23 --> 00:48:29 You know, I mean, you know, just, you know, I mean, it was wild.
00:48:29 --> 00:48:33 So, you know, a lot of these have been consensual.
00:48:33 --> 00:48:39 And Dave, when I say this is probably the biggest news and one of the biggest
00:48:39 --> 00:48:43 scandals that this country has had in a long time, what a lot of people are
00:48:43 --> 00:48:46 asking, and I'm sure you are about to ask the same thing,
00:48:46 --> 00:48:51 is 400 or more women.
00:48:52 --> 00:48:57 Protection, you know, are there threats of, you know, the spread of disease
00:48:57 --> 00:49:00 among the population, you know, so. What about the spread of babies?
00:49:01 --> 00:49:05 Right. Yeah. I mean, you know, well, you know, give it a couple of months.
00:49:05 --> 00:49:09 We may be hearing about that too, but there's also been a lot of backlash.
00:49:09 --> 00:49:17 So there has been one lady who I guess was a wife of somebody and her video
00:49:17 --> 00:49:19 was out there. She committed suicide.
00:49:21 --> 00:49:28 There was also a video that just recently came out where a man on video was
00:49:28 --> 00:49:32 confronting his wife about the video he saw of her.
00:49:33 --> 00:49:38 And towards the end of the video, it looked like maybe once the video cut off
00:49:38 --> 00:49:39 that it might have gotten a little violent.
00:49:39 --> 00:49:47 And then I hadn't seen it, but I did hear that the country of Equatorial Guinea
00:49:47 --> 00:49:58 has cut off multiple social media platforms to prevent the even more spreading of the video.
00:49:58 --> 00:50:04 So, you know, it's something that had really kind of gone viral.
00:50:04 --> 00:50:10 And even though, you know, these videos, they probably should have been confiscated and held.
00:50:11 --> 00:50:14 These videos were definitely released unedited.
00:50:15 --> 00:50:18 And when I say unedited, you know, no faces were blurred. So,
00:50:18 --> 00:50:24 you know, these women, you know, were basically visible and able to be identified.
00:50:25 --> 00:50:28 So, is he facing any jail time?
00:50:28 --> 00:50:33 So, it hadn't really said yet, but it said... I mean, I'm sure he will be because...
00:50:36 --> 00:50:39 Even found the videos because they believed that there
00:50:39 --> 00:50:42 was corruption and he had embezzled public funds so
00:50:42 --> 00:50:45 as of right now i've not heard anything about jail time
00:50:45 --> 00:50:48 but they did
00:50:48 --> 00:50:51 also say not only that
00:50:51 --> 00:50:54 but you know some of the sexual activity he had was
00:50:54 --> 00:50:57 in public offices and you know
00:50:57 --> 00:51:01 so i'm sure he has something coming to him we're
00:51:01 --> 00:51:04 just not sure what yeah well he's bad
00:51:04 --> 00:51:08 he's bad have a couple of bodyguards with him at all times because
00:51:08 --> 00:51:11 uh i'm sure there's going to be some retaliation at
00:51:11 --> 00:51:14 some point yeah no i'm no i
00:51:14 --> 00:51:21 mean i'm i'm definitely sure because one of the of the wives or one of the women
00:51:21 --> 00:51:30 was wife of one of the police chiefs so you know i mean i'm sure I'm sure there's
00:51:30 --> 00:51:34 so much more to come with this story, but...
00:51:34 --> 00:51:38 Was it Idris or Tenzel or what? What did he look like?
00:51:39 --> 00:51:44 I mean, was he... I mean, to be honest, he just looked light-skinned,
00:51:44 --> 00:51:45 bald-haired. Like a regular guy?
00:51:45 --> 00:51:49 Yeah, I mean, he looked like a regular guy. Okay, all right.
00:51:50 --> 00:51:54 Maybe he was just a smooth talker. Maybe a smooth operator, I don't know.
00:51:54 --> 00:51:58 Well, I mean, the thing that gets me is none of these women were...
00:51:58 --> 00:52:05 They wasn't attractive yeah I mean like I mean I don't know none of them were hiding so.
