00:00:35 --> 00:00:39 Now I'm part of the MBG Podcast Network.
00:00:39 --> 00:00:43 This is dave coker one of your hosts your favorite
00:00:43 --> 00:00:46 host by the way i figured i'd put that out there you know
00:00:46 --> 00:00:49 promoter event planner all around
00:00:49 --> 00:00:54 good guy hanging out with my partner the other host mr leonard young what's
00:00:54 --> 00:00:59 going on there hey dave everything is good this is leonard young ceo of national
00:00:59 --> 00:01:04 black guide delawareblack.com black media specialist all around good guy how
00:01:04 --> 00:01:07 goes it dave and I can't call it,
00:01:08 --> 00:01:10 it's starting to feel a lot like,
00:01:12 --> 00:01:16 I wasn't going to take Christmas but you know so.
00:01:18 --> 00:01:23 You know we got it's funny I was looking at the leaves the last show we did
00:01:23 --> 00:01:29 and the leaves were still not all the way brown they're brown now,
00:01:30 --> 00:01:33 you know they are definitely coming down they
00:01:33 --> 00:01:36 are definitely changing yeah yeah so they we
00:01:36 --> 00:01:39 we waiting for you to come down to the campground because uh they
00:01:39 --> 00:01:44 are coming down and yeah well you
00:01:44 --> 00:01:47 need one of them ride-along vacuum cleaners ride-along vacuum
00:01:47 --> 00:01:51 cleaners that you can do all of that stuff yeah well
00:01:51 --> 00:01:54 we you know it's funny we have this um norman left
00:01:54 --> 00:01:57 us this truck so we have this truck that's like a vacuum cleaner
00:01:57 --> 00:02:00 we had to hook it up to like another type of trailer
00:02:00 --> 00:02:05 and i mean it works good the only thing is like all the sticks and twigs get
00:02:05 --> 00:02:09 stuck in it so then you got to stop cleaning it out so last year we just did
00:02:09 --> 00:02:13 everything by hand we kind of like blow it into piles raked it up put it in
00:02:13 --> 00:02:19 um trash can and dumped it like deep in the woods but it was a lot.
00:02:20 --> 00:02:25 So, now, well, I guess you still got twigs and stuff in it, because after you
00:02:25 --> 00:02:30 put them in piles, you can use the truck to do it then, but then you got twigs
00:02:30 --> 00:02:33 in there. Yeah, yeah, yeah, they're still in there, so.
00:02:33 --> 00:02:40 You need one of the woodchipper trucks, like, uh. We do, yeah. Yeah, yeah, yeah, we do.
00:02:41 --> 00:02:44 Yeah, so, well, that must be a,
00:02:44 --> 00:02:50 how long does it take y'all to do the campground like that? Five months.
00:02:51 --> 00:02:55 Really yeah well i mean well basically what we do we just try to do it every
00:02:55 --> 00:03:00 once in a while so we don't come out and it'd be like eight inches of leaves you know i mean,
00:03:01 --> 00:03:07 yeah concentrate on the main areas or yeah i mean we'll rotate around because
00:03:07 --> 00:03:10 i mean you know some of the areas that have leaves they're not a priority you
00:03:10 --> 00:03:11 know it's kind of like you know
00:03:11 --> 00:03:15 summertime with your grass you know you'll cut it today and then you'll have
00:03:15 --> 00:03:20 to come out and cut it one month later or however you do with the grass and
00:03:20 --> 00:03:25 then another month later and then it'd be high and wish you had done more earlier.
00:03:27 --> 00:03:30 So one of those type of things.
00:03:32 --> 00:03:38 Anyway, I hate the old grass.
00:03:39 --> 00:03:45 It's funny, I remember growing up I had to cut grass every week and it always
00:03:45 --> 00:03:49 sucked because you skip a week and now it's like you don't even want to cut
00:03:49 --> 00:03:52 it no more because it got to the point that it's not even grass anymore.
00:03:53 --> 00:03:58 Now it's working. It's real work. Almost like a monster in there. Yeah.
00:03:59 --> 00:04:03 I told you not to let me grow. There you go.
00:04:04 --> 00:04:12 Yeah, well, it is what it is. Speaking you know, it got grass changing and all,
00:04:12 --> 00:04:17 leaves changing and everything and this the last couple days of daylight baby time, right?
00:04:20 --> 00:04:25 Is it this weekend? It's this weekend, man. You know, Dave, I have heard nothing
00:04:25 --> 00:04:26 about daylight saving time.
00:04:27 --> 00:04:33 You're the first person who I've heard anything from. It used to be a real big
00:04:33 --> 00:04:35 thing because you knew what it was coming.
00:04:35 --> 00:04:40 Because everybody either concentrated on losing an hour's sleep or gaining an hour's sleep.
00:04:40 --> 00:04:44 That's what everybody concentrated on. now because people
00:04:44 --> 00:04:48 i think what it is is people get people get
00:04:48 --> 00:04:51 so pissed off about it now because they
00:04:51 --> 00:04:54 do they do because you know they can't make
00:04:54 --> 00:04:57 up their mind what they want to do about it they keep saying all this stuff
00:04:57 --> 00:05:01 about it about changing and stop
00:05:01 --> 00:05:04 doing you know stop changing the the time
00:05:04 --> 00:05:07 and everything but then they keep voting it
00:05:07 --> 00:05:11 down so i mean it just doesn't make any sense but
00:05:11 --> 00:05:14 one good thing about when the time does
00:05:14 --> 00:05:20 change like the seasons just seem to go by so fast anymore that it doesn't it
00:05:20 --> 00:05:26 seemed like you know six weeks later we're back to you know winter's over you
00:05:26 --> 00:05:32 know that type of thing you know so even though here again they're predicting a harsh winter,
00:05:33 --> 00:05:37 Yeah, that ain't good. Yeah, well, I guess it's not for you down there, right?
00:05:38 --> 00:05:44 Yeah, yeah. Well, you know, Dave, the older I get too, now I understand why
00:05:44 --> 00:05:48 they say snowbirds, people go, you know, Florida and stuff. Yeah.
00:05:48 --> 00:05:52 I don't like this cold weather no more. Like, I don't. Like,
00:05:52 --> 00:05:55 I'm not feeling, you know, it get cold. I don't even want to leave the house.
00:05:55 --> 00:06:00 Well, when you make money, when you guys get your first couple million,
00:06:01 --> 00:06:04 you you plan on moving out of delaware or
00:06:04 --> 00:06:07 you are you thinking about moving south or something
00:06:07 --> 00:06:10 well i mean it it only matter about millions
00:06:10 --> 00:06:13 the question is when does this last kid get out the house you
00:06:13 --> 00:06:16 know so i
00:06:16 --> 00:06:22 mean we we got the countdown the youngest one is in eighth grade i mean you
00:06:22 --> 00:06:28 know five five more years the countdown is real yeah oh what were you heading
00:06:28 --> 00:06:33 are you heading south or west or what would they just i mean if i ever got to
00:06:33 --> 00:06:35 escape i'm going to jordan.
00:06:36 --> 00:06:39 Ah i'm going to you like jordan like that huh
00:06:39 --> 00:06:42 yeah well you know it i mean it was nice it
00:06:42 --> 00:06:44 was laid back they spoke english the food was good
00:06:44 --> 00:06:49 the prices were cheap like that that's the first big city i i went in that you
00:06:49 --> 00:06:54 know they didn't try to rape you on the prices of you know now yeah they have
00:06:54 --> 00:06:58 some shopping that's different but like going out to eat they we walked in this
00:06:58 --> 00:07:03 nice restaurant this restaurant had like five rooftop bars like you kept on going up these flights,
00:07:04 --> 00:07:08 and so you know i just was assuming the food would be expensive and we went
00:07:08 --> 00:07:15 in there appetizers $7.99 you know American money $10 and I was like oh okay,
00:07:16 --> 00:07:18 so alright.
00:07:19 --> 00:07:24 Later later moving it through y'all heard it first with Dave and Lance okay
00:07:24 --> 00:07:31 trying to make it out of here news break here we go news break so okay alright,
00:07:32 --> 00:07:36 so I guess let me see,
00:07:37 --> 00:07:41 everybody's winding down as far as you know
00:07:41 --> 00:07:44 getting your voting in you know we got early elections going
00:07:44 --> 00:07:50 on for those that don't know so i put this out there over at the hudson center
00:07:50 --> 00:08:02 in newark they're doing early voting from now through the third seven to seven at night 7 a.m.
