[00:00:00] , Liquor Talk, another brand new episode for you ladies and gentlemen starts right now

[00:00:07] so get that liquor poured up because this liquor talk time.

[00:00:11] I'm your man Victor coming out of Florida and I'm here today joining me today she is

[00:00:16] the host of the Breaking the Silence Podcast podcast out of New York.

[00:00:21] She's an author as well. She's been doing a lot of work and now she's going to drop a podcast called Breaking the Silence Podcast.

[00:00:29] Well what a better place than to not be silent and to be on Liquor Talk right welcome to the podcast author Nicky Nicole how you doing?

[00:00:38] By how are you and I'm from North Carolina.

[00:00:41] Yes North Carolina, I stood in my bed in North Carolina.

[00:00:46] Shout out to North Carolina we put out some of our podcasts coming from North Carolina come through Liquor Talk so shout out to you.

[00:00:54] I know you had the New York hat on so I don't know.

[00:00:59] But tell the people about the Breaking the Silence Podcast.

[00:01:04] Well I've been working on the Breaking the Silence Podcast launching for at least a year but it's finally going to launch on February 27th with my birthday.

[00:01:14] I've completed at least 12 episodes so far.

[00:01:18] It's going so good so far I'm looking for a business owners or anybody wants to showcase their talent for open night night.

[00:01:27] I'm going to do debates on Sunday night so I'm looking forward to I'm really excited about the launch.

[00:01:34] Hey congratulations on launching the podcast not that what took so long because you say you've been planning it for a year.

[00:01:41] What took you so long?

[00:01:43] Well when I started to launch it last year I was like you know it's not time so I wanted to just prep it more and be prepared and be ready when I was you know going to launch it so.

[00:01:54] I kind of just put over thought it basically I could have been probably lost but I was overthinking a little bit too much.

[00:02:01] Listen we all got to start somewhere and that's that's kind of inspiration because sometimes it's just better to start the podcast and just fix everything later and just ask questions later because.

[00:02:12] You're going to have people ask you when you're going to start a podcast and it gets redundant it gets over and over again because.

[00:02:19] You get those people that are wondering when are you going to do this because you said you were going to do this when is it coming out and you get up you get people wanting they be wanting maybe only about it so.

[00:02:30] Maybe you didn't have that so maybe you feel like it was the best time to wait a year to launch it but.

[00:02:36] Hey who knows at least it's launching exactly and I'm not going to stop it and keep it going.

[00:02:45] So tell me about the goal of the breaking the science podcast do you want what's the goal of your platform?

[00:02:51] Well the goal of my platform is to bring awareness to business owners artists people in general you know some people out there have a story to tell that maybe you know when ordinary tell it or maybe

[00:03:03] the story will help somebody else and you know you have small businesses that are small you know of course and they don't have that awareness or that marketing tool so every week I put somebody in the breaking the science podcast spotlight to you know showcase their their

[00:03:18] business you know I post every day about something to have going on just to bring awareness to them.

[00:03:23] Yes yes and I do appreciate you I'm sure that spot on that death will appreciate that I'm also shout out to Danny Marie checking in on YouTube a

[00:03:32] Danny Marie for San this definitely got to bring you on liquor talk as well that's going to talk let's set that up.

[00:03:38] So what was the inspiration behind the breaking the science podcast what made you say I want to go ahead and do this?

[00:03:45] Well I know that people often struggle to get their businesses off the ground and some people support some people and some people don't support others so my main thing is to support people.

[00:03:56] I mean I feel like support is the key and anything that you do if you don't have the support and nothing is going to move so it's basically to support everyone and get them out there you know because some people might not be the type of person to yeah I dare face the face and talk to people.

[00:04:13] So every time I'm advertising for free so hey let's put them in a spot like a free.

[00:04:20] Yes shout out to you for putting them in a spot like for free and also I hope they are bringing a substance and I hope they are bringing you something in return as well.

[00:04:30] But you share your platform with them.

[00:04:33] Well I want to believe that if you do good about people good things coming you so you know black is going to come my way in other ways you know even if it doesn't come from them it's going to come anyway you know be good to people you know treat everybody what you want to be treated things good things come to you.

[00:04:49] Yes that's that's the fact although I will stress that people need to be patient because they don't come right away you think oh do this good deal is going to come right away no you got to be putting in patients and you got put in work you know sand and also.

