00:00:00 --> 00:00:12 Music.
00:00:11 --> 00:00:19 All right, y'all, get ready for another edition of News and Trends with your host, Dave and Lynn.
00:00:29 --> 00:00:32 Welcome, welcome, welcome to News and Trends with Dave and Lynn.
00:00:32 --> 00:00:36 This is one of your hosts, Mr. David Coker, proprietor of Dave Mark,
00:00:36 --> 00:00:40 Inc., promoter, event planner, and all-around good guy.
00:00:41 --> 00:00:45 I'm hanging out with my partner, Mr. Leonard Young. What's going on, sir?
00:00:45 --> 00:00:49 Hey, Dave. Everything is good. This is Leonard Young, CEO of National Black
00:00:49 --> 00:00:54 Guy, Delaware Black Doc, Black Media Specialist and all-around good guy.
00:00:55 --> 00:00:56 How's everything going, Dave?
00:00:57 --> 00:00:58 All right. I can't complain.
00:01:00 --> 00:01:07 I guess we're bracing ourselves for another wintry type of week.
00:01:07 --> 00:01:12 Oh, yeah. Yeah, which is so crazy because the weather's been up and down.
00:01:13 --> 00:01:19 You know, we've had 50-degree days and 30-degree days, so it's interesting.
00:01:20 --> 00:01:26 So, but, you know, but, you know, as long as we don't have the blizzard of—
00:01:26 --> 00:01:30 it's funny because it's come up a lot this week over the last couple weeks,
00:01:30 --> 00:01:33 the blizzard of 96 when we had those 30-inch days. Oh, yeah.
00:01:33 --> 00:01:37 I do remember that. Yeah, I think everybody remembers that.
00:01:38 --> 00:01:41 So as long as we don't have anything like that. But, you know,
00:01:41 --> 00:01:45 Punxsutawney Field came out the other day and said, we got six more weeks.
00:01:45 --> 00:01:48 So that ain't good. That ain't good. I know.
00:01:49 --> 00:01:55 But I think human nature, because there was a report that was on not too long
00:01:55 --> 00:02:00 ago that said like 21 states will get like,
00:02:01 --> 00:02:05 there's supposed to be like 15 snowstorms that are supposed to come through
00:02:05 --> 00:02:08 those states over the next couple of weeks.
00:02:09 --> 00:02:15 Oh, wow. Yeah. I mean. All right. And then, you know, I'm going to say half
00:02:15 --> 00:02:18 of them states will probably be states that don't even get snowed like Florida,
00:02:18 --> 00:02:20 Alabama, Mississippi, New Orleans, Texas.
00:02:21 --> 00:02:25 Yeah. I mean, you know, it even snowed in California in some places.
00:02:26 --> 00:02:30 So, I mean, you know, it wasn't in, you know, the Los Angeles area,
00:02:30 --> 00:02:33 of course, where all the stuff was going on.
00:02:34 --> 00:02:38 But, man, I tell you, it's just kind of crazy right now.
00:02:39 --> 00:02:43 The world's a crazy place right now, Leonard. It really is.
00:02:43 --> 00:02:45 We got so much going on.
00:02:47 --> 00:02:52 We have to apologize, folks, because we didn't get a chance to talk with you guys last weekend.
00:02:53 --> 00:02:59 Just in the last week to 10 days, so many things have happened. It's unbelievable.
00:03:00 --> 00:03:04 You know, before we get into our stories, just to touch on a few things.
00:03:04 --> 00:03:10 Of course, we had the fires out there in Los Angeles, you know,
00:03:11 --> 00:03:12 of course, praying for those families.
00:03:13 --> 00:03:14 You know, I'm surprised.
00:03:16 --> 00:03:21 I guess it's good that the fire department and the first responders and everything
00:03:21 --> 00:03:22 reacted the way they did.
00:03:22 --> 00:03:27 Because considering all that happened there and all that was lost,
00:03:27 --> 00:03:30 not many lives were lost. And that's good.
00:03:31 --> 00:03:36 That's really a good thing. And of course, we feel bad for those who did lose
00:03:36 --> 00:03:38 their lives and the families that did lose loved ones.
00:03:38 --> 00:03:43 But it could have been a lot, a lot worse. So...
00:03:45 --> 00:03:49 Thank God they were able to get those. But there were a lot of celebrities,
00:03:49 --> 00:03:52 a lot of people who lost things.
00:03:52 --> 00:03:53 I mean, you know.
00:03:54 --> 00:03:59 And, you know, it's a shame, too, because, you know, we also heard about all
00:03:59 --> 00:04:02 the people who were dropped from insurance companies prior to the fire.
00:04:03 --> 00:04:08 Yeah, because insurance companies. And then I saw something today saying that
00:04:08 --> 00:04:13 State Farm was saying that they didn't have enough money or,
00:04:13 --> 00:04:16 you know, they were financially struggling to pay out all these claims.
00:04:17 --> 00:04:22 Yeah. Well, State Farm was like one of the main companies that was dropping people, you know.
00:04:22 --> 00:04:27 Right. Because, you know, apparently they said that there was some type of tip
00:04:27 --> 00:04:30 once the fire started, you know.
00:04:30 --> 00:04:36 Because apparently, from what I had heard from a couple different news things
00:04:36 --> 00:04:41 I was looking at, they kind of knew when the fires started.
00:04:41 --> 00:04:45 And the insurance companies, when they started seeing that the fires were spreading,
00:04:45 --> 00:04:49 the insurance companies started dropping people right away. Yeah, that's crazy.
00:04:50 --> 00:04:56 Because they knew, you know, I mean, keep in mind, didn't they have wildfires in California?
00:04:56 --> 00:05:00 Was it last year or the year before? Yeah, I mean, it almost seems like every
00:05:00 --> 00:05:08 year was just not this big Yeah, and so I think they were still trying to recover from that You know.
00:05:09 --> 00:05:16 And it just adds, I mean, to what we've been saying all these years About insurance being such a racket,
00:05:17 --> 00:05:23 Because when you do have a big thing to happen like this They don't want to
00:05:23 --> 00:05:25 pay You know, they take your money.
00:05:27 --> 00:05:29 But they don't necessarily all the time want to pay.
00:05:30 --> 00:05:37 And it's really unfortunate for a lot of these people who have lost their whole
00:05:37 --> 00:05:40 lives, basically, as far as their homes and everything are concerned.
00:05:42 --> 00:05:51 Then we had we had that going on then we've had these interesting and crazy crashes in the air,
00:05:52 --> 00:05:58 with planes and and i mean you know we had plane in the helicopter the crash
00:05:58 --> 00:06:05 last week and then a day or two later plane falls out of the air on the way to mexico to,
00:06:06 --> 00:06:12 with a young girl who had been treated here and was on our way home.
00:06:13 --> 00:06:15 And the plane just fell out of the sky.
00:06:16 --> 00:06:23 Now, Leonard, didn't your first thought, did you see the video of how that plane dropped? I did.
00:06:24 --> 00:06:29 Didn't it seem like it was shot down? Yeah, I mean, it was definitely weird.
00:06:29 --> 00:06:31 You know, I mean, it wasn't.
00:06:32 --> 00:06:37 It didn't look like what I thought a normal. And I mean, unfortunately,
00:06:37 --> 00:06:40 there's no normal plane crash. But right.