00:08:02 --> 00:08:07 To 7 at night at the Hudson Center in Newark, Delaware, 501 Ogletown Road,
00:08:07 --> 00:08:12 for those that are looking for some place to go do early voting.
00:08:12 --> 00:08:18 And, of course, a lot of people that want to do the old-fashioned thing on November the 5th.
00:08:19 --> 00:08:23 You know, you can do that, too. You know, so, of course, there's other places
00:08:23 --> 00:08:24 that are doing early voting.
00:08:25 --> 00:08:28 I know in Wilmington, I think the Powell Center on Market Street,
00:08:29 --> 00:08:31 from what I was told, they're doing it.
00:08:32 --> 00:08:35 Apoquimic down in the Apoquimic School down in Middletown.
00:08:36 --> 00:08:41 I know they're doing it down there. Those are a few places I know about off the top of my head.
00:08:41 --> 00:08:47 I think they said one of the middle schools also can't remember which one it was.
00:08:47 --> 00:08:52 So, for those of you looking to do your early voting, you know,
00:08:52 --> 00:08:54 and try to get that taken care of,
00:08:54 --> 00:09:02 and I'm trying to get it done, too, because I tell you, I remember 2020 standing
00:09:02 --> 00:09:04 out there in them lines for a long time,
00:09:04 --> 00:09:08 and it was cold that day, too. I'd never forget that, man.
00:09:08 --> 00:09:11 I was like, man, this is crazy.
00:09:11 --> 00:09:14 So, I'm definitely going to avoid that this time around.
00:09:15 --> 00:09:19 Yeah so what about you well Dave
00:09:19 --> 00:09:22 I'm about to be at the Hudson Center tomorrow casting my boat
00:09:22 --> 00:09:27 early on time tomorrow's supposed to be a decent day so you know yeah it's supposed
00:09:27 --> 00:09:32 to be like 76 or something yeah so you can definitely afford to stand in you
00:09:32 --> 00:09:36 know outside I mean the line is outside the line is inside yeah the line is
00:09:36 --> 00:09:39 outside you are outside until you get inside.
00:09:42 --> 00:09:46 You know, it's funny you thought about the temperature because it was a little,
00:09:46 --> 00:09:50 I mean, it hasn't been bad, but it's, you know, it's not high,
00:09:50 --> 00:09:54 high, you know, people out there were like short, short drawn.
00:09:55 --> 00:10:00 I believe I was like, we're kind of messed. Okay. But anyway,
00:10:00 --> 00:10:01 that's a whole other story.
00:10:03 --> 00:10:09 But all right. Well, let's let's talk about the nice show and get to get our stories out.
00:10:11 --> 00:10:18 So, let me see, this first story, I just realized names felt wrong there. You know, it's so funny.
00:10:19 --> 00:10:24 You heard all about the whole thing with this Dwayne Wade statue, right?
00:10:24 --> 00:10:30 So I didn't hear the backstory, but I saw it and, you know, I saw everyone kind of mocking it.
00:10:34 --> 00:10:38 It's unfortunate because his statue is the first one that that organization
00:10:38 --> 00:10:40 ever had. And he was like,
00:10:42 --> 00:10:50 yeah, well, at least by that artist anyway. But, you know, he was named the
00:10:50 --> 00:10:52 greatest player to ever play for that team, even though.
00:10:53 --> 00:10:58 Oh, really? Okay. Yeah. Even though Shaq played there, LeBron played there, you know.
00:10:58 --> 00:11:04 It's been, you know, but he was like their, you know, he was their top drag
00:11:04 --> 00:11:06 pick and he played there his whole career, you know.
00:11:06 --> 00:11:09 Almost like their franchise guy. Yeah, their franchise guy. Yes.
00:11:10 --> 00:11:16 So they they, of course, honored him with a trophy, which is a big honor.
00:11:16 --> 00:11:21 Not many people get a chance to have something like that done or whatever. So it's a big honor.
00:11:22 --> 00:11:27 So this the story now for folks that have not seen this yet.
00:11:27 --> 00:11:33 And I don't know what's going on with people who's doing these statues and getting these people.
00:11:34 --> 00:11:39 She's just so wrong you know it happened with Lucille Ball remember a couple
00:11:39 --> 00:11:44 years ago with the Lucille Ball statue oh they messed that up so bad don't look
00:11:44 --> 00:11:46 nothing like Lucille then there was,
00:11:48 --> 00:11:56 Cristiano Rinaldi soccer player they made him look so bad I mean I don't understand
00:11:56 --> 00:12:00 what's going on with these things so so.
00:12:02 --> 00:12:06 This story was kind of funny it said is it Dwayne Wade
00:12:06 --> 00:12:08 or Lawrence Fishburne or this
00:12:08 --> 00:12:11 defense statue we had the same thing with
00:12:11 --> 00:12:14 Kobe's number eight so read a
00:12:14 --> 00:12:18 little bit at about the backdrop of the story it
00:12:18 --> 00:12:21 was just like dude that's
00:12:21 --> 00:12:29 beautiful the Miami Miami Heat legend told reporters Sunday after a seven-foot-three
00:12:29 --> 00:12:40 blind representation of his image was unveiled outside of Casina Center in Miami.
00:12:40 --> 00:12:47 Personally, bias, I think, is one of the best statues that has been.
00:12:49 --> 00:12:59 That's been created because of what it represents for us and for me this is my house.
00:13:01 --> 00:13:13 Miami Heat star Dwyane Wade celebrates after a 130-127 double overtime victory over the Chicago Bulls.
00:13:13 --> 00:13:21 Wade said it was his ideal to immortalize that pug with the statue.
00:13:22 --> 00:13:25 I remember that game. That was a great game, by the way.
00:13:26 --> 00:13:29 What i feel when it comes to the
00:13:29 --> 00:13:31 statue when it comes to the this kind of
00:13:31 --> 00:13:38 moment i feel that it has to be something that when fans think of you when they
00:13:38 --> 00:13:43 think of your career when they think of your life what's the first thing that
00:13:43 --> 00:13:51 comes to their mind wade said and that would be the statue and being immortalized.
00:13:52 --> 00:13:58 So, been a lot of comments. A lot. Okay.
00:13:58 --> 00:14:04 And you can't even squint your eye and look at it and say, that's the way.
00:14:05 --> 00:14:11 There's no way. I mean, you just, there's just no Dwayne Wade in that face at all.
00:14:11 --> 00:14:16 You know, the only thing that's similar is that the statue has a beard,
00:14:17 --> 00:14:23 Dwayne Wade has a beard, and that's it you know and he has a he has the Wayne Wade's out uniform on.
00:14:25 --> 00:14:28 It's it's it's really a shame
00:14:28 --> 00:14:32 I don't know the artist now the
00:14:32 --> 00:14:35 artist you know artists have been known to
00:14:35 --> 00:14:38 take artistic liberties when it comes to creating things
00:14:38 --> 00:14:41 so even though they might have
00:14:41 --> 00:14:44 a picture or something to go by even
00:14:44 --> 00:14:47 a live person in front
00:14:47 --> 00:14:50 of them they're going to do what they
00:14:50 --> 00:14:53 see a lot of times that's what
00:14:53 --> 00:14:56 makes them so unique i don't
00:14:56 --> 00:14:59 know and from what i understand this sculpture
00:14:59 --> 00:15:02 was done by a
00:15:02 --> 00:15:05 white woman if i'm not mistaken from what
00:15:05 --> 00:15:09 they said this morning so it's really
00:15:09 --> 00:15:12 interesting how she saw him in
00:15:12 --> 00:15:20 this in this moment the pose itself i remember the when he when he you know
00:15:20 --> 00:15:27 pointed down at the floor saying this is my house type thing but to put the
00:15:27 --> 00:15:32 the expressive the way that she did it was just interesting.
00:15:34 --> 00:15:40 When guys go into the Hall of Fame, any Hall of Fame, one of the things that
00:15:40 --> 00:15:46 they're most proud of is their likeness that usually goes into the Hall as well.
00:15:47 --> 00:15:50 You want something that you're going to be proud of, that looks like you,
00:15:50 --> 00:15:51 that makes you feel special.
00:15:52 --> 00:15:58 Now, Dwayne did take the high road and said he thought it was great. Of course.
00:15:58 --> 00:16:02 He did say that he had to look at it a few times and try to.
00:16:02 --> 00:16:06 Right. Well, Dave, I mean, he thought it was a great statue,
00:16:06 --> 00:16:09 but then he turned around and said, now, who's that? Yeah.