[00:05:04] And you just got to stay patient because sometimes you make good good for others but those people may not reciprocate those same feelings.

[00:05:12] I agree I agree completely.

[00:05:16] That's real that's real so what do you want to do with this platform do you just want to shine the spotlight on everybody else or what are you looking to do with this platform.

[00:05:27] Well I'm also right now I'm preparing to do what I call the BTS bag.

[00:05:34] I'm going to take those back I'm building up for a little bit so far I've got about four or five bags but what I'm going to do is put items in those bags like snacks water items like deodorant low shans shampoo things that people that are homes with these two brush two pays and I'm just going to go out on street and I'm going to give away you know there's people that the need when I watch my release my book motherhood I plan to do a motherhood drive.

[00:06:03] From the breaking style of five past where I get fighting some others in the diapers wise you know anything that they may be first time moms or even you know mom period so I have a lot of different things and I'm going to plan to do with the podcast besides having guests I want to go out there and I want to support the community as well.

[00:06:23] Yes we need that community would definitely need that definitely need you to go out there and support the community now talk about your book motherhood what is what was the big inspiration was as motherhood something that just totally changed your life.

[00:06:39] Motherhood is a story about me being a single mother and my goal with that book is to reach other thing of mother's out there and let them know they're not alone that they can do it you know you have mothers out there that are single mothers that want to give up because sometimes it can be a bit much but you still can do it you know you should decide take day by day so it's my personal story about my journey to single mother and how I managed to stay a boy who I'm doing that time period two kids.

[00:07:09] Yes I hope you measure step of water and I hope that you found the resources and I hope that you found the people that were willing to help you you know I'm saying because and also now stand with that story was the man even in the picture you know saying to help with the kid because some of us men nowadays in this generation they're stepping up to the plate you know I can't say that but other generations but from what I've seen men in this generation there are actually stepping up to the plate.

[00:07:39] I'm really making shit happen.

[00:07:41] No my baby probably well children's problems wasn't there I was totally alone I had my mother my mother was there to guide me to teach me everything that I did know she was my good support system for me I was able to go to school I was able to get my degree and I was able to work you know so she was my support.

[00:08:04] That's real shout out to shout out to moms moms are definitely the biggest support I said I definitely appreciate that.

[00:08:12] My mom was a single mom as well she made things happen and also on the backs of the support of people at my grandmother and her older sister as well so I definitely filled that as well and I also want thank you for sharing your story so what made you say out the world needs to hear this story?

[00:08:32] Well I mean you have a lot of single mothers out there that why have I put like five people in my family that are single mother and I see the struggle every day and what they go through and how you gonna fix this how you're going to go to work and what ship you're going to work you got a patient ship or why your children so I look at experiences around me and I took that and like you know maybe I need to tell the story because maybe the story we'll do and other not.

[00:09:00] Yes yes definitely others out there because this is a lot of single parents out there they're struggling make it they just got to figure out these resources to help them because the resources out there you just got to find it there's a way to make sure happen you just got to find it and I said a lot of people that they think their life is over just because they have a child no your life still just beginning no go out there and live your dreams.

[00:09:27] Absolutely I agree completely but you know most of the people you know have a child they give up they think that their life is over you know they can't do this and they can't do that I'm here to tell you that she can't do anything you want to those children should be your motivation to do more and to you know reach your dreams because they're looking at you know you're the role model so you can do what you got to do.

[00:09:52] Yes you definitely have to do what you have to do because those those babies are going to get older you know I'm saying they're going to be looking at you for inspiration and also you've got to have something to tell them about how to navigate the life.

[00:10:07] I agree I agree but the real parents doesn't start until they get wrong.

[00:10:14] People think that because that's when you got to teach them about credit you got to teach them about how to car and they wrench every five minutes and put some advice so the easy words when they're young to me.

[00:10:26] Yes really so you don't ever like teach them about stuff when they should because I really wish when I was young I wouldn't know about credit and buying houses and investing man if I would know that stuff when I was young I would have been investing the little checks I was getting from the movies.

[00:10:46] I would know what I know now but you know we were all just young then.

[00:10:51] Exactly exactly if I you know it's in my mom is old school so when she was raised you know her parents didn't teach her about credit about saving and those type of things because their thing was the pay bills you know pay your bills so those type of conversations wasn't had but when I got older when my kids got older that's when I had to start teaching those types of things for them.