00:06:41 --> 00:06:45 I mean, you know, it's it looked different. But, you know, of course,
00:06:45 --> 00:06:48 nobody's been saying that. So I didn't want to speculate that.
00:06:48 --> 00:06:54 Yeah, I know. I mean, of course. And yes, folks, that's true. Nobody has said that.
00:06:55 --> 00:06:58 But there has been people who have made.
00:07:00 --> 00:07:03 Who have alluded to it like something weird
00:07:03 --> 00:07:07 that was really weird the way the trajectory
00:07:07 --> 00:07:10 of that train i mean that plane just falling
00:07:10 --> 00:07:14 out of the sky it's happening and where it landed that
00:07:14 --> 00:07:17 was another thing because the plane basically had just taken off
00:07:17 --> 00:07:19 to go to mexico and then all of a sudden
00:07:19 --> 00:07:22 it falls out the sky and even with the
00:07:22 --> 00:07:26 the helicopter and the plane a couple days before that
00:07:26 --> 00:07:29 that was weird too yeah definitely
00:07:29 --> 00:07:32 weird i mean you know
00:07:32 --> 00:07:35 that happened in the dc area and you know had
00:07:35 --> 00:07:38 the plane that dropped out of the sky of course everybody knows what's
00:07:38 --> 00:07:45 up in the philadelphia area but you know of course anytime you have anything
00:07:45 --> 00:07:52 that happened in those facilities it's hard not to think about you know terrorism
00:07:52 --> 00:07:56 there is because of what happened back in 9-11, you know?
00:07:57 --> 00:08:01 Because it was kind of basically the same territory, you know?
00:08:01 --> 00:08:07 I mean, you know, with the other territory being New York, but DC had a plane
00:08:07 --> 00:08:11 to fall out of the sky back then, too? Right. So...
00:08:12 --> 00:08:17 So it's just a lot going on. And yesterday, I was on my way to work.
00:08:17 --> 00:08:20 I started seeing those streaks in the sky again with the drones.
00:08:20 --> 00:08:26 Oh, wow. The drones again. And remember, you know, I told you about that a couple
00:08:26 --> 00:08:30 months ago about these things, these streaks I was seeing in the sky first thing.
00:08:30 --> 00:08:34 And, like, I hadn't seen any in a while, but yesterday, no, Monday,
00:08:34 --> 00:08:35 that was Monday morning.
00:08:36 --> 00:08:39 Monday morning, I was on my way to work. I was talking to one of my coworkers
00:08:39 --> 00:08:43 on the phone, and I just got quiet. And I said, there's those streaks again.
00:08:44 --> 00:08:48 And you couldn't, you know, you could see, you know, you know how when they
00:08:48 --> 00:08:50 do the sky writing, they have the smoke that comes.
00:08:52 --> 00:08:55 And that's all I kept seeing was the smoke. And I was like, but you couldn't
00:08:55 --> 00:08:59 see the vehicles, you know, with them.
00:09:00 --> 00:09:04 And that's why I said, are those drones or what? Right.
00:09:04 --> 00:09:10 And this is like seven or seven in the morning because I was on my way to work.
00:09:10 --> 00:09:11 Yeah, it's about 7 o'clock in the morning.
00:09:12 --> 00:09:16 So just a lot of strange things going on, folks.
00:09:16 --> 00:09:21 I mean, you know, I know we're just in a really weird place.
00:09:22 --> 00:09:24 More things, more weird things to go on.
00:09:25 --> 00:09:30 Our new president gets into office and starts freezing everything and trying
00:09:30 --> 00:09:36 to get rid of everything. And, you know, he's got he put people on furlough
00:09:36 --> 00:09:40 and with pay and with from the federal government.
00:09:40 --> 00:09:46 You have people from Homeland Security, people from IRS. You have people from,
00:09:46 --> 00:09:53 I mean, just different branches of the federal government. And he's just telling them, hey, look.
00:09:54 --> 00:10:01 You guys, you know, we're going to put you on, well, basically on like a furlough type situation.
00:10:01 --> 00:10:03 You're going to get paid for now.
00:10:03 --> 00:10:06 We just got to figure out what we're going to do with you later.
00:10:06 --> 00:10:10 And then all of a sudden, you start trying to freeze all these different programs,
00:10:10 --> 00:10:13 federal programs and grants and stuff.
00:10:14 --> 00:10:20 You know, thank God some, you know, Congress stood up to them and said, hey, you can't do that.
00:10:21 --> 00:10:25 I mean, what were you thinking when you heard all this? Yeah,
00:10:25 --> 00:10:30 I mean, well, you know, I heard someone say yesterday, and I kind of believe it, smoke and mirrors.
00:10:31 --> 00:10:34 You know, he's throwing so much stuff at us every day.
00:10:35 --> 00:10:38 Is something happening behind the scenes that we're not even realizing?
00:10:38 --> 00:10:43 Because we're worried about the DEI and the transgender and the legal immigrants.
00:10:44 --> 00:10:45 That was where I was going to go next.
00:10:46 --> 00:10:52 But, you know, I mean, you know, we all we all heard them talk about the project
00:10:52 --> 00:10:57 2025 and how the whole thing was set up to give him more power than he's ever
00:10:57 --> 00:11:00 had, than the office has ever had.
00:11:00 --> 00:11:05 And it just seems to be that that's exactly what he's trying to do.
00:11:05 --> 00:11:08 He's almost trying to build a dictatorship right now.
00:11:08 --> 00:11:14 That's the way it feels like he's trying to be a dictator. and up there talking
00:11:14 --> 00:11:17 about trying to make Canada the 51st state.
00:11:17 --> 00:11:19 How are you going to make Canada the 51st state? I know. Right.
00:11:21 --> 00:11:24 Or the Gulf of America.
00:11:25 --> 00:11:31 And Dave, I don't know if you heard what he said about the Gaza Strip that he said today.
00:11:32 --> 00:11:39 They want to kick all the Palestinians out of the Gaza Strip or move them out,
00:11:40 --> 00:11:44 and they're going to develop it into like a luxury tourist.
00:11:44 --> 00:11:46 And I was like, oh my goodness.
00:11:47 --> 00:11:50 That's why he got all those billionaires. That's why he got all of them.
00:11:51 --> 00:11:54 He's definitely going to start some wars. Yeah, he's going to start.
00:11:54 --> 00:11:58 And then did you hear about how he was trying to get Ecuador to take,
00:11:58 --> 00:12:03 make a deal with Ecuador to move some Americans, move some of these immigrants
00:12:03 --> 00:12:05 there? Did you hear about that?
00:12:06 --> 00:12:12 Oh, no, I did. I did. Yeah. Yeah, I mean, unbelievable.
00:12:12 --> 00:12:16 I mean, a lot of this stuff is unbelievable, man.
00:12:16 --> 00:12:23 I really feel that we're really in a lot of trouble. We really are.
00:12:23 --> 00:12:30 I mean, have you looked at your electric bill? And not all fees.
00:12:31 --> 00:12:38 Yeah. Well, you know, people are going nuts because the electric Delmarva has raised its rates.
00:12:38 --> 00:12:43 And people are having, you know, you're paying for the actual service,
00:12:44 --> 00:12:45 the electric and everything.
00:12:45 --> 00:12:51 But then they're charging an extra fee and calling it a delivery or a supply fee. Oh, wow.