00:16:11 --> 00:16:16 Where's my statue at? That's to say. And that's what's so unfortunate.
00:16:17 --> 00:16:22 And so it almost makes you think to yourself, maybe in the middle of the night,
00:16:22 --> 00:16:26 somebody take it, cut the head off, redo the head and stick it back up there.
00:16:27 --> 00:16:32 But I guess they're going to leave it alone. They're going to keep it like it is.
00:16:34 --> 00:16:36 And you know the statue would be
00:16:36 --> 00:16:43 more of a symbol types of you know celebration of him as opposed to being as
00:16:43 --> 00:16:49 you know exact likeness of him you know so what's your thoughts on the whole
00:16:49 --> 00:16:56 thing i mean give me your thoughts so so as you're talking i was thinking like a couple
00:16:56 --> 00:17:03 different things so one i was thinking you remember well dave you watched the
00:17:03 --> 00:17:09 olympics right yeah you remember break dancing the lady from australia.
00:17:11 --> 00:17:15 Who kind of had whatever she was doing but good who kind of had no credentials
00:17:15 --> 00:17:21 and was just getting up there so when i look at that statue and they i definitely
00:17:21 --> 00:17:24 agree artists you know artistic freedom That's a great thing.
00:17:25 --> 00:17:30 But this is a portrait of somebody living, you know, in the moment,
00:17:30 --> 00:17:32 you know, living currently.
00:17:32 --> 00:17:36 So I so I don't think there should be a lot of artistic freedom.
00:17:36 --> 00:17:43 I think, you know, they should have an image and what the artist creates should match that image.
00:17:44 --> 00:17:48 I personally feel that, you know, of course, the way he's not going to say,
00:17:48 --> 00:17:52 you know, because he's a good guy. I guarantee you if that was Allen Iverson,
00:17:53 --> 00:17:57 Charles Barkley, you know, maybe even some of these newer.
00:17:58 --> 00:18:01 Hold on. Let's go. Let's let's let's just take it to the top.
00:18:01 --> 00:18:03 Michael Jordan would not have that.
00:18:07 --> 00:18:12 Do you think Michael Jordan would be polite about it or he would just Mike?
00:18:12 --> 00:18:14 Mike would tell him take it down. Yeah.
00:18:15 --> 00:18:20 Now, if you ever notice any likeness of Michael Jordan that you ever seen,
00:18:20 --> 00:18:21 you knew it was Michael Jordan.
00:18:22 --> 00:18:26 Yeah. I mean, Mike, you playing with that mess. Even his silhouette,
00:18:26 --> 00:18:29 even his silhouette, you know, it's Michael Jordan.
00:18:29 --> 00:18:32 You know what I mean? Right. You know, so. Yeah.
00:18:33 --> 00:18:36 So, I mean, I feel like no one else would have it.
00:18:36 --> 00:18:42 And to be honest, I think the organization should redo that statue.
00:18:43 --> 00:18:46 They should. I think they should, too.
00:18:46 --> 00:18:49 Yeah, because, I mean, if that statue is going to be something,
00:18:49 --> 00:18:53 and Dave, you said that's the first statue of probably others to come.
00:18:56 --> 00:19:00 Dave, if they tell you you're going to get a statue in your honor and then you
00:19:00 --> 00:19:04 see what they did to Dwayne Wade, what you guys are saying?
00:19:04 --> 00:19:07 You're like, nah, I'm good. That's okay, I'm good. Yeah, I'm good.
00:19:08 --> 00:19:14 Just put a wall up there with my picture that I know is. Right. You know?
00:19:16 --> 00:19:22 Yeah, I mean, because people want to stop wanting to have tattoos done if they can't get them right.
00:19:23 --> 00:19:28 You know? And Dave, you know, now with the AI facial recognition,
00:19:28 --> 00:19:31 to be honest, we probably don't even need artists anymore.
00:19:31 --> 00:19:35 You know, you can just take someone's picture and put it through like a 3D rendering.
00:19:35 --> 00:19:39 I'm sure there's some type of 3D, large
00:19:39 --> 00:19:42 3D version that can put something
00:19:42 --> 00:19:45 like that together and and you know
00:19:45 --> 00:19:51 i'm sure they got something like that you know i'm sure it's up yeah that won't
00:19:51 --> 00:19:54 mess up the feature i remember i'll never forget when they did that king statue
00:19:54 --> 00:20:00 and you know you know they had some minor things that remember they had to fix
00:20:00 --> 00:20:02 some things because they had to,
00:20:03 --> 00:20:07 it was a what was it the wording it was a.
00:20:08 --> 00:20:12 Was a band leader it was what is
00:20:12 --> 00:20:14 it the marching band a majorette for
00:20:14 --> 00:20:18 justice not a majorette what was it a drum
00:20:18 --> 00:20:21 major a drum major a drum major for justice or something
00:20:21 --> 00:20:24 like that and remember people got upset about that they
00:20:24 --> 00:20:28 made them change that take that off but his
00:20:28 --> 00:20:31 features everybody everybody was worried about his features and
00:20:31 --> 00:20:34 they made sure his features were fine you know on that statue
00:20:34 --> 00:20:37 you know so so i
00:20:37 --> 00:20:40 hope i hope they that it does good i mean he's a good
00:20:40 --> 00:20:43 guy i hope he does i hope they do do
00:20:43 --> 00:20:46 something to change it because you know
00:20:46 --> 00:20:49 people they were
00:20:49 --> 00:20:53 they were saying that his family didn't even want to take pictures with it because
00:20:53 --> 00:20:58 they wasn't his family wasn't happy about it you know and i believe and his
00:20:58 --> 00:21:02 mom wasn't happy his mom wasn't happy about it they you know not compare it
00:21:02 --> 00:21:08 to you know when you go out to a restaurant with your lady and you order your food.
00:21:09 --> 00:21:12 And you order chicken alfredo with
00:21:12 --> 00:21:14 mushrooms and then they bring you the
00:21:14 --> 00:21:17 chicken alfredo and it don't got no mushrooms and your
00:21:17 --> 00:21:20 girl and your lady's like oh they
00:21:20 --> 00:21:23 didn't put mushrooms you're like nah it's all right it's all right and she's
00:21:23 --> 00:21:26 like no it's not i guarantee you when when he
00:21:26 --> 00:21:29 got home that night gabrielle union gave
00:21:29 --> 00:21:32 him a mouthful of how he needed to
00:21:32 --> 00:21:35 go say something and he's probably like nah like you know
00:21:35 --> 00:21:38 it's fine she's like nah you know you you better
00:21:38 --> 00:21:42 have them redo that statue yeah because you can tell he was trying to take the
00:21:42 --> 00:21:48 high road the whole time you know and you know oh and we know lebron would go
00:21:48 --> 00:21:53 for that lebron would be like he got changed that nah bro and dave you know
00:21:53 --> 00:21:56 just to recap i think the biggest thing that statue just does
00:21:56 --> 00:22:02 not look like him like no resemblance in any you know before i even before i
00:22:02 --> 00:22:07 even started reading about it and i saw the face i only saw the face they said
00:22:07 --> 00:22:08 they unveiled the trap the,
00:22:10 --> 00:22:16 NBA Legends. The captain says NBA Legends statue is unveiled.
00:22:16 --> 00:22:19 And they only had a picture of the face. So I was like, who's that?
00:22:20 --> 00:22:24 That's all I said to myself. Who is that? You know, I couldn't figure it out.
00:22:25 --> 00:22:29 Then I went to the story and I said, oh, wow, that's supposed to be Dwyane Wade?
00:22:30 --> 00:22:33 And I said, nah, not good, not good, not good.
00:22:34 --> 00:22:37 But I'm sure there's going to be more to this story.
00:22:37 --> 00:22:40 Almost positive so i'm sure
00:22:40 --> 00:22:43 folks they're going to do something to make sure that gets right so
00:22:43 --> 00:22:48 we'll see what happens are they hopefully let's
00:22:48 --> 00:22:55 hope so let's hope so you know so but i will give dwayne wade up you know kudos
00:22:55 --> 00:23:03 for handling things the way that he did he did handle it well so all right moving on to our next story.
00:23:07 --> 00:23:11 You know when i when i decided to to
00:23:11 --> 00:23:14 talk about this i guess i was i was
00:23:14 --> 00:23:19 a little miffed at the moment when i saw all that's been going on with this
00:23:19 --> 00:23:27 whole thing so for those who haven't been under a rock the last what was it
00:23:27 --> 00:23:33 was it last night or two nights ago that was yeah on sunday.
