Hosts Dave and Leonard, with guest host DJ TimDogg, recap a packed summer of community events — including Play Streets feeding thousands — and express concern about rising violence as fall begins.
The conversation shifts to national headlines after President Trump’s controversial comments about Los Angeles and San Diego, fears of political unrest, and the cultural debate around actors and work ethic. They also debate AI’s benefits and risks, data centers, job displacement, and privacy.
The episode closes with lighter moments: a Culture Check hip-hop quiz, shout-outs to guests, and birthday wishes for Leonard.

00:02:36 --> 00:02:40 When he's not so busy and everything, you know, he graces us with his presence.
00:02:40 --> 00:02:44 We got DJ Tim Dog on with us tonight. What's going on, sir?
00:02:45 --> 00:02:48 Hey, what's up, fellas? How y'all doing, man? It's been a minute.
00:02:48 --> 00:02:50 It's been a minute. Yeah, that's right. That's right.
00:02:51 --> 00:02:54 You know, like I said, you know, when you had the time to bless us with your
00:02:54 --> 00:02:58 presence, I mean, we know how busy you are. We know how busy you are. So you're the man.
00:02:59 --> 00:03:03 Come on, man. Y'all know, man, I've been nonstop this past summer doing all
00:03:03 --> 00:03:06 the community events and all the other events. But before we even get all that,
00:03:07 --> 00:03:11 early happy birthday to my man Leonard, getting ready to turn the big 5-0. Yes, thank you, sir.
00:03:11 --> 00:03:14 He about to be grown, folks, y'all. He about to be grown, folks.
00:03:15 --> 00:03:20 Hey, Tim, see, when I turned 15, I started dancing at the party. There you go.
00:03:20 --> 00:03:26 Well, you got to learn the 52-step, brother.
00:03:26 --> 00:03:31 Yeah, that's great. Well, we'll finally get you off the Similac,
00:03:31 --> 00:03:32 man. You know what I mean? Oh, there you go.
00:03:34 --> 00:03:38 Hey, Tim, I got a quick question for you because, you know.
00:03:38 --> 00:03:39 Here we go. Here we go. No, no,
00:03:39 --> 00:03:44 no, no, no. I'm not going to ask you about Imitation of Life again. Okay.
00:03:44 --> 00:03:50 But this summer, at least, you know, for our area, seemed extra busy to me.
00:03:51 --> 00:03:54 And I know you're out and about. You're probably at just about every event.
00:03:54 --> 00:03:59 Did this summer seem very active to you, just the amount of events and people doing things?
00:03:59 --> 00:04:03 You know, fellas and ladies and gentlemen that's listening to the show,
00:04:03 --> 00:04:05 and thank you all for tuning in to the show each and every week.
00:04:05 --> 00:04:07 I do my very best to turn it every week. I'm well, myself.
00:04:08 --> 00:04:13 But to answer your question, Leonard, yeah, this has been one very,
00:04:13 --> 00:04:20 very busy summer for not just events, but it was like everything around us.
00:04:20 --> 00:04:24 You know, I, for one, was involved with a lot of those events,
00:04:24 --> 00:04:28 a lot of community based events that I did for the city of Wilmington,
00:04:28 --> 00:04:30 the state of Delaware, various organizations.
00:04:31 --> 00:04:35 And I will say, honestly, that we did good this year.
00:04:35 --> 00:04:41 I mean, we did. You know, the community came together and we did some good things.
00:04:41 --> 00:04:46 We really did. Now, I can't, you know, speak for some of the violence that took
00:04:46 --> 00:04:49 place afterwards that we, you know, after the summer.
00:04:50 --> 00:04:57 But I will say if I had to grade myself and all the organizations that did all
00:04:57 --> 00:05:00 the summer events, you know, of course, with the biggest one I did,
00:05:00 --> 00:05:02 of course, was Play Streets with Mr.
00:05:02 --> 00:05:08 Ronald Dixon, the Rashima Dixon Foundation, where every Tuesday we were in different
00:05:08 --> 00:05:11 locations around the city and did like a pop-up block party.
00:05:12 --> 00:05:15 And we did what we call a debrief.
00:05:16 --> 00:05:22 And we found out that we fed nearly 3 kids from June 30th all the way to
00:05:22 --> 00:05:27 August 29th, August 26th, when we concluded the event in Rodney Square.
00:05:28 --> 00:05:31 Of course, we partnered with, you know, part of the city's Wilmington Parks
00:05:31 --> 00:05:34 and Recreation. And shout out to Dr. Phillips and the whole crew over there
00:05:34 --> 00:05:37 for the amazing work they did with us, helping us out.
00:05:38 --> 00:05:42 But you know i was able to stand on that stage and i think dave me you talked
00:05:42 --> 00:05:46 about that well i actually stood on the stage and i just looked around and i
00:05:46 --> 00:05:53 was like wow we put a thousand people in rodney square on a tuesday night and we fed,
00:05:53 --> 00:06:00 everybody like everybody no one walked away without something to eat you know
00:06:00 --> 00:06:04 so you know i thank the food Bank of Delaware for being there with us.
00:06:04 --> 00:06:06 I think Chick-fil-A for partnering with us.
00:06:07 --> 00:06:09 Wawa partnering with us.
00:06:10 --> 00:06:14 We did good. We did good this year. You know? Gotcha.
00:06:14 --> 00:06:17 Well, I think you kind of answered it. I was going to say that you have a favorite
00:06:17 --> 00:06:19 event, but it sounds like Play Street might have been one of your...
00:06:20 --> 00:06:23 Was that one of your favorite? Well, that was the one that was closest to my
00:06:23 --> 00:06:27 heart because of the late Washeema Dixon. God rest her soul.
00:06:28 --> 00:06:32 I remember when Rashima started Play Streets back in 2016.
00:06:32 --> 00:06:36 And I remember her vision of what she wanted it to be.
00:06:36 --> 00:06:41 And when she passed away, you know, untimely, when she passed away,
00:06:42 --> 00:06:47 me and her father, Mr. Dixon, we talked about extending his daughter's legacy.
00:06:47 --> 00:06:49 And me and Mr. Dixon, we got so much in common.
00:06:50 --> 00:06:53 You know, we lost our daughters within like eight months of each other.
00:06:54 --> 00:07:01 Come to find out, my daughter Tiana, who I affectionately know as Twinkle Toes on social media,
00:07:01 --> 00:07:08 taught Rashima and Logan Herring, who was the director of Kingswood Community
00:07:08 --> 00:07:13 Center, when they had the Dancing with the Stars, the very first one, the inaugural ball,
00:07:14 --> 00:07:18 my daughter Tiana taught Rashima and Logan, and they won.
00:07:19 --> 00:07:24 They won. So I told Tiana, you know, don't tell Logan and Rashima that,
00:07:24 --> 00:07:26 you know, my daughter, because, you know, my shadow looms large,
00:07:26 --> 00:07:29 but I want you to do this on your own. Right. And they won.
00:07:30 --> 00:07:33 And so when Rashima found out that Tiana was my daughter, she's like,
00:07:33 --> 00:07:38 oh, my God. I'm like, yeah. So me and Mr. Dixon, we have we got so much in common.
00:07:39 --> 00:07:44 I told her we are connected to the hip from these girls, you know, from both of our girls.
00:07:45 --> 00:07:50 So to continue with her legacy and Play Streets and everything that we're doing,
00:07:51 --> 00:07:53 for the city is a good feeling.
00:07:53 --> 00:07:56 It really is a good feeling. We're extending, and I'm letting everybody know
00:07:56 --> 00:08:02 that now, we're going to be extending Play Streets for 2027 next summer for
00:08:02 --> 00:08:05 areas of the city that we aren't able to reach this past summer.
00:08:06 --> 00:08:10 We did hear it. We did hear it. We heard it. I heard, you know,
00:08:10 --> 00:08:13 communities like, tell them, y'all not coming over here, y'all not coming over here.
00:08:14 --> 00:08:19 So with the extra funding that we are receiving from the foundation,
00:08:20 --> 00:08:26 we're going to be able to expand next year's Play Streets. So I'm excited about that.
00:08:27 --> 00:08:30 And then ask for all the other events that was going on. I mean,
00:08:30 --> 00:08:33 it was a virtual who's who that came to the city of Wilmington this year. Oh, yeah.
00:08:34 --> 00:08:37 It was, you had just recently, Ray J was here, just recently.
00:08:37 --> 00:08:39 Oh, uh-huh. Funkmaster Flex was here.
00:08:40 --> 00:08:43 Beanie Siegel was here earlier this year. Big Daddy Kane was here.
00:08:44 --> 00:08:51 Chabrock was here. The list goes on and on of all the celebrities and big events
00:08:51 --> 00:08:54 that happened. And they all happened right at Docklands on the roof. Yeah.
00:08:56 --> 00:09:00 You know, so that happened to be the go-to place for the summertime.
00:09:01 --> 00:09:05 But a lot of those events were really, really nice. No drama.
00:09:05 --> 00:09:11 Thank God, like no drama at all. You know, I did some events for the line dance
00:09:11 --> 00:09:13 community. Shout out Miss Johnny and Delaware Finals line dance crew.
00:09:14 --> 00:09:15 They hung out with me all summer long.
00:09:16 --> 00:09:21 You know, we were outside. We had a ball, had a great time. But it was the energy.
00:09:21 --> 00:09:25 It was always a positive vibe. Like everybody came out and just had fun.
00:09:26 --> 00:09:30 You know, there was no, no drama at all. You know, the drama started,
00:09:30 --> 00:09:33 unfortunately, I hate to say it, right when school started.
00:09:34 --> 00:09:37 You know, right when school started is when the drama started.
00:09:37 --> 00:09:40 We had, we had like, like multiple shootings.
00:09:41 --> 00:09:44 You know, so we were still trying to figure like, what happened?
00:09:44 --> 00:09:47 Like, it was all love during the summertime and all of a sudden,
00:09:48 --> 00:09:50 you know, something just happened. So.
00:09:52 --> 00:09:55 We're trying to implant, we're trying to implant. do you kind of feel like when
00:09:55 --> 00:09:59 the events started kind of the events for the community started slowing down
00:09:59 --> 00:10:03 then like do you think that might have been a correlation or you think it was just,
00:10:03 --> 00:10:07 i i think that was a correlation honestly i really do i've had some i've had
00:10:07 --> 00:10:14 some some meetings with various members of the community various organizations some churches.