00:12:52 --> 00:12:56 Yeah. I mean, things are just so out of whack right now, man.
00:12:57 --> 00:13:00 And then, you know, you just kind of touched on it.
00:13:00 --> 00:13:05 You know, of course, he was trying to vanquish all of the DEI programs.
00:13:05 --> 00:13:11 And then, you know, you got the DEIs being pulled out of stores and the stores
00:13:11 --> 00:13:18 that everybody deal with, even, you know, our favorite place to shop online, Amazon, and, you know,
00:13:18 --> 00:13:23 all these people pulling all these merchandise out of places.
00:13:23 --> 00:13:26 And then getting rid of people who are working for him as well.
00:13:26 --> 00:13:32 But I read an article recently that said that, you know, he's trying to hurt people.
00:13:33 --> 00:13:36 Well, I don't know if I should say hurt, but he's trying, you know,
00:13:36 --> 00:13:42 he's targeting these DEI programs because he figures that a lot of them had
00:13:42 --> 00:13:45 to deal with, you know, people of color.
00:13:46 --> 00:13:50 But it's affecting more whites than blacks.
00:13:51 --> 00:13:56 Yeah. And I don't even think they realize that, you know.
00:13:56 --> 00:14:02 And so it's, folks, you know, I mean, you know, we missed our show last week.
00:14:02 --> 00:14:03 We didn't get a chance to talk to you guys.
00:14:04 --> 00:14:08 But just right now, every day we're talking about something new.
00:14:08 --> 00:14:14 It's something new going on. And it's just so crazy right now.
00:14:14 --> 00:14:18 And just kind of wanted to touch on a few things before we got into our show.
00:14:19 --> 00:14:24 Oh, you know, on a different note, you know, we had the Grammys on Sunday.
00:14:25 --> 00:14:28 And the two big winners and Beyonce
00:14:28 --> 00:14:32 finally got her album of the year award and then
00:14:32 --> 00:14:35 she won best country album of course
00:14:35 --> 00:14:38 a lot of people are saying that the academy you
00:14:38 --> 00:14:41 know was not going to let this year go by
00:14:41 --> 00:14:44 without getting her right or so you know
00:14:44 --> 00:14:47 but there was definitely i don't know if you saw did
00:14:47 --> 00:14:49 you did you see any other shows did you see when she got her
00:14:49 --> 00:14:53 awards yeah i i saw her initial reaction
00:14:53 --> 00:14:55 there yeah and did you see like the
00:14:55 --> 00:14:58 interaction between her and her husband that that's what everybody's talking
00:14:58 --> 00:15:04 about you know like she it wasn't you could tell there's something going on
00:15:04 --> 00:15:10 there yeah the body language was way off there everybody's talking about their
00:15:10 --> 00:15:15 body language so then you got kanye walking around with his naked oh my god
00:15:15 --> 00:15:18 yeah that was crazy that That was crazy.
00:15:18 --> 00:15:24 And for the first time, you could actually see that she was kind of bucking
00:15:24 --> 00:15:26 on the situation. Did you see when.
00:15:28 --> 00:15:31 Did you see when she had the fur on and he told her to take it off and she kind
00:15:31 --> 00:15:34 of hesitantly took it off? Mm-hmm.
00:15:34 --> 00:15:40 Yeah, I did see that. And they said she said she didn't want to do it, but he told her to go hit.
00:15:40 --> 00:15:47 I just saw something today that said that he was going to lose $20 million.
00:15:49 --> 00:15:54 Because of that situation because he was supposed to perform in Tokyo.
00:15:54 --> 00:15:57 Uh-huh. and they told
00:15:57 --> 00:16:00 him because of what happened on
00:16:00 --> 00:16:03 the rear carpet with her and what he did with
00:16:03 --> 00:16:08 her had her wearing that outfit and so forth they didn't want him to perform
00:16:08 --> 00:16:13 oh wow what's what they you know we a little bit different than kanye that 20
00:16:13 --> 00:16:18 million dollars probably wasn't i know i know what it would be for us yeah that
00:16:18 --> 00:16:22 that's like one percent of his salary i mean what he makes.
00:16:22 --> 00:16:27 But I mean, mine is that, you know, I understand fashion and people pushing the limits.
00:16:28 --> 00:16:35 But, you know, there's something very, very weird about bringing like,
00:16:35 --> 00:16:37 why does he always want her to be naked?
00:16:37 --> 00:16:40 You know, she's always wearing these naked outfits.
00:16:41 --> 00:16:48 And I mean, Dave, this was the most naked of the, like, you can't get more naked than that.
00:16:48 --> 00:16:51 Other than naked. I mean, you really can.
00:16:52 --> 00:16:58 I mean, you know, she's always been pushing the envelope, and she really pushed it a lot that day.
00:16:58 --> 00:17:04 I mean, you can't push it any more than that. And he's always fully clothed. That's what's so funny.
00:17:05 --> 00:17:11 Has anybody checked on her? Like, is she a mental slave?
00:17:12 --> 00:17:15 I don't think anybody can get close enough to her.
00:17:16 --> 00:17:24 I really don't. I think he probably has her. I mean almost like his cult yeah,
00:17:25 --> 00:17:30 Something's going on there. Something's going. And she never looks happy.
00:17:30 --> 00:17:33 No, she never smiles. She never smiles. Does she talk?
00:17:34 --> 00:17:37 She does talk, but she doesn't talk a lot. Yeah.
00:17:38 --> 00:17:41 Because there was an interview. Somebody asked her a few questions.
00:17:41 --> 00:17:44 And she did answer the question, but she don't talk a lot.
00:17:45 --> 00:17:52 So, I mean, but that night, you know, we had Beyonce and, of course,
00:17:52 --> 00:17:56 Kendrick Lamar. and won all of his Grammys for Not Like Us.
00:17:57 --> 00:18:01 And that was really interesting because everybody's talking about how upset
00:18:01 --> 00:18:03 Drake was about the whole thing.
00:18:03 --> 00:18:07 So I tell you, it's just been really weird, man. There's a lot of weirdness going on.
00:18:08 --> 00:18:13 You kind of saw those two getting most of the awards that night anyway,
00:18:13 --> 00:18:16 because I mean, Not Like Us was the record of the year.
00:18:17 --> 00:18:19 I mean, you can't take that away from them. You really can't.
00:18:20 --> 00:18:23 I mean, what other record had a bigger impact than that one?
00:18:24 --> 00:18:27 You know, so. Except blow your whistle for the Eagles.
00:18:28 --> 00:18:38 You know, so. But anyway, so that was our little recap as far as what's happened
00:18:38 --> 00:18:41 over the last week since we last talked with you guys.
00:18:41 --> 00:18:44 Well, the last two weeks since we last talked with you guys.
00:18:46 --> 00:18:51 I kind of touched on a little bit of the first story that I wanted to talk about.
00:18:51 --> 00:18:55 But we can just say a little bit more about it.
00:18:55 --> 00:19:00 But I was going to ask you your opinion on this.
00:19:00 --> 00:19:06 And I'll just put it out like this. Donald Trump, the erasing of America.
00:19:07 --> 00:19:11 Do you think he's doing too much? Yes.
00:19:14 --> 00:19:19 All right. Well, what's your full thoughts on everything? I mean,
00:19:19 --> 00:19:24 we touched on some of the stuff that he's already done and the stuff that he's planning to do.