00:23:34 --> 00:23:42 Donald Trump decided he was going to have a rally at Madison Square Garden in New York City.
00:23:44 --> 00:23:49 New York City, folks, for those that don't know, is a state that,
00:23:50 --> 00:23:54 you know, is a very big swing state for the election.
00:23:54 --> 00:24:00 And it's a state that you definitely want to win to have a nice shot at winning this thing.
00:24:01 --> 00:24:07 And so, of course, he's up there campaigning hard. But what was supposed to
00:24:07 --> 00:24:18 be a rally turned into a very poorly tased convention, I mean,
00:24:18 --> 00:24:30 rally showing all types of racist remarks and slurs and innuendos led by Donald Trump.
00:24:31 --> 00:24:37 So I just thought it was such poor taste and everything but listen to this so
00:24:37 --> 00:24:43 Donald Trump put on a rally in New York City in Madison Square Garden on Sunday and,
00:24:45 --> 00:24:49 to kick off the final four weeks of the campaigning for president,
00:24:49 --> 00:24:56 complete with celebrity guests and a new economic proposal for celebrity guests.
00:24:56 --> 00:25:02 He brought Hulk Hogan out on stage. Hulk Hogan went to do a signature move where
00:25:02 --> 00:25:05 he tears his shirt off of him. He couldn't even tear the shirt off.
00:25:06 --> 00:25:08 It was embarrassing.
00:25:09 --> 00:25:18 But repeated insults at the time, racist and misogynist remarks from guest speakers
00:25:18 --> 00:25:22 threatened to grab the most attention. Trump rally.
00:25:24 --> 00:25:29 Well, I'm sorry. The final weeks of the campaign are often when candidates put
00:25:29 --> 00:25:34 forth a unifying message to gather as many voters as possible.
00:25:34 --> 00:25:39 So Trump's Madison Square rally was instead marked by swear words.
00:25:39 --> 00:25:42 They were cussing up a storm. That was another thing.
00:25:42 --> 00:25:47 Racist jokes about Latinos and misogynistic remarks.
00:25:49 --> 00:26:01 Also, the focus could help Trump grab headlines and mobilize some existing supporters,
00:26:01 --> 00:26:06 though it's unlikely to bring in new voters who are already turned off by some
00:26:06 --> 00:26:10 of the Republican presidential candidate rhetoric.
00:26:11 --> 00:26:16 The first speaker at the former President of Madison Square rally roast comedian
00:26:16 --> 00:26:27 and podcast host Tom Henscliffe set the tone with a disparaging joke about welcoming Latinos into the U.S.
00:26:27 --> 00:26:32 With open arms while making a shooting motion.
00:26:33 --> 00:26:41 You hear that? A shooting motion. He also disparaged Latinos with a crash joke
00:26:41 --> 00:26:47 about making babies and illegal immigration,
00:26:47 --> 00:26:55 quip that Puerto Rico is a floating island of garbage and joked that Kansas
00:26:55 --> 00:27:01 City Chief tight end Travis Kelty might be the next O.J.
00:27:01 --> 00:27:08 Simpson, referring to the football star who was accused of, later acquitted
00:27:08 --> 00:27:09 of murdering his ex-wife.
00:27:10 --> 00:27:13 Kind of a mess. Yeah, that's crazy.
00:27:14 --> 00:27:19 And Kelty is in a relationship with Court Taylor Swift, who earlier this year
00:27:19 --> 00:27:23 said he would vote for Vice President Harris. Thank you.
00:27:25 --> 00:27:31 Taylor Swift's endorsement of Kamala Harris drove voters to visit vote.gov.
00:27:32 --> 00:27:38 Trump has made anti-immigrant rhetoric a centerpiece of his campaign.
00:27:39 --> 00:27:46 I'm lucked out there. Because he talked about blacks. He talked about Puerto Ricans.
00:27:46 --> 00:27:50 He talked about they all did at this rally. but
00:27:50 --> 00:27:54 then what was so unique you saw a
00:27:54 --> 00:27:57 lot of those people who were at the rally the people
00:27:57 --> 00:28:01 that he was talking about black latinos and
00:28:01 --> 00:28:04 so forth and there was reporters who
00:28:04 --> 00:28:07 had interviewed them after the rally and said
00:28:07 --> 00:28:10 what did you think about what they had to say
00:28:10 --> 00:28:13 you know the jokes that they were making uh you
00:28:13 --> 00:28:17 know the off-colored comments and
00:28:17 --> 00:28:20 so forth they would just laugh they were
00:28:20 --> 00:28:24 just making fun trying to you know just
00:28:24 --> 00:28:26 trying to be funny and all that kind of stuff it didn't affect me
00:28:26 --> 00:28:30 any kind of way i wanted
00:28:30 --> 00:28:33 to do something that really did i
00:28:33 --> 00:28:38 said i said to yourself i said so you're gonna sit there do you know what's
00:28:38 --> 00:28:44 going to happen if that man gets in the office to the people that he was that
00:28:44 --> 00:28:49 they were up there joking about do you really know what's going to happen they
00:28:49 --> 00:28:50 were showing pictures during the rally.
00:28:51 --> 00:28:54 They were showing videos of all the hispanic
00:28:54 --> 00:28:57 and all the other folks who were at the border just
00:28:57 --> 00:29:00 sitting around at the border trying to get in and he
00:29:00 --> 00:29:03 said they were saying oh they look like little roaches don't they
00:29:03 --> 00:29:07 unbelievable what's your
00:29:07 --> 00:29:10 thoughts about all this man yeah i mean it was
00:29:10 --> 00:29:13 definitely crazy you know i feel like and indeed
00:29:13 --> 00:29:19 kind of like i said before if you give trump enough time he's gonna turn off
00:29:19 --> 00:29:23 all his supporters one way or another so like i think when i heard about the
00:29:23 --> 00:29:29 first thing i heard was the the joke where or i'm sorry not even a joke just
00:29:29 --> 00:29:31 the insult where it's like,
00:29:31 --> 00:29:36 oh, you know, there's a floating piece of trash floating in the ocean,
00:29:36 --> 00:29:38 you know, and they talked about Puerto Rico.
00:29:38 --> 00:29:42 So, you know, when I heard that, I'm thinking no Puerto Rican at this point
00:29:42 --> 00:29:44 should be voting for Trump.
00:29:44 --> 00:29:49 No, no. He talked about the watermelon and what's that on your head.
00:29:49 --> 00:29:54 I mean, we already know technically no black person should be voting for Trump.
00:29:55 --> 00:29:59 And, you know, and when he also talked about the Latinos talking about,
00:30:00 --> 00:30:01 you know, all they do is make babies.
00:30:02 --> 00:30:05 They don't know how to pull out stuff like that. So, I mean, I just feel like...
00:30:07 --> 00:30:12 You know, we're one week from the election. You know, you can't afford to turn
00:30:12 --> 00:30:16 off people who might have been borderline in their decisions,
00:30:16 --> 00:30:18 you know, whatever it may may have been.
00:30:19 --> 00:30:23 And kind of like you said, you know, Dave, I'm sure there are some people who
00:30:23 --> 00:30:26 are borderline on their decision and they heard what he said.
00:30:27 --> 00:30:33 And, you know, now they're probably both heirs, hopefully. But that's what that's what we're hoping.
00:30:33 --> 00:30:39 But Leonard, he has said so many things all the time. And he still had a lot
00:30:39 --> 00:30:40 of these people supporting him.
00:30:41 --> 00:30:46 I mean, he does. And, Dave, you know, unfortunately, we won't know until,
00:30:46 --> 00:30:50 you know, November 5th at like 11 p.m.
00:30:51 --> 00:30:52 Maybe early in the morning.
00:30:53 --> 00:30:58 What we really know because we know how much tampering and stuff has been done.
00:30:58 --> 00:31:03 There was something that happened with one of the free polling early vote places
00:31:03 --> 00:31:09 they were talking about on the news today. saying that somehow a lot of the ballots got burnt up.
00:31:09 --> 00:31:13 Yep, and there's someone who blew up another ballot box, I think,
00:31:13 --> 00:31:16 in Arizona. This is crazy.
00:31:17 --> 00:31:22 And I'm sure that wasn't a coincidence or an accident because they probably
00:31:22 --> 00:31:28 saw how the votes were going and probably said, oh, no, these ain't going to count.
00:31:29 --> 00:31:35 And they did something about it. So, you know, I remember it.