00:52:08 --> 00:52:14 Interesting the world we live in people I mean you know somebody like this,
00:52:15 --> 00:52:19 get a member president and become president of the United States maybe so Dave,
00:52:20 --> 00:52:25 you know we'll probably hear a lot about this later you already did by the way
00:52:25 --> 00:52:28 but go ahead Yes, I mean, we'll probably hear about this later,
00:52:28 --> 00:52:32 but, you know, you'll probably want to go do your research and, you know, just so.
00:52:36 --> 00:52:41 You know, even with online, I'm sure all these videos that get taken down,
00:52:42 --> 00:52:47 you know, rapidly just, you know, just because, you know, just because of the
00:52:47 --> 00:52:48 situation that happens.
00:52:48 --> 00:52:52 So you have to go through the dark web is that what you're saying you gotta
00:52:52 --> 00:52:57 go down you gotta go to the dark side or threats or something man to be able
00:52:57 --> 00:53:02 to find them yeah i mean but i mean david it's just crazy you know i mean.
00:53:03 --> 00:53:06 And of course everything gone viral so
00:53:06 --> 00:53:09 of course you know a lot of people are joking on social
00:53:09 --> 00:53:12 media talking about they're trying to get their plane tickets and
00:53:12 --> 00:53:21 you know yeah that's the place to be man you know you know they'd be careful
00:53:21 --> 00:53:25 don't end up on nobody video over there yeah no let's hope that our president
00:53:25 --> 00:53:30 don't go there anytime soon our newly elected president go over there and talk to me, you know,
00:53:30 --> 00:53:32 because things could get out of hand real quick over there.
00:53:34 --> 00:53:38 But anyway, man, that's a crazy story, man. That really is.
00:53:39 --> 00:53:45 I saw that a couple days ago and I was like, what the... I just said,
00:53:46 --> 00:53:50 so, but man, this is where we are.
00:53:50 --> 00:53:55 You know, there was another story that Leonard and I had talked about talking
00:53:55 --> 00:53:58 about it. That's even crazier than this story.
00:53:58 --> 00:54:02 You know, so we took the letter of the two stories.
00:54:02 --> 00:54:08 In fact, Dave, the other story might have to be on news and trends after dark. Yeah.
00:54:09 --> 00:54:15 Yeah, there you go. There you go. Yeah. Yeah. So, but yeah, it is what it is.
00:54:15 --> 00:54:17 This is the world we live in now.
00:54:18 --> 00:54:24 If you want to, you know, you know what's going on in Guinea.
00:54:24 --> 00:54:29 So, Guinea. so if you like that kind of party that's where you might want to
00:54:29 --> 00:54:35 be but if not stay far away from there far away from there so.
00:54:37 --> 00:54:44 And Dave tell them too if you're in a relationship don't do it don't go don't do it.
00:54:46 --> 00:54:52 Keep an eye on your significant other at all times if you do go you might want
00:54:52 --> 00:54:57 to put handcuffs on each other to make sure that y'all don't disappear from
00:54:57 --> 00:55:00 each other so yeah yeah so,
00:55:01 --> 00:55:05 All right. Oh, we got next Leonard.
00:55:06 --> 00:55:10 All right. So next we have, um, and Dave, this was highly demanded, you know,
00:55:10 --> 00:55:17 I mean, more, more people were asking for Leonard's corner than they were,
00:55:17 --> 00:55:21 um, trying to do early voting. I'm just saying that that's what I heard.
00:55:22 --> 00:55:29 But I have a question for you. And this is prompted by two things that I heard
00:55:29 --> 00:55:33 recently. So one, and I mean, we won't talk about it, but I'll just mention it.
00:55:34 --> 00:55:41 There was a man in Wilmington who was wrongfully convicted, and he ended up getting $3 million.
00:55:42 --> 00:55:48 He was in jail probably about 13 years, and I guess his wrongful conviction
00:55:48 --> 00:55:51 settlement was about $300.
00:55:51 --> 00:55:56 And then there was a rapper I saw and I'm going to see if I can bring up his name real quick,
00:55:58 --> 00:56:07 but he said that he would be willing to go to jail for 10 years in order to
00:56:07 --> 00:56:11 get Tony Yale who was part of G.U.
00:56:13 --> 00:56:18 Said he would do 10 years in jail for $100 million dollars.