00:10:14 --> 00:10:18 Because they look at me as not just DJ Tim Dog, but they're like,
00:10:18 --> 00:10:21 yo, this cat is really in the community. He's not just DJing.
00:10:21 --> 00:10:25 He's in the community. He's feeding people. He's helping the homeless.
00:10:25 --> 00:10:31 He's doing this. He's doing that. So let's get his input on what we can do to
00:10:31 --> 00:10:33 try to curve some of this.
00:10:34 --> 00:10:38 And I told him, I'm like, you guys have to keep these kids busy.
00:10:39 --> 00:10:42 You have to. You have to keep them busy because if you don't,
00:10:42 --> 00:10:46 what's going to happen is what you're seeing what's happening in the city.
00:10:46 --> 00:10:50 You know, if they don't have anything to do, they're going to find something
00:10:50 --> 00:10:51 to do. It ain't going to be pretty.
00:10:52 --> 00:10:55 You know, it ain't going to be pretty. So, and then, of course,
00:10:55 --> 00:10:58 everybody says the same thing. Money. I get it.
00:10:59 --> 00:11:02 I get it. You know, when we were coming up, and Dave can attest to this,
00:11:02 --> 00:11:07 when we were coming up, we had some youth programs that extended to the fall.
00:11:08 --> 00:11:12 Like we could go to the Y and we could swim and play basketball we go into the
00:11:12 --> 00:11:15 neighbor house we live in the south bridge play basketball until like hey street
00:11:15 --> 00:11:20 light came on you went home you know now those programs are gone like i was
00:11:20 --> 00:11:22 over at hicks one evening,
00:11:22 --> 00:11:27 and instead of the kids playing basketball they all just just sitting in the
00:11:27 --> 00:11:32 bleachers on their phones i'm like yo it's a big basketball court here y'all
00:11:32 --> 00:11:33 don't want to play ball or something,
00:11:34 --> 00:11:37 right on their phones you know And that's how, unfortunately,
00:11:37 --> 00:11:40 some of these incidents take place.
00:11:40 --> 00:11:43 It starts from their phones, social media.
00:11:44 --> 00:11:47 Whatever, how did Rich Roll call it?
00:11:48 --> 00:11:55 It's a special, it's a form of rap music that he called it. Because Rich Roll,
00:11:55 --> 00:11:59 shout out to Rich Roll by the way, he works with the school, so kids.
00:12:01 --> 00:12:07 He gets all the intel from these kids. And it's a form of rap that they talk
00:12:07 --> 00:12:13 about whereas they're rapping about what they're going to do to you.
00:12:13 --> 00:12:19 Or, you know, you might have said something to somebody in their crew or clique
00:12:19 --> 00:12:23 or whatever the case may be. So now you got to beef with the entire crew. Gotcha.
00:12:25 --> 00:12:28 You know, and it's crazy, but it's all through the music. Unfortunately,
00:12:28 --> 00:12:29 it's all through the music.
00:12:31 --> 00:12:32 Well, I'll tell you.
00:12:35 --> 00:12:40 There was a lot that went on this summer, and Tim mentioned a lot of stuff.
00:12:41 --> 00:12:47 Then we got to remember the concerts in the parks that was going on.
00:12:47 --> 00:12:54 They had concerts going on every week, and different bands and so forth, and live music.
00:12:56 --> 00:13:03 And Leonard, I do agree. It was an action-packed summer. It was really busy.
00:13:04 --> 00:13:09 You and I, every time we would talk, you know, something was going on.
00:13:09 --> 00:13:13 And, of course, you know, yeah, August quarterly and so forth.
00:13:13 --> 00:13:17 And that was another big event that happened. And, you know,
00:13:17 --> 00:13:19 so there was a lot going on.
00:13:19 --> 00:13:23 And so I'm just glad that they were able to do that this summer.
00:13:23 --> 00:13:28 Now, of course, now we get ready to go into fall. And, you know,
00:13:28 --> 00:13:31 I guess this will be our last day, like saving time, you know,
00:13:31 --> 00:13:37 supposedly. And so that'd be the time, the clock would be changing in the next three weeks or so.
00:13:37 --> 00:13:44 So let's see what happens as we try to get through fall and winter and see what happens.
00:13:44 --> 00:13:48 So hopefully they'll have some indoor things, you know, that will be just,
00:13:49 --> 00:13:54 it's nice to keep people busy as well, you know, so. But,
00:13:56 --> 00:14:00 all right, we got all of that out. So let's get into some topics right quick.
00:14:00 --> 00:14:03 Yeah, man. Yeah, it's been a minute since I had a chance to sit down and chit-chat.
00:14:04 --> 00:14:05 Yeah, I know. I know. I know. I know.
00:14:06 --> 00:14:09 So, and this is what we do, folks, when we get together.
00:14:11 --> 00:14:16 And actually, I know you and I kind of touched on this a little earlier too,
00:14:16 --> 00:14:18 Tim, but I wanted to talk about the story.
00:14:18 --> 00:14:24 Trump suggests Iran could take out Los Angeles or San Diego.
00:14:26 --> 00:14:30 Did you hear about this later, by the way? No, for the first time hearing about
00:14:30 --> 00:14:32 it. Okay, listen to this.
00:14:34 --> 00:14:39 Leaders in California have denounced Donald Trump as reckless and deranged after.
00:14:48 --> 00:14:53 The U.S. president suggested Iran could take out Los Angeles and San Diego,
00:14:53 --> 00:14:55 two liberal cities in the blue state.
00:14:56 --> 00:15:00 That has been a frequent target of his administration.
00:15:00 --> 00:15:06 At a rally in Nebraska, which is ruby red, of course.
00:15:07 --> 00:15:12 On Monday night, Trump told supporters that he hoped to see a tremendous victory
00:15:12 --> 00:15:15 in the fast-approaching November midterm elections.
00:15:16 --> 00:15:23 He then suggested high prices due to the war with Iran were a small price to
00:15:23 --> 00:15:25 pay for keeping the world safe.
00:15:26 --> 00:15:32 They could take out a city, Trump said in a Grand Island. Let them stand out.
00:15:33 --> 00:15:38 I'm sorry. Let them take out Los Angeles. Let them take out San Diego.
00:15:39 --> 00:15:43 The crowd applauded. It'll be over very soon, Trump said of the war.
00:15:44 --> 00:15:49 The governor and the city's mayors quickly condemned the comments.
00:15:49 --> 00:15:53 After sending the National Guard and Marines to occupy California,
00:15:53 --> 00:16:01 Donald Trump is now saying our foreign enemies should take out Los Angeles and San Diego.
00:16:02 --> 00:16:09 California Governor Gavin Newsom said on X, he is deranged and dangerous.
00:16:10 --> 00:16:17 Newsom, a Democrat who has repeatedly classed with Trump over his two terms,
00:16:17 --> 00:16:20 said from his press office account, let's be clear.
00:16:21 --> 00:16:28 The president is advocating for an attack on a 10-plus million U.S.
00:16:28 --> 00:16:32 Residents in two of America's largest cities.
00:16:33 --> 00:16:39 This is not normal. None of this is. and we will continue to remind folks of that every day.
00:16:40 --> 00:16:43 Karen Bass, the mayor of Los Angeles.
00:16:45 --> 00:16:50 I sell the president for making what she called irresponsible threats that could
00:16:50 --> 00:16:55 potentially compromise the safety of America's second largest city.
00:16:56 --> 00:17:04 The role of a president is to protect the country, not to actively threaten
00:17:04 --> 00:17:07 it and encourage attacks on American lives.
00:17:08 --> 00:17:11 She said in a statement, And Todd Gloria, the mayor of San Diego,
00:17:12 --> 00:17:15 said his city was not collateral damage.
00:17:15 --> 00:17:24 In the president's war, we are not expendable, and we are never a small price to pay, he wrote on X.
00:17:25 --> 00:17:28 Keep our cities out of your reckless war talk, he said.
00:17:30 --> 00:17:35 All right. It gave me flashbacks of Will Smith. Yeah, yeah, I know.
00:17:35 --> 00:17:37 How about that? How about that?
00:17:37 --> 00:17:40 Now, here's the thing about this letter, since I know since you said he didn't
00:17:40 --> 00:17:48 hear it, he also stated after he said that, he said, it's a small price to pay.
00:17:48 --> 00:17:51 Then he says, but your gas prices are going to go down.
00:17:52 --> 00:17:56 Yeah. Oh, yeah. He did talk about that. Now, when he said it,
00:17:57 --> 00:18:00 like I said, he said it last night, this little rally, you know,
00:18:00 --> 00:18:02 the people behind him are cheering.
00:18:03 --> 00:18:08 Now, I'm pretty sure that you two gentlemen have Trump supporters that listen
00:18:08 --> 00:18:09 to the show, which is fine.
00:18:10 --> 00:18:14 Maybe, maybe. Maybe, maybe. You know, I'm just saying, if you do,
00:18:14 --> 00:18:16 that's cool. You know, every two weeks is on.
00:18:17 --> 00:18:26 However, however, his words yesterday were reckless, endangering, not funny.
00:18:27 --> 00:18:30 He wasn't just kidding because, you know, most of his bag of support is going
00:18:30 --> 00:18:31 to say, oh, he was just kidding. No.
00:18:33 --> 00:18:40 You just said in front of all your supporters who cheered on what you said that
00:18:40 --> 00:18:44 you would allow a foreign country to,
00:18:45 --> 00:18:52 bomb or whatever two of America's biggest cities in a state that's a blue state,
00:18:53 --> 00:18:56 okay, that's ran by two Democratic mayors.
00:18:57 --> 00:19:03 Democratic Mayor of San Diego Democratic Mayor of Los Angeles Gavin Newsom Democratic
00:19:03 --> 00:19:06 who may be running against him For the presidency,
00:19:07 --> 00:19:13 If Congress I'm sorry and I gotta say this Congress is spineless They really
00:19:13 --> 00:19:18 are And I understand politics I understand politics one on one I get it,
00:19:20 --> 00:19:25 Congress is ran by Republicans His party they're going to basically do whatever
00:19:25 --> 00:19:28 he wants them to do because they're in charge.