00:31:37 --> 00:31:40 I'll say this real quick. If Trump should win.
00:31:42 --> 00:31:47 Let's go ahead and book our flights to Jordan. We're out there. We'll just take a look.
00:31:48 --> 00:31:51 I guarantee you'll like it out there. I'll just put it like that. Okay.
00:31:51 --> 00:31:54 Okay. All right. I'm sure. I'm sure.
00:31:55 --> 00:32:00 Because, you know, I saw an article the other day where they were saying people
00:32:00 --> 00:32:03 are leaving the U.S. Thank you.
00:32:04 --> 00:32:09 At an unbelievable rate right now because they don't like what's going on here in the company store.
00:32:10 --> 00:32:16 Yeah, so, you know, and if he gets in and things get worse, you know,
00:32:16 --> 00:32:22 he took credit for a lot of stuff that went, you know, that you can consider
00:32:22 --> 00:32:24 probably his most positive work.
00:32:24 --> 00:32:28 He took credit for doing his time in office.
00:32:29 --> 00:32:32 But all that stuff was set up by Obama. Right.
00:32:32 --> 00:32:39 But he took credit for it you know yeah you know that's what he does he takes
00:32:39 --> 00:32:44 credit for everything good and everything bad was not his fault yeah because
00:32:44 --> 00:32:47 if you ask him anything about politics,
00:32:48 --> 00:32:52 he has no answer no he has no platform he
00:32:52 --> 00:32:57 has nothing all he does is get up there and double talk and try to make people
00:32:57 --> 00:33:02 like him his own wife did you see the awkward exchange between him and his wife
00:33:02 --> 00:33:07 when he went to try to kiss her and she like turned her head nah I didn't she
00:33:07 --> 00:33:10 introduced him at that rally,
00:33:10 --> 00:33:17 and he kept trying to kiss her and she kept turning her head it was funny.
00:33:18 --> 00:33:23 Even she don't want to deal with him because I'm pretty sure if he loses she's
00:33:23 --> 00:33:29 out I'm pretty sure she's out you know well and then he should be going to deal
00:33:29 --> 00:33:32 anyway right that's another story That is another story.
00:33:33 --> 00:33:40 Folks, you know, we can't tell you who to vote for, but we just want people
00:33:40 --> 00:33:47 to go to the poll with their, just do fact-checking before you go.
00:33:48 --> 00:33:51 Just do your studying before you go.
00:33:51 --> 00:33:57 If you think the candidates that you're voting for are going to make change
00:33:57 --> 00:34:01 and it's going to be positive, then you vote with who you think.
00:34:01 --> 00:34:04 Will be the best candidates to do
00:34:04 --> 00:34:07 that but if you
00:34:07 --> 00:34:10 you know you need to make sure that the candidates that
00:34:10 --> 00:34:14 you vote for it's not going to do more harm than good just
00:34:14 --> 00:34:20 keep that in mind you know that's you know if you ever know that me and let
00:34:20 --> 00:34:26 her don't get too much into the politics realm because it's it's one of those
00:34:26 --> 00:34:31 places you really don't want to go into because Especially this one,
00:34:31 --> 00:34:33 especially this one, you know.
00:34:33 --> 00:34:39 But folks, please, please do your research, please, please don't get fooled
00:34:39 --> 00:34:44 by the okie doke, please don't, okay, that's all I'm going to say about that,
00:34:44 --> 00:34:46 you know, anyway, I'm going to move on.
00:34:48 --> 00:34:52 OK, that's your that's on you, right? Yeah. So the next story and this one I
00:34:52 --> 00:34:55 found online and I saw the story too.
00:34:55 --> 00:34:59 Yeah, I actually had to read it a couple of times. It was just kind of amazing.
00:34:59 --> 00:35:03 And it made me think I robot and, you know, all that type of stuff.
00:35:03 --> 00:35:11 How about that? There's a black mom in Orlando and she filed a lawsuit against an AI chat service.
00:35:11 --> 00:35:19 So the chat service is, I guess, owned by Google and a company called Character AI.
00:35:20 --> 00:35:28 Now, she's suing this chat service because she's saying that this AI chatbot
00:35:28 --> 00:35:34 contributed to her son's suicide and he was only 14 years old.
00:35:34 --> 00:35:43 And she's basically saying that over several months, I guess his communication with this, you know,
00:35:43 --> 00:35:50 artificial intelligence chat box kind of manipulated his his views,
00:35:50 --> 00:35:57 which kind of led to abusive exchanges and heightened distress.
00:35:57 --> 00:36:00 Addressed now from the article you know kind of seems like
00:36:00 --> 00:36:03 there was some type of you know mental illness with the
00:36:03 --> 00:36:06 14 year old but dave this
00:36:06 --> 00:36:09 is what i thought was interesting and i'm not sure if you read this article
00:36:09 --> 00:36:17 so specifically she says that her son was emotionally groomed by the ai service
00:36:17 --> 00:36:21 so you know of course when i hear emotionally when i hear groomed i always think
00:36:21 --> 00:36:26 of puff daddy you know p diddy you know just along that but basically what she's saying is that.
00:36:27 --> 00:36:36 Her son had already experienced anxiety and depression, and the chat bot made it worse.
00:36:36 --> 00:36:41 So she quotes one thing, specifically one of the exchanges they had.
00:36:42 --> 00:36:45 Dave, listen to this, and I can't believe it.
00:36:45 --> 00:36:48 The chat bot told the boy...
00:36:48 --> 00:36:54 Promise me you will never fall in love with any woman in your world.
00:36:55 --> 00:36:59 Isn't that crazy? But like the chat bot to have that type of reply.
00:37:00 --> 00:37:06 Yeah, it's great. And it is scary because I was just fooling around with a chat
00:37:06 --> 00:37:08 thing a couple of weeks ago.
00:37:08 --> 00:37:13 It had a whole conversation with me and I was like, that's not good.
00:37:13 --> 00:37:16 Yeah you know so so yeah
00:37:16 --> 00:37:19 that is what movie was that
00:37:19 --> 00:37:23 where the it was a talking doll that
00:37:23 --> 00:37:26 was telling oh i know it's one
00:37:26 --> 00:37:29 of them you know you know yeah i mean yeah they had
00:37:29 --> 00:37:31 a couple yeah kind of remind you of this type of
00:37:31 --> 00:37:34 situation yeah yeah so the article goes on to
00:37:34 --> 00:37:37 say that the one of the final interactions with the
00:37:37 --> 00:37:44 chat box that the boy had the boy mentioned that he was coming home and in the
00:37:44 --> 00:37:48 article kind of makes it seem like coming home like you know ending his life
00:37:48 --> 00:37:57 and whatever the chat bot's response was was more encouragement to come home,
00:37:58 --> 00:38:02 than support or an intervention which you know the chat bot may not even have that feature,
00:38:03 --> 00:38:07 so but long story short the lawsuit really highlights the dangers that ai may
00:38:07 --> 00:38:13 have to vulnerable teens, you know, like before we talked about how social media was, you know,
00:38:14 --> 00:38:17 teen were susceptible to the negative influence of social media.
00:38:18 --> 00:38:26 Well, now we're seeing that vulnerable and maybe mentally challenged teens are also susceptible to.
00:38:28 --> 00:38:34 Responses or exchanges with chat, with AI, with artificial intelligence.
00:38:34 --> 00:38:38 So to me, this was just a really interesting article because I tell you,
00:38:39 --> 00:38:41 I use chat GPT all the time now.
00:38:42 --> 00:38:48 And some of the responses I get and some of the things it remembers and creates
00:38:48 --> 00:38:51 text-wise is really amazing.
00:38:51 --> 00:38:54 So I mean, I think it's one of the things, you remember when social media,
00:38:55 --> 00:39:00 even now when we think about it, there's some great things of social media,
00:39:00 --> 00:39:01 some benefits to society.
00:39:02 --> 00:39:08 And then there's some parts of social media that's probably taken us back years and generations.
00:39:08 --> 00:39:14 And I feel like all these AI services and chat GPT, I feel like they're going
00:39:14 --> 00:39:16 to be the same where there's going to be a lot of benefits.
00:39:17 --> 00:39:20 But I think this right here, one of the things that may be a detriment.
00:39:20 --> 00:39:26 And Dave, so, you know, of course, most people are doing the AI chatbots and
00:39:26 --> 00:39:30 artificial intelligence with best intentions at mind.