00:19:24 --> 00:19:28 So what's your thoughts on why you think that way?
00:19:29 --> 00:19:35 So my thoughts on it, and I mean, really, he does so much, I can't even remember,
00:19:35 --> 00:19:37 I can't even list all the points.
00:19:40 --> 00:19:43 But what I can say is that,
00:19:45 --> 00:19:50 I feel like, okay, well, okay, so let me start from the beginning.
00:19:50 --> 00:19:59 So I feel like his style of leadership is more of a dictator than a democracy.
00:19:59 --> 00:20:06 And I feel the biggest thing that comes to my mind offhand is that these people
00:20:06 --> 00:20:10 that he's appointing for these top positions are unqualified.
00:20:10 --> 00:20:13 Their pat not only you know educationally and
00:20:13 --> 00:20:18 experience but morality unqualified and
00:20:18 --> 00:20:23 he's kicking out you know top qualified people to bring in these unqualified
00:20:23 --> 00:20:29 people that's one two pretty much anything dealing with black people is getting
00:20:29 --> 00:20:34 rolled back they i don't know if you heard but next week they're calling for
00:20:34 --> 00:20:37 all african americans to report back to the plantation,
00:20:38 --> 00:20:43 and I think they said last names that begin with A to D are picking cotton.
00:20:44 --> 00:20:46 So just get ready.
00:20:47 --> 00:20:52 Get ready to go on back. Dave, all that stuff you'd be doing at work reading
00:20:52 --> 00:20:57 and writing, get rid of it because in about two weeks, you're not going to be
00:20:57 --> 00:21:00 allowed to sneak to read and write.
00:21:01 --> 00:21:03 We got AI, man. I don't need to do it.
00:21:04 --> 00:21:08 I get AI to read for me. Right. But yeah, I mean, long story short,
00:21:08 --> 00:21:10 I mean, he's doing a whole lot.
00:21:10 --> 00:21:14 And, you know, like I hear some people, well, you know, what about this? What about this?
00:21:14 --> 00:21:22 But it's like, I always think about the same people say a broken clock is correct twice a day.
00:21:23 --> 00:21:28 Yeah. You know, so anyway, long story short, I think what he's doing overall
00:21:28 --> 00:21:29 is a detriment to America.
00:21:30 --> 00:21:33 And I personally feel like the economy is going to be jacked up.
00:21:34 --> 00:21:38 Race relations are going to be jacked up and our international relationships
00:21:38 --> 00:21:39 are going to be jacked up.
00:21:39 --> 00:21:49 So I'm just curious how soon, you know, all these MAGA voters are going to start seeing the truth.
00:21:49 --> 00:21:55 Oh it's already coming out you see some of the people on on social media that
00:21:55 --> 00:22:00 have come out they were people who voted for Trump these young people and so
00:22:00 --> 00:22:05 forth that's a lot of young that 25 to 35 year old graphic,
00:22:06 --> 00:22:10 demographic who voted for him a lot of them are coming out and saying wow I
00:22:10 --> 00:22:15 didn't know he was going to do all of this yeah you know there was a thing,
00:22:16 --> 00:22:23 they are there was a story on reels and it was a picture of Kamala Harris with
00:22:23 --> 00:22:26 a sign in her hand saying, I told you.
00:22:27 --> 00:22:32 You know, so, you know, this is, you know, when I look at the,
00:22:32 --> 00:22:38 the racing of America, the cultural, I should have called it the cultural race,
00:22:38 --> 00:22:41 erasing of America. Cause that's all he's interested in.
00:22:42 --> 00:22:46 I mean, and things have gotten so bad. Did you see that it was Rosa Parks birthday?
00:22:46 --> 00:22:48 Did you see this thing, Rosa Parks' birthday?
00:22:49 --> 00:22:56 And they did something commemorating her birthday, and they had a seat on this
00:22:56 --> 00:23:00 bus that was left open, and it had a picture of her. I saw that.
00:23:00 --> 00:23:05 Yeah. And did you see that there was a white man that sat down in the seat?
00:23:05 --> 00:23:10 No, I did not see that. Yeah, well, there was a white guy that sat in the seat,
00:23:10 --> 00:23:16 and just totally disrespected what that was all about. Oh, wow.
00:23:17 --> 00:23:21 Yeah, yeah, mm-hmm, and they didn't show his face or whatever,
00:23:21 --> 00:23:24 but he definitely sat there, and it was a white woman sitting next to him.
00:23:26 --> 00:23:29 You know, all the places that they probably could have said,
00:23:30 --> 00:23:33 why there? Yeah. And especially there's a picture there. Yeah.
00:23:34 --> 00:23:37 Like, even if you don't know who Rosa Parks is, you know there's something a
00:23:37 --> 00:23:39 little bit different about this city.
00:23:39 --> 00:23:43 Yeah. Yeah. Why did they have this set up the way they do? Yeah.
00:23:43 --> 00:23:49 But, like I said, the cultural erasing of America.
00:23:49 --> 00:23:55 And then what about all the holidays that they want to try not to recognize anymore?
00:23:56 --> 00:23:59 You know, we just got Juneteenth. They're trying to get rid of it.
00:23:59 --> 00:24:04 Oh, I'm sure. Oh, MLK Day. They're trying to get rid of it.
00:24:04 --> 00:24:08 Any of the Hispanic holidays, they're trying to get rid of those.
00:24:09 --> 00:24:11 I mean, it's Black History Month.
00:24:12 --> 00:24:16 Well, we know they definitely want to get rid of that because they never really
00:24:16 --> 00:24:17 wanted us to have it anyway.
00:24:17 --> 00:24:20 That's why they gave us the month that had the shortest amount of days,
00:24:20 --> 00:24:23 shortest number of days in it. Well, Dave, hold on.
00:24:23 --> 00:24:28 You know, that's not true because we talked about that on a prior episode.
00:24:28 --> 00:24:32 Oh, about that not being original. Yeah, you remember it started a Black History
00:24:32 --> 00:24:33 Week. Yeah. Okay, all right.
00:24:34 --> 00:24:38 I know. But now they're talking about getting rid of it all together, you know.
00:24:39 --> 00:24:47 So, I mean, so it's just, we got a lot going on. And this guy that's heading
00:24:47 --> 00:24:53 up this country, you know, hanging out with his billionaire friends and, you know, Kanye.
00:24:53 --> 00:24:57 Did you hear about Kanye walking around with his MAGA hat up there talking about,
00:24:57 --> 00:25:01 man, I'm so glad that Trump is back. He said, now I'm back.
00:25:01 --> 00:25:05 He said, I'm back to being a millionaire, a billionaire again.
00:25:05 --> 00:25:09 Trump is back in office. Did you hear him talking about this? No, I didn't.
00:25:09 --> 00:25:13 Yeah, he definitely said that. He said, I'm a billionaire again because Trump is back in office.
00:25:15 --> 00:25:26 I tell you. All right, yeah. Craziness. It's really a dark place right now. It's really sad.
00:25:27 --> 00:25:33 We're in a day and time that's really... I feel bad for the young kids that
00:25:33 --> 00:25:37 are coming up because I don't know what's going to be left. I really don't.
00:25:37 --> 00:25:41 So, all right. That's enough talking about that.
00:25:43 --> 00:25:46 You know, it almost makes your head start hurt. Yeah, it does.
00:25:47 --> 00:25:51 It just makes you kind of puke.