00:19:29 --> 00:19:34 For those who follow politics and know how it goes, they got an election coming
00:19:34 --> 00:19:36 up in less than one month from today. One month from today.
00:19:37 --> 00:19:44 If they happen to flip Congress, the first thing Congress is going to do is
00:19:44 --> 00:19:45 Article 26. They're going to
00:19:45 --> 00:19:48 go after it. They're going to do their very best to get him out of here.
00:19:49 --> 00:19:55 I read on social media today, someone said, and I probably, I don't have it,
00:19:57 --> 00:20:02 verbatim, but someone said, if the Democrats do manage to win Congress,
00:20:03 --> 00:20:06 he is going to invoke the Insurrection Act,
00:20:07 --> 00:20:12 send out ISIS, go to every state that voted blue, voted for blue,
00:20:12 --> 00:20:19 it was rated voted blue say voter fraud hold it all up with countless,
00:20:20 --> 00:20:26 reckless lawsuits and so forth and so on and then come January when it's time
00:20:26 --> 00:20:29 for them people to come over it's going to be repeated January 6th all over again,
00:20:31 --> 00:20:36 Yeah, I believe it. I believe it. I'm sorry. I hate to say it, but I believe it.
00:20:36 --> 00:20:39 There's a movie. I think the last time we was on the show, we talked about,
00:20:40 --> 00:20:43 it was a movie called Civil War. I don't know, ladies and gentlemen, if you've ever seen it.
00:20:44 --> 00:20:48 It might still be on HBO Max, but me and my wife, we watched it.
00:20:48 --> 00:20:50 Civil War basically was a what if.
00:20:51 --> 00:20:56 What if a president who got in office and didn't want to leave.
00:20:57 --> 00:21:00 Third time, it caused a civil war within the United States of America.
00:21:00 --> 00:21:03 Because split the United States right down the middle.
00:21:04 --> 00:21:11 One of the three states that fought against him was California, Texas, and Florida.
00:21:11 --> 00:21:14 Those three states. Now, mind you, Florida is a Republican state.
00:21:15 --> 00:21:19 Right. So is Texas. Right, right. But they flipped these two states.
00:21:20 --> 00:21:25 And what he ended up doing was he created, like, Washington, D.C., was a stronghold.
00:21:27 --> 00:21:31 Like, you couldn't get in D.C. That was it. and the country was on a free fall.
00:21:31 --> 00:21:37 It was a civil war. It was everybody who supported the president and everybody who didn't.
00:21:37 --> 00:21:43 And the premise of the movie was two reporters had got.
00:21:45 --> 00:21:48 A special interview with him, but he told him, the only way you're going to
00:21:48 --> 00:21:52 interview me is you got to get down here because I'm not coming to you. You got to come to me.
00:21:53 --> 00:21:56 So they came from Pittsburgh all the way and on the route, on the way there,
00:21:58 --> 00:21:59 things happen on the way there.
00:21:59 --> 00:22:03 But the climax of the movie was them getting there and what had happened.
00:22:03 --> 00:22:06 And I'm thinking to myself, me and my wife, we was watching it.
00:22:06 --> 00:22:09 I said to myself, this is too much real.
00:22:09 --> 00:22:14 This is too real. It's too real. And that's basically what's happening right
00:22:14 --> 00:22:18 now, ladies and gentlemen. This man just basically said Iran could take out,
00:22:19 --> 00:22:22 two West Coast cities, Los Angeles and San Diego.
00:22:23 --> 00:22:26 He said it's a price to pay in war, but in the same breath said,
00:22:26 --> 00:22:29 but your gas prices are going to go down. Right.
00:22:29 --> 00:22:33 Well, keep in mind also, too, when 9-11 hit,
00:22:35 --> 00:22:39 You know, they were planning on, there was a plane that was supposed to go to Los Angeles.
00:22:39 --> 00:22:45 Yeah, that's true. Yeah, you know, and then recently, you know,
00:22:45 --> 00:22:51 they just had the situation with the pilot that got stabbed in the cockpit. Yes.
00:22:52 --> 00:22:56 And they were trying, that was a terrorist, that was a terrorist attack too.
00:22:56 --> 00:23:01 And they were trying to get that plane to go to, what was it, Iran?
00:23:02 --> 00:23:09 I think he was going to Iraq. Iraq, you know, and they were going to have it crash there in Iraq.
00:23:09 --> 00:23:16 So, you know, so this, you know, for him to even say something like that is, is just makes no sense.
00:23:16 --> 00:23:21 And the fact that he's able to do and say the things that he's been able to
00:23:21 --> 00:23:27 do and he makes money off of every one of these things that he does.
00:23:28 --> 00:23:32 Yeah. Yes, he does. He makes money off of every one of these things.
00:23:33 --> 00:23:39 You know, and it's, you know, it's just amazing to me that one man can have
00:23:39 --> 00:23:42 all of this power and nobody wants to stop him.
00:23:43 --> 00:23:45 All right, Kanye. Yeah, well. Yeah.
00:23:48 --> 00:23:52 But you know what's mirroring this whole situation as well?
00:23:52 --> 00:23:56 And it's in a lesser degree, and this is not going to be a popular opinion when
00:23:56 --> 00:24:05 I say this, but we had the same thing going on in the WNBA with Caitlin Clark. Yes.
00:24:05 --> 00:24:15 And all that's going on around her and how these people are just drinking the
00:24:15 --> 00:24:18 Kool-Aid on everything that she does.
00:24:19 --> 00:24:25 They don't find any fault with anything that she does. Everybody else around her is messing her up.
00:24:26 --> 00:24:32 You know, she has a teammate, Kelsey Mitchell, who just came out on her exit
00:24:32 --> 00:24:37 interview after they lost in the first round of the playoffs and just came out
00:24:37 --> 00:24:38 and said, now she's a free agent.
00:24:39 --> 00:24:44 Kelsey Mitchell was the second leading scorer in the league this year and was
00:24:44 --> 00:24:50 going to be one of the top five players who had a shot at the MVP.
00:24:50 --> 00:24:54 Of course, Angel Wilson was the one who was named MVP.
00:24:55 --> 00:25:03 But she said in her exit interview and this is reminiscent of just what's going on with trump as well,
00:25:04 --> 00:25:11 it's so hard to be caitlin's teammate you guys don't understand what it takes,
00:25:12 --> 00:25:17 to play with her and to be her teammate if i showed you my dms,
00:25:19 --> 00:25:20 you guys would be.
00:25:22 --> 00:25:28 Shocked, appalled, and flabbergasted at the stuff that we get as her teammates
00:25:29 --> 00:25:32 if we lose a game because we get blamed for it,
00:25:33 --> 00:25:37 or we're not doing enough to help her. I've gotten death threats.
00:25:38 --> 00:25:44 I've gotten called all types of names. I mean, it's just amazing.
00:25:44 --> 00:25:50 And this is the same type of stuff that's going on with the president because he has such a strong call.
00:25:51 --> 00:25:55 On the people that support him. You know,
00:25:56 --> 00:26:02 the fact that we had January 6th happen because he was the president of the
00:26:02 --> 00:26:07 United States, and he said, even though he said he didn't say to do it,
00:26:08 --> 00:26:09 but he had those people do that, right?
00:26:10 --> 00:26:15 And then wanted to exonerate every last one of them that went to jail.
00:26:15 --> 00:26:19 Well, actually, he did. I know, but I'm just saying.
00:26:19 --> 00:26:21 And he gave them all the jobs. I know, but what I'm saying is,
00:26:22 --> 00:26:26 But the fact that he wanted to do it and, you know, because,
00:26:26 --> 00:26:31 you know, I mean, if they were all black, they'd still be sitting in jail. Amen.
00:26:32 --> 00:26:36 So, but anyway, we can talk about this all day. Well, hey, Dave,
00:26:36 --> 00:26:39 I want to piggyback something off something Tim said when he was talking about
00:26:39 --> 00:26:41 that Civil War. I thought it was really interesting.
00:26:42 --> 00:26:45 But, you know, it's kind of like we hear it all the time. And I don't know if
00:26:45 --> 00:26:50 we're just numb to it or maybe we're used to certain people being a certain way.
00:26:50 --> 00:26:55 But, you know, they have a lot of underground videos of these white nationalists
00:26:55 --> 00:26:58 training, like training, training, like they in the army.
00:26:59 --> 00:27:04 And I'm wondering, are we doing everything we need to be doing?
00:27:04 --> 00:27:08 Because, you know, some of these people are very serious about taking out the
00:27:08 --> 00:27:11 black colored Latino race.
00:27:11 --> 00:27:19 And, you know, unfortunately, I don't know if we are as serious about it, which is crazy.
00:27:22 --> 00:27:26 I'm not one to condone the violence and everything.
00:27:28 --> 00:27:38 But I do think that we as African-Americans should prepare because if civil
00:27:38 --> 00:27:40 war does break out in this country,
00:27:41 --> 00:27:45 they're coming after us because he basically gave them the green like do it now.
00:27:45 --> 00:27:48 They just don't have, they like it.
00:27:48 --> 00:27:51 You know how, I know y'all watch track and field.
00:27:51 --> 00:27:54 So you know how it is when they get to the starting gate, the starting gate.
00:27:55 --> 00:28:02 So when they say ready set are they waiting for that gun to go off that movie as,
00:28:03 --> 00:28:09 realistic as it was had me thinking like if this does break out,
00:28:10 --> 00:28:13 you know they're going to be coming after us and because there's a scene in
00:28:13 --> 00:28:16 the movie if you ever get a chance to see it Leonard there's a scene in the
00:28:16 --> 00:28:23 movie that shook me down to my core like it was there's one scene and I was like whoa,
00:28:24 --> 00:28:30 that's real you know that's real and I'm like when the movie went on I'm looking at my wife like.
00:28:32 --> 00:28:39 There it is there it is this dude and this dude who was playing president basically,
00:28:39 --> 00:28:41 acted like the current guy that's playing president,
00:28:42 --> 00:28:46 had the same mannerisms as the guy that's currently playing president I'm like
00:28:46 --> 00:28:47 thinking to myself this dude,
00:28:48 --> 00:28:51 didn't want to leave like I'm not going anywhere you can't make,
00:28:52 --> 00:28:55 you know They're like, I'm not going anywhere. You can't make...
00:28:56 --> 00:29:00 So, should we be prepared for that? Yeah.