[00:11:14] Yes yeah of course when you older you do better and also now that we have all the resources in the world at our disposal now it's a whole lot better.

[00:11:27] Absolutely so tell me is now is the motherhood book the only thing you're working on or what else are you working on besides the motherhood book?

[00:11:37] Well I was supposed to release a book on my birthday or lunch day as well I mean it still can release it's still in motion we love these it's a collection of short stories.

[00:11:49] It's after a follow up from a short story collection I wrote last year it makes the motion it was stories that were left on clip hangers so they're leading into the next story but I don't know it may lie on February 27th and may not.

[00:12:06] This can't lie as we can go. Wow that's amazing now talk about the short stories what was the biggest inspiration behind the short stories was something that happened to you personally or was these stories of somebody like your close to or people or things just you just observe when it comes to love.

[00:12:26] Well when love feeds like I said from mixed emotions mixed emotions came to me as lessons it's basically a book of lessons you know you see things that people go through in life and I just started writing and putting switch to it and making it exciting so people can look at things a little bit different.

[00:12:48] Now what's the one thing that you that stands out to people that that you wrote it but every time they read it is like it goes over people's heads and you're like you need to get where I'm coming from.

[00:13:03] Well recently I actually sold two books and they read it like it made it like 40 hours they came back to me with a review of it and you know that's the good book but see that book has sex in it too so it's got drama and has a lot of lessons to is you know it's got a story and a very first story it's about the Thomas guy he well he wasn't originally only he was married had a good life except for everything white love.

[00:13:33] For another guy and he lost everything she went behind the back and pretty much put everything in her name and you didn't have a card and have a house and have anything so he had no home so this lady came up to him.

[00:13:49] And he asked him what he wants so he gave him money of course and that was the first time second time she went and took him to get a haircut.

[00:13:58] Third time was like six times that it happened she's going to get something and she's going to get some clothes and then the final time she brought him out.

[00:14:09] She bought my house.

[00:14:11] She bought my house and thought and he had a bit and he was the owner of his own business before all this went down.

[00:14:20] He replenished him with his own benefit and as all of this happened the lady passed away after the lady passed away the lady showed up at the door and the lord had to figure out say that the lady was his mother now he's the doctor so the lady ended up being his real mother and she found him but she never told him that you know she was the mother so she left everything she has him she had several businesses.

[00:14:50] So when the story ends the eighth wife knocked on the door and that's when I entered the store.

[00:15:00] Oh hell no.

[00:15:05] The ex-wife shows up trying to collect oh hell no.

[00:15:11] I don't know what that a collector because we've already been divorced so much better.

[00:15:18] Yeah she divorced him and moved on but she found out he came into all that money and showed better.

[00:15:26] See that's the kind of woman you leave behind there no cliffhanger there I know there's a cliffhanger like what's he going to do but from a man's point of view

[00:15:40] you're ready to divorce me what the hell you want now.

[00:15:45] Right what do you want yeah what the hell do you want like you've already divorced me no.

[00:15:53] See that the first the first story when the big says it's a follow up to that store so yeah.

[00:16:00] So talk me what inspired you to write like this?

[00:16:04] To be honest when I when I was young I was five years old I've been writing to those right.

[00:16:09] And it started off me writing like about feelings you know somebody hurt me or if I was happy or or something like that said so I would share around a book set with a pencil and in a notebook everywhere I went.

[00:16:23] And it just started like journal and basically I love poetry I would get on my stuff in a fortune concept I will publish a few poems here and there but at the years rolled around I started publishing books but I didn't know that it was the disease it was until I got to this point.

[00:16:43] I can't get a lot of money to publish but really speaking though so I want a couple more to book I have three four collections out there but the short stories I really feel like that is where is it.

[00:17:00] Yeah that's that's my age I think I'm going to stick with the short story of collection.

[00:17:06] As you should you know I found your next year to the guy got these club hangers leaving people wanting more I wrote what they died if it ain't broke don't fix you got a role with it.

[00:17:17] Exactly exactly but I do have a autobiography another autobiography as well but I don't think I'm going to still do some more autobiography but I'm probably going to stick more with the short story of collection made me wait maybe I know the two years before I brought them up.