00:25:51 --> 00:25:56 But then, you know, the next story is kind of fallout from some of the stuff
00:25:56 --> 00:25:59 that we were just talking about as far as Trump is concerned.
00:25:59 --> 00:26:04 Now, you know, this story is a little bit old because we didn't get a chance
00:26:04 --> 00:26:06 to talk about it last week, but I still wanted to talk about it.
00:26:06 --> 00:26:14 Everyone knows that Snoop performed at the Crypto Ball for the inauguration
00:26:14 --> 00:26:18 for President Trump. And...
00:26:20 --> 00:26:23 Course there was a lot of people that made comments
00:26:23 --> 00:26:26 about it and you know because snoop snoop
00:26:26 --> 00:26:29 had been everybody's boy you know i mean you
00:26:29 --> 00:26:34 know everybody everybody loves snoop right and then also snoop makes the decision
00:26:34 --> 00:26:40 to perform at this ball along with you know the well the inauguration weekend
00:26:40 --> 00:26:48 and everything along with nelly and soldier boy and who am i missing Nelly Soldier Boy,
00:26:49 --> 00:26:51 Snoop, somebody else.
00:26:52 --> 00:26:54 Rick Ross. Rick Ross. There you go.
00:26:54 --> 00:26:58 What a combination of people, too. Isn't that a strange group of people?
00:26:58 --> 00:27:03 That's probably, they, look, that's probably, you know, all the A-listers said
00:27:03 --> 00:27:05 no, well, except for Carrie Underwood.
00:27:07 --> 00:27:13 You know, but, I guess this is what they can get, you know, but he got these
00:27:13 --> 00:27:18 people to come out, and they, you know, you know, You don't know when you're being pimped out.
00:27:19 --> 00:27:24 Come on. Come on. Think about it. You would think that they would know that
00:27:24 --> 00:27:26 they were being singled out for a reason.
00:27:27 --> 00:27:30 You know, but of course, they got paid well.
00:27:32 --> 00:27:37 And Nelly tried to put a spin on him when they asked him why he was doing this.
00:27:37 --> 00:27:41 And he was saying, look, he said, it's an honor to perform for the president
00:27:41 --> 00:27:45 of the United States. He said, no other president called me. Ha ha ha,
00:27:47 --> 00:27:47 All right.
00:27:49 --> 00:27:52 Whatever. But I wanted to read. I wanted to read real quick.
00:27:53 --> 00:27:56 I wish that made sense. I mean, I understand.
00:27:56 --> 00:28:03 Well, no, I don't understand. But, you know, but I understand what he's saying,
00:28:03 --> 00:28:06 but it doesn't make any sense because.
00:28:06 --> 00:28:12 OK, so if if they were soon next week, we'll be back on the plantation.
00:28:12 --> 00:28:19 But when we get to the plantation, if Massa brings you up to perform in front
00:28:19 --> 00:28:22 of all the other slaves, that's not no honor.
00:28:23 --> 00:28:29 No, it's not. Yeah. I mean, really, you're tap dancing and, you know,
00:28:29 --> 00:28:32 shucking and jiving for Massa, not us.
00:28:32 --> 00:28:38 Well, that brings up the scene in Roots when Chicken George used to perform for the slaves.
00:28:38 --> 00:28:41 And you know even though he pretended
00:28:41 --> 00:28:44 like he like it he really didn't like doing it and
00:28:44 --> 00:28:47 they didn't you know but that was his you
00:28:47 --> 00:28:53 know his moment to to i guess do some releasing you know playing the fiddle
00:28:53 --> 00:28:58 and everything like that but you know but i mean nobody want to see that man
00:28:58 --> 00:29:03 nobody want to see that and especially people that we consider to be people
00:29:03 --> 00:29:05 that we really like and, you know,
00:29:06 --> 00:29:08 we kind of identified with.
00:29:08 --> 00:29:13 We had just gotten into talking about, we talked about Snoop how many times,
00:29:13 --> 00:29:16 you know, over the last year because of the Olympics and all of that stuff.
00:29:17 --> 00:29:20 Yeah, you know, him and Dre released a new album.
00:29:20 --> 00:29:23 I mean, there's been a lot of stuff going on. But anyway, let me just kind of
00:29:23 --> 00:29:27 give you a little thing about what happened with him.
00:29:27 --> 00:29:32 So he lost half a million social media followers after performing.
00:29:33 --> 00:29:37 Trump Crypto Ball. Now, keep in mind, it was like that 20 million that we just
00:29:37 --> 00:29:38 referenced talking about.
00:29:38 --> 00:29:42 Snoop has so many followers, you know, that's a drop in the bucket for him.
00:29:42 --> 00:29:47 But it's still a lot of people, you know, you know, both you and I together
00:29:47 --> 00:29:50 would love to have a million followers, you know, so.
00:29:50 --> 00:29:56 But it says famed rapper Snoop Dogg lost more than 500 followers on Instagram
00:29:56 --> 00:30:01 and nearly 20 on X after his appearance at the Crypto Ball.
00:30:01 --> 00:30:13 They said the singer's Instagram dropped by 571 and 17 on X,
00:30:14 --> 00:30:20 as fans accused Snoop of hypocrisy due to his past criticism of Trump.
00:30:20 --> 00:30:23 And we know there's there's a video that
00:30:23 --> 00:30:26 talks about how he back in
00:30:26 --> 00:30:29 2016 he was doing all this talking about people that
00:30:29 --> 00:30:31 perform about to perform and he
00:30:31 --> 00:30:35 said i wish one of y'all would you remember seeing that video i
00:30:35 --> 00:30:39 i do yeah one of y'all jigaboos yeah
00:30:39 --> 00:30:45 yeah you know and then he turns around and does it says snoop who boasts over
00:30:45 --> 00:30:50 88 million followers on instagram as of monday isn't the only A-list celebrity
00:30:50 --> 00:30:57 to have had followers abandon him in droves over perceived,
00:30:57 --> 00:30:59 hold on, let's see.
00:31:00 --> 00:31:04 Over perceived support for the Republicans' president.
00:31:05 --> 00:31:12 Kim Kardashian, the reality TV star and entrepreneur, lost nearly $150.
00:31:12 --> 00:31:16 Her people really love her, so $150 is nothing.
00:31:17 --> 00:31:24 And after she posted an image of First Lady Melania Trump wearing a stylish
00:31:24 --> 00:31:26 outfit at the inauguration.
00:31:27 --> 00:31:30 Now, these are some of the comments that people made. It says,
00:31:30 --> 00:31:33 shaking and crying as I unfollow Snoop on all platforms.
00:31:34 --> 00:31:38 One alienated fan wrote on X, adding a sad face.
00:31:38 --> 00:31:42 And then another one said, how could he turn on us? The fan wrote.
00:31:43 --> 00:31:48 Another Snoop fan said, got to unfollow anyone that performed for Trump.
00:31:49 --> 00:31:55 Love me some Snoop, but you got to go, bro. You know, another one said,
00:31:55 --> 00:32:02 Dan, I had to unfollow Snoop today, shaking my head. He broke my heart.
00:32:03 --> 00:32:09 They said in response to the criticism, Snoop addressed the issue on Instagram,
00:32:10 --> 00:32:15 stating, Y'all can't hate enough on me.
00:32:15 --> 00:32:18 I love too much. Still a black man.