00:29:00 --> 00:29:06 Yeah. I mean, I'm not saying we should be armed to the T. You know?
00:29:07 --> 00:29:08 But there are,
00:29:09 --> 00:29:16 other people out there that's preparing themselves for civil war if it if it if it does happen,
00:29:17 --> 00:29:20 you know it's funny because my wife and i always talk about well if something happens,
00:29:21 --> 00:29:24 do we go to the campground do we stay away from the you know it's kind of like
00:29:24 --> 00:29:29 you don't at least having conversations of okay if something breaks out that's
00:29:29 --> 00:29:34 a little wild where do we go like do we just barricade up at our house,
00:29:35 --> 00:29:41 Yeah. I mean, you, these are questions. It's like the two questions that a lot
00:29:41 --> 00:29:44 of people don't want to talk about, of course, is when you're getting ready
00:29:44 --> 00:29:47 to transition and, you know, you, people don't want to talk about that.
00:29:47 --> 00:29:49 I don't want to talk about, you know, me and my wife talk about all the time.
00:29:49 --> 00:29:50 Me and my life is short. I don't want to talk about that.
00:29:53 --> 00:29:57 But and it's the other question like okay if civil war breaks out in this country,
00:29:59 --> 00:30:00 what are you going to do right,
00:30:01 --> 00:30:06 you know what are you going to do like what are you going to do and that movie
00:30:06 --> 00:30:10 ladies and gentlemen if you've never seen it I strongly suggest you take a look
00:30:10 --> 00:30:14 at it because I'm telling you and look at it with an open mind,
00:30:15 --> 00:30:18 you know and when I watched it I mean I sat there and I watched it with an open
00:30:18 --> 00:30:22 mind I was like whoa this is too real,
00:30:23 --> 00:30:27 like it mirror images what's happening in the world today well.
00:30:30 --> 00:30:35 I think that there'll be plenty of places for them to go,
00:30:37 --> 00:30:40 I kind of get the impression we
00:30:40 --> 00:30:46 would have to go underground it'd be I am legend type situation where we.
00:30:48 --> 00:30:52 You know what I'm saying That's what it would be like for us, you know.
00:30:53 --> 00:30:59 I just hope that it doesn't come to that and that they do something about the person in D.C.
00:31:00 --> 00:31:08 And, you know, because first of all, for him to try to set himself up to get
00:31:08 --> 00:31:12 a third term, you know, right now, you know, early voting is going on in like
00:31:12 --> 00:31:15 23 states, if I'm not mistaken,
00:31:16 --> 00:31:18 you know, for the general election.
00:31:19 --> 00:31:21 A lot of them are real states, though.
00:31:22 --> 00:31:29 And, you know, we need we need to make sure that people turn out and do the
00:31:29 --> 00:31:34 voting that they need to do in order to get these people out of this office.
00:31:34 --> 00:31:40 But but but also we need somebody strong to step up. I mean,
00:31:40 --> 00:31:46 if it's going to be Kamala for the next or the run for president again,
00:31:46 --> 00:31:49 then then people have to get behind her.
00:31:50 --> 00:31:54 If they got somebody else to put up there, you know, I mean,
00:31:54 --> 00:31:59 I'm a big Cory Booker fan, but they would never let that happen.
00:32:01 --> 00:32:08 You know, and I just, you know, we just need to do everything we can to pay attention.
00:32:09 --> 00:32:13 And, you know, there's so many things I want to say, but I'm not going to say.
00:32:13 --> 00:32:19 I'm going to get it that way as your special guest as your special guest I'm
00:32:19 --> 00:32:21 going to say I'm going to go this far with it.
00:32:23 --> 00:32:27 Gavin Newsom who has been a thorn in his man's side since day one,
00:32:29 --> 00:32:35 the Democrats want him to run for president, they do I think if Gavin Newsom,
00:32:35 --> 00:32:43 would run I think he would actually win, but the only way Gavin Newsom is going to win this thing is,
00:32:44 --> 00:32:46 he's got to start like now.
00:32:46 --> 00:32:51 Because if you look back, ladies and gentlemen, after Biden,
00:32:51 --> 00:32:53 you know, after Biden's four years,
00:32:54 --> 00:33:02 in 2021 is when the current guy started campaigning for president.
00:33:02 --> 00:33:06 Who campaigns for three years for that office?
00:33:06 --> 00:33:12 Well, people who are buying votes and setting up so that he's in the office.
00:33:12 --> 00:33:16 You know what I'm saying? So if Gavin Newsom, whom I, you know,
00:33:16 --> 00:33:21 I really respect Gavin Newsom, you know, I respect his morals and.
00:33:22 --> 00:33:25 I look at how he's running California. He's doing the best he can of what he's got.
00:33:26 --> 00:33:31 You know, I think Gavin Newsom would be the perfect person to run against him
00:33:31 --> 00:33:35 because he don't like dude and dude don't like him.
00:33:36 --> 00:33:39 One thing Gavin Newsom is that he's not scared of him. Right.
00:33:40 --> 00:33:43 He's not scared of him. Gavin Newsom, he'll go toe-to-toe with him.
00:33:44 --> 00:33:47 The only other person that goes toe-to-toe with him is Cuomo.
00:33:49 --> 00:33:55 What's Cuomo? Okay. Well, I guess we will see, because something's got to be done.
00:33:55 --> 00:34:01 I mean, you just can't go around making statements like this and think that
00:34:01 --> 00:34:03 it's okay. It just makes no sense.
00:34:03 --> 00:34:07 Because we know what would happen if Obama had said anything close to this.
00:34:08 --> 00:34:13 But first of all, you know, you're going to tour up the White House.
00:34:13 --> 00:34:17 You know, you keep coming up with all these ideals that you can't seem to get right.
00:34:18 --> 00:34:24 And I just know that this tells you how it's a double standard still it's a
00:34:24 --> 00:34:30 double standard for everything you know but we're going to move on because we
00:34:30 --> 00:34:32 could talk about this all night long so,
00:34:35 --> 00:34:41 I wanted to have a little discussion since this is the hot topic right now there's
00:34:41 --> 00:34:46 even court cases going on right now about AI high.
00:34:47 --> 00:34:56 And I wanted to have a round, you know, a quick roundtable discussion with you two in reference to AI.
00:34:57 --> 00:35:03 Where we are with it now, how it's affecting everybody at this point.
00:35:03 --> 00:35:08 And give me the pros and cons of AI.
00:35:08 --> 00:35:13 So I wanted to read a few of these pros and I'm proud to read a few of the pros
00:35:13 --> 00:35:19 and then read a few cons. And then let's just have a conversation of where we think this is going.
00:35:20 --> 00:35:26 And are we in a good place or are we going to be, find ourselves in a bad place
00:35:26 --> 00:35:27 with all that's going on?
00:35:28 --> 00:35:34 So I have the pros as enhanced efficiency and productivity.
00:35:34 --> 00:35:41 And just making a reference to AI automates repetitive and routine administrative
00:35:41 --> 00:35:45 tasks, allowing systems to operate 24-7 without fatigue.
00:35:45 --> 00:35:50 Advanced data analysis. Of course, we know that it does that.
00:35:50 --> 00:35:54 It can break down things in a matter of moments, you know, from health care
00:35:54 --> 00:36:00 to law to anything that you financially, it can do anything you need it to do.
00:36:01 --> 00:36:07 Personalization and accessibility. AI powers adaptive learning platforms tailored
00:36:07 --> 00:36:13 customer experiences and assisted tools for people with disabilities.
00:36:13 --> 00:36:15 So it helps with a number of things.
00:36:15 --> 00:36:23 Air reduction in high risk fields, the automation safety controls and all of
00:36:23 --> 00:36:29 those types of things that gives you kind of gives you kind of high risk.
00:36:30 --> 00:36:34 I can't even take a word I want to say. It kind of gives you a...
00:36:34 --> 00:36:37 I know, that's what I'm saying. I'm still on the Trump thing.
00:36:38 --> 00:36:42 You know, it kind of gives you a hypothesis on, you know.
00:36:44 --> 00:36:47 The answers and the things that you're trying to do based on the algorithms,
00:36:49 --> 00:36:54 and reduces human errors and hazardous or high-stakes environments.
00:36:55 --> 00:37:00 Those are the pros. Now, there are cons as well because it seems like with everything
00:37:00 --> 00:37:04 great that AI does comes the cons that it also does.
00:37:05 --> 00:37:11 One of the biggest things is job displacement and economic disruption.
00:37:11 --> 00:37:17 Automation affects cognitive and routine roles leading to workforce restructuring,
00:37:18 --> 00:37:21 economic pressure on content creators.
00:37:21 --> 00:37:27 And then is the algorithmic bias and discrimination. AI systems inherit and
00:37:27 --> 00:37:33 amplify flaws from the training data, creating unfair outcomes in surveillance,
00:37:33 --> 00:37:35 hiring, and evaluations.
00:37:36 --> 00:37:41 Of course, you have privacy and security risks with AI because,
00:37:41 --> 00:37:46 after all, it's gathering information from everywhere, even files that you don't
00:37:46 --> 00:37:48 want it to gather information from.
00:37:48 --> 00:37:53 So, of course, it could create defects, you know, likeness.
00:37:53 --> 00:37:58 And when it comes to likeness and, you know, as far as creating a whole spreadsheet
00:37:58 --> 00:38:04 about you that may, you know, that they, you know what I mean?
00:38:04 --> 00:38:07 And it's not, you know, but it's going to be believable enough that people's
00:38:07 --> 00:38:10 going to think this is you. You know what I mean? Yeah. Yeah.
00:38:11 --> 00:38:18 Loss of critical thinking and authenticity. It says over-reliance on automated,
00:38:19 --> 00:38:23 outputs can dull human decision-making, which we know is already happening.
00:38:23 --> 00:38:31 Diminish emotional nuances and create high environmental energy and water demands for data centers.
00:38:31 --> 00:38:36 Now, of course, that last thing, the data centers, is a very big thing.
00:38:36 --> 00:38:40 And if you notice, it's become part of a lot of the candidates that are running
00:38:40 --> 00:38:44 for office platforms because, you know,
00:38:45 --> 00:38:50 people are talking about how you shouldn't vote for this person because they
00:38:50 --> 00:38:53 support the data centers and so forth and so forth.