00:56:19 --> 00:56:24 Now, I know we're not Donald Trump, so we don't have a fear of going to jail,
00:56:24 --> 00:56:25 at least not immediately.
00:56:26 --> 00:56:29 Donald Trump don't have a fear of going to jail. I know.
00:56:29 --> 00:56:37 But if you were going to jail or if you had to go to jail for one year,
00:56:37 --> 00:56:43 what is the least amount of money that you would willingly go to jail for?
00:56:43 --> 00:56:45 You cannot touch it till you get out so it's not
00:56:45 --> 00:56:48 like your family can benefit it you know
00:56:48 --> 00:56:51 once you do your year then you will
00:56:51 --> 00:56:54 get the money a million you'll do
00:56:54 --> 00:56:57 it for a million dollars you said the least amount yeah the
00:56:57 --> 00:57:00 least amount a million dollars is the least amount
00:57:00 --> 00:57:03 i would do it for more you said the least amount yeah
00:57:03 --> 00:57:06 no i i agree but now i'm just saying if someone gave you
00:57:06 --> 00:57:09 a million dollars like they packet your stuff you go
00:57:09 --> 00:57:11 tomorrow yeah okay well dave
00:57:11 --> 00:57:14 you know what it's funny you say because i let me
00:57:14 --> 00:57:17 let me check my bank account because you know i'm gonna have to send you
00:57:17 --> 00:57:20 send you to jail for a little bit yeah yeah
00:57:20 --> 00:57:28 yeah so you wouldn't do it it wouldn't be for a million dollars you know i i
00:57:28 --> 00:57:38 think if i was willingly to go for 365 days i would probably at least need five to ten million dollars.
00:57:40 --> 00:57:43 You're greedy yeah no i mean i probably am so
00:57:43 --> 00:57:46 i mean of course we want to bring up all the variations of
00:57:46 --> 00:57:50 okay what what type of jail you're going to yeah yeah
00:57:50 --> 00:57:53 yeah we didn't
00:57:53 --> 00:57:55 yeah you didn't say so yeah yeah i
00:57:55 --> 00:57:59 mean i i just feel like when i get out that year lost
00:57:59 --> 00:58:01 and you know man maybe it's different for me because you
00:58:01 --> 00:58:05 know i my kids are a little younger but yeah well
00:58:05 --> 00:58:08 you know you figured what big me just got out right
00:58:08 --> 00:58:11 recently and you know
00:58:11 --> 00:58:14 he spent all that time in jail now i wonder what kind of money he called
00:58:14 --> 00:58:17 me he came home to i wonder yeah i
00:58:17 --> 00:58:20 don't know i wonder if he had some stash yeah you
00:58:20 --> 00:58:23 know because you always think to yourself these guys gotta
00:58:23 --> 00:58:26 have money somewhere you know what i mean you know
00:58:26 --> 00:58:31 if they made all that money but then a lot of times that stuff gets confiscated
00:58:31 --> 00:58:37 you know and they freeze their accounts and all that stuff so i don't know but
00:58:37 --> 00:58:44 yeah it the way time moves these days leonard if i can go and i can get through without,
00:58:44 --> 00:58:48 without a whole bunch of craziness happen
00:58:48 --> 00:58:53 i think i can make it through for a year and a million dollars at my age i can
00:58:53 --> 00:58:58 live the rest of my life also well let me ask you you go to jail for one year
00:58:58 --> 00:59:04 what are some things you think you would do to try to stay sane i would read
00:59:04 --> 00:59:06 a lot probably and I'm not a reader.
00:59:07 --> 00:59:14 Listen to music. Probably they have a lot of groups, you know,
00:59:14 --> 00:59:16 therapy type groups and so forth. I would do that.
00:59:17 --> 00:59:23 You know, probably do it all to tell people do it with lift weights.
00:59:26 --> 00:59:34 Try to come out looking like Thor or somebody. You know, but yeah.
00:59:36 --> 00:59:41 Wouldn't do, I would hope that I wouldn't get hooked up with a Muslim and turn Muslim.
00:59:42 --> 00:59:50 And then I had to come out and preach to everybody. You know what I mean? Yeah. You'd be a David.