00:32:18 --> 00:32:21 Still 100% black.
00:32:22 --> 00:32:28 And and and i disagree with that i'm sure could they i went to his uh his page
00:32:28 --> 00:32:33 yeah they when i say all the comment comment after and you know i think he was
00:32:33 --> 00:32:37 trying to do he was trying to post a lot of stuff to like you know bury stuff
00:32:37 --> 00:32:40 because you know he he was posting like four or five,
00:32:40 --> 00:32:45 posting how the things would disappear yeah and
00:32:45 --> 00:32:48 and i can't lie i mean let me know how you feel I
00:32:48 --> 00:32:51 now look at Snoop differently I do
00:32:51 --> 00:32:54 too I do you know I'm not a
00:32:54 --> 00:32:57 fan like I used to be and I don't
00:32:57 --> 00:33:02 know what that looks like in the future I don't dislike him but you know I just
00:33:02 --> 00:33:07 I look at him different and I may not be as supporting as I used to be yeah
00:33:07 --> 00:33:12 I feel the same way I feel the same way I mean you know you and I been talking
00:33:12 --> 00:33:17 about Snoop off and on especially over the last year we talked about him a lot and,
00:33:17 --> 00:33:19 you know, just talking about he was out there getting his paper,
00:33:20 --> 00:33:22 he was out there doing, you know, Snoop was everywhere.
00:33:23 --> 00:33:28 You know, everybody was feeling Snoop. Every time you turn on the TV, there was Snoop.
00:33:29 --> 00:33:35 But making a move like that, we saw other people get canceled for affiliations
00:33:35 --> 00:33:42 with Trump and his views and everything.
00:33:43 --> 00:33:46 And people, you know, definitely, career definitely changed.
00:33:46 --> 00:33:51 And Snoop, I'm sure, you know, his allegiance and so forth to Donald Trump has
00:33:51 --> 00:33:53 already cost him some things. I'm sure.
00:33:54 --> 00:34:00 Yeah, I'm sure. You know, now, of course, he has been careful not to say,
00:34:00 --> 00:34:05 you know, he's a follower of Trump or, you know, that he...
00:34:07 --> 00:34:11 You know, like, like Kanye is this, you know, blatantly, you know,
00:34:12 --> 00:34:15 I don't know if he's trolling people for real or whatever, but he's totally,
00:34:15 --> 00:34:21 you know, we know he sold out that way, you know, but Snoop hasn't come out and said that.
00:34:21 --> 00:34:26 But what else, what other reason would you have to make a move like that when
00:34:26 --> 00:34:27 you know it can hurt your career?
00:34:28 --> 00:34:31 It's all about the money. Of course, it's all about the money,
00:34:31 --> 00:34:37 you know, and then, you know, I'm sure Trump is probably off.
00:34:37 --> 00:34:41 You know, told him, hey, you do this for me.
00:34:41 --> 00:34:47 Because Snoop, if you think about it, it's probably top five entertainers in the world right now.
00:34:48 --> 00:34:52 Because he's, I mean, just, you know, because of everything he does.
00:34:54 --> 00:35:01 Well, so Donald Trump knew exactly what he was doing when he got Snoop to perform, you know.
00:35:01 --> 00:35:05 And Snoop was, they said Snoop was complaining the whole time that he was performing,
00:35:05 --> 00:35:06 but you still got that paper.
00:35:06 --> 00:35:17 He still did it Yeah he did Oh wow Yeah so But Folks You know There's an old axiom All money.
00:35:19 --> 00:35:24 Ain't good money No Yeah All money ain't good money Especially when it's Trump
00:35:24 --> 00:35:29 money Yep there you go There you go Alright So But,
00:35:29 --> 00:35:34 That's all I'm gonna say about Snoop right now I'm disappointed bro Really disappointed
00:35:34 --> 00:35:39 But You know I mean, you're still all right, but, you know, we watch you with
00:35:39 --> 00:35:41 the side eye now. We really are.
00:35:42 --> 00:35:45 You know, let's see what else you do. You know, so...
00:35:47 --> 00:35:51 You got a story there, right? Yeah, so Dave, this was an interesting story.
00:35:52 --> 00:35:55 I'm not sure if you've heard of Pastor Carlton Lynch.
00:35:56 --> 00:36:00 Why does that name sound familiar? And actually, I just saw the video today.
00:36:01 --> 00:36:08 So apparently, maybe a couple of days ago, of course, with the whole DEI rollback.
00:36:09 --> 00:36:13 Specifically with Target rolling back their DEI initiatives,
00:36:13 --> 00:36:20 is Pastor Jamal Bryant had mentioned something about specifically boycotting Target.
00:36:21 --> 00:36:27 So in this video that Pastor Carlton Lynch has, and I believe he's a pastor
00:36:27 --> 00:36:35 out of the Michigan area, possibly Detroit, he goes into Walmart and I'm sorry, I apologize.
00:36:35 --> 00:36:38 He goes into Target. he walks around
00:36:38 --> 00:36:41 the store with the cart he fills his
00:36:41 --> 00:36:43 cart up with items you know a lot
00:36:43 --> 00:36:48 of expensive items you know electronics and you
00:36:48 --> 00:36:52 know small kitchen appliances and you know all that stuff he loads up his cart
00:36:52 --> 00:36:59 he goes to the register and he's and i'm sorry while he's walking around target
00:36:59 --> 00:37:05 he's videotaping this whole thing and he's showing how empty target is and he's saying you No,
00:37:05 --> 00:37:08 of course, people are boycotting. So that's why Target is empty.
00:37:08 --> 00:37:14 So he loads up his cart with items and he gets to the register and they bring
00:37:14 --> 00:37:19 up his items and his items come up to about two thousand three hundred dollars.
00:37:21 --> 00:37:25 And when it's time to pay, he says to the girl, the register who was a white
00:37:25 --> 00:37:30 girl, he says, have you heard of DEI?
00:37:32 --> 00:37:36 And the girl's like, no, you know, I haven't heard of it. And he said,
00:37:36 --> 00:37:38 oh, OK. Well, he said, well, you know what?
00:37:39 --> 00:37:45 I was treated very badly today in the store, you know, this and that and, you know, whatever.
00:37:46 --> 00:37:51 And then he said, because of that reason, I'm not going to purchase any of these items.
00:37:51 --> 00:37:58 You know, you'll just have to, you know, restock them. And then he proceeds to walk out.
00:37:58 --> 00:38:06 Now, while he's walking out the store, he does say it's not enough that we just boycott Target.
00:38:06 --> 00:38:09 We have to inconvenience them as well.
00:38:10 --> 00:38:13 And, you know, Dave, to be honest, I kind of like what he did.
00:38:14 --> 00:38:15 You know, I wasn't mad at him.
00:38:16 --> 00:38:21 And the reason why I liked it is because, yes, we have to inconvenience him.
00:38:21 --> 00:38:25 And, yes, I mean, there are going to be black people who are still working at Target.
00:38:26 --> 00:38:30 But when we look at the greater overall picture, it's almost like,
00:38:30 --> 00:38:33 Dave, OK, so next week we're on the plantation, right?
00:38:34 --> 00:38:39 Some stuff that, and Dave, you already know you work. And you're really on the
00:38:39 --> 00:38:41 plantation, but go ahead. Yeah, yeah, yeah, right.