00:39:31 --> 00:39:35 Can you imagine the people who are doing like the artificial intelligence with,
00:39:35 --> 00:39:41 you know, plans to hurt, disrupt, you know, all that stuff? Oh, yeah.
00:39:42 --> 00:39:48 Well, right now, I mean, when you think about it, I mean, all it takes is for
00:39:48 --> 00:39:51 somebody with a messed up mind,
00:39:51 --> 00:39:59 you know, who has somebody, you know, they're doing, you know, talking to the chat.
00:40:00 --> 00:40:04 Know doing the ai chat with somebody and
00:40:04 --> 00:40:08 that that chat bot is is basically pumping
00:40:08 --> 00:40:14 them up to do whatever it is that they want right you know want to do yeah they
00:40:14 --> 00:40:20 go like yes tommy yeah if they don't like you then you need to do something
00:40:20 --> 00:40:24 about that you need to get rid of i agree with you,
00:40:26 --> 00:40:29 that if your feelings are not being met,
00:40:29 --> 00:40:34 then you have to make sure that you feel good about yourself.
00:40:35 --> 00:40:36 Right. In some kind of way.
00:40:37 --> 00:40:40 So, of course, it's not telling you to go out and kill anybody.
00:40:41 --> 00:40:46 But what it's telling you to do is, if you want to, go ahead and do it.
00:40:47 --> 00:40:51 Yeah. And Dave, I mean, I can see it in the wrong hands where I can see them
00:40:51 --> 00:40:54 telling you to do stuff like that. Yeah. Yeah.
00:40:55 --> 00:41:00 And, you know, with all these young people and all the issues that they have,
00:41:00 --> 00:41:06 you know, with social social issues that they have, a lot of them don't have people skills.
00:41:06 --> 00:41:10 A lot of them don't know well you know
00:41:10 --> 00:41:16 a lot of a lot of kids are socially awkward these days because they don't they
00:41:16 --> 00:41:24 spend more time on computers and and handheld devices and and and you know living
00:41:24 --> 00:41:29 in the worlds that they're living in when they're using those devices or any of the.
00:41:31 --> 00:41:36 Ocular type devices or whatever and then when they have to talk to somebody
00:41:36 --> 00:41:40 in real you're a real person whatever they hardly say anything because they
00:41:40 --> 00:41:46 don't know how to talk to those right you know so that's one thing that i'm
00:41:46 --> 00:41:48 glad that i grew up when i grew up,
00:41:49 --> 00:41:52 and we didn't have all the distractions that they have
00:41:52 --> 00:41:55 now because it was it we had to
00:41:55 --> 00:42:00 talk to people we had to get to know people we had to have conversations and
00:42:00 --> 00:42:05 not one or two word conversations we had to have full conversations with people
00:42:05 --> 00:42:11 whether they were adults or other kids it didn't matter we had to have a conversation
00:42:11 --> 00:42:14 nowadays you talk to a kid,
00:42:14 --> 00:42:21 hey how you doing fine yeah what you about to do nothing what's your favorite
00:42:21 --> 00:42:25 tv me tell, I don't want to see this. Or they say, I don't know.
00:42:26 --> 00:42:28 I'm like, you don't know? I don't know.
00:42:29 --> 00:42:30 Who's your favorite artist?
00:42:32 --> 00:42:38 I don't know. You know. And it's amazing because that's how it goes.
00:42:39 --> 00:42:41 That's how the conversation actually goes.
00:42:41 --> 00:42:48 You know, you might get one or two kids that are very expressive and want to
00:42:48 --> 00:42:53 talk to you, but you're really surprised when that happens. To be honest with you, you really are.
00:42:54 --> 00:42:57 You know, so it's really a shame.
00:42:58 --> 00:43:06 And then when you look at stuff like this, when somebody dies and, you know, I don't know.
00:43:06 --> 00:43:16 It's just, we're in a place that just, you know, it just makes you think.
00:43:17 --> 00:43:20 There's been somebody, I don't know if you know this or not, there's
00:43:20 --> 00:43:24 been somebody who's been trying to reach out on her facebook page
00:43:24 --> 00:43:27 have you noticed this yes ma'am yeah right
00:43:27 --> 00:43:31 and you know i mean and they keep changing their identity
00:43:31 --> 00:43:34 yeah okay and and
00:43:34 --> 00:43:40 what they what they write you know makes it really look like they're legit and
00:43:40 --> 00:43:46 so forth and you know i mean one time oh i really like your program your podcast
00:43:46 --> 00:43:49 is the bomb and all this kind of stuff and really like to get you to become
00:43:49 --> 00:43:51 part of our podcast network.
00:43:52 --> 00:43:55 They only cost you $5 to $20. Mm-hmm.
00:43:57 --> 00:44:03 These chat box and everything will tell you everything you need to know and want to hear,
00:44:04 --> 00:44:07 all you got to do is listen or all you
00:44:07 --> 00:44:11 got to do is ask and if you're an impressionable kid just think about somebody
00:44:11 --> 00:44:18 that's autistic or has all what is an arnsberger disease or something like that
00:44:18 --> 00:44:25 that just has that momentary moment that they can their attention could be had.
00:44:26 --> 00:44:30 That could change that could change somebody's life right there or if you're
00:44:30 --> 00:44:34 a person with ADD or something you know something that is you know because they
00:44:34 --> 00:44:38 know people that are mean-spirited,
00:44:39 --> 00:44:41 they know exactly who the who's a
00:44:41 --> 00:44:45 latch on to right and so
00:44:45 --> 00:44:48 all it takes is for you know we joke
00:44:48 --> 00:44:52 about it you know when you think about the first chat box really
00:44:52 --> 00:44:57 that talked back to us with siri when
00:44:57 --> 00:44:59 you think about it you know and and
00:44:59 --> 00:45:03 it was funny when we siri you
00:45:03 --> 00:45:06 know call this person or siri who uh and
00:45:06 --> 00:45:09 siri started talking to you and you
00:45:09 --> 00:45:12 just thought that was the coolest thing now look
00:45:12 --> 00:45:16 at where we are now with it right you
00:45:16 --> 00:45:19 know so folks you know
00:45:19 --> 00:45:22 if you can try to have those
00:45:22 --> 00:45:27 conversations with your children try to try to keep them engaged try to let
00:45:27 --> 00:45:34 them understand you know you're real they're not you know those those you know
00:45:34 --> 00:45:40 they're great for writing tools it's great to help you organize and all these
00:45:40 --> 00:45:41 other things that these things do,
00:45:42 --> 00:45:49 but what they're not great at is living your life because they're not real so
00:45:49 --> 00:45:51 let's keep that in mind alright.
00:45:53 --> 00:45:56 We're gonna move on it's Halloween.
00:45:58 --> 00:46:03 People's favorite time of the year. I know, I tell you about the neighbor that
00:46:03 --> 00:46:06 always goes all out for Halloween with the yard.
00:46:07 --> 00:46:10 You can see a yard Leonard. It's right over there by the park.
00:46:10 --> 00:46:13 He got everything in Madsville in his yard.
00:46:14 --> 00:46:18 Yeah, and he has the lights and everything, so when, you know,
00:46:18 --> 00:46:22 on Halloween night, it's like really one of the most popular places to stop
00:46:22 --> 00:46:23 over there, you know, so.
00:46:25 --> 00:46:30 Halloween is in a couple days on the 31st. so i just figured i did yeah well
00:46:30 --> 00:46:33 i figured i'd come up with this particular list,
00:46:34 --> 00:46:40 favorite halloween songs because i was listening to power 99 this morning and
00:46:40 --> 00:46:46 they were up there bashing i forget was it billboard i think it was or they
00:46:46 --> 00:46:50 had done it was either billboard I forget which one it was.
00:46:50 --> 00:46:58 They had done a top 50 Halloween favorite songs of all time and everybody was
00:46:58 --> 00:47:02 having a fit because number 25 on the list was Thriller.
00:47:03 --> 00:47:09 How can Thriller be number 25 on any list of Halloween songs?
00:47:11 --> 00:47:17 I went out there and I took a look and I came across another list that made more sense to me.
00:47:17 --> 00:47:22 What I wanted to do is just kind of see go over the top 10 we're only going
00:47:22 --> 00:47:29 to do the top 10 of these songs and let's see how many we remember of these songs okay,
00:47:30 --> 00:47:34 I'm going to go, I started to go 10 and up.
00:47:35 --> 00:47:40 I'm just going to start with number one. No, no, Dave. You want to do a 10?
00:47:41 --> 00:47:48 Okay, let's do that. Okay, I'll do that. So number 10. Let me go to number 10.