00:38:53 --> 00:38:57 So this is where we are with AI at this time.
00:38:58 --> 00:39:03 I want to get you guys' thoughts on, because I know we all use it now.
00:39:03 --> 00:39:06 Let me admit Tim was kind of laughing Earl here with Tim,
00:39:08 --> 00:39:11 Tim Earp on this show Tim was like what's that,
00:39:12 --> 00:39:17 you know yeah I mean so yeah because like I said earlier today we was talking
00:39:17 --> 00:39:21 about this and I remember the show y'all was talking about ChatGPT and I was like what's that,
00:39:22 --> 00:39:25 and I'm like my wife was in there on the phone and she's talking this thing
00:39:25 --> 00:39:29 I'm like what are you talking to who are you talking to and the thing was talking
00:39:29 --> 00:39:31 back to her I'm like what is this,
00:39:31 --> 00:39:34 ChatGPT I'm like What is ChatGPT?
00:39:35 --> 00:39:39 Now, mind you, ladies and gentlemen, that was what, like two years ago?
00:39:40 --> 00:39:47 Yeah, that was about two years ago. So here we are in this new era of AI.
00:39:47 --> 00:39:51 And I'm sorry, Dave, I didn't mean to take over the conversation.
00:39:51 --> 00:39:53 Yeah, but this is the discussion, so go ahead.
00:39:54 --> 00:39:59 You know, it has evolved in a short period of time.
00:39:59 --> 00:40:01 We're talking less than 48 months.
00:40:02 --> 00:40:07 Now you have, not only do you have JetGPT, you got CoPilot on Microsoft.
00:40:08 --> 00:40:15 You have Gemini on Google. you have open AI you have of course Alexa you got,
00:40:18 --> 00:40:22 it was like excuse me I'm sorry soon I said Alexa it came on.
00:40:25 --> 00:40:26 I don't know if Alexa I'm talking right now,
00:40:28 --> 00:40:34 but like in my car you know I got Gemini in my car you know and I'm like and
00:40:34 --> 00:40:43 I'm sitting there saying to myself in 48 months this AI technology has expanded and evolved.
00:40:44 --> 00:40:48 Now, I know, ladies and gentlemen, if you follow the news, you know we had that
00:40:48 --> 00:40:55 one gentleman who stated that AI could possibly take over computers and take over the world.
00:40:56 --> 00:40:59 Like, what was that, Terminator 2? Skynet. Skynet.
00:40:59 --> 00:41:03 Where the computers basically took over and basically took over.
00:41:04 --> 00:41:10 Now, do I think AI would do something of that nature, I don't know.
00:41:12 --> 00:41:20 I mean, I'm honestly saying, I don't know. It is scary how much this technology can do.
00:41:20 --> 00:41:23 As me and Dave were stating earlier, Dave, ladies and gentlemen,
00:41:23 --> 00:41:27 you know, Dave has his promotions. I do parties and so forth and so on.
00:41:28 --> 00:41:32 Just two years ago, we were contacting somebody to do flyers for us. Right.
00:41:32 --> 00:41:37 Yeah, we were talking about this. Now, you holler, copilot, chat GPT,
00:41:38 --> 00:41:42 create a flyer for me. You tell them what I want, and boom, it makes it.
00:41:43 --> 00:41:47 So you just put somebody out of work A graphic artist is now like They out of work.
00:41:50 --> 00:41:54 Just like that And companies are laying them off left and right You have When
00:41:54 --> 00:41:56 you pick up the phone I was,
00:41:57 --> 00:42:02 telling my wife I had to call XM Satellite Radio Because I had a problem with
00:42:02 --> 00:42:08 XM So I called Cirrus And found out what's going on And I'm talking to their AI,
00:42:09 --> 00:42:12 And I'm like, well no no no I don't want to talk to AI, I want to talk to a human being,
00:42:13 --> 00:42:18 But the AI is telling me everything about my account, when I made my last payment,
00:42:18 --> 00:42:20 what kind of car I drive. I'm like, wait a minute, hold on.
00:42:23 --> 00:42:30 It's the AI? It's the AI. It's become...
00:42:31 --> 00:42:37 To the point where now people are nervous. You have these customer service jobs
00:42:37 --> 00:42:39 where you used to call in and speak to a human being.
00:42:39 --> 00:42:41 Now you're speaking to AI.
00:42:43 --> 00:42:47 So where does that leave middle America that needed those jobs?
00:42:48 --> 00:42:52 They're gone. Now, the guy playing president talking about he's great,
00:42:52 --> 00:42:55 build the world largest steel mill in Iowa. Okay.
00:42:56 --> 00:43:03 But what about the people, this generation who don't have the skill set to work
00:43:03 --> 00:43:08 like their grandparents did in the steel mills and like Joe Jackson did in the
00:43:08 --> 00:43:09 steel mills with Jacksons.
00:43:10 --> 00:43:13 Some of these kids don't want to work like that. Their mindset is,
00:43:14 --> 00:43:16 I want to do tech. I want to code.
00:43:18 --> 00:43:22 I want to code. I want to do tech. My son does AI. He does IT.
00:43:22 --> 00:43:27 He codes. He codes. That's what he does. And he makes good money doing it i mean,
00:43:28 --> 00:43:34 the the the sunday the season premiere of 60 minutes,
00:43:34 --> 00:43:41 opened up the show with a gentleman who runs one of the biggest ai companies
00:43:41 --> 00:43:46 techs on the planet yeah open ai it was open ai open ai yeah this kid's 23 years
00:43:46 --> 00:43:49 old he's a billionaire right 23.
00:43:51 --> 00:43:54 Okay crazy okay and and and his people,
00:43:54 --> 00:43:58 all they do is code, and they work in part-time making $120, $150 an hour.
00:43:58 --> 00:44:02 Yeah, and ain't got to leave his house. Ain't got to leave his house.
00:44:03 --> 00:44:11 So, I look at this technology, it's scary. That's one, it's scary. That's one.
00:44:12 --> 00:44:17 Then, you look at the people who are in charge of all this technology.
00:44:18 --> 00:44:23 They just had the, quote, summit, And for those who are in business And if you
00:44:23 --> 00:44:27 ever invested And you have invested in a company They have quarterly meetings
00:44:27 --> 00:44:28 Investors have quarterly meetings
00:44:28 --> 00:44:31 To talk about, you know Where the company's going Or what's going on,
00:44:32 --> 00:44:36 That meeting two weeks ago in the White House with Trump, that wasn't no summit,
00:44:36 --> 00:44:39 ladies and gentlemen. That was a quarterly business meeting.
00:44:40 --> 00:44:44 Every person that was in there around him, he's invested in every one of those companies.
00:44:45 --> 00:44:49 That's all it was. You can't stop this technology. You can't.
00:44:50 --> 00:44:57 He said something that I heard him say and I listened to every word he was saying.
00:44:57 --> 00:45:03 He said that communities that don't want these data centers in their backyard,
00:45:03 --> 00:45:09 the companies that create these data centers need to let these communities invest,
00:45:09 --> 00:45:13 in them so they can get dividends from their investment.
00:45:14 --> 00:45:19 Well, that'll be the way to kind of get it to pass, you know,
00:45:19 --> 00:45:25 so that they can try to get these people to climb on board with them so they
00:45:25 --> 00:45:27 can get a piece of the pie.
00:45:27 --> 00:45:33 But, you know, they're, you know, these data centers, man, they're,
00:45:34 --> 00:45:38 you know, I can see if they only plan in one, you know, but they,
00:45:39 --> 00:45:42 they got like three or four of them coming up at a time.
00:45:43 --> 00:45:46 They're trying to pop up like amazon yeah yeah,
00:45:46 --> 00:45:51 no that's what they try to do they try to pop up like yeah i did and and then
00:45:51 --> 00:45:55 the utilities that they're going to need in order because these places ain't
00:45:55 --> 00:45:58 small they you know these places take up football fields and,
00:45:59 --> 00:46:05 and and the amount of utilities and so forth that they're going to need mostly
00:46:05 --> 00:46:08 water which is the most fascinating anything,
00:46:08 --> 00:46:14 when it comes to this is how much water that these places have to use in order
00:46:14 --> 00:46:17 to get everything to run properly yeah,
00:46:18 --> 00:46:25 so what are they going to do about the water supply it's mind boggling yeah
00:46:25 --> 00:46:32 because every place that wants to do one of these data centers is near water.
00:46:33 --> 00:46:39 Ohio has five that's literally right on the banks of Lake,
00:46:41 --> 00:46:46 Erie right on the banks like you know they want to build a couple of them in
00:46:46 --> 00:46:53 Buffalo which you know Lake Erie is right on the other side of Lake Erie so you're like okay,
00:46:55 --> 00:46:59 But where is this technology going to go five years from? I'll tell you.
00:47:00 --> 00:47:03 Put it in Cowboy Stadium. I'll be fine with that.
00:47:07 --> 00:47:10 Now, here's the thing, ladies and gentlemen, for those folks who live in the
00:47:10 --> 00:47:14 Texas area, around Cowboy Stadium ain't no water. So I don't know what you're
00:47:14 --> 00:47:15 going to do about that one, Paul. Yeah, I know.
00:47:15 --> 00:47:19 Ain't no water out there. But let them figure it out.
00:47:23 --> 00:47:25 But, you know. But what's your thoughts? What are you thinking?
00:47:25 --> 00:47:27 Because I know you, look, you
00:47:27 --> 00:47:31 were actually the person to introduce both of us to chat GPT. So, yeah.
00:47:32 --> 00:47:35 So what's your thoughts on the whole thing? So, you know,
00:47:37 --> 00:47:41 I really feel conflicted, but maybe not so much because, you know,
00:47:41 --> 00:47:46 I feel like AI is another form of technology that us, you know,
00:47:46 --> 00:47:50 black people, African-Americans are two steps behind on.
00:47:51 --> 00:47:54 And unfortunately, kind of like, you know, Tim and, you know,
00:47:54 --> 00:47:59 you said we're not the creators of these AI platforms. We're kind of like the
00:47:59 --> 00:48:02 consumer. So, you know, we're already on the backside of it.
00:48:03 --> 00:48:07 But, okay, so I mean, I understand the data centers.