00:38:41 --> 00:38:44 Well, Dave, you know you're going to be working on the field,
00:38:44 --> 00:38:47 and depending on what type of time of year it is, I may be working on the field.
00:38:47 --> 00:38:50 I got to make sure they can eat. Yeah.
00:38:51 --> 00:38:55 But, you know, so next week when we're on the plantation, working,
00:38:55 --> 00:39:02 slaving in the sun, when we fight back for justice and the house Negroes say,
00:39:02 --> 00:39:05 well, why are you doing that? You're messing with our jobs.
00:39:05 --> 00:39:07 We're fighting for a greater purpose.
00:39:08 --> 00:39:11 So I felt like he was fighting for a greater purpose. And yes,
00:39:12 --> 00:39:14 there may be black people who have to restock that.
00:39:14 --> 00:39:16 There may be black people who lose their jobs.
00:39:17 --> 00:39:24 But at the end of the day, if we don't stand up for DE, well, I won't even say DEI.
00:39:24 --> 00:39:29 If we don't stand up for fairness overall, where everybody can be treated fair,
00:39:30 --> 00:39:33 then you know it doesn't i don't think it applies too
00:39:33 --> 00:39:36 much to the people who work there and all that but anyway i posted
00:39:36 --> 00:39:38 it on social media and there was a lot of
00:39:38 --> 00:39:41 backlash people were like oh why are you doing that that's
00:39:41 --> 00:39:47 dumb what about the black people who have to restock it so i was actually surprised
00:39:47 --> 00:39:51 and i understand the other points too but i'm just curious you know what's your
00:39:51 --> 00:39:57 thought do you think that was an effective strategy or do you feel like it might
00:39:57 --> 00:40:00 have been a waste of time And like one person says specifically.
00:40:01 --> 00:40:04 You know, just don't shop there. You don't got to do all the extra.
00:40:04 --> 00:40:06 Just don't shop there. Well, what are your thoughts?
00:40:07 --> 00:40:11 Well, it's interesting because, you know, that especially that last statement
00:40:11 --> 00:40:13 you just made, just don't shop there.
00:40:13 --> 00:40:18 Well, when you look at the stores that are mostly affected by this whole thing
00:40:18 --> 00:40:23 and the people, you know, the president and his cabinet and all that stuff.
00:40:23 --> 00:40:27 And when you look at this, are the stores that most people shop at.
00:40:28 --> 00:40:31 I mean, the places that people shop, Target, Walmart,
00:40:32 --> 00:40:40 Amazon, you know, these are places that make up mostly 90% of the shopping that's
00:40:40 --> 00:40:43 done, you know, retail shopping that's done.
00:40:43 --> 00:40:52 I said at least 85% or 90% of the shopping that's done is done in those three places, you know.
00:40:52 --> 00:40:56 And now you're talking about this DEI
00:40:56 --> 00:40:59 thing and people are telling you to boycott stuff
00:40:59 --> 00:41:02 and don't buy this and don't buy that and
00:41:02 --> 00:41:05 it's is is you know we're really at
00:41:05 --> 00:41:12 a place where what do we do I mean because you know you just said that how they
00:41:12 --> 00:41:16 were saying that the guy went into Walmart and they were saying I mean targeting
00:41:16 --> 00:41:23 saying that it wasn't that full because of course you know People are boycotting right now.
00:41:24 --> 00:41:29 But, you know, well, first of all, I was never really a Target fan because I've always felt...
00:41:30 --> 00:41:34 They were prejudiced. I've always felt that. Did you? Yeah, because I had this
00:41:34 --> 00:41:39 situation that happened to me in a Target store, and I don't think I've been back in one sense.
00:41:40 --> 00:41:47 Because, you know, the way the person made me feel, because I bought something for my youngest son.
00:41:48 --> 00:41:50 It was a video game system.
00:41:52 --> 00:41:59 And I got a couple games and got the system, went through the counter,
00:41:59 --> 00:42:01 gave me my card. My card didn't go through.
00:42:02 --> 00:42:05 I said, try it again, because, you know, it was my debit card,
00:42:05 --> 00:42:06 and I knew there was money on there.
00:42:07 --> 00:42:10 I said, try it again, because I knew there was money. You know,
00:42:10 --> 00:42:11 I said, it should go through.
00:42:11 --> 00:42:16 Now, keep in mind, this is going in December, busy season, Christmas.
00:42:17 --> 00:42:19 And actually, it was for my son's birthday.
00:42:21 --> 00:42:24 And try it again. Didn't go through.
00:42:24 --> 00:42:30 So the girl, you know, young white girl kind of gave me this look like,
00:42:30 --> 00:42:34 you know, you're wasting my time, so forth.
00:42:34 --> 00:42:38 And they only had like one other system on the shelf.
00:42:38 --> 00:42:43 And so I said, well, can you just hold it to the side till I find out what's going on?
00:42:43 --> 00:42:49 And then I hear this white guy standing. I'll take it because I need one of those systems.
00:42:50 --> 00:42:53 I'll take it and so forth and so forth. I said, you'll take,
00:42:53 --> 00:42:56 don't sell my stuff. I'll be back for it.
00:42:57 --> 00:43:02 And she just looked at me and said, whatever. Like that. She said,
00:43:02 --> 00:43:04 you don't have another card that will go through?
00:43:05 --> 00:43:10 That's what she said to me. I said, well, I want to make sure this one goes through.
00:43:11 --> 00:43:17 So I'll be back. So I stepped away. I made a phone call. Called the bank and
00:43:17 --> 00:43:18 they had put a block on the card.
00:43:19 --> 00:43:24 Because, you know, the amount wasn't something that I normally do,
00:43:24 --> 00:43:29 you know, and they thought it might have been fraud in court since that time
00:43:29 --> 00:43:34 of year, you know, and I was like, no, it's me, so forth and so forth,
00:43:35 --> 00:43:40 and can you hurry up and get this block off so I can go in and do what I have to do?
00:43:41 --> 00:43:46 So I go back. The guy who wanted the system has his hands on the system.
00:43:48 --> 00:43:54 Like he erased all it to him and i said i told you i was coming back i'm purchasing that,
00:43:55 --> 00:44:01 and because i went right to the the front of in front of him because i wasn't
00:44:01 --> 00:44:05 standing in line they had long lines too i wasn't standing back in line and
00:44:05 --> 00:44:09 i said i want this take my card run my car through.
00:44:11 --> 00:44:13 She did. It went through. And she's like, oh, went through that time.
00:44:14 --> 00:44:16 And I was like, I told you there was something going on.
00:44:17 --> 00:44:19 You know, I said, I wasn't sure what was happening.
00:44:19 --> 00:44:22 But can you put my stuff in the bag and let me get out of here?
00:44:22 --> 00:44:24 I never went back to that story again.
00:44:25 --> 00:44:30 All these years. It's been a long time. And but this is the way that we're being
00:44:30 --> 00:44:32 treated with these stories or whatever.
00:44:32 --> 00:44:37 When you when you look at all the Trump has who Trump has aligned himself with.