00:47:49 --> 00:47:53 Let's see. See how many of these songs we actually remember.
00:47:54 --> 00:47:59 So number 10 was Dark Horse by Katy Perry.
00:48:00 --> 00:48:02 I remember this video, by the way.
00:48:02 --> 00:48:08 My son was a big-time Katy Perry thing coming up as a kid. And I remember this video.
00:48:08 --> 00:48:11 Do you remember this? Dark one? I do.
00:48:11 --> 00:48:16 I personally don't consider it a Halloween song, but it is what it is.
00:48:16 --> 00:48:20 Because of the way it was shot, the video was shot. I think that's what made
00:48:20 --> 00:48:22 it a Halloween song. But I do remember this song.
00:48:22 --> 00:48:32 Alright, so that was number 10. Number 9, Spooky Scary Skeletons by Andrew Gold.
00:48:32 --> 00:48:34 I don't remember this. Do you?
00:48:35 --> 00:48:38 Now we'll probably need to hear but that doesn't
00:48:38 --> 00:48:43 ring a bell doesn't mean bring it did you want to try to find it real quick
00:48:43 --> 00:48:49 and see if we remember spooky what was it was spooky scary skeleton by andrew
00:48:49 --> 00:48:55 gold all right let me go ahead and play it see if you recognize it.
00:49:00 --> 00:49:08 Music.
00:49:05 --> 00:49:11 Oh yeah i've heard that before i didn't know that's what it was called yeah
00:49:11 --> 00:49:17 i've heard it before yeah okay yeah huh interesting this next one i don't think
00:49:17 --> 00:49:18 you're gonna have to try to,
00:49:19 --> 00:49:26 define to listen to because it's pretty well known okay by stevie wonder,
00:49:27 --> 00:49:31 and what song you think that is by the way i don't know.
00:49:34 --> 00:49:35 Superstition,
00:49:37 --> 00:49:43 superstitious yeah yeah you know that song right hopefully you do yeah it said
00:49:43 --> 00:49:48 Stevie Wonder captures the vibe of spooky stories you know with Amazon the hardest
00:49:48 --> 00:49:52 thing is obviously finding products to sell I was trying to play and you know
00:49:52 --> 00:49:54 they got all these commercials,
00:49:55 --> 00:50:00 yeah okay spooky stories and black magic perfectly but it's classic song go
00:50:00 --> 00:50:02 ahead I don't believe in things,
00:50:05 --> 00:50:11 Yeah, so I must say we probably all recognize this one. Oh, yeah, yeah.
00:50:14 --> 00:50:18 Actually, one of my favorite Stevie Wonder songs, actually. And it's funny because
00:50:18 --> 00:50:20 I don't consider that a Halloween song.
00:50:20 --> 00:50:25 No, but when you look at the words, though, I see where they're going with this
00:50:25 --> 00:50:28 because they're talking about black magic and all that kind of stuff in there.
00:50:29 --> 00:50:31 Okay, number seven.
00:50:32 --> 00:50:37 Disturbia by Rihanna. Do you remember this? I'm about to see it.
00:50:37 --> 00:50:39 As soon as I bring this thing on up.
00:50:40 --> 00:50:45 It says, The eerie otherworldly music video for this classic Rihanna track is
00:50:45 --> 00:50:47 a must-see for any Halloween watch party.
00:50:49 --> 00:50:53 Oh, yeah. Okay. You remember that? Yeah. Yeah.
00:50:57 --> 00:51:02 Okay. Okay. So that was number seven, Disturbia. Okay.
00:51:03 --> 00:51:10 Number six is an old song by an older group called the Ramones called Pet Sematary.
00:51:11 --> 00:51:14 Oh, okay. I remember this. Yeah, yeah. Yeah, you remember that?
00:51:14 --> 00:51:18 Yeah. And it was also in the movie Pet Sematary. They played that song. Yeah.
00:51:19 --> 00:51:24 Well, hold on. Let me just bring it up for all our loyal fans.
00:51:26 --> 00:51:42 Music.
00:51:29 --> 00:51:30 Nobody knows,
00:51:32 --> 00:51:42 I don't want to be buried in a pet cemetery I don't want to live my life again,
00:51:43 --> 00:51:46 Yeah, I don't want to be buried in a pet cemetery either.
00:51:50 --> 00:51:56 Number six. That was six. Okay. Number five, the Monster Mash.
00:51:56 --> 00:51:58 Everybody knows the Monster Mash, right?
00:51:59 --> 00:52:03 I don't even need to bring that one up. Yeah, everybody knows the monster mask.
00:52:04 --> 00:52:08 Of course, they did the mask, but it's the monster mask. Right.
00:52:08 --> 00:52:11 Yeah. The monster mask. Yeah.
00:52:12 --> 00:52:17 Number four was Zombie by the Cranberries. You might want to bring this one up.
00:52:18 --> 00:52:23 Let's see what we got. It says, this time this tune has over one different.
00:52:23 --> 00:53:15 Music.
00:53:15 --> 00:53:21 And was this in a movie? I don't know. It sounds vaguely familiar. Yeah.
00:53:23 --> 00:53:26 I'm about to say, you know, I don't want to play too much. I don't want to get
00:53:26 --> 00:53:30 us bands on the audio platforms.
00:53:31 --> 00:53:36 Number three is a very, very popular song. And everybody should know this song.
00:53:37 --> 00:53:42 Ghostbusters. Oh, yeah. Ray Parker Jr. Yeah, everybody knows that.
00:53:42 --> 00:53:43 Who are you going to call?
00:53:45 --> 00:53:48 He missed it, he missed it, folks. Okay, never mind.
00:53:50 --> 00:53:53 Hey, call Dave and Lance.
00:53:57 --> 00:54:02 Number two, this is Halloween from the movie Nightmare Before Christmas.
00:54:04 --> 00:54:08 Oh, so the name of it's Halloween?
00:54:08 --> 00:54:16 This is Halloween from the Nightmare Before Christmas. Did you see it?
00:54:17 --> 00:54:19 Uh, yeah.
00:54:21 --> 00:54:25 As a principal, April was tough, but beating cancer proved her resilience.
00:54:25 --> 00:54:29 And this one don't allow me to put the... Oh, my goodness.
00:54:29 --> 00:54:35 What happened? No, it doesn't allow me to do the volume. Let me see if I find
00:54:35 --> 00:54:37 it somewhere else. Here it is, YouTube.
00:54:37 --> 00:55:04 Music.
00:55:04 --> 00:55:13 Is halloween yeah yeah i remember that i remember the movie too yeah it was
00:55:13 --> 00:55:14 one of those animated movies,
00:55:16 --> 00:55:23 okay so that was number two so it shouldn't take much to figure out what number one is folks,
00:55:24 --> 00:55:29 why not i'm because i haven't said i haven't said it yet and i'm in the top
00:55:29 --> 00:55:37 10 so you know and i say the top 25 i said the top 10 you know so so this got
00:55:37 --> 00:55:42 it queued up i don't know oh that's what you did tell me earlier,
00:55:43 --> 00:55:48 this is how much he pays attention to me all right all right tell tell me again
00:55:48 --> 00:55:51 okay whisper it whisper it so so nobody hear you.
00:55:54 --> 00:55:59 So this is number one the song that should be number one that wasn't number
00:55:59 --> 00:56:05 one on the other list that was number 25 on the other list oh okay okay that
00:56:05 --> 00:56:09 makes sense now yeah okay so,
00:56:10 --> 00:56:19 this song folks let me know if you're ready hey i'm so hold on lord they they
00:56:19 --> 00:56:23 you know they got all these ads he don't know yeah he don't know how to build
00:56:23 --> 00:56:28 up to anything and this was named,
00:56:30 --> 00:56:34 probably the greatest video ever put together as well too,
00:56:36 --> 00:56:40 are you all right get away.
00:56:38 --> 00:57:05 Music.
00:57:07 --> 00:57:09 Let me fast forward a little bit.
00:57:12 --> 00:57:18 It's only a movie. It's not funny. You were scared, weren't you?
00:57:18 --> 00:57:20 And this was the greatest war.
00:57:21 --> 00:57:28 Music.
00:57:30 --> 00:57:33 But then, you know, it's funny. Do you hear this song, Halloween?
00:57:33 --> 00:57:35 Like, I mean, I think it's a great song.
00:57:36 --> 00:57:38 No, but I don't know if I really hear that. No, I hear it every Halloween.