00:48:07 --> 00:48:11 Nobody wants a data center in their backyard and, you know, with how much water
00:48:11 --> 00:48:14 they consume, you know, nobody just wants that. And, you know,
00:48:14 --> 00:48:17 we don't know what those future effects may be of, you know,
00:48:17 --> 00:48:21 having data centers close to communities and schools and all that.
00:48:21 --> 00:48:28 But I do feel like black people cannot afford to get behind in this AI revolution,
00:48:29 --> 00:48:31 because, I mean, I'll put it like this, Tim.
00:48:31 --> 00:48:36 I mean, I probably always tell Dave, I use AI all the time, like chat GPT,
00:48:36 --> 00:48:39 like I talked to it, talked back to me, you know, all that stuff.
00:48:40 --> 00:48:47 And not only is it intelligent with what it says that assists me in doing what
00:48:47 --> 00:48:50 I do, but it also saves me a lot of money too.
00:48:50 --> 00:48:55 Like, just for instance, I was messing with this computer program and I needed
00:48:55 --> 00:48:58 this bit of code that I could use.
00:48:59 --> 00:49:03 And I already know if I send it to, you know, the company, they're going to
00:49:03 --> 00:49:05 charge me four or five hundred dollars.
00:49:06 --> 00:49:11 Chat GPT, put this code together in about four minutes.
00:49:11 --> 00:49:15 And, you know, I put the code where I need it to be and it worked.
00:49:15 --> 00:49:17 You know, I had to tweak it and go back a little bit.
00:49:17 --> 00:49:21 But, you know, one hour later, I was done. That saved me $400.
00:49:22 --> 00:49:28 And, you know, so just the knowledge that ChatGPT has on these other AI softwares,
00:49:28 --> 00:49:33 I personally feel like if we are not using this to get the upper hand,
00:49:33 --> 00:49:36 then it's almost like it's going to attract me running barefoot.
00:49:36 --> 00:49:41 You know, it's like the other people, they got spikes and cleats and we're out
00:49:41 --> 00:49:43 here running, you know, running the 400 barefoot.
00:49:44 --> 00:49:48 So, I mean, that's why I'm kind of conflicted. But, I mean, I do agree,
00:49:48 --> 00:49:53 like, you know, half of these kids, you know, my daughter, she went into her freshman year.
00:49:54 --> 00:49:57 You know, half of these majors aren't even going to be around soon because,
00:49:57 --> 00:50:01 you know, chat GPs just make it too easy. You know, like I was telling Dave.
00:50:02 --> 00:50:07 And I mean, I guess Ronnie probably knows if she was talking to ChatGPT too,
00:50:07 --> 00:50:13 but, you know, counselors and therapists and like, you can talk to ChatGPT and
00:50:13 --> 00:50:16 it will talk back to you, you know. Man, listen.
00:50:17 --> 00:50:19 Intelligently, you know, it's not just that crazy stuff.
00:50:20 --> 00:50:24 So it's kind of like any type of counselor, business coach.
00:50:24 --> 00:50:32 I mean, to be honest, it's kind of hard to think about jobs that ChatGPT won't be able to do.
00:50:32 --> 00:50:36 Like the only thing they won't be able to do, you know, these skilled laborers.
00:50:36 --> 00:50:39 Like, I feel like all these people in these techs, like, you know,
00:50:39 --> 00:50:44 like the tech schools, you know, maybe people work in the beauty industry doing
00:50:44 --> 00:50:46 hair and makeup and nails.
00:50:46 --> 00:50:52 And, you know, but I mean, I think chat GPT is, I mean, AI in general is going
00:50:52 --> 00:50:53 to take over so many jobs.
00:50:54 --> 00:50:58 I think it's really going to make us into the haves and the have nots.
00:50:58 --> 00:51:04 Yeah, I was watching that special from 60 Minutes and they had a lawyer on it.
00:51:05 --> 00:51:13 And the question was, do you think that this technology will replace, you know, a counselor?
00:51:14 --> 00:51:21 And the lawyer, she said, no, but it helps them prepare to defend a client.
00:51:22 --> 00:51:32 Mind you, there's a movie on Netflix that me and my wife watched that was the AI.
00:51:33 --> 00:51:38 Excuse me, ladies and gentlemen. The AI was the judge, the jury, and executioner.
00:51:38 --> 00:51:43 The AI told him you had 24 hours to defend yourself.
00:51:43 --> 00:51:49 No lawyer, no lawyer. You had 24 hours to defend yourself.
00:51:49 --> 00:51:54 They put you in a chair, sat you down, and, you know, you was talking to the
00:51:54 --> 00:51:57 thing and it was telling you it was going back and, you know,
00:51:57 --> 00:51:58 it was reliving everything he was doing.
00:51:59 --> 00:52:02 And I'm sitting there watching this thing like, wait a minute.
00:52:02 --> 00:52:08 That's not even a human being up there. He's talking to a computer and his life is on the line.
00:52:09 --> 00:52:12 You're talking to an AI and your life is on an iron. Ladies and gentlemen,
00:52:12 --> 00:52:14 yes, it was a movie. It was a movie.
00:52:15 --> 00:52:23 However, can you imagine 10, 15 years from now, you did a crime and now you're
00:52:23 --> 00:52:25 standing in front of an AI judge.
00:52:27 --> 00:52:30 Not a real judge, not a human being. An AI judge.
00:52:30 --> 00:52:36 Only going to go by what, you know, the evidence is like, okay, you shot a man.
00:52:37 --> 00:52:41 That's it. No emotions, no nothing. You shot him in, you're going to jail.
00:52:42 --> 00:52:45 Well, you know, Tim, it's funny you say that because they're already doing that.
00:52:46 --> 00:52:51 And I say that in terms of the social media platforms.
00:52:51 --> 00:52:54 Yes, sir. You know, if they think you violated that content,
00:52:55 --> 00:52:57 you know, it's not even getting to a real person.
00:52:58 --> 00:53:02 You know, it's going to the AI content that says, OK, Tim said,
00:53:03 --> 00:53:06 you know, he's DJing and he said, I'm about to blow this shit up.
00:53:07 --> 00:53:10 They take it as a terror versus a threat, your accounts delete it,
00:53:10 --> 00:53:14 and you don't even get a chance to appeal it, to speak to somebody in person.
00:53:14 --> 00:53:18 So, I mean, I can definitely see that happening.
00:53:18 --> 00:53:28 And the other thing we know from social media and AI is that AI algorithm, we're not creating AI.
00:53:28 --> 00:53:31 So that AI algorithm is not in our favor either.
00:53:31 --> 00:53:35 That's another thing i noticed and i mean dave was talking about that earlier,
00:53:36 --> 00:53:41 that everybody that was at this summit meeting everyone of course there was
00:53:41 --> 00:53:44 not one black person in that building not one,
00:53:45 --> 00:53:53 which leads me to try to understand do we or should i say the generation underneath from the,
00:53:54 --> 00:53:58 the younger generation the ones the kids that's doing the coding here they're
00:53:58 --> 00:54:01 doing all this tech and everything, are they learning,
00:54:02 --> 00:54:05 how to maneuver through this AI?
00:54:06 --> 00:54:10 You know, you know, I mean, I got my grand boys.
00:54:10 --> 00:54:15 I don't want my grand boys, you know, doing their homework, you know,
00:54:15 --> 00:54:18 going through chat GPT, chat GPT.
00:54:18 --> 00:54:20 Can you tell me what two plus two is? No.
00:54:22 --> 00:54:26 You know what I'm saying? No, no, no, no. We do it the old fashioned way.
00:54:26 --> 00:54:31 You know, we do it like this, you know, but I see that, you know,
00:54:31 --> 00:54:33 because think about it right now.
00:54:34 --> 00:54:36 The technology is babysitters.
00:54:37 --> 00:54:41 You know now leonard i know you don't have any grands just yet but you hopefully
00:54:41 --> 00:54:45 you hopefully you don't have any no time soon but,
00:54:45 --> 00:54:50 my grands got tablets and phones and that's their babysitter you want to keep
00:54:50 --> 00:54:52 a kid quiet give him his phone give her a phone,
00:54:53 --> 00:54:58 you know and with the the latest toy story movie toy story 5 is on disney plus
00:54:58 --> 00:55:02 now i didn't see it my grandson wanted to watch as we sitting there watching
00:55:02 --> 00:55:04 it. And I'm like, oh my God.
00:55:05 --> 00:55:09 You know, the little girl came in with her toys and other little girls had their
00:55:09 --> 00:55:11 tablets. They talking about, you still play with toys?
00:55:13 --> 00:55:18 You know, so she ran back and gave the dolls back to her dad and got her little
00:55:18 --> 00:55:22 tablet so she could fit in. She could fit in.
00:55:23 --> 00:55:27 Yeah, look, we're in a different day and time when it comes to this AI stuff.
00:55:28 --> 00:55:34 And, you know, sooner or later, we will be dealing with Vicky for real,
00:55:34 --> 00:55:35 if you know what I'm saying.
00:55:37 --> 00:55:41 Because Vicky showed us how many years ago when iRobot came out.
00:55:44 --> 00:55:52 How things could really be in a world filled with robots and artificial intelligence.
00:55:52 --> 00:55:57 And see, you know, people forget this artificial intelligence has been around for a long time.
00:55:59 --> 00:56:05 When we started using Garmin and the,
00:56:08 --> 00:56:12 Garmin for directions as far as DPS.
00:56:13 --> 00:56:17 Yeah, you know, they were telling us what to do, where to go,
00:56:17 --> 00:56:21 and they were making our routes easier for us. You know, this is all AI.
00:56:22 --> 00:56:25 You know, you can go back to Any Meal of the States, you know,
00:56:25 --> 00:56:28 all AI stuff they're talking about in there.
00:56:28 --> 00:56:33 You know, I was watching, I was watching this fooling around and I only had
00:56:33 --> 00:56:34 it on for a couple of minutes.
00:56:34 --> 00:56:41 But they, they, Ocean's 8 with all the women, you know, this time it was just
00:56:41 --> 00:56:47 the women, Bullock and Rihanna and them were, were the people stealing in this movie.
00:56:48 --> 00:56:51 And that movie came out in 2012 or somewhere around there.
00:56:54 --> 00:56:59 One of the props that one of the girls used was a pair of Meta glasses.
00:56:59 --> 00:57:02 And they were filming stuff from her glasses.