[00:17:33] That that ladies and gentlemen this is the look at talk podcast if you don't know now you know I sound a whole lot better when you have some look at your hand so go get you some liquor and please subscribe to this podcast on my podcast spot a fight I heart radio youtube wherever you get your podcast that ladies and gentlemen often they can close checking in with us are now how did you go from.

[00:17:58] Being a writer to all the way to transition into having a podcast.

[00:18:04] Well initially um me starting to talk and my thing was to okay I'm an author would better wait to advertise myself than do my own talk.

[00:18:16] I mean so that was an initial thing I thought okay I can advertise myself and I can advertise others as well and we can always.

[00:18:26] Now have you thought about doing some podcast segments where you're reading the stories as how they should sound from the authors from the authors hand to your voice.

[00:18:40] Well actually um next weekend I'm supposed to be going to Atlanta to actually record my home to put on after music so I'm already working on that but on open mic night so I would do some spoken word as well.

[00:18:55] Every Saturday.

[00:18:58] So what's the biggest inspiration behind your spoken word what do you want people and what do you want people to get from your spoken word poems.

[00:19:06] Well the poems I have in my poetry collections is basically about my life things I went through and I hope that someone out there can relate to it impossibly know that there's light at the end of the tunnel everything's gonna be okay.

[00:19:23] That's real um definitely more stories like that in the world now what is your message to up and coming writers and up and coming bloggers of course up and coming to storytellers who are looking for that way to get started or they want to get started but there has 10 what is like your biggest piece of advice to them.

[00:19:47] Well the first thing is to start whatever you're trying to do don't procrastinate on time does not we don't anybody before you know what tomorrow going to be here next year is gonna be here and you're still going to be standing in the same spot as you just don't start.

[00:20:04] You have to network with people you have to find a place because that's what I do didn't marine anything I need to know about a pocket i'm trying to be with her to find if i'm on the right track or if it's something else I need to do so it's important to connect with people that you don't know not always about who you know it's about who you don't know that's going to actually help you get where you want to be or we need.

[00:20:29] May you just drop some bars right there because when I first was starting on this podcast and thing I really wanted to fill in the support or the guidance but once I started tapping in with people that's not in my city i'm not knocking the people in my city obviously I love for them but.

[00:20:50] There weren't really podcast that looked like me you telling you hey you can do this and you need to do this you need to do that or show you different ways to you know figure out how to get more guests on because one thing I found is people in other places will support you faster than people were yet.

[00:21:14] Absolutely I agree.

[00:21:17] It's the same case but you know there's nothing you can do about it but you just got to embrace that support now talk about your growth and what ways you fight this creative journey has helped you grow as a person.

[00:21:30] I feel that me as a person with this podcast I used to be very quiet very quiet in my show didn't bother people but this podcast is actually breaking my voice the life so every day that I get behind this mic.

[00:21:46] It's the hands of me is making me grow more because now I'm able to communicate more I'm able to talk to people that I don't know and I'm not shy anymore so I think that's broke for me anybody knows me I'm not this type of person just get up and talk on the podcast.

[00:22:03] Listen I definitely felt that because people that knew me in college they knew I was this big introverted man that was very super introverted but it took years for me to develop my voice.

[00:22:16] I felt this voice to get on a mic like it's nothing to get on a mic with people I don't even know like it's nothing it takes years to develop so I definitely felt that.

[00:22:27] Exactly it takes strength to encourage.

[00:22:31] Yes it does you don't get to where I'm at with you know saying just encourage or where you're at with just our strength or what we can do is just take some morals behind it you know saying it takes us pushing through some things.

[00:22:46] Right ladies and gentlemen this is Lika talk once again go ahead subscribe support all right now we're going to talk about the mess you know I'm saying we got to get to I'll give you one messy thing to talk about before we get out of here and I'm not gonna on this episode when I keep y'all along on this episode but there's been a series of tick tocks that I've know y'all seen that y'all seen last month.

[00:23:11] The somebody name Reese but she released 50 tick tocks of

[00:23:19] a basically not knowing who she was about to marry and this was a whole series that swept everybody like so it got me to wonder how do you be with somebody yet you don't do your homework on them what do you think.

[00:23:40] I mean yeah I'm never hurting anything like that before in my life. I'm the old school type I have to know you know we got to get to know each other I can't give it to nothing like that that's crazy how does he not know.