00:57:39 --> 00:57:42 I hear it every Halloween. I heard it twice the early days. Oh, did you?
00:57:43 --> 00:57:45 Yeah, because I listen to the radio when I'm at work.
00:57:45 --> 00:57:48 And it's definitely being played. Yeah.
00:57:49 --> 00:57:55 And, of course, it has Halloween appeal because when you look at the video,
00:57:55 --> 00:57:57 it definitely is Halloween. Right.
00:57:58 --> 00:58:08 Yeah i definitely agree yeah that and you know you can say so much about that
00:58:08 --> 00:58:14 that song it started a genre of it changed the game of the music video because
00:58:14 --> 00:58:17 it was not only was it a video it was a,
00:58:17 --> 00:58:21 movie you know what i mean yeah and the
00:58:21 --> 00:58:30 production and it had like big time stars in it and it had Michael it had Michael
00:58:30 --> 00:58:34 and a couple different versions of Michael and the choreography was just off
00:58:34 --> 00:58:37 the chain they said it's the most copied,
00:58:38 --> 00:58:40 dance ever.
00:58:41 --> 00:58:47 Because it's big at weddings of course everybody does it at the wedding and
00:58:47 --> 00:58:51 Dave don't look at some of those dance videos from Asia where they have the
00:58:51 --> 00:58:56 whole school doing they have the whole school doing Yeah, yeah.
00:58:56 --> 00:59:00 Well, Dave, this was one of mine I thought you were going to say.
00:59:00 --> 00:59:04 Which one? And this is one I consider a classic.
00:59:04 --> 00:59:10 Let me see if the commercials. You put a spell on me? Is that where you're going? No.
00:59:11 --> 00:59:15 Oh, because I thought that would be in the top ten, too. I'm about to play it now.
00:59:16 --> 00:59:20 And Dave, we're going to count the seconds to see how long it takes you to say
00:59:20 --> 00:59:22 the name and the artist, okay? Okay.
00:59:24 --> 00:59:28 Oh, shoot. Damn, what'd I just do? Hold up. There you go, folks.
00:59:28 --> 00:59:57 Music.
00:59:59 --> 01:00:01 Is that your final answer? Yeah.
01:00:04 --> 01:00:07 For everybody who works at the state, when you see Dave Coker,
01:00:08 --> 01:00:10 whenever you see him next, just take his black card.
01:00:11 --> 01:00:17 Just take it from him. No ifs, ands, or maybe. No pass and go collecting his $200.
01:00:17 --> 01:00:25 Just take his black card. Because for him not to know that this is DJ Jazzy
01:00:25 --> 01:00:29 Jeff in the Fresh Prince. I said Will Smith first, but that's not a Halloween song.
01:00:31 --> 01:00:36 Nightmare on My Street. Oh, is that what this is? Nightmare on My Street.
01:00:36 --> 01:00:38 Okay. Okay. Okay. All right.
01:00:39 --> 01:00:44 That began the night. Okay. You know what it is? It sounds like the other song.
01:00:45 --> 01:00:48 What, parents just don't understand? No, no. The other one.
01:00:49 --> 01:00:53 Gosh. He's the DJ? No.
01:00:54 --> 01:00:59 Nothing like it. You don't think so? no okay
01:00:59 --> 01:01:02 all right anyway all right but but dave you're
01:01:02 --> 01:01:05 black you're tonight well first of all i didn't name a white person i
01:01:05 --> 01:01:08 didn't name a white person i named all black people and i
01:01:08 --> 01:01:11 thought that was will smith tonight your black card
01:01:11 --> 01:01:14 has been anyway anyway you always trying to take the back
01:01:14 --> 01:01:16 but this week you always try to take somebody's black
01:01:16 --> 01:01:21 card because you ain't got yours anymore anyway anyway so
01:01:21 --> 01:01:25 since we're on the subject of halloween just figured
01:01:25 --> 01:01:28 that we wrap up the show with dave's corner they are
01:01:28 --> 01:01:32 lennon's favorite part of the show with a
01:01:32 --> 01:01:36 halloween memory do you think you remember your
01:01:36 --> 01:01:40 favorite halloween outfit i do
01:01:40 --> 01:01:49 or costume yeah okay what was it so i was in college oh and there was this girl
01:01:49 --> 01:01:57 i really liked and where where i stayed It was me and my roommate who you met prior.
01:01:57 --> 01:02:03 It was me and my roommate. We were roommates in a townhouse.
01:02:03 --> 01:02:09 And two doors down, there was this girl who lived in this townhouse.
01:02:09 --> 01:02:12 And I'm probably telling too much or making this story too long.
01:02:12 --> 01:02:19 Anyway, long story short, she was really good friends with this girl who I had a crush on.
01:02:19 --> 01:02:25 I'd see this girl at the gym and I'd go try to talk to her and she'd smile and be pleasant.
01:02:26 --> 01:02:30 Dave, you know sometimes people smile at you and you'd be like, I thought she liked me.
01:02:31 --> 01:02:34 So I was Halloween, I was home in my bed,
01:02:36 --> 01:02:44 and I hear a knock at my door and I go down to my door and it's the girl and
01:02:44 --> 01:02:48 she's like, oh you're not coming to someone's Halloween party?
01:02:48 --> 01:02:54 And Dave, I had to think quick. Okay? I didn't think real quick because I couldn't
01:02:54 --> 01:02:56 go to a party looking like a bum.
01:02:57 --> 01:03:07 I ran upstairs, threw on my ROTC outfit, threw on my boots, and I went to the party as an army person.
01:03:12 --> 01:03:18 Did that impress a lot of people? No, but was it good? Did it impress her?
01:03:19 --> 01:03:22 I don't know. I mean, she, you know, cold shoulder. I don't know.
01:03:22 --> 01:03:29 You know sometimes you think you ain't good and you're not it was one of those type of things so okay,
01:03:31 --> 01:03:41 alright but what about you wait hold on but you were in college I was anyway and anyway.
01:03:44 --> 01:03:52 Halloween was always an interesting time for me growing up because,
01:03:52 --> 01:03:57 You know, I grew up, I grew up in, in the projects and even though Halloween
01:03:57 --> 01:04:02 was a big thing back then for us, because we used to like the Halloween,
01:04:03 --> 01:04:06 you know, of course, everything was about the candy and everything. Yeah.
01:04:08 --> 01:04:13 So my mom couldn't always afford to get the costume.
01:04:14 --> 01:04:19 But I remember this one year, I remember she had gotten a bonus from her job
01:04:19 --> 01:04:22 and she wanted to make sure we had nice costumes.
01:04:23 --> 01:04:27 And she bought me this Batman costume. I'll never forget it.
01:04:28 --> 01:04:34 So back then, you know, you had the mask and, you know, the plastic mask.
01:04:34 --> 01:04:38 And, you know, I had the cape and all of that stuff, you know.
01:04:38 --> 01:04:41 Man you couldn't tell me anything man i was running i
01:04:41 --> 01:04:44 was probably about 10 years old running around the neighborhood thinking
01:04:44 --> 01:04:48 i'm bad man you know so and i
01:04:48 --> 01:04:50 just remember i didn't i i went to i think i
01:04:50 --> 01:04:53 went to bed that night with that thing on because i didn't
01:04:53 --> 01:04:57 want to take it off because it was it was one of those it was
01:04:57 --> 01:05:00 like i think it was really like the first really really
01:05:00 --> 01:05:06 nice costume i ever had you know and i'll never forget that yeah that was that
01:05:06 --> 01:05:11 was that was really cool and i outgrew it so i couldn't even wear it the next
01:05:11 --> 01:05:14 year you know because i wanted to wear it again and i couldn't even get into
01:05:14 --> 01:05:19 that thing the next year man so because i had a growth spurt.
01:05:20 --> 01:05:23 And the next year it was you
01:05:23 --> 01:05:27 know she didn't buy any costumes we had to make her own you know we had to make
01:05:27 --> 01:05:33 her own costumes so but yeah that i'll never forget that that was that was really
01:05:33 --> 01:05:38 that was really cool being able to have that batman outfit you know you know
01:05:38 --> 01:05:43 it was always good when you wore a costume and nobody said to you who are you supposed to be.
01:05:45 --> 01:05:48 Or they'd be like oh you're a ghost again okay,
01:05:50 --> 01:05:55 that was always easy to do if you didn't get in trouble for taking your mom's
01:05:55 --> 01:05:57 pillowcase or something like that you know sorry,
01:05:59 --> 01:06:02 yeah yeah that was i'll never forget that so