00:57:02 --> 00:57:05 And I was like, gosh, that stuff was around back then?
00:57:06 --> 00:57:11 So it just tells you a lot about where we're going. But this is another subject
00:57:11 --> 00:57:14 that we can talk about. I just wanted to bring it up so we can have a little
00:57:14 --> 00:57:20 roundtable. I'm sure people are going to have a lot to say about it when they listen to the show.
00:57:20 --> 00:57:26 You can always let us know what your thoughts are as we get ready to move on to our last story.
00:57:27 --> 00:57:30 Just stay awake, folks. That's all we got to say about that.
00:57:30 --> 00:57:33 Just stay awake. Yeah. Okay. Yeah.
00:57:34 --> 00:57:40 Leonard and I have had this conversation a couple times about how we feel about
00:57:40 --> 00:57:45 these types of situations that are happening with our actors and actresses coming,
00:57:46 --> 00:57:49 from other countries and so forth, coming here, taking roles,
00:57:51 --> 00:57:52 that Americans should be playing.
00:57:53 --> 00:58:01 So this story is about BMF for real actor Da Vinci sets off diaspora debate,
00:58:02 --> 00:58:05 with lazy and confident comments about Americans.
00:58:06 --> 00:58:11 Now for those who don't know who Da Vinci is he played Big Meets his brother,
00:58:12 --> 00:58:18 on BMF on BMF on 50 Cent series about you know.
00:58:19 --> 00:58:27 Docuseries as I call it about what happened back during the 70s when BMF was in control,
00:58:27 --> 00:58:33 in the south and well started out in Detroit and made their way down south and
00:58:33 --> 00:58:37 eventually all over the country they had people doing things so,
00:58:38 --> 00:58:43 so this story is about it says the bmf star went viral online for controversial
00:58:43 --> 00:58:51 comments about lazy and incompetent americans doing a sit down with cam newton on cam newton's podcast,
00:58:52 --> 00:58:58 when asked about actors from other backgrounds and.
00:58:59 --> 00:59:05 Frequently being cast in American roles to be an F-star spoke on what he feels
00:59:05 --> 00:59:08 is the difference in work ethic. And this is what he said.
00:59:09 --> 00:59:14 I do think that the work ethic of Americans is one,
00:59:15 --> 00:59:19 People in the higher positions don't feel they can trust them, he said.
00:59:20 --> 00:59:26 I feel like my generation, our generation, what we're seeing is that humans
00:59:26 --> 00:59:28 are becoming more incompetent.
00:59:29 --> 00:59:36 And America is producing like we baby our kids in a way that is unheard of.
00:59:36 --> 00:59:42 You've got people that are 25, 35 and are like kids.
00:59:43 --> 00:59:51 They can't even do their own laundry. They can't wipe their own selves. For me, I was fortunate.
00:59:51 --> 00:59:54 I was born here, but my parents aren't from here.
00:59:55 --> 00:59:59 My grandmother helped raise me, and she didn't speak English.
00:59:59 --> 01:00:05 So at home, she was from Haiti, and on the outside world, it was America.
01:00:06 --> 01:00:13 I had work ethic. I was determined. I could take care of myself fully at like eight years old.
01:00:14 --> 01:00:20 But in America, no shade to you guys, but the way the culture moved,
01:00:20 --> 01:00:25 the majority of its citizens, you're just incompetent for a really long time,
01:00:26 --> 01:00:28 and I think this country promotes that.
01:00:29 --> 01:00:34 When questioned by Cam on whether or not that was a sweeping generalization
01:00:34 --> 01:00:38 that could be better described as his own personal experience,
01:00:38 --> 01:00:46 da Vinci doubled down on his assertion that America breeds people who lack critical thinking skills,
01:00:46 --> 01:00:52 the ability to work hard, and who have curiosity that stretches beyond what
01:00:52 --> 01:00:56 they know of course he conveniently.
01:00:57 --> 01:01:04 Left out that every role he played was created by those incompetent Americans,
01:01:05 --> 01:01:07 with little to no work ethic.
01:01:07 --> 01:01:13 Then that he spoke of, Da Vinci then made his way over to threads.
01:01:14 --> 01:01:18 He tried to speak his piece and set the record straight. However,
01:01:18 --> 01:01:20 the damage had already been done.
01:01:20 --> 01:01:25 In response to that comment, stating, there's nothing else we need to hear after
01:01:25 --> 01:01:27 being called incompetent.
01:01:28 --> 01:01:32 Da Vinci claimed, you're not. I'm sorry you felt like it was you.
01:01:33 --> 01:01:34 It was a generalized statement.
01:01:35 --> 01:01:40 I should have been more specific. Love you, Queen, a video from a fellow actor
01:01:40 --> 01:01:46 claiming to be a former friend of Da Vinci called him out for being very anti-Black,
01:01:47 --> 01:01:48 during their time together.
01:01:49 --> 01:01:56 Brendan berry brown said the chicago fire actor previously said he wanted to
01:01:56 --> 01:01:57 stay away from the black thing,
01:01:58 --> 01:02:05 for his personal brand and the new cam newton interview revealed long held beliefs,
01:02:05 --> 01:02:11 so basically he tried to walk it back but he said it already you know what i
01:02:11 --> 01:02:15 mean yeah yeah Yeah, you could walk that back even if you wanted to. Yeah, yeah.
01:02:16 --> 01:02:20 And, you know, I know Leonard and I have talked about this a couple different
01:02:20 --> 01:02:23 times on, you know, how these actors are coming over.
01:02:24 --> 01:02:26 But what's interesting are the
01:02:26 --> 01:02:30 characters that they're playing and they're getting their acclaim from.
01:02:32 --> 01:02:36 But then they want to You know They want to walk it back,
01:02:38 --> 01:02:44 When they say comments Or make comments about American actors being lazy And
01:02:44 --> 01:02:49 how They're able to get these roles because They're more believable in their roles,
01:02:50 --> 01:02:54 And they work harder To get these roles What's your guys opinion?
01:02:54 --> 01:02:57 So I mean my opinion is,
01:02:58 --> 01:03:02 they may not be wrong, but, you know, it's just, you know, there's certain stuff
01:03:02 --> 01:03:03 you just can't talk about.
01:03:03 --> 01:03:06 You know, like you can't come to America and talk about Americans,
01:03:07 --> 01:03:09 especially while you're taking their jobs.
01:03:09 --> 01:03:14 And I mean, I think, you know, we've all seen it. Like there are certain things
01:03:14 --> 01:03:18 here that, you know, black people don't want to do because, you know,
01:03:18 --> 01:03:20 they may think it's beneath them. White people don't want to do because they
01:03:20 --> 01:03:21 think it's beneath them.
01:03:22 --> 01:03:26 But these people coming from other countries just see it as more of an opportunity.
01:03:26 --> 01:03:30 But I mean, I, you know, I think the biggest thing is you can't say everything
01:03:30 --> 01:03:35 you think and, you know, and everything you think doesn't need to be said.
01:03:35 --> 01:03:37 So that's that's true. Yeah.
01:03:38 --> 01:03:42 Yeah, I agree with you on that one. This one, he should have thought this through.
01:03:42 --> 01:03:46 I'm pretty sure he was thinking, OK, I'm on a podcast.
01:03:47 --> 01:03:49 You know, I'm with, you know, a former NFL player.
01:03:50 --> 01:03:52 I should be able to quote, speak my mind, unquote.
01:03:53 --> 01:03:58 Not exactly my bad certain things you want to say,
01:03:59 --> 01:04:03 and you shouldn't and this is what i'm like i'm reading the quote humans are
01:04:03 --> 01:04:09 becoming more incompetent and america's producing we baby our kids in a way that's unheard of,
01:04:10 --> 01:04:14 yeah he says i had work ethic i was determined to take care of myself fully
01:04:14 --> 01:04:14 like eight years old okay.
01:04:16 --> 01:04:20 I took care of myself when I was eight, nine years old. You know,
01:04:20 --> 01:04:25 my mom taught me, hey, I got to go to work. This is what you're going to do. Yeah, that's right.
01:04:25 --> 01:04:28 You're going to come in here and see you and watch your cartoons.
01:04:28 --> 01:04:31 I never get when the term. You watch cartoons, do your homework,
01:04:31 --> 01:04:33 take your bath, go to bed.
01:04:33 --> 01:04:37 Yeah, I never get when the term Lasky Kid came out. And I said,
01:04:37 --> 01:04:41 Lasky Kid? I said, gosh, I was dead all my life.
01:04:43 --> 01:04:46 You know, I mean, you know, I mean, like me and all my friends,
01:04:46 --> 01:04:50 who grew up, I mean, we literally took care of ourselves between the ages of
01:04:50 --> 01:04:55 8 and 11, because our parents had to work. My mom had two jobs.
01:04:57 --> 01:04:59 My mom made sure I went to school. When I got home from school,
01:04:59 --> 01:05:01 she was home from the first job.
01:05:01 --> 01:05:06 She made sure that, you know, hey, okay, dinner, you heat up your dinner and
01:05:06 --> 01:05:08 then we had no microwave back then, so you had to put it in the oven.
01:05:10 --> 01:05:15 You know what I mean? So, you know, I was able to take care of myself at that age.
01:05:16 --> 01:05:20 But it wasn't to the point where I grew up thinking I'm better than anybody
01:05:20 --> 01:05:25 because I take care of myself. I mean, granted, yes, this gentleman's parents
01:05:25 --> 01:05:28 was from Haiti, and I get it.
01:05:29 --> 01:05:33 When you're from another country and you come to America, you're going to work.
01:05:34 --> 01:05:37 Time harder because you, first of all, you got to prove yourself.
01:05:37 --> 01:05:38 That's first and foremost.
01:05:38 --> 01:05:43 That's first and foremost. Anybody who comes to this country knows you just
01:05:43 --> 01:05:45 can't come to this country and think, okay, I'm American now.
01:05:45 --> 01:05:49 I can just sit around. No, no, you got to work hard to get what you want.
01:05:50 --> 01:05:53 So they going to instill that knowledge to their children.
01:05:55 --> 01:06:00 So one thing I'll say about this guy too, it's interesting that he said all
01:06:00 --> 01:06:04 of that because he has worked pretty steadily since he, you know,
01:06:05 --> 01:06:10 He's been in a lot of big, big shows and movies.