00:44:39 --> 00:44:42 And you know it really it's
00:44:42 --> 00:44:48 really bad right now because we have we could be doing we can be doing so many
00:44:48 --> 00:44:54 more things i saw the curries steph curry and his wife had to shut their store
00:44:54 --> 00:44:59 down i didn't know that yeah they had to shut their store down because of all that's going on,
00:45:00 --> 00:45:05 and people you know the a lot of people that have these specialty stores and
00:45:05 --> 00:45:08 especially those are people of color they're going to lose their businesses,
00:45:09 --> 00:45:16 you know because it's going to be hard to compete you know because it's already
00:45:16 --> 00:45:21 hard to compete with these with everybody ordering stuff online and.
00:45:22 --> 00:45:28 We know how that goes right now because that's it's very convenient to do that
00:45:28 --> 00:45:35 so but this that's basically my whole thoughts on on everything when it comes to that,
00:45:37 --> 00:45:40 we're just in a different place in time and unfortunately,
00:45:42 --> 00:45:47 and mainly it's because of the convenience of everything that people are doing where we are.
00:45:49 --> 00:45:56 That's where we are I mean so that's my thoughts on all of that you got any more on that?
00:45:56 --> 00:46:04 I mean I agree this is just where we are and now we see everyone who was not
00:46:04 --> 00:46:09 true to the cause They were only doing it because of the current state of emotions.
00:46:10 --> 00:46:14 Yep, exactly. That's a good way to put it. Exactly. Yes, I agree.
00:46:15 --> 00:46:21 So I'm going to move on to this next story because it's funny.
00:46:21 --> 00:46:26 We've been talking about DEI all this time and how it comes into play.
00:46:26 --> 00:46:28 It's basically coming into play with a lot of stuff right now.
00:46:29 --> 00:46:34 So this story also has something DEI tagged with it as well.
00:46:35 --> 00:46:40 But this is a positive one. It says, Air Force says it will teach videos on
00:46:40 --> 00:46:43 first black pilots after DEI review.
00:46:45 --> 00:46:49 And it says the United States Air Force on Sunday said that it will resume instructions
00:46:49 --> 00:46:55 of trainees using a video about the first black airman in the U.S.
00:46:55 --> 00:47:04 Military, known as the Tuskegee Airmen, which has passed reviews to ensure compliance
00:47:04 --> 00:47:08 with President Donald Trump's ban on diversity,
00:47:08 --> 00:47:11 equity, and inclusion initiatives.
00:47:11 --> 00:47:17 Trump, who took office in January, has prohibited DEI throughout the United
00:47:17 --> 00:47:19 States government and the U.S. military.
00:47:20 --> 00:47:26 New Defense Secretary Pete Haxson, who was sworn in on Friday,
00:47:26 --> 00:47:32 has made eliminating DEI from the military a top priority.
00:47:32 --> 00:47:38 It says Reuters reported on Saturday that the video about the Tuskegee Airmen,
00:47:38 --> 00:47:43 as well as another, about civilian women pilots trained by the U.S.
00:47:43 --> 00:47:51 Military during World War II, known as the Women Air Force Service Pilots, or WASP.
00:47:51 --> 00:47:54 Did you know that's what that stood for? No.
00:47:56 --> 00:48:01 I never knew. They might need to switch that up. I knew the term WASP,
00:48:01 --> 00:48:03 but I didn't know that's what that stood for, though.
00:48:03 --> 00:48:08 Yeah. Yeah, I did not know that. So that was something that I learned when I saw this article.
00:48:09 --> 00:48:16 We're not being taught in basic training at the joint base in San Antonio.
00:48:17 --> 00:48:22 The move was first reported by the San Antonio Express News.
00:48:22 --> 00:48:27 The Air Force on Sunday said that both videos will be taught.
00:48:27 --> 00:48:34 But no airmen or guardians will miss the block of instruction due to the revision.
00:48:34 --> 00:48:39 However, one group of trainees had the training delayed, said Lieutenant Brian
00:48:39 --> 00:48:44 Robinson, who led the Air Education and Training Command in that statement.
00:48:44 --> 00:48:52 The Tuskegee Airmen included 450 pilots who fought overseas in segregated units during World War II.
00:48:52 --> 00:48:58 Their success in combat helped pave the way for President Harry Truman's decision
00:48:58 --> 00:49:02 to desegregate the armed forces in 1948.
00:49:03 --> 00:49:07 It says DEI programs seek to promote opportunities for women,
00:49:07 --> 00:49:12 ethnic minorities, and other traditionally unrepresented groups.
00:49:14 --> 00:49:17 That's pretty cool. I mean, that they're using those videos to train.
00:49:18 --> 00:49:22 And hopefully they'll be able to continue to do that.
00:49:23 --> 00:49:27 Because, you know, they were a part of history.
00:49:28 --> 00:49:33 They can't erase it. They can't erase what those guys did. They tried for years.
00:49:33 --> 00:49:38 But those pilots went over and did those missions, you know,
00:49:39 --> 00:49:44 that we, first, they didn't think we were capable of being able.
00:49:44 --> 00:49:52 To do but then they did and they did it well you know so with minimum loss on top of it you know so.
00:49:54 --> 00:49:56 Yes that training video both of
00:49:56 --> 00:50:00 those training videos that they're using sure are
00:50:00 --> 00:50:03 great tools and you should be
00:50:03 --> 00:50:06 honored anybody who's who's watching
00:50:06 --> 00:50:09 those videos and learning under those videos should be honored to
00:50:09 --> 00:50:12 use to have those material that material being used
00:50:12 --> 00:50:19 in their training really that's that's awesome i i really feel i had an uncle
00:50:19 --> 00:50:25 that was a career air force air force guy he was a trainer later on in his life
00:50:25 --> 00:50:31 i'm sure i'm sure that's something he probably would have been jumping for joy about you know so,
00:50:33 --> 00:50:38 Any thoughts on that? No, I mean, I agree. I think you've done. You said it all.
00:50:39 --> 00:50:46 Yeah, okay. All right. So hats off to those two groups and for the WAPS and
00:50:46 --> 00:50:51 the Tuskegee Airmen. Okay. All right.
00:50:52 --> 00:50:59 Okay. So, wow. That actually brings us to your favorite part of the show, Dave.
00:50:59 --> 00:51:02 All right. Well, let's get ready to close out. Theme music it is, huh?
00:51:04 --> 00:51:08 Well, this is going to be fun Because I kind of switched it up I'm going to
00:51:08 --> 00:51:13 let you off the hook a little bit But I'm checking your black card again You know, here we go,
00:51:15 --> 00:51:21 So we're checking Leonard's black card So let's see if Leonard passes the test here,
00:51:22 --> 00:51:27 This one, Dave's Corner is saying Famous black sayings,
00:51:28 --> 00:51:31 And then I just said Let's see if Leonard gets to keep his black card,
00:51:31 --> 00:51:36 folks So what I'm going to do is I'm going to say the first part of a black
00:51:36 --> 00:51:37 saying, you have to finish it.
00:51:39 --> 00:51:44 Okay. Okay. You game? Okay. Here we go.
00:51:44 --> 00:51:50 Dave, I'm always game. Okay. Well, let's see how good you are at this thing. Okay.
00:51:51 --> 00:51:54 All right. You got your black card out? I do.
00:51:55 --> 00:52:00 Okay. All right. Nice and safe. Let's see if we can separate you from it. Okay. Okay. All right.
00:52:01 --> 00:52:03 First one. God is good?
00:52:03 --> 00:52:08 All the time. Okay, all right. You better get that one right before you get struck by life.
00:52:08 --> 00:52:12 Okay. All right. Here's the next one.