[00:23:53] Yeah that's the one thing I'm watching your stories and I'm like how did you not know all these things about this man before you said I do to him like because marriage is a lifetime commitment and the championship

[00:24:07] it is a lifetime commitment you are committed to this person for the rest of your life to the death do you part and like because I know me like before I offer a woman a rock we got I gotta see you well and all four seasons I gotta see you when you're happy when you're sad when things are going right when you're down that I need to see it all before I give you the ring.

[00:24:34] And I know for ladies you'll need to see us too because men are good men and women are both good at hiding shit that don't need to be found out that if you do your homework you can find out it's crazy.

[00:24:48] But that's about the same thing what is that that's still they have married first sight yeah so they don't know anything about each other then marriage of that the first sight of each other like they haven't even lived together.

[00:25:02] Now see that's the TV show that they don't know that but this is a woman that you are here being with this man and you get serious with this man for months leading up to the marriage but you don't have this stuff and now you don't drop all these tic-tocs you got air of America's attention it's crazy.

[00:25:22] She probably is going to attention. That's all that it is.

[00:25:28] You know what I know sometimes I think there's a lot of people they just won't attention and I'm just like what? It ain't paying your bills.

[00:25:39] Right.

[00:25:41] But how do you properly vet somebody like do you need to be running the background shake or do you need to ask the right questions what is it like what you think people do.

[00:25:52] You don't need to do before they really lock in with somebody.

[00:25:57] I don't know anymore because you know they can different people are not it's not like it used to be now you might have to run that background shake because you don't know if you could be hiding secrets you know they're criminal, they're credit jacked up you know today is different from back in the day you know sitting down with you know each other for a couple of months or so and then we're going to love getting married but it was tougher for me back then.

[00:26:20] Now if I don't have to get out there again I'm married I'm in married I'll be married nine years next week so I don't know how we're at.

[00:26:29] I probably single listen you are blessed to be married listen this is as a single person I'm telling everybody relationships y'all better fight to the the wills fall of the state never lose you because any shit out here people are scamming they lying.

[00:26:47] There's nothing worth being single over again so my people relationships you're blessed I need you you married that person you stayed with that person for a reason I need you to fight that thing out.

[00:27:01] Has to move out agree agreeing and not there.

[00:27:05] It's not there and also people you need to be doing your research on these people nowadays because nobody is what they seem then it's just it's crazy.

[00:27:17] Now could you see yourself writing a kind of story like that you know inspired by the mess that goes on today.

[00:27:26] That that that's a good one I might not do that do a story collection about that because it's a lot of stuff and can't finish in it's a lot of stuff people do I have ghost and people so that's my deal good thing to do.

[00:27:39] Yes I will I will tell you I would definitely look into taping into the message side of things because that is just it's crazy it's little Chris out here but what you got to deal with and stuff so I would definitely look into that if I were you.

[00:27:56] Definitely that's the good idea I'm not that I'm at the room that.

[00:28:01] As you should now tell me when now when does the book when is this the next next book launch and and also what are you looking forward to with the podcast launching.

[00:28:14] Well the next book like I said supposed to be when love is on the same day the podcast launches but like I said we got to see how we can go with that hopefully I can close it with everything going on with the podcast I've been real real big.

[00:28:29] I hope on the podcast launch day everybody to move in because I'm doing my first debate that day on launch and what is my birthday got my kind of supporting time in.

[00:28:41] So hopefully everybody time in and let me talk to them we're going to go back and forth and do a debate with with my lease we're back and forth is Barbie a role model for younger of the topic so I'm hoping people time in give their opinions.

[00:28:57] You say it's Barbie good role model for them for younger.

[00:29:02] I would nowadays just as a man's point of view I don't know early prediction would be a better now days why would be a decent role model compared to these female rappers and females on social media and stuff.

[00:29:23] Or a good role model be actually a strong woman in your family that's that's the real model but you know let's be back in the day you know Barbie you know was this any lady you know what I'm here and everybody wanted to be small like her but now Barbie is more versatile you have plus side Barbie you have

[00:29:42] will tell you have the doctor's you know she was always about career you know you're in a career get the career so to me Barbie is different today but she's going to be against me.

[00:29:53] So quick questions my ex they want to know Barbie the movie or Barbie the actual doll.

[00:30:02] Okay yeah because I didn't see the Barbie action movie because I'm a man what the hell am I going to watch the bar move for I ain't got no daughter is you know so I guess somebody wonder no but they do create those nowadays.