00:59:50 --> 00:59:53 I'll be David. You know.
00:59:54 --> 01:00:01 But yeah, I think I can get through all the things. I would try to keep my mind, you know, sharp.
01:00:03 --> 01:00:08 And, you know, i would probably mark it out on the wall kitchen every day if
01:00:08 --> 01:00:11 i if i you know that type of thing,
01:00:12 --> 01:00:15 okay i understood yeah i mean i think i do
01:00:15 --> 01:00:21 the same i definitely read i would definitely work out and i mean you know i
01:00:21 --> 01:00:25 don't know what my other options are but you know i would probably try to brainstorm
01:00:25 --> 01:00:30 a plan for just a better life when i get out you know whatever that looks like
01:00:30 --> 01:00:33 You know how now we talk about all the things we want to do,
01:00:33 --> 01:00:34 could have done, should have done.
01:00:35 --> 01:00:40 You know, I think probably getting out of jail, I think we recognize that time
01:00:40 --> 01:00:42 is valuable and make the best of it.
01:00:43 --> 01:00:47 That's right. Well, and I know I'll be doing a lot of praying to women,
01:00:47 --> 01:00:50 you know, praying for a section.
01:00:50 --> 01:00:56 So, you know, definitely, definitely, you know, I want to have.
01:00:58 --> 01:01:01 Yeah okay definitely want to have a feel
01:01:01 --> 01:01:04 a force field like the visible woman could put
01:01:04 --> 01:01:07 around herself was a fantastic for where i just want to
01:01:07 --> 01:01:13 have that thing around me at all times you know what i mean but yeah yeah definitely
01:01:13 --> 01:01:18 would do a lot of praying you know and and i didn't mean sound insensitive as
01:01:18 --> 01:01:25 in reference to being not becoming visible i'm just saying in reference to how every, you know,
01:01:25 --> 01:01:28 you always hear the stories that everybody comes with a limited deal,
01:01:28 --> 01:01:30 but that's why I was correct.
01:01:31 --> 01:01:34 Not that I have anything, just the actual reason.
01:01:35 --> 01:01:39 They clean it up, yeah. Yeah, well, I definitely have to do that.
01:01:40 --> 01:01:44 I thought about it afterwards. I said, well, let me make sure. Yeah, sure.
01:01:46 --> 01:01:51 But, yeah, but I'm not greedy as a limited, you know, but then he's younger than me.
01:01:52 --> 01:01:55 He could probably he probably needs it because he has small kids and everything.
01:01:56 --> 01:01:59 They're about to go to college. I'm in there.
01:02:00 --> 01:02:04 I know because you're not going to have no relief fund with Trump.
01:02:05 --> 01:02:07 You know that already, right? No.
01:02:09 --> 01:02:14 Don't send him to HBCU because you already know. He ain't going to care about them.
01:02:14 --> 01:02:18 Let's see if he ever steps foot on one of those campuses.
01:02:18 --> 01:02:21 Even though he was rumored to go to Howard. You know he was supposed to go to
01:02:21 --> 01:02:25 Howard. oh did he okay he was supposed to go to howard but he never made it
01:02:25 --> 01:02:29 there gotcha i think that was
01:02:29 --> 01:02:33 just to you know piss somebody else off you know what i mean yeah yeah no.
01:02:36 --> 01:02:41 Well, let's hope that neither one of us have to find out about what exactly we would do.
01:02:45 --> 01:02:51 All right, folks. Like I said in the very beginning, we are part of the MBG
01:02:51 --> 01:02:56 Podcast Network and is growing leaps and bounds every day.
01:02:56 --> 01:02:59 Leonard, what is the MBG Podcast Network? Yep.
01:03:00 --> 01:03:04 So basically it's a space where black creators can come together,
01:03:04 --> 01:03:10 podcast creators specifically, and kind of be part of a family all under one
01:03:10 --> 01:03:14 umbrella where we can, you know, market resources.
01:03:14 --> 01:03:18 And kind of like I say, when one grows, we all grow. When we all grow,
01:03:19 --> 01:03:21 you know, we get to where we want to be.
01:03:22 --> 01:03:25 So if anyone's interested, you can check out more information,