01:06:11 --> 01:06:16 He's played some big parts outside of doing BMF. And.
01:06:19 --> 01:06:30 He needs to be careful because now I wonder if making that comment is going to hurt his pocket now.
01:06:31 --> 01:06:34 Just like the gentleman. What was the other gentleman? the gentleman who,
01:06:35 --> 01:06:41 oh my god the guy who played in Creed 3 the gentleman you know what you want,
01:06:41 --> 01:06:46 to talk about oh you talking about you know the guy I'm talking about Jonathan yeah,
01:06:48 --> 01:06:53 remember yeah remember ladies and gentlemen that gentleman was supposed to play,
01:06:54 --> 01:07:03 Kang in an upcoming movie yeah he messed this up all he messed that all up yeah Yeah, yeah, yeah.
01:07:03 --> 01:07:05 Well, that's a whole nother story.
01:07:10 --> 01:07:18 Yeah, that's a whole nother story. But I guess the moral of this story is,
01:07:20 --> 01:07:23 If you're making money, keep your mouth shut. Yeah, thank you.
01:07:24 --> 01:07:26 I was trying to find a political way of saying it. If you're making money,
01:07:26 --> 01:07:28 just be quiet. Just be quiet.
01:07:30 --> 01:07:33 You know, just be quiet. You know, make your money, you know,
01:07:34 --> 01:07:38 and just keep the noise out, you know, and just go ahead and make your money.
01:07:38 --> 01:07:43 You can't go, you know, you can't go up there and mess up your money like that.
01:07:43 --> 01:07:49 You get on these podcasts, man. Just be careful what you're saying. I know. I know.
01:07:49 --> 01:07:54 A lot of these podcasts don't have no producers you know explaining what you
01:07:54 --> 01:07:59 can and cannot say it's just you and that person that's right you know.
01:08:01 --> 01:08:04 That's why when you hear people on the breakfast club and they're doing their
01:08:04 --> 01:08:09 interviews on the breakfast club you know some of them interviews go well some
01:08:09 --> 01:08:15 of them don't you know because you know somebody just said something crazy I was listening to,
01:08:16 --> 01:08:20 Chris Rock was on there this morning he was hilarious i ain't gonna lie he was
01:08:20 --> 01:08:24 but he said a lot of crazy stuff too i ain't gonna lie so you know,
01:08:25 --> 01:08:29 but you know and i'm sure he said some things that people ain't gonna be too
01:08:29 --> 01:08:35 happy about so you know so but here we are so but anyway well you know i just
01:08:35 --> 01:08:40 wanted to bring that up because he said it and i'm sure he's going to eat it at some point so,
01:08:41 --> 01:08:46 But that brings us to Leonard's favorite part of the show, Dave's Corner.
01:08:46 --> 01:08:50 And I figured I'd let Leonard, you know, have some fun with this,
01:08:51 --> 01:08:55 you know, since he's always trying to take over my corner all the time.
01:08:56 --> 01:08:59 I told him this ain't the wire. I told him this ain't the wire,
01:08:59 --> 01:09:01 so, you know, but he don't get it. So, you know.
01:09:02 --> 01:09:05 Sorry, Leonard, this is my favorite part of the show, man. I love Dave's.
01:09:08 --> 01:09:12 Hey, Tim, Dave's head just doubled in size, right, as you said that.
01:09:15 --> 01:09:21 Anyway, so we're going to have Leonard do some culture check questions real
01:09:21 --> 01:09:22 quick, you know, before we sign off.
01:09:23 --> 01:09:28 And let's see how well we get it. Go ahead and do your little promo for culture
01:09:28 --> 01:09:31 check there, man, before you give us the questions.
01:09:32 --> 01:09:36 Tim, you see how Dave said, dude, a little promo. Do your little promo.
01:09:36 --> 01:09:39 I hear you. Yeah, you know.
01:09:39 --> 01:09:43 But, you know, long story short, Culture Check is in the App Store.
01:09:43 --> 01:09:49 It is the ultimate test of black culture. We have over 15 black culture questions.
01:09:49 --> 01:09:53 You can play against your friends and see who scores higher on the leaderboard.
01:09:54 --> 01:09:55 I should have looked to see if
01:09:55 --> 01:10:01 Dave is still number one in the sports category or if he got knocked off.
01:10:02 --> 01:10:07 I know you'd be happy with that. I got to get in there too, man. I got,
01:10:09 --> 01:10:12 to go check it out too. All right. So today, since Dave says he wants to do
01:10:12 --> 01:10:15 music, we are going to do.
01:10:16 --> 01:10:19 Let me see. We are going to do.
01:10:21 --> 01:10:23 Old school hip hop. Okay.
01:10:24 --> 01:10:29 It's right up my alley. Okay. And we are going to see who knows their hip hop.
01:10:30 --> 01:10:32 And in Dave's case, who doesn't?
01:10:35 --> 01:10:39 Now, don't get me wrong. Dave knows some hip hop. Yeah, yeah.
01:10:39 --> 01:10:42 No, but he likes to mess with me, though. He likes to mess with me.
01:10:43 --> 01:10:47 Okay. All right. Now, are you giving us multiple choices? Is that what you're doing?
01:10:48 --> 01:10:51 Well, first, first, I'll give you all a chance just to see if you get it.
01:10:51 --> 01:10:54 OK. If not, I'll go to the multiple choice. All right.
01:10:55 --> 01:11:00 All right. So this pack is actually called Hip Hop Golden Era.
01:11:01 --> 01:11:04 And it's test your knowledge on hip hop golden era, including artists,
01:11:04 --> 01:11:13 songs, culture and moments that shape rap music from the late 1880s to the to the 1990s.
01:11:13 --> 01:11:16 You mean 1980s, right? 1980s.
01:11:17 --> 01:11:22 Yeah. Well, no. In Dave's case, it's going to be the 1880s. All right.
01:11:22 --> 01:11:26 All right. So without further ado, yes, the 1980s to the 1990s.
01:11:26 --> 01:11:27 First question.
01:11:28 --> 01:11:33 Little Wayne was part of what group early in his career?
01:11:35 --> 01:11:40 If I'm not mistaken, if I'm not mistaken. All right.
01:11:41 --> 01:11:46 A. Go ahead. Go ahead. The hot boys. B.
01:11:47 --> 01:11:49 Cash money millionaires. C.
01:11:51 --> 01:11:55 Big timers. Or D. Squad up.
01:11:56 --> 01:12:02 That was hot boys, right? If I think that was. Tim, do you have any answer, Tim?
01:12:03 --> 01:12:08 I'm sorry? Yeah, I think it was the Hot Boys. I'm going to say the Hot Boys. Okay.
01:12:09 --> 01:12:12 All right. Who recorded the song Push It?
01:12:13 --> 01:12:18 Salt-N-Pepa. Of course, you know that Salt-N-Pepa. Okay. All right.
01:12:19 --> 01:12:29 What 2002 film starred Eminem in a semi-autobiographical role? Eighth Mile.
01:12:30 --> 01:12:33 That was Eighth Mile. They think he on fire here, don't they?
01:12:33 --> 01:12:36 Yeah, I am on fire, man. Go ahead. Let's go. Let's go.
01:12:36 --> 01:12:38 All right.
01:12:39 --> 01:12:45 Which group released the song, the 1993 song, Till Infinity?
01:12:46 --> 01:12:49 Okay. You got to give us multiple choice on that one. All right.
01:12:49 --> 01:12:52 Multiple choice. The Far Side. No, actually.
01:12:52 --> 01:12:54 Go ahead. Hieroglyphics. Mm-mm.
01:12:55 --> 01:12:59 Souls of Mischief. Mm-mm. Or Freestyle Fellowship.
01:13:00 --> 01:13:01 It was Souls of Mischief.
01:13:02 --> 01:13:06 Dave, you have an answer? He said they're kind of confident.
01:13:06 --> 01:13:07 He said they're kind of confident.
01:13:08 --> 01:13:13 I was thinking Farside, but go ahead. I'm going with Tim.
01:13:13 --> 01:13:21 Okay. The nickname Buck Bluff City, often referenced in rap lyrics,
01:13:21 --> 01:13:25 refers to which hip-hop hub?
01:13:26 --> 01:13:29 Buck Bluff City. It was a tour city. All right.
01:13:30 --> 01:13:34 And unfortunately, the quiz timed out. I did a screenshot, but I didn't get
01:13:34 --> 01:13:36 the last choice. So I'm not sure.
01:13:38 --> 01:13:46 Dallas, Jackson, Mississippi, Little Rock, or there may be one more choice that
01:13:46 --> 01:13:47 I didn't get the screenshot.
01:13:48 --> 01:13:52 You know the answer? No, I do not offhand.
01:13:52 --> 01:13:57 I want to say offhand, I'm going to say Little Rock. Buff City. Buff City, yeah.
01:13:59 --> 01:14:05 I'm going to say Little Rock. Is it Jacksonville? Now that's in hip-hop terms, correct?
01:14:06 --> 01:14:08 Hip-hop or regional, yes.
01:14:08 --> 01:14:10 Yeah, I'm going to say Little Rock.
01:14:11 --> 01:14:17 Yeah, I'm going to definitely say Little Rock. I got to put this in my chat, GPT.
01:14:18 --> 01:14:21 Oh, Lord. Real quick.
01:14:26 --> 01:14:27 Let's see.
01:14:29 --> 01:14:35 Memphis. Memphis. So you didn't give us that option. I know.
01:14:35 --> 01:14:38 So that was probably one of the options that was not on there.
01:14:38 --> 01:14:42 But the other ones, of course, were Hot Boys, Salt and Pepper,
01:14:42 --> 01:14:44 Eight Mile, Souls of Mischief.
01:14:45 --> 01:14:47 Yeah, I knew Souls of Mischief was that one. I knew that one.
01:14:47 --> 01:14:50 Because, matter of fact, the reason why I know that one is I actually just played
01:14:50 --> 01:14:52 that joint. I did. I remembered it.
01:14:54 --> 01:14:57 All right. Okay. All right. All right.
01:14:57 --> 01:15:03 So we we we we got them all except for that last one because yeah yeah yeah,
01:15:05 --> 01:15:08 well i'm well y'all y'all got five out of the ten of course the the questions
01:15:08 --> 01:15:13 are sets of ten questions and you have two minutes so you know,
